Harry Was My Best Friend’s Older Brother That Made Growing Up A Living Hell. Now He Wants To Be My Boyfriend?
But there are strings attached. He needs me to save his reputation after he gets kicked off the hockey team. Frankly, I’m ready to see him suffer.
But ever since his proposal I can’t stop thinking of him. His dark eyes, beautiful head of hair, and athletically toned body. I’m starting to imagine what it would be like to be with him.
Add to that I find out my ex transferred to my college. I can’t let him see me alone. I’m getting myself a boyfriend even if it’s a fake one.
Angel is best friends with Jeri. Angel has always had a problem with Jeri’s brother, Harry, who is an icy hockey player and tormented her when they were kids together. Now the three of them attend the same college. Jeri had helped Angel get through a bad breakup with Tommy, her cheating ex-boyfriend. So when Tommy is transferred to their college, he decides he wants to get back with her. Instead, she tells him she is seeing someone else.
When Harry stops by the dorm where Angel and Jeri are roommates, Jeri is not there. Harry apologizes for the way he treated her in the past. They talk most of the night and fall asleep together, where Jeri finds them the next morning and goes to hook up with Tommy! Harry and Angel continue to “fake” their relationship, but it seems to be real. When Angel finds Harry gone from bed, she heads out to find him and sees another girl kissing him! He knew Tommy had done this and ripped apart her trust. So it was even worse now for her. She confronted him later but he couldn’t, or wouldn’t, explain who the girl was! So she broke it off. Would Harry get her back? Could he convince her what she saw was not what she had assumed? Would she give him a second chance?
I guess Jeri running off to Tommy was a means of clearing the bedroom for Harry and Angel, because otherwise it made no sense why Jeri would trust the snake she knew cheated on Angel. There is much going on here, so grab your copy and find out how this all sorts out and whether Angel will trust Harry or walk away.
Harry made my life a living hell growing up. Now he seems to have changed his mind about me. He wants a no strings commitment. He hasn't changed hes still the same jerk. But is he. Can I do this. My ex comes to my college. Well Im the one that needs the fake commitment now. Great romance.

