*4.5* We are all misfits, yet together we make a perfect pack for the fairy who has lost so much.

✔️Reverse harem, ABO, FMMMMMM
✔️Claiming, mating, knotting, rutting
✔️Copious amounts of body fluids
✔️Huge size differences
✔️Gentle giants
✔️Humorous dialogue
✔️Dirty talking and praise kink
✔️DP/DVP
✔️No ow/om drama
✔️No purposeful sword crossing

Once upon a time, there was a cute little fairy with dainty wings and red hair that stuck out all over the place. Unbeknownst to her, while she suffers at the hand of a dark Fae King, six warriors rush to be at her side, and in her nest.

The story was somewhat tame until the 50% mark.

After that it’s pretty much a kinky game of clue:
In the bedroom with the stag
In the garden with the orc
In the library with the alpha
In the tub with the beta
In the nest with the werebeast (in beast form) 🫣
In the stables with the centaur
And the GROUP scene, no words

I sigh heavily. “Tell me you have not rutted her in that form.”

“I have not rutted her in this form,” he says.

I’m relieved about this, and then my eyes narrow. “Do not fucking lie to me.”

*Most of the books in this series do not have to be read in order. This one is fine as a standalone. HEA!

If someone can leave 1 star for a book that won't be published for another year, then I'm going to leave 5 stars to balance it. Do I think this is right? No: rating a book that most likely hasn't even been written yet makes a mockery of the entire review process. I'll never understand why GR allows ratings on books with such far-off release dates.

To sum up the entire book:

first 30% story and introduction + entire 70% smut between h and her 6 different mates, all of which are different species introduced in the series so far.

The cover is resplendent and describes the h perfectly. I didn't like this one in the series as much as some of the other ones.

4.5/5

LV Lane is my go-to for monster smut; this book is one more example of why! Stolen by Darkness is such a fun and sexy read. There is virtually no angst, so it is perfect for grabbing when you are looking for an easy read with high smut.

If you are a monster lover, this is an excellent choice with its choose-your-own adventure-style mixed-species pack of shifters, an orc, a centaur, and a human alpha. Do you like knots? You have several forms to experience here. Do you like extreme size differences? The males are substantially larger than the female fairy omega, but the Orc and Centaur are huge, dwarfing her form. Do you like the goodness of Omegaverse with heats, slick, knotting, nesting, matings, and claiming? This has all that and more. Is dirty talk your jam? There is so much to enjoy! The only thing I would have liked more of is a more substantial plot. I felt it was weak on that end.

This is fast burn and high steam throughout. All pairings are MF or MFM+ with one EPIC heat sequence you do not want to miss.

I love the Coveted Prey Series, and this installment fits in well. I always look forward to more from this universe.

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Omegaverse, Monster
Tropes/Features: Omegaverse, Monster, Mixed species ‘pack’ – Wolf shifters, stag shifter, orc, centaur, alpha human. Omega fairy, Size differences, Fancy peen, Knots and knotting, slick, nesting, mating, bonding, heats, claiming bites
Narrator: Multiple 1st Person POV
Relationship Type: Why Choose MFMMMMM
Book Type/Ending: Standalone with HEA, Coveted Prey Series

- FMC: Briar (omega fairy)
- MMC's: Alder (stag shifter), Edwin (orc), Jesse (beta dire wolf shifter), Caleb (alpha human), Tate (alpha dire wolf shifter), Barok (centaur)
- POVs Included: Multiple POVs (Alder, Briar, Caleb, Tate, Barok, Jesse, Edwin)

-----------------------------------

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Briar is the last fairy with wings. And because of her high blood, she has powerful magic. So she has been living under the thumb of a tyrannical dark fae owner who drinks her blood for power and rules her once-happy citadel with cruelty.

When at last, a group of men come to overthrow the man who has enslaved her, she is relieved. But Alder and his crew have plans for Briar. Plans, it turns out, she is more than okay with.

REVIEW:

This was pretty cute and steamy too.

