Gatlin voit une certaine tristesse dans ses yeux et découvre qu’il est un peu plus que sous le charme de ce nouveau joueur.

Bryan Delaney a quitté la maison à quinze ans pour vivre en famille d’accueil. Il aurait simplement espéré pouvoir échapper à son père alcoolique et à sa mère pieuse plus tôt. Lorsqu’il signe un contrat avec les Raptors d’Arizona, il trouve une nouvelle famille et sa première histoire d’amour, même si la relation est marquée par la violence.

Être transféré chez les Railers est un choc pour lui, mais cette équipe ne ressemble en rien à celle pour qui il a joué précédemment et ses coéquipiers semblent vraiment tenir à lui. Ce n’est que lorsqu’il rencontre Gatlin, l’artiste avec qui il partage l’amour de la musique et du hockey, qu’il se rend compte de l’aide dont il a besoin pour échapper à son passé.

Whoah, whoah, whoah…My favorite instalment of this MM sport romance series I have had pleasure reading.

This one is really not a standalone : yes, it’s about a new building romance between Bryan, the new and low-key goalie of the hockey team and Gatlin, the sexy tattoo artist who does artistic work for the players. But, there’s also a lot going on in the hockey world of this series and so much friendship among all the characters : without background, it might not be so impacting.

So, what worked so well for me ? As usual, these authors are good at writing a sport romance with enough hockey time to interest me but not bored me, the MCs are endearing and I enjoyed seeing the development of their relationship, with a good level of steam, and Bryan’s growing confidence. You add a well handled age-gap between Bryan and Gatlin, the great interactions among this group of friends and the cherry on the cake : the twist (A real"Bomb" factor !!!) inserted by the authors…Et voilà : I’m a happy reader !!!

Well, I never saw that coming. There is a huge plot game changer in this book which I won't be revealing, not even with spoilers, but let me just say, it's superbly done.

The whole book, the sixth in an outstanding series, is exceptionally good, bringing together Gatlin, the guy who inks the Railers at his tattoo parlour, and reserve goalie Bryan.

There's lots of serious subjects touched on but the book never loses sight of the romance between these two men.

And Bryan so desperately needs to know he's loved and be loving in return as his so-called called boyfriend is an utter arse who I wanted to punch after the first 5% of the book!

Gatlin is perfect for him, calming and a solid rock of support even as he deals with his own hang ups. Goal Line also focuses in on what I call made family - the people you surround yourself with who are only ever uplifting and encouraging.

There's the usual tensions which come with professional ice hockey, but this one goes the extra mile and, unusually for these authors, not all plots are tied up by the end. Don't worry though, there's no cliffhanger and Gatlin and Bryan are very much a solid team enjoying a HEA when it closes.

Now, Ryker's story needs to get here asap please ladies :)

I found this book by chance and I’m so happy that I gave it a shot.

I adored this story so much!
I haven’t read any of the previous books but didn’t felt lost or confused with the story.

“I had this insane urge to make Bryan Delaney smile again somehow.”
The romance? OMG is so cute and healthy and passionate and Ioved it.
they are literally soul mates. No one can’t tell me otherwise.

This one gets 5 stars, 5 teary tissues and all the feelz from me...

I’ve been crazy about this series from the word go and have loved each book more than the last one. I was honestly at the point where I thought my love for this series was maxed out but nope, I was wrong. This one…this one blew my mind and blindsided me with what has happened…I seriously did not see any of this coming…especially not the tears. My poor hubby came in from taking the dog for his morning walk to find me clutching my e-reader with soggy tissue in hand mumbling “dammit they made me cry!” He patted me on the shoulder and simply said “It’s been known to happen honey.” and went to make his morning tea…with my response of “Not when it’s a freakin’ hockey story. It doesn’t.” well, I was wrong apparently it does.

And that’s all the tear talk that we’ll be having today except to say that there were happy tears and sad tears and frustrated tears and some really pissed, angry tears and that’s the end of the tear talk.

