"You mean everything to me. Then. Now. Always."
I’m going to miss this series. Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes, and Monica does it well. In this book, there’s an added element of suspense I really enjoyed and that wasn’t in the others. Don’t worry, no spoilers here!
"Cherry, I know what you look like when you’re wet. And right now, I’d bet your panties are fucking drenched."
Monica does write some of the best alphas. To be honest, and even though he had his (hot!) moments, I don’t think Adrian was as alpha as the previous heroes in this series. He did bring all the swoon, and damn, he’s so in love that it’s hard not to like the guy. Or maybe impossible, especially when he gets all protective.
"Now I was in a war with a woman I couldn’t forget. All I knew was I couldn’t lose her again. I wouldn’t survive it a second time."
At the same time, I thought Paige wasn’t that great. Yes, she’s a strong, independent woman and she makes a point of letting him know what she thinks of him. But there were plenty of times when you could see she was holding on to something that doesn’t make sense anymore. So I felt like there was too much unnecessary drama from her.
"The second his mouth touched mine, I was a goner. There’d be no coming back from him."
Paige is Adrian’s brother’s best friend, and was therefore off-limits to his playboy ways when they were at school. As in the other books, this story is told in the present and through flashbacks, and I loved that. You can see how it all starts, and how much they know they can’t, but they can’t help themselves.
"Her hazel eyes still had the power to bring me to my knees with a simple look or smile."
So, it happens. And you can clearly see how much Adrian was in love with Paige even ten years before, even though he was mostly an asshole at first. But when he fell, he fell hard, and I was there for it.
"I’ve wanted you for as long as I can remember. It’s always been you, Cherry. I met you first, but he got you instead."
I’m going to come out and say it - I hated his brother. It’s like he wanted to have Paige on the side for more than just friendship, even though he had a girlfriend. So I absolutely hated that they had to keep what they had a secret because of him.
It was even worse because Adrian was dreamy. Until he broke her heart. He did it for the best reasons, but did it nonetheless.
"I’d sit there for the rest of my life if that’s what it took for her to open up to me again."
These days, Adrian is a bigshot. Paige is an executive assistant who is asked to work with him. Suddenly, all the feelings come crashing in again, the love but the hurt as well. Paige desperately tries to keep him at arm’s length, but that’s not gonna work for him. Not when she’s the one who got away.
"I hate to break it to you, Cherry, but if I want in… I’m getting in."
There’s a lot of tension. Neither of them is backing down and they’re both blind to their feelings, maybe even more than they were ten years before. However, Paige is very set in her ways and she wants nothing to do with him. It’s going to take a lot to bring her barriers down and make her see him the way she once did, and he’s more than willing to do it.
"You’re standing right in front of me, Cherry girl, and you still feel miles away."
Adding to the tension is a third party who is trying to get to Paige. Regardless of Adrian’s protection, they keep coming for her, and it kept me turning the pages to find out more. Especially since the danger keeps pulling them closer.
"What do you want?"
"To tuck you in my bed every night."
Like I said, Adrian was a dream. He is so in love with her as he’s ever been, because he never stopped, but the shadow of the people coming for her and of his own brother still haunt him. He should have said those three little words then. He should say them now. But what if he does and she turns away?
I missed the characteristic M. Robinson steam. There was a lot of build-up, which I loved, but not a lot of actual sex. Were they hot together? Undoubtedly, but I wanted more on the page instead of off it.
Also, and while I loved the suspense element, it felt rushed to me. There was so much more that could be added to the story. I would have loved to know more about it.

Adrian carried the book for me, so even though I was happy to see them get their long-overdue HEA, I was happy mostly for him. He deserved it for everything he went through, for never giving up on the one he’d always wanted. She was always his, all he needed was the chance to show her that.

This is the last book in the second Chance series and it didn’t disappoint. I really enjoyed this book. I’m a sucker for second Chance and best friend’s older brother. I read this book in less than a day.
Do you ever get over your first love? It’s been over a decade since Adrian broke Paige’s heart. Paige didn’t just lose Adrian, but her best friend Cade as well. Now he’s back in her life wanting her to be his new executive assistant but she wants nothing to do with him. So when Adrian starts to dig into her life he finds out that someone is stalking her. All Adrian wants is to protect her and win her back but that last thing she wants. Paige finally agrees to work and let him protect her but that doesn’t mean she not going to fight him along the way. Their connection and chemistry is still alive a well even after all those years. But can you trust the one that broke your heart again or do you move on with your life without that person?
I love that the story went back and forth using both their POVs between now & then so you can see how their relationship started, ended and start again. I just love how jealous they both were of each other back then and now. Their banter and tension throughout the story was great it had me hooked from the first page.