I liked Briar. She was sweet and fun -- and lusty (as her mates would say). I enjoyed her personality and thought she was pretty cute.

I liked all of her mates too.

At first Alder isn't on board with sharing her (he claims her first), but once he works out that she needs all of them, he is open to sharing.

Edwin was pretty adorable. He's like this big gruff guy who is a total teddy bear for her. I loved it.

Jesse did not win me over at first with how he talked about Briar. But he soon changed his tune and became a real source of comfort for her. So in the end I liked him.

Caleb was strong and dominant and I liked that about him. He is also best friends with Alder and I enjoyed their threesomes with Briar before the bigger group scenes started. Pretty hot!

Tate I didn't feel like we got to know very well. Him and Barok came in at the end and didn't get as much page time with Briar. But he was alright.

Barok is the centaur that first appeared in The Centaur in My Valley (he was going to mate Hope and Calden challenged him for her). He was also in The Centaur in My Dreams where he was Grimm's second in command at the Dires End portal. I liked him, but like with Tate, he didn't get as much page time so I didn't feel as connected to him.

The steam was PLENTY in this one. That's pretty much all it is. There are some side plots about Briar finally closing some pesky portals -- including the one that has been plaguing Dires End with monsters. So that was cool. But mostly it was just lots of sex. lol I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't have minded a little more plot as well as it got a little repetitive at times.

Overall it was a fun book. Sweet and sexy with good characters. Could've used more story than steam, but I still liked it.

A cute sexy funny fairy tale read with a loooot of rutting, knotting, enormous amounts of bodyfluids thanks to an orc and a centaur. The wolfshifters are so out of order they are rutting the little fairy in halfshift. The stag which is the leader ruts her the whole night they met and the only human is a dirty talker. The saddle for the centaur was a new experience 😀 theirs a bit plot but to be on the point: it’s a big fuck/ rutting/ knotting fest with a gentle orc, a naturally calm centaur, a dominant stag as the leader, two ott horny wolfshifter and an alpha human who is a dirty talker. 🥵

This book is well written but there is too much smut and not enough story. Harem is too large to get a good feel for the characters.

I'm not sure where to start!
L.V. Lane is an incredible author and the Coveted Prey series is a vast universe that just gets more and more added into it, it's fabulous! It's a huge world and though I would always recommend you start with book 1 - Stolen by Darkness is book number 12 and can be read as a stand-alone, just like the other books in this series, so you are not locked down wondering what's going on if you have just discovered the series and you start here on this newest release. But I still do recommend just starting from the start, even though Lane does such a good job at world-building and character development you won't be lost, but this world is quite big and different books are from different areas of the map, with different customs. :)

Stolen by Darkness is an Omegaverse book that will keep you turning the pages and you won't want to put it down. It's got banter and humour, sexy smut and romance, but it's also got amazing battle scenes and the 'red thread' is clear throughout the book.
L.V. Lane is a very strong author whose Omegaverse is some of the best I have ever read.
You always know that you will get a shit tonne of sexy smut that will make you look around making sure no one is reading over your shoulder - but also make you laugh at the antics of these Alphas.
Lane will also pull at your heartstrings, sometimes even at the same time as laughing, either way, you are bound to not be disappointed.

'Stolen by Darkness' is what I call a 'why choose' category of fantasy Omegaverse that features a female Omega and no less than five male Alphas and one Beta male, so you can imagine the spice meter is quite high here. ;)
This is a HEA with Epilogues (and you know how much I love the Epilogues, you gotta have them! :D)

I can't recommend this book and series enough and I gave it 5 burning stars. This is also definitely a level-five Fire book. ;)

I loved it!

Each book in this series has been great! I anticipate each new release. It’s the perfect blend of creature eradication, victory, wooing and fighting, lol There’s a great amount of steam because the Omega has multiple mates to sate, but it’s loving coupling with a bit of dominance. After all, an Omega must make her mate prove his worth by overcoming her defiance, mischief and sass !