‘Goal Line’ is puts us back inside the crease as we meet and spend time with fellow Canadian Bryan Delaney. The latest addition to the Railers and back-up for Sven the Railers totally adorable bigger than life Russian goalie. Bryan’s life hasn’t been the greatest, but he’s worked hard to get where he, is in spite of the obstacles he’s faced. Leaving his home in nowhere Canada at the age of 15 he found the beginnings of the family he should have had with his billet family before being drafter to the Raptors and can I just say that it’s a good thing he lived in Nowhere, Canada because I seriously want to get my hands on his parents…they do not deserve to be Canadian and we need to deport them to…the bottom of the ocean sounds good so let’s go with that, ok? I really came to love Bryan and at times his sense of insecurity and lack of self-worth more than anything were what brought me to tears, so the love and positive support that he received from Gatlin were like a balm to my soul. Bryan brought out my mother instincts practically from the word go and I have my milk and cookies ready for him.

For Bryan the Railers are a whole new creature when it comes to hockey teams as far as Bryan can see and he’s more than a little lost as to how to fit into this new and different team and when Sven takes him to get some new artwork for his helmet Bryan’s in for one more surprise when he meets Gatlin. Gatlin takes one look at Bryan and sees the history of sadness, heartache and insecurity that Bryan’s tried so hard to hide from the world and all he wants to do is to bring something good into Bryan’s life.

When Bryan gets drafted to the Railers he’s leaving behind more than a hockey team…he’s also leaving behind his first love affair…thank heavens because this one’s toxic city.

There’s a bit of an age gap between Gatlin and Bryan and while I’m ok with age gaps but still not a big fan of them. This one worked really well because of his age, Gatlin had the calm and maturity to be the supportive person that Bryan needed…these two men fit together effortlessly in my opinion and I so enjoyed their relationship…it worked really well for me. That’s not to say that they didn’t have some challenges to get there just that I had no problem believing that they would.

I think one of my favorite things about this book…actually about the series in general is how much we get to see of the characters from the previous books. It’s like getting a bag of my favorite candy when this happens in a series. I have such a weakness for this and because this story is based around a sports team it would honestly be bizarre to have it any differently.

‘Goal Line’ turns out to be a huge game changer for this series and one that I think will be as surprising for other fans of the series as it was for me, but I’m so on board to find out what happens next.

I’m not sure if I’ve said it before but this series just...keeps...getting...better! Bryan just about broke my heart and Gatlin is a guy who really needed someone to nurture and appreciate him for it. One of my favorite tropes is an age gap but these two honestly didn’t feel as far apart as a 22 year old and a man of 39 are. Bryan has had few people in his life who weren’t toxic, only the hockey billet family he lived with since he was 15 love him wholeheartedly. Before he arrives in Pennsylvania, Bryan played for the Raptors, the Railer’s nemesis and was also involved with Aarnie Lankinen, the jerk we saw in Max’s story. Through Bryan we learn just how badly the Raptors as a whole and Aarnie specifically, mistreated him and crushed his spirit. When Gatlin meets the skittish young man, he wants to be the one person to take that sadness from his eyes. Luckily Bryan has also landed in the welcoming atmosphere of the Railers team, although its takes him awhile to trust in them. Stan takes him under his goofy Russian wing though, so it’s inevitable!

For Gatlin, it takes patience, slow pursuit and a shared love of 70’s and 80’s metal band music to get through to Bryan but it was lovely and heartwarming to watch. Bryan’s confidence blossoms both on and off the ice but eventually he has to face his old team and Aarnie across the ice. I’ve come to love all these characters so much over the course of the series and the authors keep them all fully present in each book even with the ever-widening circle of teammates and family. Each one is vividly drawn whether in their individual stories, as supporting cast or figures soon to be featured. Sharp, humorous dialogue and fresh plots enrich the narrative consistently with each installment. One major event in this book is a shocking twist that will carry over to the next. Lots of tender and fuzzy feels are intensified by thrills and chills making this one you won’t want to miss. Someone could try to read this as a stand-alone but I wouldn’t recommend it. You really need the history and backstories of the players and competing teams to really “get” this one. The whole series is so worth it though!

