Powerful men lurk between the pages, demanding more from their ladies than just love. When a stolen kiss or a promise of eternal fidelity is not nearly enough, these couples demand sacrifice. To be worthy of each other, they will bleed for love.
If you're addicted to broken hearts and a fan of romance in the morally grey, this Limited Edition collection of Dark Romance stories from USA TODAY and Bestselling authors will be more than enough to keep you hooked.
USA Today & International Bestselling Author of Romantic Suspense, Thrillers, & Dark Romance books.
Don't be fooled by the positive, unicorn-loving, bubbly nerd. Sonya writes about dark hearts, soul-crushing moments, and the in-between of moral code. In books, she spares no one from the emotional rollercoaster and the gut-wrenching turns, but in real life, she's all about the bounce—about embracing the change, using the hard parts of life to spring back up, and not giving up when things get tough.
Sonya's a sucker for romance, practically inhales books in her free time like they're oxygen, and nurtures an addiction to criminal psychology. Yes, she watches True Crime as a hobby. Forever a student at heart, Sonya enjoys adding degrees, accolades, and certificates to her roster, and is affectionately referred to as Dr. Paige Turner by her peers.
Her family insists she's smart, but they must not see her lose her phone at least twice a week, try to open the front door with the car fob, or toot brain farts on the daily. Luckily, they also think she's funny. But that's just one of the reasons why she loves her big Portuguese family, rose-colored glasses and all.
This one I picked up just this Thursday, and am working may way through. So far... amazing. The first few stories just hit the spot for me. I had planned on reading one a day, but ended up reading more. I'm about ready to start my 9th story, and I don't have reason to complain. They are quick reads, starting off with a bang (quite literally) in Pink Street (5 stars). These characters jumped off the page and set the pace for the anthology. Loved it. Then it kept going strong with Amarie Avant's story. El Santo really intrigued me, and I loved the chemistry! (4.5 stars). Archer's stories, as always hook me in. This one got me at the title "You Hurt Me First". (5 stars). Logan Fox was new to me, but bravo (4.5 stars). Pepper North I'm familiar with most all of her works! Another 5 stars. The premise of the Valentine card with the favor is fantastic and so original! MK Moore was also new to me (4 stars) but I was hooked after the prologue (but, only because I'm not the hugest fan of prologues). Jade Royal, also new to me, 4 stars. I've been intrigued about her other work though! Tracie Podger, also new to me. (4.5 stars because i wish it had more, but anthologies usually leave me feeling like this). I haven't read the next three yet, but if they are anything like the others, I'm sure they will also be great!
I love the compilation and I think it would have been Amazing if there was a threaded loop between them. Like if One of the first story's characters led to the second story, and then one of the second's to the third story... etc. It would have made the book more addicting!
Just throwing this out there in case the authors decide to do another one because this combo of authors is fantastic!)
Wow. I love anthologies and one this one came around with some exclusive content from some authors. I couldn't put it down. There were some stories I absolutely loved! Like North's and Fox's, and Sonya's (I think I love Neve!). Tracie's was great too! Some I loved a little less, but that's what you get in almost all anthologies.
I want to read more about all of these, and can not wait to check out some new-to-me authors.
It was exceptionally hit or miss. It took me a while to finish this, I don't remember many of the stories. But I have read a few of the author previously and they were as expected. Some of the stories dragged on, other were just ok. Not the darkness I was hoping to read. I didn't even bother trying to finish the last story - it started as a long list of names. After that, many of them changed and nothing made sense by the end of the first chapter. Way too confusing.