I thoroughly enjoyed this romance and the heroine’s journey. It was hopeful and heartwarming. I also loved the descriptions of the fairy body language and needs, the author did a fabulous world building job there. The sizzling scenes were scorching, and I loved the relationship dynamics. The only think I think could have used improvement was I wanted a lot more of the centaur hero and his relationship and sizzling scenes with the heroine. I think that probably could have been improved if the novel was longer, so we got more time with them together. Aside from that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to others.

4.5 ⭐️’s…

Alder was on a mission to find the last fiary with wings. A murmur heard that developed into a dream, a hope and a new King.

When Alder destroys Sirius the dark fae he becomes the new king. He finds Briar in dire straits, she’s been under a dark lord’s reign used just for her high blood and who enjoyed breaking her wings when he was angry and being cruel.

Alder realizes that Briar is an omega but also his mate. He feeds her his blood to renew her and consummates their bonding as mates. But Briar is a frisky, feisty, horny little fairy and she’s got more mates in this castle to find.

Alder is not to happy to share her with his brothers in arms but soon realizes that his close friends will protect her and be what she needs also just doesn’t mean he’s happy about it.
Alder is an alpha deer stag high blood hybrid shifter, Jesse is a beta direwolf shifter, Edwin is an orc with just the cutest softest ears a little fairy likes to pet, Caleb is an Alpha warrior, Tate is a gorgeous alpha werebeast shifter and her last mate is Barok a centaur.

Boy what I wouldn’t give to be in Briars position or positions depending on which mate she’s with at the time.

Throughout the book we see Alder take over the kingdom as the rightful King. Then Briar as she figures out how to be an omega and getting to know each one of her mates. She also wants to fix the portals that have been allowing undead beasts through. Which will lead us to Dires End to finalize her last bond with Barok on his saddle contraption that centaurs use to keep their mate safe during coitus.

It was funny at times and silly at others which had me laughing along with the characters. Briar was a little stubborn mischief maker that kept her mates on their toes. Most of the books attention was on Briar and her mates which made this book a little steamy and intriguing.
Overall a great addition to the Coveted Prey series!

An orc, a stag shifter, an alpha, two wolf shifters, and a centaur - it's not surprising there was little room left for plot development.

But the little plot that was there I still skimmed over because this book had one purpose and one purpose only, which was to deliver scorching hot smut.

"I'm sorry," Alder says to Caleb. "It's the only way to settle her sometimes."

Oh? What is he going to do?

"No apology needed," Caleb says. "We have much to discuss and I daresay it's very boring for Briar to listen to."

My eyes nearly bug out of my head when Alder undoes his buckle. Does he intend to rut me while he talks to Caleb? My mouth pops open as he shucks his pants down and liberates his cock. It's hard and thick and already leaking pre-cum.

He pats his lap. "Come and lie down here, little lamb. You may suck my cock until you can sleep."

And then they just keep right on talking business. I swear I could've combusted spontaneously at that scene. Soooo good.

The best thing about the story in my humble opinion was the h just going along with the whole shebang. She had a strict the-more-the-merrier policy. Another mate? Bring it on. The girl was there to be naughty and have orgasms and I fully supported that.

"What is the matter, little lamb?"

I squeak, having been lost in my thoughts, and glance up to find myself the subject of both men's penetrating gaze. "I was... I am... " a naughty fairy with a mind on rutting, but I dare not say that.

And the way she managed to always get her way had me in stitches:

"Do not mind Alder." She waves a dismissive hand. "He is surly but mellows if I suck his cock."

Add in a sprinkle of praise:

"I'm going to come!"

"Good girl," Barok says approvingly. "Come as often as you need to."

...and I was sold.

**Recommended as an exercise in expanding your imagination.

Thoughts: 💡

This book is so entertaining. It has a bit of everything in it; but is still mostly smut with a heavy portion of monster love.
Briar is sweet and mischievous and her fairy nature becomes more pronounced throughout the story. It’s adorable.
Each of her mates are the epitome of the wild warrior that turns to putty for their girl. They all have distinct personalities and struggles with enough depth to make you fall for them.
The plot wasn’t complicated but the story was pieced together so masterfully that it was enthralling anyways.