Man, this book hurts me. Bryan, the new backup goalie for Railers is such a sympathetic character. He had a lousy family, an abusive boyfriend and he is one of the most insecure player I read about. Meanwhile, Gaitlin the tattoo artist is one confident and suave silver fox. I thought they matched each other perfectly.

In the beginning, Bryan is still in relationship with the nasty piece of shit, Aarni, a player from his ex-team Raptor, though, calling it a relationship is a stretch. There isn't cheating, but obviously Bryan toed the line with Gaitlin. I don't care about Aarni, but I also don't want Bryan label as a cheater. Anyway, I thought things work well for them both. The only problem I have would be the sudden changes in Bryan's heart. He used to be so submissive like a beaten dog who keep pushing Gaitlin away, then all of a sudden, he want Gaitlin now. I find it a tad hard to follow, like there is a missing transition somewhere.

Have I mentioned my favourite player in the series is Stan, the burly Russian? There are plenty of Stan here, which I love. Actually there are plenty of Ten, Adler and the rest of the team. The thing about reading the entire series is I get to know each and everyone of them, and catching up with them is always a blast.

There are some heavy shit that happened towards the end, which I was shock. Absolutely shock. Bryan and Gaitlin's romance was kind of being overshadowed by all team drama, but I'm not complaining because as a fan of this series, the team is as important. See me, talking like a true team player? I'm surprised the authors decided to end the series this way, but I'm glad that we will get to catch up with some of the guys in the spin off series.

I really loved meeting Bryan, a goalie to back Stan up as a new addition to the most rainbow team in the league, who comes with a closet full of personal issues. Gatlin was a good fit for him, older, patient, and sharp enough to recognize the signs of when something went wrong. This was a good adition to a very enjoyable hockey series, complete with a long term plot twist that has me eager for the next one.

I did wish this was a bit longer, to give these two guys more time together. I applaud the fact that Bryan went into therapy to deal with his situation, but the relationship between him and Gatlin felt too fast and smooth for all the baggage they had, and the limited contact between them. And Gatlin's 20 year personal tragedy that shaped his life didn't feel like it got emotional space to either play a role or to resolve. I appreciated that there was not over the top drama or angst for them, as the plot played out, but wanted more real time together out of bed. There were some great moments in here (and I adore Stan) but the romance, despite its emotional impact, felt a little short-changed.

Still a favorite hockey series, and I'll be preordering the next one.

This seems rather short. I thought I was only halfway into the book but I was actually so close to the end. I honestly expected a little more from Bryan and Gatlin’s romance. It moved a little fast and all of a sudden they’re together. Seems too easy 🤨

But otherwise, it was good to be back with the Railers. I haven’t actually read Jared and Ten’s story so imma go do that now 😬

I just love being back with the Railers. Right from the off you’re sucked into a story about two men with a past, who come with baggage and a whole host of other issues, but when Bryan and Gatlin meet, it changes the trajectory of life for both of them.

My heart genuinely hurt for Bryan Delaney, in an abusive relationship and believing he doesn’t deserve any better but desperate to belong and to be loved, and the first time anyone shows him any kindness, he really doesn’t recognise it. I loved how the Railers welcomed him from the off and to watch him learn to trust and gain some confidence was amazing.

Gatlin Pearce is a lonely soul, he has friends and an awkward sort of relationship with his brother but on the whole he’s fine. But there’s something missing and I don’t think Gatlin knew what it was until Bryan walked into his tattoo parlour. Bryan’s like a skittish colt, so fragile and untrusting and it takes Gatlin’s all to help Bryan realise he is worthy. These guys really don’t have an easy start; tough times with a lot of heartbreak but this balances out beautifully as we get a front seat to watch them fall in love.

