This is book three of the Detective Morgan Foster Vigilante Justice Thriller series and Morgan is visited by a man called Duncan who she knows, but who seems very worried and pale. He received an email from his best friend’s son Billy Bruce, which is worded with code words Duncan and Billy’s father used in their Army Ranger days, meaning he is in danger and needs help. He had promised Billy’s dad as he was dying, that he would look after his son. Duncan has figured that Billy is secretly a CIA agent and he travels all over the world for is job. Morgan is no longer a detective, so she isn’t quite sure how she can help Duncan. It is only a year since she got out of WITSEC and her son Danny is off at college. Billy as seen something he shouldn’t have out at an Iranian uranium enrichment sites and has only just escaped with his life and the secrets he gathered during his time there. He has managed to avoid the Iranian Ministry agents who have tried to follow him everywhere and gotten out of the country, but he isn’t out of danger yet!
Duncan is clear to Morgan, that no one at the CIA can help Billy and that he doesn’t trust them to help. Something about the last time he spoke to his handler Ruby, wasn’t quite right and he isn’t sure who to trust. The only other time he had a feeling like this, it nearly got him captured by the enemy, as he only listened to his gut at the last minute. He trusts Duncan and soon has to trust in Morgan as well, as the only ones who can put him in touch with the only other person in the CIA that he could trust. Somehow the Iranian assassins who were after him in Iran, have managed to trace him to where he is in the States and are determined to wipe him out and anyone else he may have spoken to, as well as get the information he brought out of their country. There is obviously a traitor feeding them his location and he hasn’t exactly gone anywhere they should have known about. With Morgan being his contact now, they are hunting her down as well and only her faithful rescue dog, alerts her to intruders and allows her the time to get ready for what is coming. People are ending up dead around her and she is having to use deadly force just to keep herself alive and Billy’s information safe from the wrong hands!
A great mix of spy stuff, thrills and dangers coming from unexpected directions. Morgan brings a realness to the tale, with enough suffering and weird stuff she has gone through in recent years, some of which still makes her freeze and panic, but she can also deal with such deadly events and make it out the other side. You never quite know what is going to happen next and you are just left rooting for Billy, Morgan and Duncan, hoping they will all survive in the end! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Just an ok storyline. Morgan helps her friend the owner of the shooting range she frequents find & "save" Bill a CIA agent. Somehow Bill is always found/tracked by the bad guys (never really explained how), then Morgan is being tracked (also never fully explained). There is a mole/double agent involved but not who you originally thought.

They find the wounded Bill, can't get him to agree to go to a hospital. The bad guys find Bill and blow up his location - yet the gun given to him is missing- so is he dead or what (never explained).

Morgan still suffers from her panic attacks but has yet to see someone or get help for them. At some point she will have them at the wrong time.
Lots of missing pieces for an ok story.

Another interesting Morgan Harper vigilante justice thriller from KJ Kalis. The third in this series, this book is stand-alone but an excellent continuation of the exploits of Morgan as she makes her way back into her own life and world. This story keeps you on your toes, as Morgan attempts to find the son of a family friend, a man holding secrets so hot he is afraid to go to his employer, the CIA, with them. I can't go wrong with KJ Kalis. She consistently keeps me up past my bedtime.

Non stop

When I started to read this book I wasn't really sure if an espionage, CIA, foreign country would hold my attention long enough to finish. Guess I was wrong. Read straight through to the end. Enjoyed! Had me trying the 'guess who it was' throughout the whole book. I was wrong. Great read!

Spy Games

Morgan is drawn into a vicious game of espionage. Joining forces city her friend Duncan she endeavors to bring justice to a CIA agent who sacrificed his life.

Fast paced this was a suspenseful read. Kind of improbable but fun nonetheless. Frankly Morgan's dog steals the show.

This is another good book in the series of Morgan Foster. Lot's of action. Great characters too. Morgan was a Police Detective, but she is now on her own. Using the few contacts she has left, she tries to find out whom she can trust to give a thumb drive to without it falling into the wrong hands. The bad guys almost win.
Highly recommended.

Couldn't put it down!

Ms Kalis had my attention from the start. Believable characters and storyline made for a wild ride all the way to the end. Get it and read it now! You won't be sorry.

Get ready for CIA action. Another edge-of-your-seat thriller by a really great author.

I loved the book..read it in 3 days! The only thing I missed is her little dog Bo. What happened to him? I thought he was a great complement to her living alone with her son in college. I kept thinking he would pop up in the book someplace, but never did!

didn't finish the book, too boring. Way too many irrelevant details that went way too far in the description. Without these details it would have qualified as a short story. Sorry about this review but i an getting more and more disappointed with her stories. Started out great but now i will stop buying her books.
