L.S. Pullen, aka Leila, is an indie author, born and raised in North London; and now resides in East of England. No longer working the corporate life, she writes full time. When she’s not writing or reading, you’ll find her walking her adopted pooch Luna whilst squirrel spotting. As well as looking after her bunnies Beatrix & Bucky. And in true English cliche fashion, she loves afternoon tea.

Charlie and Sophie were a match made in heaven, but the road wasn’t always easy for them. My heart broke for both of them during this book, and while reading, I felt like I was right there with them, cheering them on. Leila did an amazing job of bringing these characters to life, and the twists and turns at the end had me on the edge of my seat.
Definitely recommend this series. A fantastic five stars!
The characters in this book are so real that while reading I felt as though I was right there with them. I was captivated from the first page all the way through the last page. I experienced every emotion possible while reading Dysfunctional Hearts. I highly recommend Dysfunctional Hearts to anyone looking for a realistic love story that's not all flowers and roses. I recieved an advanced reader copy of Dysfunctional Hearts and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I love how seamlessly this book follows Where The Heart Is. We met Charlie and Sophie there and continue to get to know them here. Their story pulls on the heartstrings and definitely had me gasping in shock on multiple occasions. I truly enjoyed that while I assumed there would be a happy ending it was not so obviously predictable that it became boring. The story continued to keep my attention right up to the very end. Fabulous work and if my suspicions are correct in there being more to the series I will be very happy to read it!
Charlie and Sophie's story was one full of turmoil and love. It pulled me in from the start with so many twists and unexpected turns. It had me in suspense through out and I absolutely loved the ending! L.S. Pullen has wrote a wonderful story and deserves all the stars.
The characters in the story are well written and very detailed. It Feels like you're living among them. It feels like you are really there and are a part of the story. You can feel the chemestry between the main characters.
It was so much fun to be back with this group of characters. After the first novel, I was dying to read more about Charlie and Sophie and this book didn’t let me down at all. I loved their chemistry and story and all the twists and turns. Now I am excited for the next book and hopefully more of Ollie!
Charlie and Sophie's story was an emotional, yet touching, love story filled with heartache and hope. I truly enjoyed this read, especially after having already read Where the Heart Is - Pullen's first book. If you're looking for a realistic story between two people who have "dysfunctional hearts" and find love in spite of it, look no more.
Normally I give a little breakdown of the plot in my reviews, but I do not know how to do that without giving too much away. So here is a little list before I tell you how much I loved this story.
Charlie and Sophie are really close friends. Charlie is known as the never settle down playboy. Sophie keeps men at an arm's length away. They both are house-sitting for their mutual friends while they are away. Can they continue to fight their growing feelings for each other? When things get too complicated will they continue to run away, or will they fight for what they want before it's too late?
I thought the first story in this series was emotional, well Charlie and Sophie proved me wrong. What these two go through to get their Happily Ever After, and they do get it, is so heartbreaking. They both are so stubborn, to the point that it hinders them without them knowing it. There were multiple times when both Charlie and Sophie made me want to smack them but that is what made this story so good. It made it feel real because they made mistakes that anyone would make it humanized the fairytale. The way Charlie loved Sophie and how no matter what in the end he just wanted to take care of her.... *hand's Charlie my beating heart*. The way Sophie battled to overcome her past and learn to let someone in is inspiring. You can't help but root for these two to figure their crap out and just love each other the way they want to.
Ok ill start this review off by saying that LS Pullen is a new author to me.. i found her via a book signing and after reading book 1 for this series i knew i needed book 2 asap.. and i can now say i believe she will be an author who i stick with and want to devour everything shes written! I find these stories just so easy to fall into and get hooked with the characters so quickly! So this time we get the story of Charlie and Sophie and boy these guys just dont make it easy on themselves!!! Communication isnt the best for them both and at times its so non exist i just wanted to scream at them to open their eyes and let themselves be happy! There is emotions galore in this read and it made my heart hurt at parts. So many bumps that keep them apart but its not all sad and gloomy.. there is love and laughter throughout at parts too. Cant wait to start Rachels story as soon as i can too! Huge well done LS Pullen youve found yourself a new commited reader! *Read as part of KU*
Charlie and Sophie are very close friends who have been trying to deny their feelings for each other. Charlie is known as a playboy and Sophie doesn't want to ruin their friendship by taking it further, but the heart wants what the heart wants! It certainly isn't an easy road for them, they both have fears and obstacles that they need to overcome that hinder their more than friends relationship. I can't say that I agreed with something that Sophie did, I understood to a point but I was totally team Charlie on that one!
A beautiful written book that deals with sensitive topics so please read any TW/CW. It's such an emotional book and really tugs at the heart strings. I'm so glad that they both finally got their HEA as it was such a hard battle to get it. Leila you've done a fantastic job with this duet! ❤️