As with all the previous stories in the series, we’re immersed back in with the whole team; these wonderful, crazy and supportive men that will always have your back. Everyone gets a look in here, and they all have such important roles in the story. It’s on par with the previous books and it’s a real roller coaster of a ride that you’ll enjoy the hell out of. There’s a real shocker in store for you but you’ll have to read the book to find out. Superb writing as usual from Vicky and RJ and a definite 5 star read.

Lots going on in this one and not enough details about it all, really. This relies a lot on mentioning thing that have happened both in the past and in present without any details which was really frustrating. Then, in normal fashion for this series, it also has unbelievable insta-love instead of investing in telling a whole story and giving the characters a chance to actually know each other before becoming laser focused on their devotion to each other.

Then we get a game changer for one of the past couples that was jarring. I know Hockey is a dangerous game but this seemed like a sensational tragedy and sends the trajectory of the couple away from the game and team and I'm struggling with the idea of that for the series.

I guess we'll see what happens next. If nothing else, it has kept me reading even if I don't have as high expectations as I think these authors can provide.

4.5 stars - I have enjoyed this series from the get go. It has been so much fun following this team, and this installment really shows the kind of team they are and what sets them apart from some of the others. They are genuinely good guys who embrace the team spirit and actually care about each other, have each other’s backs, regardless of age, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Sure, there have been a few bumps here and there, but when it counts, they circle the wagons and pull together.

Here, we have a young guy who is one of the most insecure guys I’ve read about. Bryan has not had a very good life, aside from his adoptive billet family, who are wonderful and go a long way in making it up for him. Unfortunately, when the story begins, he is still in a “relationship” with another player, and to say it is unhealthy would be a gross understatement. Not only is it mentally (and to a degree physically) abusive, but Bryan is practically brainwashed into believing he is worthless, barely worthy of making it on any team. So, to say that he is down on himself and his life is putting it mildly. While it did get a bit tiresome at times, it was hard not to feel for him and what he’s been through.

Every goalie needs a bad ass goalie mask, so Bryan’s new mentor and fellow goalie (and the man whom Bryan was brought on board to back up), and my favorite of the series, Stan, insists he must go see Gatlin, the team tattoo artist and designer of Stan’s awesome mask. Gatlin is quickly taken by the shy young man, and even though he senses there is a lot to Bryan’s stand-offish demeanor, he can’t help but want to get to know him and help him somehow, even if that has gotten him hurt in the past. It takes some time for Gatlin to push past the walls the skittish Bryan has erected, but it is worth the effort, and it pays off.

Bryan quickly learns that the team is not anything like he was expecting, though it takes a while for him to truly believe they are genuine, not anything like he was led to believe, etc. It really was enjoyable to watch them continually prove to be stand-up guys. Those guys and their camaraderie are what make this series so great, and I love that we get to see them all in each story. They are all tested quite a bit in this installment, and I was on the edge of my seat until the end. I can’t wait to see the team again. It’s like waiting for the real NHL season to start and rooting for all your favorite players. I’m ready to cheer the Railers on, through thick and thin! Highly recommend!

Throughout quite a bit of this book I had the overwhelming urge to throat punch someone..really hard..several times, in succession.
I was so upset for Bryan, always wanting to pull him into a "mom hug" and telling him to not listen to that nasty man and that everything would be ok. That he was AMAZING and deserved the praise , affection, friendship and support his new team was offering him.
Bryan had been blessed with , what he calls a "billet family" that was far superior and supportive in every way, than his biological parents were. Not going to give any more away on that.
In walks Gatlin onto the scene and I can relax because I know everything will, hopefully and eventually, work out for the best for both of these men.
Gatlin's life hadn't been a bed of roses either but I will not get into that either , you'll need to get this fantastic book and find out for yourselves just what happened and the end results.
Also in this book is a severe heart rending event. I won't get into it, however for those of you who are followers of this series, try and prepare yourself. I myself failed miserably but that just goes to show how great these authors are at their craft. ripped me apart.