Well that was painful. Some of my favorite tropes all meshed together (college, sports, fake relationship, friend’s sibling), but it failed in so many ways. The narrative was weak with little plot and far too much telling versus showing. The characters were immature with unimpressive characters arcs, and the dialogue was either too formal, or too repetitive with poorly planned interactions. Colloquialisms and word choice was incorrect, and there were typos and grammatical errors that detract from the story and flow. The ending was a huge letdown without much resolution at all. Like someone just turned the page waiting for the next chapter only to see “The End” typed there.
I read over 400 books a year and less than 10% do I rate two stars or less, but this definitely fits that category. Sorry, Miss Frost, but I was disappointed and can’t recommend this as a read to anyone.
Erica Frost has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Angel and Harry. Angel has known Harry most of her life since she and his sister, Jeri are best friends. They are all at the same college and Jeri comes running into her and Angel's dorm room and said that she needed to go with her to help Harry. Angle wants to know why. Jeri tells her that something happened and Harry has gotten kicked off the hockey team. Angel doesn't feel bad for this thinking it is something he deserves. He was so mean to her while they were growing up. Jeri tries to fix whatever has happened so that Harry can get back on the hockey team but he tells her to not worry about it. That it can't be fixed. Jeri is coming back to their dorm room when she sees Angel's ex-boyfriend Tommy on campus. Tommy had cheated on Angel most of the time they had been together. She goes and tells Angel what she just saw. When Angel goes to confront Tommy, he tells her that he had to transfer there and that now he is there, they can get back together. He knows he messed up with her but he wants her back. She tells Tommy that it is not going to happen and she is seeing someone. With Tommy on campus, Angel stays in her room so that she doesn't run into him. She and Jeri talk about him and Angel comes up with a plan to have a fake boyfriend to help with Tommy. When she checks around, no ones wants to help her with her plan. Jeri talks Angel into going to watch a hockey game and she ends up seeing Tommy and she tells Jeri that she has to go. She goes into a full panic attack. Jeri tells her that she is just thinking about herself. After this Angel goes back to her dorm room and a little later, Harry shows up looking for Jeri. Angel and Harry end up talking all night and he even apologized to her for the way he treated her in the past. They end up falling asleep on the same bed, and Jeri comes in the next morning and gets really mad at both of them, and walks out saying she is going to go to Tommy's. Angel tries to talk her out of this but Jeri doesn't listen. Angel and Harry end up together and they have to wait out Jeri. Things are going fine for Angel and Harry until she wakes up one morning and Harry is not there. She goes to look for him and sees Harry with his arms around another girl and getting a kiss from her. She is so hurt because she had told Harry what Tommy had done to her and now he is doing the same thing. She goes back to her room and breaks down. When Harry comes back, she doesn't look at him when he talks to her. "Who is she?" she asked. Harry's expression changed. "What?" "The other girl. Who is she? Have you been dating her all this time or is it new?" " I don't know what you are talking about, Angel. What other girl? There is no other girl, there's only you. I thought I made that pretty clear last night. She turns to look at him and said, " I saw you with her, Harry. Don't try and deny it. I went to find you and I saw you with her. You had your arms around her and she was kissing you. The look on Harry's face is priceless. She saw the look before. The look of disbelief. the whirring of thoughts to try and come up with a lie that could get him out of the situation. "Angel, this isn't what you think it is. Please. You have to believe me. I meant what I told you last night. She tells him that she doesn't believe him. After she told him what Tommy did to her, he had to go and do the same thing. He tells her that he is not like Tommy but he can't tell her what is going on. She tells him that she can't be with someone who is not all there. She tells him to just leave and she never wants to see him again. Harry decides to tell her the truth about who the girl was. When she hears the truth, she gets a little mad for what he has had to go through for this girl. Will Angel and Harry stay together? Will Jeri learn what Tommy is really like? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is a college age read with some touchy subject matter were friendship and loyalty are tested and bad boyfriend choices are made.
Angel and Jeri have always been friends they weathered her older brother Harry's childish bullying Jeri's parents apathy about there second child and have stayed friends and when Angel's boyfriend Tommy betrayed there relationship with lies and cheating Jeri was there for her. But then there lives at college change again Jeri's Brother the hockey star and her parents favorite child has just lost his whole identity Hockey he lived and breathed the sport then something happens and he's of the team and won't say why threw out the book there is allot of speculation as to why.
Angel is desperate her ex is back claiming he wants her back but the betrayal runs to deep she thinks her best course of action is to lie and say she found someone else what is she going to do there is know other guy what her friend Jeri suggest set into motion a plane that will change everything there friendship will be tested especially when her bestfriend starts to see her lying ex Tommy.
Harry and Angel's relationship starts out as fake but they find there not so different they give each other the things they need most confidence, trust, friendship and eventually love there romance is tested and her friend Jeri has to learn lessons in life the hard way when it comes to boy's and there game's.
This book had some slow moments at the beginning but when Angel and Harry's relationship started to develop it picked up I'm not sure I like the ending there were some things left unfinished mainly certain people didn't face any consequences for there actions and I wanted some kind of epilogue telling how Harry and Angel's future played out.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! Angel and Jeri are best friends growing up together, getting through high school graduation and now at college together along with Jeri’s brother. Now Jeri’s brother was always mean to Angel for no reason. Harry sexy as all get out hockey player, college student and her best friend’s older brother. Jeri tells Angel that Harry just got kicked off the hockey team when it has been his dream ever since he was little to play hockey so when he get kicks off the team it is a big deal. The chemistry is there but both will have to work for it and the magnetic pull is there and after sitting up talking all night ending up falling asleep together (just sleep guys). Jeri walks in gets upset and runs to Angels cheating ex (which is messed up because she was there when he put Angel through the wringer) but needless to say she ran to Tommy. Harry and Angel started seeing each other fate putting people/places/things in place but Harry is keeping a secret and Angel thinks he is cheating on her just like her ex so do they work it out, what are the secrets, will Jeri ever forgive her for being with her brother and can they find happiness on the journey?
Power Play is a quick, easy to read novella length book. Although there isn't much backstory in novella length reads, this one did have a lot which made you want to support the Harry & Angel. The issues I had with the book were the 2 female characters were weak when dealing with Tommy, there was no resolution to Harry's issue, after all he did the right thing. Did Harry play college hockey again? Did Harry go on to make it to a pro hockey team? Did Harry & Angel get past the HFN and reach their HEA? Even though I felt there were things that should have been resolved, I still recommend Power Play with the push and pull +steam to make this childhood enemies to lovers a good read. Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I also purchased the book/read with Kindle Unlimited and am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.
This book was incredible from the dynamics between friends, siblings and enemies. While is was about Harry & Angel. It also showed the relationship of Harry & his sister Jeri and the relationship of Angel & Jeri, her best friend. I really enjoyed the whole concept.
I love that Harry & Angel went through the things the did in order to fully trust & love one another.
I was so upset that Jeri got sucked into the lies of Angel’s ex-Tommy, but so glad at the end she finally seen the light and got out. I’m glad that she also was happy for Harry & Angel being together and in love.
It was incredibly written and it was a great story. Thank you for sharing it, I would love to read more about them and about Jeri finally coming into her own and finding someone that loves her.
Love Out Of The Blue - Wow! What a great read. I couldn't put it down once I started, as I was hooked on the relationship journey of all the characters. I was delighted to read about Harry’s moral compass and strength of conviction, even though it cost him his dream. It was wonderful turning each pages to read about Harry and Angel turn their relationship from enemies to lovers. This book was a great read, that you will be happy to read.

