I guess I should start out by explaining just what the heck we’re talking about… and maybe I should even say who I am. This sort of thing is taught in Comics 101, you know? My name is Ward. I’m a super teen, one who goes to a school for super teens called Cape High. The guy in front of me is a full-fledged super who goes by the name “Mega” whenever he’s running around in tights. I was sort of a “Surprise! You have a teenage kid!” to him a few years ago. Does that have a more succinct saying? I should check out that website for slang sometime, because I REALLY bet it does. Dad, though, didn’t seem to mind. In fact, more often than not, he’s OVERLY enthusiastic about this. Oh, and yeah, we’re going to space on a student exchange thing tomorrow. Space cops, you know? I guess they’ve gotten a lot of “Surprise! You have a teenage kid!” lately, too. (No, seriously, there should be a quicker way of saying that…) And now we’re all caught up! Or, you know, as caught up as I plan to get. I have NO plans of turning this into a comic book, anyway.

Supers in space (again)

A surprisingly interesting tale centered on Ward's "growth". I really like how even though each book tends to center on one character, all the characters have their own unique voice, personalities and powers. A giant addition to the Cape High series.

Bright spot

Today has been a miserable day: pain, illness, and a family death.
This book was fun, compelling, and a joy despite the rest of my day.
Not recommended for those new to the series, but a delight for returning readers.

I loved this book. I read it for the second time these last two days, and discovered that it was even better than I remembered it.

Now mind you, I like each and every one of R.J.Ross' books, some more some less, the biggest problem is that sometimes the pacing of the book is a bit off. And while I remembered having that feeling for Mega Me on the first read, on the second read I did not. Ward is hilarious and it was a joy reading a book where he has more interactions (and more sass) than he had until this point. It's an absolute joy to read the books of Cape High, to get to know these amazing, beautiful and insane characters. I can't praise R.J. enough.