I have loved reading this series since the first book. In all that time I have never run across a character in any of these books that I didn't love. Till this book. For some reason Jesse just rubs me the wrong way and I didn't care that much for him. Never really warmed up to him throughout the book.

That being said this was still a great book. I loved Briar. She had me laughing at all her antics throughout this book. I loved her pouting at Adler that she wanted to pet all the other mates, before she knew they were her mates also. It was hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣 And her threats if he wouldn't let her pet them. I loved this little fairy to the moon and back.

I think of all her mates Edwin is the one I love the best. He was always so hard on himself, scared that he was gonna mess up and hurt her. It was endearing that the tiny little fairy felled the mighty Orc general. 😍😍😍 Barok was a close second I think. He was just as nervous around Briar.

Adler made me chuckle the way he was all grumpy that things didn't go as planned when he made his plan to claim Briar. He was a grump and a half and kept trying to deny it when he realized he wasn't going to be her only mate. I wish Tate and Caleb had gotten a little more story time. I would love to know a little more about those two.

Other then not really caring for Jesse. The only thing that bothered me at first was getting used to the way the characters spoke. It kind of threw me at first. After getting used to it I kind of liked it. It was unique to these characters and I ended up loving that about them.

Shew!! L.V. Lane never disappoints! You can guarantee SPI-CY scenes that leave little to your own imagination. This book is no different!

I absolutely LOVE Briar! She's got spunk and personality for days and always has her men on her toes (lest she start petting)! A definite "why choose" when she can have her fill.

As always with L.V. Lane's Coveted Prey collection, she does a great job in my opinion of having a good plot, characters with enough personality to hook you and more than enough steamy scenes that never leave you wanting.

I love that she can accomplish that in one book but they are always to intriguing that she could have easily turned this book into a longer series. Even as a one book story it has everything!!

I seriously loved every minute of this book. If you’ve read any of the books in the coveted prey series there are so many different types of characters in that world. Well this book has them all 😱

From the moment I started reading I knew I would love Briars character 🖤 the last fairy with wings in the realm loving a sad life until the gang of misfits comes into her life.

This is a super spicy 🥵 monster why choose book with every size peen 🍆 going and I’m here for it all. Be ready to go and sort yourself out or get someone to do it with the heat coming out of this story 😉😉

I loved the male characters, from the shyish ORC, to the possessive Stag to the I don’t want her wolf 😂 how they all interact together is amazing.

Some of my favourite lines ever are in this book I couldn’t stop laughing it was incredible. Light hearted but with so much emotion behind it I wanted to pick Briar up and love her so much 🖤
“I am petting the werebeast. You cannot stop me!” Or when she likes to pet the ORCs ears 😂

Such a fun and spicy read. Will read them again and again 🖤

A Sweet, Steamy, Saucy, Sensational Read…

Oh Wow there was so much happening in this super steamy monster (something for every taste 😛🔥🥵) omega verse…
As we follow a band of Alpha brother in arms Alder a deer shifter, Caleb a human, Tate and Jesse both wolf shifters Edwin an orc and Barok a centaur.. Each one one a journey to bring peace to the lands as they help Alder reclaim his birth right but also to save and claim the last fairy with wings, Briar, who is being held prisoner by a dark Fae lord for her high blood, only to be held again by this band of brothers but as their omega…
I loved Briar as she explored the attraction with each of her mates, keeping them on their toes right to the last page definitely making this a keeper and if I could give it 10 ⭐️s I’d I would…

4,5 stars - a little dash of plot, mostly just spice. Like I've come to expect and love from this series. LV Lane continues to deliver exactly what I'm hoping for with these books.

A sweet yet feisty fairy and a fun combination of MMCs of various kinds like we've met throughout earlier books. Variety is the spice of life, as they say - and we certainly got some variety here. I would've liked to see the differences pushed even further.
I also really wish we could have gotten some more time with each MMC to get to know them better, Barok especially disappeared a bit in the background. They're all so fun and sweet. I'd gladly have read a book twice the length, just for more downtime and domestic bliss with each character, and all of them together.

