December Holidays: A Clean Contemporary Romance (Calendar Romance Book 12) by Eden Larsen
I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
December Holidays by Eden Larsen is book 12 in the Calendar Romance series. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy romance and the warm feeling of contentment that a sweet romance brings. As it is a sweet romance, there are no explicit scenes. Alexa Miller has had a hard time lately. Her emotions are still raw from a recent breakup. Coming to her rescue are her parents who run the Snow City Inn. Helping during the Holiday season, Alexa throws herself into the hustle and bustle of the hotel, using the work as an emotional crutch and a welcome distraction. When Nick Johnston breezes into the hotel, seeking shelter from a storm, Alexa can’t help reacting to his natural charm and good looks. Could he be the distraction she needs to ease her mind away from her ex, James?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the very beginning and I couldn’t stop reading. The author does a great job of describing the characters and settings. Snow City Inn is appealing being a family run concern, and I felt I was in amongst the clientele, enjoying the scenery. I like how even though Alexa is hurting from a breakup in a relationship, she handles herself very well. Feelings quickly form for both Nick and Alexa, taking her by surprise. Ones that initially she insists on suppressing.
This is a perfect holiday read, for when you are wrapped up in a cosy blanket and have a hot drink to hand. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. The storyline is fitting for this genre and it definitely has me wanting to read the other books in the series.
A great short story about Alexa Miller visiting her parents at the Inn they own in Vial, thinking helping them out on her vacation time will relieve some of the heartache over her break up with James. She offers her room in the inn to handsome Nick Johnson who has just found out there are no more rooms available in Vail and a blizzard has closed the highway he was driving from Denver to California to visit his mother. To show appreciation, Nick invites Alexa to lunch the next day and .... A sweet love story that includes a meetup with James.
I enjoyed this short story of a young woman mourning her somewhat recent breakup after two years with James. Although he was the one to end their relationship, she felt like it must have been her fault somehow. Her undeserved guilt kept her from moving on. Until she met Nick, a traveler stuck k at her parents inn because of a heavy snowstorm, she wanted James to come back. And then he did...
Alexa has gone to spend time with her parents after her boyfriend James broke their relationship off. She had been with James for two years and is unable to get over the hurt.
Then she meets Nick.
The story does become a bit complicated but everything turns out well in the end.
This is a quick but enjoyable read about moving on from a break-up. The pacing was good. The characters were relatable and developed decently, especially for a short read. If you're looking for a easy, enjoyable quick read-this is it!