M. Robinson covered every possible side of second chance romance in this series of standalones and I cannot choose a favorite. Second Chance Mine hit all the right places in my heart. It was angsty and soul wrecking and deliciously dirty. Adrian is the most epic and irresistible kind of JP alpha hero. And Paige was his perfect match with her fierceness and sweetness. These two have stolen my heart instantly.
Self made billionaire Adrian Drake has one mission in his life now. To protect and win back the woman he loves and had to hurt twelve years ago. Paige Summers isn't going to listen to him or let him dictate her life so easily. Because when Adrian broke her heart, she also lost another important person- her best friend and Adrian's brother Cade. But she has a stalker after her and Adrian insists staying with him while she work as his EA is best for her. Temptations are high but can she trust him again?
I will never get tired of M. Robinson's alpha heroes. Yes Adrian is so overbearing and controlling and sometimes irritatingly bossy and a total ahole many times..but there is something so sexy and attractive about a man who will do anything to protect his woman. Like anything. Even if it means breaking his own heart and letting her go. He is groveling for mercy while he believes he hurt her all those years for the right reason and he got hurt equally. His love and devotion and obsession was so epic. He is used to bulldoze his way through in business but Paige is another kind of challenge. Paige is no longer the naive shy sweet girl in college. She has become this sassy and confident and fiery woman who won't let Adrian go away with any of his bs. She fights for her independence and she fights for making him pay for every bit of pain. She just didn't let him in her body and mind easily. Years ago, they were off limits to each other and that factor has to played out too. The angst here is so beautiful. I enjoyed every second of emotional torture and anguish as these two broken souls battled it out. Their love is bright and intense even after all those years. And so is their explosive chemistry. Adrian is a master of dirty talk and filthy games in bedroom and it was pure fire. The stalker added a suspense angle that gave this story an extra edge and it was also necessary to bring down the final barrier between them.

This was probably one of my favorite couples of this second chance series! Paige is best friends with her neighbor Cade while secretly crushing on his older brother Adrian. They spend their school aged years dancing around each other until Adrian can no longer keep his distance in college. Their relationship doesn't end well and severs Paige's friendship with Cade. Years later fate helps their paths cross again when Adrian is in need of an executive assistant and he becomes her boss. There's also a hidden danger in the form of an obsessed stalker looking to cause trouble for Paige. This book still had steam but maybe slightly less than others in the series.. I honestly didn't miss it though because this book excelled with the emotional impacts. I could feel the anguish their separation caused as well ad that undying love neither could admit at various times in their history. I was sold from the first to last page on this book and I'm really looking forward to the new series this author lines up in the last few pages!

A thrilling close proximity, enemies second chance romance!! It's been 10 yrs since Aidan ripped Paige's heart out with a lie. Now that fate has brought them back together with Belle introducing Paige as his new assistant, Aidan is ready to set everything right and keep Paige in his life. He will do anything to have her close ... takeover her father's company and even remove beds from the guest room so her only option is to sleep with him.
I enjoyed the banter and tension between them ... and the suspense near the end kept me turning pages. Loved that Paige didn't make it easy for Aidan. This book flips between past and present between when she was in college falling secretly for Aidan and now. This is definitely a book I would reread any day. Wish it was longer as I wanted more Aidan and Paige.

I enjoyed the banter and tension between them ... and the suspense near the end kept me turning pages. Loved that Paige didn't make it easy for Aidan. This book flips between past and present between when she was in college falling secretly for Aidan and now. This is definitely a book I would reread any day. Wish it was longer as I wanted more Aidan and Paige.

