Claremont has written many stories for other publishers including the Star Trek Debt of Honor graphic novel, his creator-owned Sovereign Seven for DC Comics and Aliens vs Predator for Dark Horse Comics. He also wrote a few issues of the series WildC.A.T.s (volume 1, issues #10-13) at Image Comics, which introduced his creator-owned character, Huntsman.
Outside of comics, Claremont co-wrote the Chronicles of the Shadow War trilogy, Shadow Moon (1995), Shadow Dawn (1996), and Shadow Star (1999), with George Lucas. This trilogy continues the story of Elora Danan from the movie Willow. In the 1980s, he also wrote a science fiction trilogy about female starship pilot Nicole Shea, consisting of First Flight (1987), Grounded! (1991), and Sundowner (1994). Claremont was also a contributor to the Wild Cards anthology series.

An okay start to this flashback story. I get why the art was made to look like a 90s comic, but I really wasn’t a fan of it. Guess we’ll see how the rest of this plays out...

Gambit was always my favorite X-Men growing up. Sadly, his solo comics just never hit but as a fan I would always read them. This immeditaely had my attention as it is written by Claremont, a man that wrote some of the stories I enjoyed most growing up. I liked that this is connected closely to old school characters and stories from the Uncanny X-Men. The art was a let down but this one is off to a more promising start than his other solo shots. We get a young Storm learning from Remy as they prepare for the Shadow King. Fun and light with the flaire one would expect from Gambit.

Decent start to a new series — although the meat of it was more about Ororo and not Remy . Hopefully. That changes.
All in all, I’m glad Gambit has his own series again, mini-series or no.

This series is funny because Claremont didn’t create gambit nor did he write for him for a long time

Gambit and a Young Storm just kind of hanging out with and enemy looming.

This is a very misleading title. It should be Gambit & Storm. And what's up with Storm being a teenager young girl with Gambit being like in his 30's?
There is not so much action or fighting scene from either Gambit or Storm using their mutant power, if that's what you're expecting.
Not a good start for a 5 issues of mini series. The artwork is nothing exciting for me. The way its drawn looks like a drawing in the 90's while i understand the background timeline. Well maybe that's the purpose.
