The Rebirth of the Last Days and Return to [Fang] Hao

Rate this book
Before rebirth, He Zizhong was unfortunate. This loyal dog was loyal to the wrong target. In the difficult end times, he was betrayed by his relatives, deceived by his lover to show his space, and was sadly chased by the enemy.

It wasn’t until before he died that he learned that Fang Hao, who accompanied him all the way, turned out to be the junior brother who confessed to him in high school. It’s a pity that he died too, in his arms.

In He Zizhong’s past life, Fang Hao felt that he was lucky, after six or seven years, in the desperate apocalypse, he found the senior who was his first love again, and he could accompany him for half a year.

More importantly, at the end of life, you can still die in the arms of someone you like. Is there anything happier in the world?

After rebirth, He Zizhong reused facts to prove that of course there is something happier in this world than death at the same point.

With a space and a lover who he has vowed to protect in this life, hitting zombies, upgrading and creating a better life together, this is He Zizhong’s life goal after rebirth. What do you do when you encounter a lover who has cheated on your feelings in your previous life, a selfishly wants to deceive your own space cousin, or issues a killing order to chase down your love rival?

Since they can’t get around, step on them in the mud with one foot!

3/5 🌟

This is my first rebirth danmei in a post-apocalyptic setting. It's actually fun to see an MC reborn in a pre-apocalyptic time with the knowledge of the impending disaster. He's way ahead compared to everyone not just because of his awareness of the apocalypse but because he has a cheat-like
magical space, but who cares whether it's too OP of a character setting for their taste? I actually liked that even though he has these advantages, it's not exactly a smooth ride with him and the ML. His advantages is what makes this so much more fun. Anticlimactic ending though, but the journey is the best part. This might have zombies involved, but this has a more slice of life feel that I loved.

This novel opened my mind to a whole different sub-genre. I'm still currently in my rebirth/transmigration era (whether modern or historical) and now in a post-apocalyptic setting? I'll definitely find more of these.

I am a little so so on this one. The Otaku's Rebirth story by the same author is one of my favorite slice of life/apocalypse stories. However this one fell short.

The main character has such a "gold finger" that you never feel like he is in any danger or that anything will go wrong at any time. The relationship develops and is a done deal in the first few chapters, so no excitement there either. The villains drop dead without the MC doing much about it, so once again nothing all that exciting.

So all in all it does not keep the reader engaged. That being said it is still entertaining enough if you are in the mood for this kind of book and have nothing else to read.

I gave it a 4 out of 5 simply because I wasn't a fan of the ending but overall I loved the story. I'm not sure if I would read it again simply because it was really long and I didn't like it to the point where I would reread it again.

Time the fuck out that really happened that ending. Are you serious? No fucking way! Oh my god!

I loved this story I did but I always wondered how the story was going to end simply because it was a zombie story and those are peculiar in their own right. How do you defeat all of the zombies in the world? You killed them but if zombie plants or mutant plants are in the mix it's different right? I just didn't know how it was going to end but never did I think it would end this way.

He Zizhong was a character I loved him and I thought all of his personal growth by the end of the story showed especially when he was willing to put everyone in his space so they would survive simply because he cared about them and grew a bond with them. It showed that revenge didn't matter and that he could get over his past and build bonds. I was so glad to see that he didn't lock himself away in the space as he could have but defended the people he grew to like.

As for Fang Hao, he didn't have the same personal growth simply because he didn't have past memories as He Zizhong but you could tell that he grew to care about others as well and not just He Zizhong. I think they have grown and should have shared the food from in the space even if they had to out themselves in my opinion.

Another thing I really liked about the story was that they grew real friendships and the friendships meant a lot to all of the characters, not just the main characters. I loved that the main characters especially He Zizhong was able to grow to trust the people he was around and want to save them if something was to happen to them. In the story, he always told Fang Hao to go into the space if anything bad was to happen to tell Fang Hao to save others with the same ability he has been hiding from everyone it was the sweetest part in the book to me. It actually made me proud of him.

Not the best zombie apocalypse c-novel I've read and not the worst. The biggest flaw is probably that it goes for too long which starts to dull the enjoyment of the good parts. I'm also still confused by the ending, it wraps up in 1 or 2 chapters without much explanation and a lot of convenient coincidences.

[I also have to dock points for have zero female characters who aren't scheming shrews or useless sl*ts. Chinese writers, PLEASE. Lose this trope and never find it again.]

He was reborn before the apocalypse and saw the one person who was always there for him. He has a magical space that can grow food and store things. He gets ready for the end times with the help of his friend. They become lovers. They go through the end times together.