I must have read a different book then y’all

Where to begin? Well he’s loved her since he was a teen yet the whole time he is a huge man ho. Likes to throw it in her face bc he knows she has a crush on him. She even walks in on him getting a BJ and makes out with him right after!!!! That’s some self respect there for the heroine. And such a good way to show the reader the heroes love. I get avoiding her and a romantic relationship with her out of respect for his brother but that’s doesn’t mean you need to make him disgusting and in need of dick bleaching.
Moving on…It’s not even what he said in the past that bothers me. Yes it was cruel and his reason was beyond stupid but I’m sorry, the the ten year separation for THAT? Ridiculous.
Anyway, the reason I didn’t like him is because when she came back into his life (he never once tried to contact her for those ten years) and he suddenly remembers their love he treats her like trash. He wants her back but doesn’t even try to explain what he did until like 85% into the book. After he forces her into a contract to work for him for six months I thought he would spend time making up for the past. Maybe an explanation. Maybe a grovel. But nope. He is cocky and not in a good way; he treats every conversation they have like a joke. I think the author wanted him to be an alpha but he wasn’t an alpha he was a selfish, controlling jerk. He threatens to call the escort service he always uses and hook up with an escort when she doesn’t want to go to a gala. Then at the gala she flirts with another man to show him how it feels. They are even right? Well, to me they were. But nope he grabs a blond he finds attractive that has been eye fricking him all night and dirty dances with her with his thigh between her legs and lips on her neck. Remember, at this time he’s trying to show the heroine that he loves her and wants her and she loves him. No grovel. Zero. Oh wait he did apologize towards the end and then the author used a totally overdone trope. To make the reader forgive the hero he takes a bullet for the heroine. I believe in their HEA but the hero never redeemed himself.

"Paige's steady composure was solid while she continued to act like she wasn't once mine. It didn't matter how pissed off she appeared, I know what was beneath her blue dress and f*ck-me heels."
This is a standalone second chance romance and follows Paige's life after she agrees to be her bestfriend's brother's assistant whom she also shares a past with. Adrian is well aware that he broke Paige's heart and inturn ruined her relationship with his brother too. But he inserts himself back into her life ten years later because of a threat to her safety and they're now stuck together in the same house temporarily. The story had plenty of angst and emotions. I felt bad for both Paige & Adrian because they were both hurting though it was also funny to see Paige try to distance herself from Adrian but failing miserably lol. Nevertheless, this was a feel good romance with some amount of mystery and thrill thrown in. I did not see THAT TWIST coming in the end at all. It was an enjoyable read with and the banter between Adrian & Paige was filled with tension and enough angst if you need that kind of books, as well as a HEA ending. I just wanted to see more of Adrian & Paige's life together because I felt like the epilogue was too abrupt. But keeping that aside, it was a fun read!

Nevertheless, this was a feel good romance with some amount of mystery and thrill thrown in. I did not see THAT TWIST coming in the end at all. It was an enjoyable read with and the banter between Adrian & Paige was filled with tension and enough angst if you need that kind of books, as well as a HEA ending. I just wanted to see more of Adrian & Paige's life together because I felt like the epilogue was too abrupt. But keeping that aside, it was a fun read!

The melting pot of issues they faced and had to overcome made for a great tension filled and suspenseful read that kept me turning those pages.
It was a fairly slow burn, and there wasn’t as much 🔥🔥 as I’d have loved to see from them but I really enjoyed the story!! I’d have loved it to have been a bit longer and maybe an angry woohoo thrown in!

Okay, even with the blurb it was like going in blind. I had no idea what to expect from from all sides of this story, and man what a story this was. We go back and fourth between past and present with development, but it was fairly easy to not get lost in translation and for that, I’m appreciative.
As with the Queen Of Angst, her signature was everywhere, with the addition of suspense and an outcome I did not see coming. Second Chance Mine was an original that had me in the pits of hell along with these characters. This authors words evoked every feeling out of me, because I was there and they were here. I was them, and they were me. Kinda like feeling someone’s embarrassment, I felt everything they was feeling because the depth was deeper than I imagined.
Adrian and Paige are people you never see coming. Adrian is the literal top alpha in every aspect of his life. He’s the most selfish/unselfish Hero I think this author has ever written. Majority of the time I wanted to junk punch him, but then his redeeming qualities shown through, and I just melted. Paige had the tendency to p me off. She had a backbone, but it wasn’t all that strong or so I thought until I reached the end of this book. I understood her all too well in the end.