Bryan is the young, new backup goalie for the Harrisburg Railers. With his trade he gets away from an abusive relationship. Although he wasn't with him, Aarni still had a huge influence on his life and his mental state. The sad thing is that he didn't realize it was so toxic. Unsure of his new team, mind full of garbage spewed by his boyfriend. He didn't get what he expected from the Railers. What he did get was a welcoming, accepting environment he could excel in.

Gatlin is a tattoo artist. He is responsible for most of the Railers ink. The first time he saw Bryan he was shaken by the feelings he had for the kid. He wasn't alone. Bryan knew he couldn't have anything with Gatlin because of his boyfriend. After a confrontation with Aarni, Bryan finally breaks free. He knows Gatlin is what he wants and he gives in to his feelings.

I have truly enjoyed the Railers series. I think each book has gotten better. Gatlin and Bryan are such a good couple. Their interactions felt genuine and they may be my favorite overall. I loved the connection with the rest of the team (especially Stan), they are all memorable. All that said, I was surprised at the turn this story took. Quite a bold move on the authors parts. I'm sad that this may be the last of the Railers stories.

I want to start by saying that this series gets better with each book. Goal Line is such a sweet love story, which touches on some serious issues, but never loses sight of the relationship between the MCs. I have to say that it absolutely blew me away!

It pulled my emotions all over the place. I adored Bryan with his hang ups and his frailties and wanted to slap all of the people in his past who had treated him badly and caused him so much hurt. I especially wanted to slowly torture Aarnie.

The chemistry between Bryan and Gatlin is instant, but poor Bryan is so messed up and confused he simply doesn't know how to react. I just wanted to climb into the book and give him a great big hug. I totally fell in love with Gatlin, he is totally what Bryan needs and is so sweet and gentle with him.

I don't want to spoil the book for anyone, so I'm not going to go into detail about what happens, but all the guys from the previous books are here, being their usual selves and giving so much support to Bryan.


This is such a great series, the story builds from one book to the next, each one allowing us to know the characters better, and seeing them grow into a family. They are well written, with great dialogue, the world building has been excellent throughout.


I've started each one of these books knowing that I'm going to love it. I try not to read them too quickly, knowing that when I get to the end, I'm going to be really fed up. It never works though, and I seem to gallop through them. I would give this more than 5*s if I could. Very highly recommended.

Holy Moly never saw that plot line coming.. Not sure how to even write this review as I dont want to give anything away

Bryan is traded to Harrisburg and is not super happy , I mean he is leaving a team he doesn't really like but he is also leaving his "boyfriend" .. Upon meeting Gaitlin he really starts to question if what he feels for his boyfriend is really love and a relationship.. Gaitlin is older but takes his time to let Bryan get comfortable with everything going on.. When Bryan really needs him and Gaitlin shows he isnt going anywhere that is when Bryan realizes what he had in arizona was nothing compared to what he can have now..

This is definitely the best book in the series after book 1 :)

HOLY WOW!!! This book knocked me out. Bryan was a great addition to the Railers and Gatlin was a perfect extra. I really enjoyed reading their story and the extra we got from our previous couples.

There were definitely tears while I read this one, but the happy was really happy, too! I think that the emotional baggage both guys carried with them helped them really connect on a deeper level - not just with each other, but the reader as well. And the “bad guy” in this novel is one of the worst bad guys I’ve read in recent history. I just can’t find anything at all positive about him! He’s a class a JERK and I feel so bad that Bryan dealt with him for so long.

Gatlin won my heart because he was such a great uncle and just wanted to help clear the fear and anxiety from Bryan’s eyes. I also LOVED his art and how he managed to use it! Just an incredible addition to the series and I can’t wait to start the next one with Ryker, Jared’s son. It’ll be amazing, too!!!

I really cannot deal with my feelings right now. This book has been, to me, the most emotional Railers book of the series, both because of the past of Bryan and Gatlin and because of an event in a game I shall not disclose (but my poor heart has a hard time dealing with). I loved this book, and need the next one soon, or I shall go mad.
Also, who knew Stan really had contacts?

