Adalyn knows that brokering a peace treaty between Pieriun and Chors won't be easy. Old wounds still fester and something, or someone, does not want them to heal.

Held captive in enemy territory, Adalyn’s torn between her duty to end this war and the responsibility of captain of the Banneret back home. To be free, she must sort through the rumors and discover who the puppet master of this war really is.

A dragon?

The prince’s mistress?

The answers were left in the past and only a worldwalker can find them.

Love. Magic and dragons and monsters and like a medieval-type setting, what more do I need? nothing. Idk if other people would call it cozy, but I would. It doesn't give me stupid amounts of stress thinking about what's gonna happen next but like I still need to keep reading to figure it out? Anyways, loving the love interest in this book vs book 1, much more fun imo lol and cannot wait for more! (also v big thank you to the author for giving me an arc!!) (all thoughts r my own tho)

**I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review**

I have mixed feelings about this book. I think it can easily be a favorite book for some people, but others aren't going to connect as well with it.

In short:
- Must read and remember book 1 to know what's going on in this one
- excellent worldbuilding and magic system
- Cast of characters all have strong voices
- Very fast-paced
- Very action focused
- I have a hard time connecting to the MC as she doesn't let us into her emotions often
- Love interest subplot is falling flat for me
- Adalyn uncovers new skills with her ability that are pretty awesome

First off, you cannot just jump into this book. You need to read the first one or you will be very, very lost if you pick this one up. It is a series that relies extremely heavily on the reader remembering what happened in the previous book. It's also fast paced. If you like to binge read your series then this would be the one to pick up.

On one hand we have a very vibrant world that has recently rediscovered magic and elements of space/time travel between two countries which used to be on the same plane of time. We have a young woman who is unwillingly thrown into leadership and its clear she's not convinced that she's cut out for that position or will continue leading if she's given another option. Each character has their own clear voice and personality.

On the other hand, I still can't seem to connect with Adalyn. I want to so badly though. This book has a lot of the elements that teen me and adult me enjoy. But I feel like I'm dragged along on Adalyn's journey and only catch brief superficial glimpses of who she is. I don't get a good understanding of her motives, her feelings, her weaknesses. All I get to see is a reluctant young woman who is doing what has to be done and not reacting much to the fact she's uncovered knowledge time and time again that will completely change everything in the world. She Once in a while we see her internally struggle with "I have never been a leader and now lead this whole group" but we never see her really mad, or sad, or broken, or even happy. I think the last couple chapters, particularly the cliffhanger is where I really felt her emotion.

This is a YA book so I'm not expecting a ton of focus on the love interest. BUT its very clear that is a subplot point. The resolution we got with the love interest in this book fell flat for me. I think this was because I just can't seem to connect with Adalyn. At times she's just pushing through and then she suddenly opens up randomly to another character but it still doesn't help me connect the way I need to. The paragraph or so resolution we got felt odd considering her age and the situation of it being her first love.

I did like the epilogue. I felt like it added a alternative side to the story that we needed to round out what we had just uncovered at the end.
The author has improved since her first book, which already had strong prose. The writing flowed more smoothly and was cohesive. The jumps in time and space made sense. I didn't have any points where I didn't understand how we got there. It's a fantastic concept and if you enjoy fast paced YA fantasy this would be a great book to try.

I rather enjoyed reading the second book in The Banneret Series. The main character Adalyn is really growing and is starting to understand her role in bringing the kingdoms together. Even her world walking becomes stronger but does she have more abilities that have not yet manifested?
Will there finally be peace between the kingdoms that have been at war for so long?
Does Adalyn truly love Nolan or does she have feelings for Venlian? There even is some relationship tension between Nolan and Venlian.