Man oh man, the angst and tension was turned up for this one! “Second Chance Mine” is an angst filled, steamy and suspenseful second chance enemies to lovers story that I could not put down.
After breaking her heart 10 years ago, Adrian is back in Paige’s life. Someone has been stalking her for the last year and Adrian promises to do everything in his power to stop whomever is doing it. But his help is the last thing Paige wants and she fights him at every chance. But once the reason why Adrian broke her heart all those years ago comes to life, the chemistry and connection they have is still there and burning red hot.
I loved the added suspense of a stalker to this storyline. It help add on some extra angst and tension between Paige and Adrian which I loved. Their chemistry and connection was apparent from the start. I loved how the storyline was set up going back and forth between now and then so you could really see how much they were meant to be together. I can’t get over how much I love every single book in this series and I’m going to miss it so much. Second Chance Mine (Second Chance #6) is another steamy and well written hit and it’s a fantastic way to end the series.
Adrian and Paige are a very interesting and combative duo and these second chance, enemies to lovers entertained me at every turn. Between Paige’s smart mouth, feisty and quick witted personality and Adrian the dirty talking, charming and smug alpha, I was in complete heaven. They are an absolute riot especially with their sizzling chemistry and combustible sexual tension. And when they finally hit the sheets, I was reminded as to exactly why M. I do not even know where to start. I couldn’t put it to down. I’m seriously obsessed with Adrian & Paige!! I didn’t want this to end. The banter & dialogue was everything. Probably one of my favorites of this series and I love them all ha ❤️❤️ Their story had me on an emotional rollercoaster not gonna lie & there was very intense moments along the way. But I highly recommend this read. It’s the last of the series and man was it worth it. The s3xual tension was strong i will say that. Ha

I am huge huge fan of this author. I was so excited to have the opportunity to read this book. I never ever forgot my first love. This book brought back those happy in love feelings and so much more. This book has the steamy sexual chemistry and thrills! Adrian is this hot hot handsome super alpha CEO who just...well I would work for him any day! This is definitely a page turner! Adrian and Paige have undeniable chemistry in this office lovers romance! It's steamy, smart and thrilling. I was hooked from the first page. Awesome plot line. The fact that this book is the last of this amazing series is soooo bittersweet. I loved this book! There were so many twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. Talk about the angst in this one...phew! Like the other books in this series I love the back and forth on the timelines, so that the readers get a full view of who these characters are. Paige and Adrian were everything...just so perfect.
Adrian was pure alpha I loved at times when Paige really just didn't put up with it. She is one amazing heroine.
I really can't say enough about this book. It was perfection. I'm so sad to see this series being over, but I'm so thrilled for the next series that was briefly teased.

Second chance mine is the final book in the second chance series and it definitely went out with a bang. Adrian and Paige have know each other since they were kids, but they were off limits to each other. Fast forward ten years later and they come into each others lives again and years of hurt , devastation and old feelings come crashing back to the surface. M Robinson is the queen of angst and she absolutely lived up to the name with this book. Adrian and Paige’s story unfolded between the past and the present , which flowed seamlessly together. Their banter and sexual chemistry made for a page turning read. Throw in a little suspenseful twist and I didn’t want to put this one down until I found out how it ended. Adrian and Paige were a rollercoaster of emotions for me, but in the end I had happy tears in my eyes because after all the emotional turmoil these 2 souls have been through ,they ended up together where they should have been 10 years ago💞

The pacing was great, I felt like most of the book was set in the present with a couple of chapters in the past. I sometimes don’t like it when most of the book is set in the past, so I am happy this was so well balanced for me. LOVED this hero, he was just so alpha and bossy just the way I liked it. Like damn I'll be his good girl lol. Loved the angst and suspense as well. It just made me want to fly through the pages. Felt like this book had some great surprises and I only saw a couple of them coming. The story just flowed nicely because of it. The tension between the characters was chefs kiss, I love how it developed and how it was paced. Loved the ending and especially what I believe is a little hint towards a new series from this author.

I knew I was going to get all the feels.. and M. Robinson for sure delivered ALL OF THEM. M. Robinson knows how to write! She had me hooked from start to finish. Adrian and Page fell in love in college but they could not be together because she was his brother’s best friend. The moment his brother found out it ended and she had not spoken to either one of them since. Years later they see each other again at a job interview.
I was frustrated that Page acted like all the rules she put in the contract were actually going to keep Adrian from trying to get close to her. That contract was all a lie to get her to say yes to the job. It was obvious Adrian was not going to stay away from her. I didn’t even need to have the flashbacks because I felt it from the first moment they saw each other. I have to say Ms. Robinson knows how to keep the reader wanting for more. The sexual tension throughout that whole story was intense! I have not read any of the other books in this series but you better believe I will now!