I'm always a little scared when reading a new book in a series that I like as much as the Harrisburg Railers.

Luckily I was not disappointed - shocked, yes, but not dissapointed. Developed characters with plenty of personality. A plot I hadn't seen coming.

I devoured this book in about two hours - the only regret is, I can't read it for the first time again.

The Harrisburg Railers ... one of the best hockey series and these authors did not disappoint!!!! Gatlin is a tattoo artist with a past which has tormented him for years and tore his family apart. When he meets Bryan, there was something so sad in Bryan’s eyes, Gatlin just wanted to help him, to take that hurt away. Both have family issues and relationship issues from the past. Can they work through them together or will it make it even harder to fall in love?

These guys along with the other members of the Railers take you in a journey of love, forgiveness, hurt, tragedy and that emotional tug of your heart. This is probably my favorite....all the feels, this book was extraordinarily wonderful!!

Oh my God. I am mind blown with Goal Line. It was a nail biter that once you started you couldn't put it down. Gatlin and Bryan are so perfect for each other that they fit in with the rest of the guys. Not telling any spoilers BUT this is a book that will have you laughing, crying and asking why. I love this whole series and this one didn't disappoint. Definitely need to one click this one.

R.J. Scott & V.L. Locey get a shutout with GOAL LINE the sixth book in the Harrisburg Railers series.
Thirty-eight-year-old tattoo artist, Gatlin Pearce, has just about given up on relationships. Then along comes Harrisburg Railers’ goalie, Bryan Delaney, whose haunted eyes speak to him. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.

The characters are likable and well-developed. I adore Bryan. He has had a difficult past. He is not very confident socially. I like that he had hockey and his billet family to rely on. Gatlin is a good guy. I enjoyed his thought process, especially when trying to determine what should go on Bryan’s hockey helmet. I appreciate how he handled his initial meetings with Bryan. Bryan and Gatlin complement each other. They have great taste in music.

The plot was interesting and skillfully executed. I thought the stuff with Aarni Lankinen from the Arizona Raptors was gripping. Aarni is a good antagonist.

This is the first book that I have read in the Harrisburg Railers series. I had no problem following it as a standalone. Characters from the previous books were in this story. I liked those characters; I want to go back and read their stories, especially Tennant’s. I have read many books by V.L. Locey and enjoy her work. This is the first book that I have read by R.J. Scott. The two make a good writing team. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Wow. OK. So this book was pretty darn great. So… Now. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone, but there are some major events that happen in this book. Before you go any further in this series, or read any spin-off series books (like Owatanna U Hockey), this one has to be read first: we get to meet a new teammate who ends up with the tattoo artist who does all of the team’s ink work; we learn some new things about Ten and Mads (leads from previous books), and we get to see Mads’ son Ryker (who has a new book in the Owatanna U Hockey series) coming into his own NHL hockey career. We get all kinds of plots and twists and drama and action in this one.

This book was great. I really need more of this entire team and I literally don’t want this series to ever end. Even though I really don’t know a whole lot about hockey in general, I do think I am learning a lot about the sport just by reading these books. The authors do a fantastic job of not only giving us the stories for all these men, but we get actual sports being played in these books. Love it!

This book will have you feeling just a little emotional at times when learning about Bryan and everything he’s gone through in life leading to this point where he becomes a backup goalie and great addition to the Harrisburg Railers team. They have such a family vibe and the stability they can provide him with was something he really needed in his life in the worst way. I was really happy that once he was traded to them and pulled away from his jerk of an ex *if you can even call him an ex*, he was able to be more open and freer. Bryan was so shy and reserved and totally out of his element when meeting everyone at first and I think it was pretty obviously because of the mental abuse he’d suffered at the hands of numerous people. Oh, and it was really cute seeing how he was finally able to open up with his billet (foster) family as well and show them how much he really did care that they were there for him and supported him through everything.

Gatlin was perfect for Bryan. He really just let their formed relationship go with the flow and knew not to push Bryan more than was necessary, even before he learned about Bryan’s backstory. Gatlin had his own demons to work through as well, regarding some past family issues on his side, so it was good that they were able to lean on each other while muddling through all their feelings. These two guys were super sweet together!