Pet the orc, and the werewolf… and the stag king.. pet everyone!
Briar is the last of her kind, chained to a cruel master. But then she is liberated by the true heir, only instead of being set free she is bound by chains far greater than fear.
This is a scorcher from L.V Lane, featuring all your favourite monster tropes in one big pile. Some characters previously introduced in the Coveted Prey series get their own hea, which is wonderful.
This is a rollicking romp both inside the bedroom and out, with witty banter, moon eyes and monsters. What more could you possibly want?
Can be read as a stand-alone within the Coveted Prey series, but as Selena Gomez said : ‘why would I want to?’

DNF at 56% There were so many mates for no reason, no character development at all (f.e. we didn't even get an explanation or apology for the fact that Jessie didn't even find her attractive and changed his mind just because). If it were just smut then fine, but it isn't (because there's too much going on other than that and if it were just smut it wouldn't have taken until half of the book for her to mate more than one of them) and Lanes books generally offer more than that. Lately I seem to be more and more disappointed by her work though, expecting more and not getting it. The books aren't bad, but her earlier ones were better imo.

The last fairy with wings and her mates....a stag shifter, a barbarian alpha, a centuar, an orc, an alpha wolf shifter and a beta wolf shifter....

The back story of the dark fae and portals and the bastard heir Alder was intriguing and I quickly became invested in the old world building, the humour is quiet but quick witted and caught me unawares at times leaving me smirking 😏

In the second half of the book the claiming starts and doesn't stop....dare I say it's too much? I'm still struggling with the Orc, the fairy? Not so much....

The epilogue was sweet with the addition of a family, leaving me content.

Spicy OV

What do an alpha dire wolf shifter, a beta dire wolf shifter, a centaur, a 1/2 orc, an alpha male human, and a 1/2 stag shifter-1/2 High Fae have in common? Well, in addition to being battle buddies, they have a mate in common. She’s a fairy- the last fairy with wings. And everyone knows fairies are all omegas. And everyone knows that many omegas have to take multiple mates.

Spice level 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ of 5
Plot 🌶️🌶️🌶️ of 5 (all that spice, the plot had to be fairly basic)
Characters 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ of 5
World building wasn’t necessary if you read the previous books in the series of standalones.

I've only read one other novel by this author years ago so I forgot that they only write smut. This only had a plot line for the first few chapters. After she meets her first mate, which happens very early on, it turns into non-stop sex until the very end without a single plot line. I kept waiting for something... anything... else to happen besides her having sex with her mates. I had high hopes for this book based on the summary- my guilty pleasure is damsel in distress- but this supposed abused/ starved woman child who was abused for over a decade was fixed with one single feeding and experienced no long lasting mental/emotional/ physical trauma? I would only recommend this book if you are looking for porn without plot and really, all the porn came down to was size difference and possible beasteality since some of her mates have more beastly forms.

Stolen by Darkness is book fifteen in the series Coveted Prey by author L.V. Lane. So this one is absolutely wildly beautiful. Out of darkness and misery comes love and courage. The MFC is the last of her kind, a gift that’s sweet, sassy and brilliant. She takes her first cautious steps into the world of mates and family after all these years of brutality. She glows and shines with magic. Then there are the six - yes six MC that win her heart and soul. They are alphas to the core big brutal beasts that she tames with a smile.
The whirlwind journey that they take into discovery is spicy as all hell. And well worth the grumpiness.
Enjoy!!

I really loved this sweet, sexy and spicy read because it had so many wonderful characters. There was a fairy, human, stag and wolf shifters, orc and even a centaur. Oh my!

Every character in this story tugged at my heart strings and made me smile, laugh and flush all at the same time. Ie, Briar loved to pet Edwin’s (he is the Orc) ears. I’m still smiling because it was so cute.

If you want to see how she claims all these males hearts, and learn their stories, you must read this wonderful book. You will not be disappointed. Also, HEA guaranteed!

Another great book by L.V. Lane!