Harry is kicked off the hockey team and his sister Jeri and her best friend Angel come over to try to cheer him up and help. Angel actually didn't want to help Harry because he has always been a bully to her. However, when things happen with Jeri, Angel and Harry get thrown together more often. Feelings start to develop and a relationship forms. I thought this story was entertaining though didn't have a lot of depth.
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
This story has a lot going on with Angel, Jeri and Harry. This book has girl finally dumping jerk of a boyfriend but so damaged that she is scared to give another guy a chance. A star player who does the right thing but ends up losing everything he thinks is important and another girl who screams for attention because she is tired of being an afterthought but seeks it in the wrong person. Can their relationships survive all this drama.
Power Play is a fast read with a fun story line of enemies to lover/ fake relationship thread that will have you flipping the pages as quick as you can. Angel and Harry's relationship was on rocky one when they were younger, as Harry was not very nice. Now years later, sorry for his behavior and needing help, Angel offer to step up. But what started as fake could it turn to real?

Angel has been heartbroken since the boy she loved cheated on her and broke her heart then the bully from her childhood her best friends older brother falls from hockey grace and they start seeing each other differently.
I would recommend this book for mature readers only (sexual situations) who enjoy reading stories that are funny, steamy, intense, and romantic, with a variety of characters not always good. Well done
Angel has had a bad breakup with Tommy and now he’s transferred to her college, her best friend’s brother has done something which has caused him to be suspended from the hockey team. Can these two help each other and have a HEA? Story takes a bit to get into but is good.

The story brings together enemies who turn faking love into the real thing. The characters were well rounded with their faults and all. The author doesn't fix all the problems lime life doesn't. That's why I enjoyed this book. It seems more realistic.
The H/h come together to commiserate their personal woes and end up in a fake relationship. I liked their chemistry together and thought they were a likable couple. Somethings didn't get resolved the way I had hoped they would, but you don't always win them all.

A story of friendship. Bullying. Selfishness. Parenting flaws. Hang Ups. Insecurity. Heart ache. Wrong choices. Growing up. Trusting again. I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers romance. Wonderful characters. Wonderful plot. My only issue was it was a little repetitious and tedious at times. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
The great plot was beautifully written, and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!
Power Play was a well written book that was a fast paced quick read that keeps you entertained from the first page to the last. I received a arc copy of this book for my honest review.

I rated this three and a half, rounding up. Angel and Jeri are best friends and roommates. Angel has always had a problem with Jeri's brother Harry, a star ice hockey player who used to be mean to her when she was hanging out with Jeri as children. Now they're all students together and Harry has secrets to keep. He got thrown out of his ice hockey team and nobody knows why. He keeps his secret even when the reader gets inside his head (this is alternating first person point of view). Harry has spent all his life training for a hockey career and now he can't play he's at a loose end. Meanwhile, Angel's manipulative ex arrives on the campus and to keep her distance from him, Angel blurts out that she is dating someone else. Jeri suggests that she needs a fake boyfriend but it's not that easy to get one. Jeri has her own emotional issues that affect both Harry and Angel.
This book started a little slow and the pace picks up once Harry and Angel start interacting more. There are scenes of sexual nature. When Harry's secret is eventually revealed it might be triggering for some readers, particularly because in the end, injustices are left unresolved and all the villains in this story get away with it unscathed with no kind of payback. And I'd have liked to know what Harry ended up doing about hockey, his studies and the future.
Regarding the writing style, if I was editing this book I'd use the enter key more liberally. There are lots of endless paragraphs that strike the reader as a ginormous wall of text, and some of the dialogue also consists of long-winded speeches. Breaking them up would improve readability.