Best of all we now have DRAGONS. Seriously I didn’t expect that at all and was surprised that there are now dragons in this amazing world that the author had created. Even the magic is slowly coming back into the world that was without it for so long. How will that change the kingdom that was without magic for so long? Soldiers are coming back to a home that has rapidly changed and they were at war for so long how will they cope with it all? Can you image being at war and then going home to find that it all has changed in time throughout the years? The time difference between the kingdoms is quite interesting because of the spell barrier. Venlian is reunited with his father but because of the time difference from the spell barrier his is technically older and possibly wiser than his own father.

Who is this mistress that everyone is talking about and why did she want the two kingdoms to be in war? We discover the identity of the mistress that started it all and start to understand why in this book. The fact that Adalyn has the ability to not only read story books but also witness the story through being there is very incredibly and makes me a little bit jealous. I honestly would love to have that ability to be she scenes played out in some of the books that I read. That would be incredible. I can’t wait to get the next book in the series. So far I have loved not only the character development but even the world the author created is amazing. All in all a must read and I would highly recommend reading this series to everyone.

With the dramatic ending in book 1, I had to dive into book 2 immediately! Adalyn has found her footing, more or less, after being exposed to a magic she didn't know existed but heck, she didn't know that Elves or Dwarves existed either! And then she finds out there are Dragons too AND she's made the Captain of the Bannerett's! With time passing differently on Chors and Pierium, she and her fellow travelers have their work cut out for them, so many soldiers trapped by the time spell are sent on there way home to s vastly different world they had left from. All this information would be enough to overwhelm anyone, yet Adalyn wraps her head around all of this so proficiently, albeit with a few wobbles here and there. The plot keeps expanding and expanding, pulling me further and further into this world, a world where so many things are not quite how they should be, with Adalyn navigating through a riptide of events and emotions, all the while trying to stop a war that has spanned over 500 years. But slowly Adalyn puts the pieces together and her aid pays off, the King of Chors finally agrees to stop the war. I know that Neith was the culprit for these events but I could not help feeling sorry for her. Well maybe she did take retribution a bit too far but all I see is a lonely, different and confused soul, retaliating from a deep hurt within her, hurting even those she loved, unintentionally setting off a spiral chain reaction of monstrous proportion. Gosh did this book have tons of tense moments!

The budding romance petters out or rather changes gear in a very subtle way and I can't wait to see how the new development comes to pass.

So there you have it, a story of growth, a story of magic, a story of hope, a story of balance with Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, spirits, Golem, a story that comes to life and feels so real.

As with book I, this one once again ends with Adalyn in a perilous situation, a situation I desperately need to discover how or if she will get out of! Book 3?????

Adalyn and her friends of the Bannerette have travelled to the kingdom of Chors from their homeworld of Pieriun on the express orders of their new King, in order to negotiate a peace and stop the infamous waste of life that has occurred over centuries.
Being the leader and Captain of the Bannerette, Adalyn answers directly to the King himself. As a worldwalker, she has special abilities that prove to be an asset to the King and to her own survival.
The author has created a refreshing and entertaining tale of fantasy and fiction with love, hate, investigative techniques to find items as well as people who have an impact on what is going on with the world.
The plot is great and the author, with her gift, succeeds in virtually transporting
the reader on an adventure filled with magic, mythical creatures, love, treachery and action that makes this book a page turner that I highly recommend. 5 Stars Plus

Jamie Dalton continues The Banneret Series with Dragonborn. Adalyn is thrust into a whole new world as she becomes more familiar with her magic and what it means to be a Banneret. In this book you learn more about the war and the root cause of it all. Dalton leaves us with another cliffhanger and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.

I recieved this book as an arc for my honest review.

I absolutely love this book! This series has been one of my favorites to read. Its kept me interested this wholeeeeee time in both books!

