This was sooo much better than the other two (I thought they were okay, but nothing impressive).
This damn book blows them out of the water. So much heart as they battle for the world. There was a lot less telling in here too, and more just being in the moment. It's a very epic conclusion to the trilogy, so much action and you can feel the tension and the stakes that go along with it.
I do think the letter shouldn't have been broken up though, because those always hit harder. What can I say, I like a little salt rubbed into my wounds.
It did clear up my confusion when I saw this was the last book but that there's a book four… spin off series! Possibly. But maybe. Side characters off on their own adventures, and I really hope Skye gets one because nothing could top ghost romance.

“Okay. Deep breaths. So your boyfriend is on fire. No big deal, Tatum.”

This was a surprisingly amazing conclusion (🤔 more on this later) to this trilogy. Not that I was expecting it to not be good. Nope. I knew it would be. But it was so much more. The pacing was incredible. The events creating tension up to the battle were divine (no pun intended 👀) and the Angel gang exceptional. Gage & Tatum’s relationship had both swoony and heartbreaking moments and were everything I could ever hope for. And the new character was chef’s kiss 💋 (more on that also later).

Tatum’s character was in full post arc mode and it gives me chills remembering how flawless she was. The letters. The godd*mn letters 😭 And Gage’s personal struggles were done just right. I was there with them, suffering with them and happy for them. What a journey since that first (not so cute) meet cute 😏

Now, the later. Harley. My goodness, I love her. She’s my people. I’m her people. Don’t you agree Dash?! 👀 I didn’t know I needed her character in this trilogy but I did. I so did. And is it just me or we’re totally going to get a spinoff series?! No? Yes? Regardless, I’m manifesting this immediately!!!!! Harley, Dash. Rescue mission with Skye’s help. I need it. It must happen. And can I get an ARC? 🫢🫢🫢🫢

This book is perfect for those who love:
🖤angels and demons
🖤epic battles
🖤found family
🖤he loves her, he’s afraid of hurting her
🖤love letters
🖤kick*ss supporting cast

Genre: urban fantasy, Not RH
Themes: Angels, Demons, Shades, Lumen, the good fighting against the bad
Protagonist Ages: FMC 18
Pacing: Medium
Plot: rating: 3.5 stars, story is plot driven

The final book in the series? Well final book in Tatum’s and Gage’s PNR. But the author duet are thinking about a fourth book and that will start the Harley and Dash story. I liked the last book of Tatum-Gage story. It was what you expect when you pick up a book written by Leia Stone. And I would read the story for the next couple, but I am glad that I waited until the first part of the series was finished and I could read the second and the third book without a waiting, how the story will end.

Such a great ending to this series. Loads of action, all the feels. I was seriously struggling not to cry towards the end. Ok fine. I cried a little. I’m left a little dazed, after things got more intense and faster paced as the story went on. After the battles and revelations of the previous book, Tatum has even more on her shoulders now. To keep all her loved ones safe and rescue all the souls being held and abused, there’s a lot she needs to do. And gathering her people is just the start.
After all those rescues, chases, battles and heartfelt confrontations, I think I need to go read a fluffy, zero angst, small town romance to get me past the book hangover I can feel hovering over me.

Loved 💖💖

This trilogy was so good and I really hope the they do a book 4 following Harley 🤞 I normally read books with lots of spice but the storyline was so good and kept me so engaged I didn't really notice it's absence.
This final book was a real tear jerker towards the end 😢 😪

In the final book the end game plan is still the same kill evil father incarnate, save her bf, free the souls trapped in the netherworld and save the world. Such a wild ride and I loved every minute of it.
If this books in your TBR pile put it to the top and binge it now 😉

Definitely Recommend Reading

Not a bad conclusion but I didn’t love it

This is a good HEA conclusion and I liked where it ended. The authors built a creative and well developed world. I was definitely loving the last 3 chapters but that’s really all I loved. The rest was really repetitive and long winded. I ended up skimming pages at a time and only missing internal dialogue of plans to make or what was going to happen. I really love both of these authors but this series just wasn’t my favorite.