This series keeps getting better with each book released! Bryan is the new Railers backup goalie recently acquired from the Raptors. Bryan’s life has been difficult from a lousy birth family to his abusive somewhat boyfriend Aarni, a teammate from his former team. Gaitlin is the tattoo artist that inks the Railers and designs Stan’s goalie masks. They meet when Stan takes Bryan under his wing and introduces them so Bryan can get a new design for his goalie mask.

There is an age gap between Bryan and Gaitlin but they match each other perfectly. Gaitlin is very confident in himself whereas Bryan always thinks he is not good enough and that he is always letting people down. This story pulled my emotions all over and touched on some serious issues that helped to build the relationship between Gaitlin and Bryan.

Bryan finds that the Railers will support their teammates no matter the situation unlike the Raptors. Bryan is so messed up and confused that it takes him a while to grasp the concept that his billet family actually treats him like their biological son/brother and not just a kid that stayed with them so he could play hockey. Gaitlin is completely the type of guy that Bryan needed in his life he is so sweet and gentle with him that you just want to hug them both.

As always, this story builds on the others and allows us to see more of our favorite characters and how they are doing from time to time and how each are growing in their own relationships.

I do not want to spoil the book for anyone so I am trying to keep my review about the main characters and not give away anything in the story – I will say there is an open storyline at the end but it does not involve the two main characters.

What I can say is Ryker’s story needs to get here NOW! Pretty Please J

I really love this series and I quite liked the book, but there where some things that felt off in the plot.

Like when you are in a very toxic, abusive relationship, imo you need much more reflexion and time to get a grip of the situation. Or at least it felt very quick from being well conditioned by the abuser to declaring:
“He was a toxic, controlling jerk who meant nothing. I thought he did… or I guess I thought I meant something to him… but I didn’t. He just got off on abusing me and hurting me.”

The same with Gatlin’s family. You don’t have contact with your parents for approximately 20 years, because you blame yourself for the death of your sister and think they do too. And then out of the blue you call them and there is a family reunion?

But Gatlin and Bryan are a nice couple and I loved their love story. I can’t wait for the series to continue and as well Ryker’s story in the spinoff series.

Goal Line is book 6 in the Harrisburg Railers series and I think you'll enjoy the series better if you read it in order.

Bryan Delaney is the new backup goalie for the Railers. He's had a hard life, first with his overly religious parents and then with his abusive sort-of-boyfriend/teammate. The best things that have happened to him in his 23 years are landing with a fantastic billet family who treated him better than anyone before and practically adopted him into their fold and landing on the Railers, where his new teammates are determined on making him part of their family as well.

Gaitlin Pearce is a 38-year-old single tattoo artist/shop owner, he's lonely and carries the guilt of an event from his teen years. He's drawn to Bryan from the moment they meet, but it takes time and patience to get past Bryan's skittishness, but once he gets past the goalie's defenses, they bond through music and hockey.

The romance portion of the book was a bit insta-something, but it's understandable all things considered. Not only does Gaitlin show Bryan more tenderness and kindness than anyone has before, but he treats him like his equal, despite the age difference. So, I was happy that it didn't take Bryan all that long to give in to what he felt for Gaitlin. They were sweet and hot and worked well together, providing the support and love that the other needed.

I loved that Stan and Ten and the rest of the team were so nice to Bryan and showed him what being on a team really meant and I was very happy that the whole deal with Bryan's ex and Gaitlin's family got resolved in a satisfying manner.

There's something happening in the second half of the book that I didn't quite see coming and that was both emotional and heartbreaking—if you're anything like me, you'll probably need some tissues—and that ties in with the next series by this duo of fantastic authors. I'll definitely be looking forward to it and hopefully getting glimpses of the Harrisburg Railers in it.

Hockey and all the feels… perfection!