So book 2 has our main character Adalyn going to Chors to help create a peace treaty with the 2 places. She now being the leader of the Banneret needs to also take care of the troops finally be called back to Pieriun. Having to explain to the people of Chors they have been stuck in a frozen world for so long was a difficult thing for everyone. Adalyn finds out when making it to the king of Chors again that his son and him have been under control of his sons mistress to the point making peace was becoming difficult! Nolan and Bevin's relationship starts to flower. As Adalyn and Venlian's relationship seems to be taking a turn also! We get to see more of our amazing golem friends as well. We get to see dragons and lizard typed people which was something fun and new. Adalyn gets to see the past happen and also jumps more into some books and gets to see the pov of characters! Adalyns powers started to increase and get better as she world walked more often. At one point she gets stuck in spirit form and doesnt know what to do!

"I was broken for a long time, and have only recently found a new light in my life."

I highly recommend these books! They are so good, i love the character build and the world building in these. It's such a great fantasy to get sucked into.(Wouldn't it be nice to literally be pulled into it and just watch it all happen though?!)

I absolutely loved this book. I literally couldn’t put this book down and read it within a day.

Just like the first book in this series I still definitely think that this book and series is unique. It definitely was not the same as other fantasy books that I’ve read and it was refreshing to read something mildly similar but also so different. Just like the first book in the series this book also had were elves, dwarves, as well magic and non-magic humans. And the romance? Well that was refreshing too – it wasn’t so completely smutty more along the lines of PG-13 or even PG.

I love how Jamie does her world building. To me she is a genius and she always makes me feel like im right there with the characters and in their world. As if I can envision it being right in front of me. I can feel each and every characters own personality in this book. I love how I was trying to figure out who you could trust and who you couldn’t trust.

The way she ended this book, ugh and omg!! Had me at the edge of me seat wanting me! I really hope that there is going to be a third book to this series and if there is I can’t wait to see what will happen and how far she takes this!

When we last left Adalyn’s group they were back in Chors being held at knife point by someone. While this book did answer the question of that encounter, it left me with even more questions. The relationships between the group are growing and changing. Adalyn is trying to figure out how to be a leader as she learns her powers. So much happens in this book. We find out how the war really started, and who caused it. The only thing I didn’t like was once again Adalyn was left in a precarious position. Luckily Jamie Dalton will be releasing it in Kindle Vella, so we will be able to read it as she writes it!

Jamie Dalton’s second installment of The Banneret series continues Adalyn’s magical adventure. Absolutely got a thrill out of the world building in this story. Time was frozen on one world so to speak but not on another. Soldiers going back home to return to things majority change. Things are just not what they seem and secrets are coming to light. Loved the magic and creatures that Adalyn discovers that are real. As the characters grow and develop in this story it just makes me love them more. Adalyn pushes through to lead her group even with doubts about having never lead before. Can’t wait to see how the romance evolves in the next book. The twists and cliffhanger has had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know more. Highly recommended.

This fun and adventurous novel picks up soon after the end of Worldwalker (book 1), where a team led by Adalyn head into the enemy castle for peace talks with their king. Held as guests by this king, Adalyn was forced to use her world walking ability to go between kingdoms and into historical books to figure out the mystery surrounding the kingdom before peace could be restored. It ended on a cliffhanger, which isn't my favorite thing, but it definitely sets the scene for the next book. I'm looking forward to more of Adalyn's adventures.

Book 2, the events resume from book 1. It is a lot harder for Adalyn to keep her abilities a secret, but that works in her favour in this situation. There are two time differences depending on whether they are in Pieriun or Chors. This makes for an interesting take on character relations and how they approach the battle. A good YA book with likeable characters.

4.5 ⭐️

This review is based on the ARC I received.

This sequel was a little hard for me to get into at the beginning. But I was invested by the end. The plot twist and cliffhanger have left me wanting more. I can’t wait to learn more about this world and find out what Adalyn will face next. Also I still love Venlian.

A great fantasy world but read book 1 first both worth your reading time. I love the idea of this story. It has all the things a fantasy read should, magic, fighting, dragons, questing. The world building is well done and is an enjoyable read. I did struggle with the ending not only is it a cliff hanger— again, I did feel lost with the ending epilogue.