This whole series has been fantastic and this was a great conclusion. It check all the boxes off and gave us a HEA even though it gave me a few heart palpitations towards the end.
I laughed, I cried and I was even ready to throat punch a few people! I loved this rag-tag group. so if a found family is your jam defiantly check this series out.

Tatum is an angel, pun intended. She gives and gives of herself even when those people push her away and lord do they...often. There were a few times I wish she had stood up for herself a bit more. (I'm looking at you, Gage. )
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gage but there were a few times I thought he was a bit unfair towards Tatum... He constantly looked out for Tatum but also occasionally treated her unfairly in the name of keeping her safe. Like when she just wanted to spend quality time with him and he was like that's not a good idea, I'm not sure I can control the beast. I get what he was trying to do but it was hurtful for Tatum. She felt rejected. It was a little nice to see the tables turned at the end. Maybe I'm just petty. LOL
See, now I feel bad. He had a lot of trauma in his life and every time things started looking up they would go to pot again. So I get him, I really do. It's hard stuff for him.
Here I am writing a dissertation on Gage's emotional damage. For me, that's the sign of a good book. When I'm so emotionally involved with fictional people. LOL

what a conclusion!

Ok. This book redeemed the story for me.

I have definitely found my enjoyment with the story again with this book. I enjoyed the direction it went and the growth of the characters. Definitely some twists I wasn’t expecting which made the book go from a good read to a great read. The excitement was there, suspense and the HEA. I also love that tidbit of mystery and that there is more to come so I’m looking forward to that.

Great characters, they all came together, and I could see their chemistry and dynamics working. Also, some additions I wasn’t expecting which was great. I feel like this book truly redeemed the series after feeling like something was missing from book 2. This world was amazing, and I enjoyed being immersed in it. I love the uniqueness and originality and I hope we see more of this world in the future. I feel like we still have so much to explore, and I can’t wait to see where it goes if we do.

Great job authors thoroughly enjoyed this, and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for the future.

I really enjoyed this series! It’s similar to Leia Stone’s Fallen Academy series (as both have the angels-fighting-demons trope) but you can even tell it’s her who wrote Wolf Girl and Vampire Hunter Society as well, although they’re not related in themes. I like her writing style and the way she constructs her stories ect., even though I have a few critique points. The biggest one is how one dimensional the characters were in this series. Like I couldn’t tell you more about Jacob than that he’s cocky about his wings and jealous of anyone with more power than him. The only thing I know about Marlow is her friendship with Skye and I couldn’t name you a single character trait that was well developed and distinguished. The side characters barley get any personality and I think that’s a lot of missed potential. I can’t recall if this was the case for her other books as well, since it’s been quite long since I read those, but I do remember liking the characters more. Stone’s stories never feel that complicated to me, rather easy- going and simplistic and I’m not sure if that’s good or bad. They’re easy reads but there could be more to them. I haven’t read any of Julie Hall’s books yet, so I can’t really say anything about her part in the Shadow Angel series.
In conclusion, I’d say these weren’t Stone’s best books, but there’s potential and I still liked them. 4/5

Great ending!

I always love happy endings, but this one's special because these authors made me cry first. I know, I know, it's silly. I already knew that there will be a happy ending. I mean, Leia Stone? Duh! Haha!(I haven't read any book by Julie Hall). However, I still felt everything. Though I love the action parts, the emotional parts are just as good. I love the devotion of the group. I love that the plot was solid and I also love the possibility of another book for other characters! ^_^ Ahhhh! THAT is exciting!

Good read!

I can't wait to for the series from Harley's point of view that was talked about in the end of the book, because this series was amazing, and it had the perfect ending.

I was so happy to see they added Gages point of view near the end of the book it made the book so much better.