The Harrisburg Railers has become one of my all-time favourite sports romance series. Like Gatlin and Bryan’s story, it slowly builds until all the characters feel like well-known friends that you care and worry about. This is a romance but the hockey is also, wonderfully, in the forefront of each read. Hot m/m romance, emotional connections high drama, and hockey? Yes, this series feels like it was written just for me!

This is the sixth instalment and Gatlin and Bryan’s courtship is chock-a-block full of all those good things. Bryan is young, uncertain, and lacking in self-confidence. He’s talented but his inner voice keeps him worried. He’s been through the wringer in more ways than one and finds it hard to believe he can be what he wishes and yearns for – an NHL-level, great goalie. He has an opportunity for a fresh start and even if there are hiccups along the way, Gatlin is right beside him, offering him the love and support he craves….

And Gatlin? Older, mature, beautifully tattooed, he is an unexpected joy in Bryan’s new world. Under a shadow himself, Gatlin’s struggles become Bryan’s and their emotional connection, as well as their hot, hot, physical one, had my heart fully engaged. There is heart-felt drama on and off the ice that was always just the right amount. Music and love thread through this emotional read and each moment was a literary symphony... On ice…

I’m super happy there will be more as Ryker’s story is next and we stay in touch with Ten and the whole Railer family. Find any reason you can to get started on this series and be prepared to happily stay…

A great addition to the series; you'll need tissues.

I know next to nothing about hockey but I love this series so much. You don't need to know anything about hockey to appreciate the wonderful love stories written by RJ Scott and V.L. Locey.

New backup goalie for the Harrisburg Railers, Bryan Delaney, had a sad home life until he went to live with a billet family at age 15. He's been dating a man who is a jerk and has trampled on his self-confidence. After being traded to the Railers he misses the jerk who has taught him to mistrust everyone but soon realizes that he could be happy with his new team.

Gatlin Pearce, the tattoo artist who inks most of the Railers, is intrigued by Bryan when they first meet. He wonders how such a seemingly timid person can play an aggressive sport like hockey. He wants to help pull Bryan out of his shell and more even though there is a pretty big age gap between them.

This story is really full of feels. There's the part about Bryan's birth family and how they treated him. Gatlin also has family issues that are so sad. And there is something huge that I can't talk about here but, trust me, I think you will want to keep the tissues handy.

Another great thing about this story is how much we get to see our favorite Russian, Stan, who takes Bryan under his wing and entertains us with his unique style of witty sayings.

I just can't say enough good things about this book and the entire series. I think this might be the final book for the Railers but Ryker's book, Owatonna U. Hockey #1 is coming in late September and I'm dying to read it.

Note: I feel obligated to mention that this story has somewhat of a cliffhanger but don't let that stop you from reading it. The main story for Bryan and Gatlin is concluded but you will be left dying to read Ryker's book.

Dopo tutte le cattiverie che i suoi ex compagni di squadra gli hanno raccontato sui Railers, Bryan è terrorizzato dal suo trasferimento da loro; è guardingo, sospettoso, si prepara sempre ad essere pugnalato alle spalle. Non ha ancora capito che essere stato preso dai Railers è stata la sua più grande fortuna!
Stan finalmente avrà un degno sostituto per dargli il cambio in campo, ma soprattutto un nuovo amico con cui sfogare le sue stranezze, da introdurre ai tatuaggi e giocare ai Pokemon!
Bryan è un ragazzo grande e grosso, con il classico fisico da portiere, ma è anche un concentrato di insicurezze dovute alla sua triste infanzia e all’ambiente tossico in cui ha giocato fino a poco tempo fa, molto diverso dallo spogliatoio attuale, non solo perché i Railers sono gay friendly, ma soprattutto perché sono una vera squadra!
Bryan ha conosciuto davvero poco affetto finché sulla sua strada non ha trovato la famiglia che lo ha ospitato una volta iniziata la sua carriera sportiva. È un ragazzo facile da ferire, dolce e molto solo, tanto solo che no ha il coraggio di mangiare dei semplici biscotti.