This is a book filled with excitement and just the right amount of heartfelt moments, and a battle to never forget.

Absolutely phenomenal!! I loved it from cover to cover. I wish that it was longer (because I'm greedy and didn't want it to end!!) There are some loose ends, so I'll be looking for some spin offs!! If you haven't read the others, start there! Excellent series!!!

4.5 ⭐️ What a thrilling and crazy ride this book was! Absolutely loved the journey that Leia and Julie took me on. The characters are loveable the story line is intriguing and keeps you guessing what will happen next. It’s full of energy and life and if you have loved books 1&2 this will definitely have you engulfed, even more so then those first books. So good luck escaping the pull that will completely ensnare you. It’s full of all the feels and will definitely have you stressing throughout the book. Those ending scenes….dang…that was INTENSE.

I really Loved how Gauge and Tatum’s story was wrapped up…whilst also leaving it open for a spin-off which I find intriguing for sure.

Was a perfectly constructed and fast paced YA book and definitely recommend reading!

I got this Advanced Reading Copy (as I did for the previous 2 books in this series) and Wow! I don’t want to drop spoilers, but I laughed, my heart was pounding, I grinned at certain events, and I feel very satisfied! I really did enjoy this supernatural, young adult series. FYI: There is occasional language and a bit of steamy romance, if either of those things are flags for you in novels about older teenagers.

Defeating the Devil

Tatum is still distraught over Gage’s new hellhound form and her father’s ability to control him. She knows that time is counting down towards her fight with her father and is unsure how she is going to have the power to beat him. As she explores the rumor that she may have a sister, there is a whole new world opening up to her. This final installment is quite enjoyable with lots of twists and turns. I did wish for a little more investment in the relationship building (romantic and platonic) as that’s one thing I’ve always appreciated about Leia’s writing.

Shadow Angel: Book Three

by Leia Stone & Julie Hall

Book 3 in the Shadow Angel series

Rating: 4/5

What a way to end a series! This was a whirlwind! I kept thinking that there wasn't enough time to finish the series yet. I was pleasantly surprised by how the authors were able to bring closure while also introducing a new character and explaining more of the mythology. Did I feel the book ended too quickly? Yes. Am I excited for a spinoff? Definitely. Do I regret reading this series? Never. LOL. Please read this series in order or you will be lost. They are quick and easy reads full of action and intrigue and romance.

First, the book covers continue to be brilliant and beautiful.
Second, I liked reading about strong heroines at every corner. The authors are amazing at writing strong and intelligent female characters who are still relatable and even make mistakes at times. They feel what they feel but also aren't afraid to go after what they want. They protect their loved ones without regret.
Third, I always love a good redemption story. From the very beginning, we (the reader) are rooting for Gage and cannot wait to see what happens next. His story advances quickly and I was happy to look behind the curtain for what happened with Cael.
Fourth, I again cannot wait for what comes next. I need the next part. And I always appreciate an epilogue.

PG-13 content.

Highly recommend if you enjoy YA urban fantasy with light vs. dark action and romance.

My thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.

Enemies to Lovers/Single PoV/Angels & Gods

SYNOPSIS (of Trilogy): The FC is a waitress in a diner when she starts to see things, demons. She then discovers that she is an angel Guardian and at the age of 18 such guardians must choose between light and shadow. Usually those who will be guardians know from birth but the FC only finds out a week before she must make the choice. The confusion over her choice is compounded by discovering that her grandmother had been cursed by the shades in order to force her to choose shade over light. It further transpires that the FC is the daughter of the fallen angel that created the shades and who has been battling the light for hundreds of years. He wants to take her so that she can free him from hell where he has been forced to remain. The story arc covers the development of the FC’s relationship with the MC, a tortured shade guardian and how she grows into her new powers in order to save the world from the dark and her father.

Heat Level: 🌶️🌶️/🍆🍆 The heat picks up in the later books but is low level, well written but does not take over the story. It is all pretty vanilla but hot.

The trilogy is well written and the story is enjoyable with sufficient action and drama to keep it moving ahead and retaining the reader’s interest. There’s some violence (not graphic or OTT), drama and angst with plenty of fight scenes an action.

The FC is strong and kick ass with a likeable dark, angst driven MC. If you can get over the insta love from the FC’s side in respect of the MC (they spent maybe 24 hours together and apparently the FC was suddenly deeply in love) there was a good relationship building between the FC/MC as the story got going. The worldbuilding is strong and detailed with good development of the secondary characters and each of their relationships. They added good depth to the story.

The fact that the MC seemed to always be getting hurt or something happening to him was a bit frustrating and the friendships were a bit “insta friend” especially when it came to Indy who the FC met for all of 5 minutes but immediately became besties with. Each book ends on a cliffhanger of sorts which are resolved in the following book.

Overall an enjoyable read with plenty of action and a bit of heat.

Shadow Angel book three coauthored by Leia Stone and Julie Hall.

I never wanted this series to end, I love everything and everyone. But I love, love, loved the little sneak peak at the end and I am super excited to see how things pan out.

This picks up right after the events in book two and the action never stops. If you have read books 1 and 2 than you know how much Tatum’s world has been turned upside down, well be prepared to have your heart destroyed even more. This finale is action packed, with suspense, heartache, with some very sweet and enjoyable moments. But don’t be fooled these authors will have you on the edge of your seat, nail biting till the very end.

Without giving any spoilers away, all I can say is be prepared, don’t go in thinking that just cause this is the last book for Tatum and Gage, that everything is going to be rainbows and sunshine, and that the big bad evil is going to get its butt kicked and everyone lives happily ever after. Cause nothing good ever comes easy, things have to go horribly wrong before it can be righted ad trust me, that is what was delivered.

Thank you ladies for bring these world to life and giving us Tatum and Gage. I can’t wait to see what you wonderful authors bring us in the future.

Angels done right

Normally when searching for a book to read on kindle I dwindle it down to: Young adult, romance, science fiction, and dystopian or post apocalyptic. Then I look at the results from there. So usually when I’m on the hunt and I see a book with and Angel on the front my eyes just scroll right by it. That’s just me. But something about this book series sucked me into reading the description and then buying the first book. I’m so glad I did. Tate was an amazing character that I really felt a connection to. The love aspect was *chefs kiss*. I know a book is good when there’s so much depth to the plot that I think to myself that there’s no way they can fit everything into just three books. It’s even hard for me to grasp that the characters aren’t real people that’s how well they were written lol. I cared about all of them and their well being. I’m not a writer so I know this review may not come off that great buuutt if you’re considering this series and you’re not usually into the angel thing then I’m telling you this book series has a lot to offer and will have you feeling every emotion under the sun.

Tatum’s mission to destroy Apollyon and free the souls trapped in the Netherworld is rapidly approaching. But life is complicated by the discovery of her sister and the fact that her boyfriend is now a hellhound controlled by Apollyon. Plus, she’s cursed to die if she tries to kill Apollyon herself. So how can she defeat an enemy she can’t kill without dying?

This was a good conclusion to the trilogy but I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first two books. There were several big tasks to complete which made it feel like objectives were shifting a lot, affecting the focus and pace. Plus, Tatum seemed to have more boyfriend obsession in this book than the previous ones and since there was so much to accomplish, I found it a little distracting and repetitive. I wanted them to have their happy ending, I just felt there were some moments where she was obsessing or wallowing and she had more urgent things to do.

The Angel Gang had each other’s backs consistently and I loved the strong friendships in this whole series. No nastiness or betrayals. The ending was satisfying and I enjoy the brief POV shift to Gage toward the end.

Overall, this was a fun, fast-paced YA fantasy series with found family, clean romance, and interesting reveals.

Hall & Stone finish this series with plenty of new twists in the plot & an abundance of action! They stay true to the YA genre with some kissing and attraction but nothing intimate. Their writing meshes well together and is well balanced throughout the series. A little bit was predictable but didn’t detract from the overall story. I loved seeing the transformation many of their characters take; even opening the minds of the Lumens to be more accepting of some of their Shade counterparts.

Aside from not feeling a strong connection with Gage, the male main character (personal preference), my only criticism is I wish they had simplified the titles of the different factions. I don’t think it was necessary for the Shades to also be called Watchers without any difference in meanings. But that’s me being technical and is a pretty minor thing.

The end was climactic, full of action & uncertainty, and perfect for the series. I think the authors did a great job and made a modern and epic YA Angelic/Demonic series that I hope is super successful!

Such a fantastic ending to a great series! I never regret picking up a book that Leia Stone has a hand in and I’ve become a fan of Julie Hall now as well.
From the beginning of this series, I was hooked. I loved the good vs evil angle.
There has been constant action through these books. The last book had me gasping and struggling and on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next and it just continued on into this one. Tate is fierce and has so much weight on her shoulders and everything is coming to a boiling point. It’s time to either succeed and save those she loves and even more souls beyond that or to lose not only her life but the lives of many others and the fate of the world that they know.
Harley…hello sister! That’s just crazy and sad and beautiful and just so many things.
Then there’s Tate and Gage. Oh the slow burn!! I LOVE these two together. All the feels!
Leia and Julie did a brilliant job when they created this world. I’m crossing my fingers for possibly more books that are a spin-off from this series!

What an emotional roller coaster this book was! Gage finally becomes a relationship guy. I'm so proud of Tate for getting mad and yelling at Cael finally. When she loves someone she proves she will do anything to protect them. Plus she will make sure they survive and have the life she thinks they deserve. And when Skye tells her that you don't just go talk to whomever you want in Avalon, Tate stands her ground. Let's face it if Skye & Tate's roles were reversed Skye would be marching up to Avalon too. She's bold & tells it like it is. I think deep down Skye is proud. I absolutely love Harley! Please Leia & Julie write Harley & Dash's story. It's so obvious Dash likes her. If a guy is carrying you around all the time he likes you! And they are definitely making a series based on Harley & Dash. I can't wait after the shades lose their powers it will be interesting to see how they save Dash's relative. Gage makes a beautiful transformation from hellhound into something else. The vision you planted in my head is so cool. I already love this book.

Book 3 in the Shadow Angel series

WOW!!! Julie and Leia pulled all the stops in this book. My emotions took a roller coaster ride from despair to happiness to sadness to love to hope to outright sobbing. I'm not sure I could put into words how much I enjoyed this book. When facing an army of demons and hellhounds, don't take any chances. Sometimes the only way to be safe is to flee. Being broken but pieced back together better.

Finding your place. Sense of belonging. Defy the odds.

Lumen vs Shade...Join the Angel Gang of Watchers...Better Together...

Back-up Plan...Shadowling Sisters...Trust...Loyalty...Loss...Deceit...Guilt...Weakness...
Options...Hope...Found Family...Friends...Love...

"For you. To keep you safe, I would, in a heartbeat." "Loving you is easy."
"The big day. The battle. The fight for our lives."
"You're the only thing I never knew I needed."
"Now. Forever. Always."

What a conclusion! I don't even know where to start! I was worried that there wouldn't be enough time to fit everything in here that needed to be. No need to worry, though! I'll just say that I wasn't disappointed in that regard. In fact, I was quite impressed with the flow of it all and the setup for a spinoff series. So exciting!

There was never a dull moment. There were surprising twists and turns, tons of action, lots of laughs, and even some tears. I seriously did not expect to get so emotional!

This is a series that definitely needs to be read in order, so if you're a fan of this genre, grab the first book and be prepared to get completely sucked into this world.

I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.
