Witchless in Seattle #14

A Total Witch Show

Rate this book
Hello, it’s me, intrepid amateur sleuth, Stevie Cartwright back in the saddle again!

An intrepid amateur sleuth who’s being hunted.

Yep. This time I’m the case that needs solving. My most recent past has come back to haunt me. What I mean by that is, almost every single criminal dead or alive that we’ve captured or we've had a hand in doling out their fate, have been stalking me via the ghost of my very first case.

Sal Finch.

Remember him? Win’s vengeful cousin, angry and bitter when he lost all of Win’s inheritance to me and tried to kill me, has somehow figured out how to read people on this plane and get them to do his bidding.

So far, I’ve been the recipient of a black eye, I’ve been shot at, and someone tried to blow me up! So how do I, mostly a mere mortal, fight off someone from the afterlife still holding a big, fat grudge?

I call my sister Halliday Valentine to help me fight off the forces of evil, of course! A full-time witch who has visions, and part time sleuth just like me. But the afterlife sure has drastically changed since I lost my powers, and everyone around me becomes suspect as Sal whispers suggestively in the ears of criminals who would like nothing better than to see me kaput.

So when things get so bad, my sister Hal has a vision of me, a mere dead husk of a body, my soul evaporated for eternity, we know we have to take action and call Sal out with the mother of all spells. But with the afterlife in such an uproar, and the delicate timing of the spell, will we get this monkey off my back, or leave the world turned upside down?

What a crazy ride this series has been. We have witnessed Stevie from the moment her powers were stripped from her, and she was shunned by the coven to her making roots in Seattle. She has built a home for herself, found love and friendship. What she needs and what we need are answers. If she can stay alive long enough, we might just get them.

All hands on deck for this one, including Halliday Valentine Stevie’s sister. What she tells Stevie has everyone worried, including Win. Our villain Sal Finch might me dead, but he isn’t done seeking revenge.

Fourteen stories in and Cassidy kept the story fresh and exciting. The buildup regarding Stevie’s powers, which occasionally sputter into life, was intense in this episode. I loved the secondary characters and seeing everyone rally. Win was downright heroic in a scene or two. Stevie is her usual sacrificing self, but the girl is loyal.

Fans of amateur sleuths, humor, and paranormal elements will want to check out this series. I recommend starting from the beginning. While most contain a single mystery, the overall story arc and character relationships are best enjoyed from the start.

Hollie Jackson narrates and delights from her squeaky voice of Stevie’s familiar to the Russian spy. Jackson enhances the overall tale and brought these characters to life. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Complete action-packed page-turner that delivers an awesome story thirteen books in the making. I loved that Stevie’s sister Halliday and her familiar Atticus were along for the ride.

A Total Witch Show brings tons of past cases to the forefront while trying to solve the current mystery. Though things look bleak, Stevie is surrounded by love and hopeful, helpful friends.

This story is a not to be missed book in the Witchless in Seattle Mysteries series, but they do need to be read in order. You’ll want to meet all the characters that pop up in this book ahead of time!

Highly recommend!

I received and ARC for an honest review.

If you haven’t read the earlier books you may not fully appreciate the drama and angst of unanswered questions that finally come to light in this installment. Stevie has had her powers stripped, been shunned by her coven in Texas and left to succeed or fail on her own. She has built a life and found love in Seattle. This book brings it all back and if Stevie can stay alive she may finally get the answers she so richly deserves. I will add that I’ve been waiting on those answers as well. A total win.

As always this series doesn't disappoint. If you haven't read the previous books in this series your seriously missing out on the drama, action, angst, and all around laugh out loud moments that will literally keep you hooked from beginning to end. Overall a fantastic read. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.

When things go bad, they REALLY go bad.

Something isn't right in Eb Falls.

It starts with Stevie being given a black eye and a message that Sal's coming for her!!I

Hal shows up, she's had a vision of Stevie, dead.

They try to shrug it off until a bomb explodes, narrowly missing Stevie and Hal.

Everyone they track down has no memory of anything they've done.

Had Sal got THAT powerful, of is there a puppet master hidden behind it all??

Brilliant writing as always.

As usual a great book about Stevie and Win . The love of these two is priceless. Stevie had her powers taken from her years ago and suddenly she was being terrorized by someone from her past . This book had people and even ghosts trying to help her against this evil . Every one of the Witchless in Seattle Mysteries is worth reading and enjoyed .

In this book in the Witchless in Seattle series by Dakota Cassidy Stevie is being attacked by people she knows and they can’t remember it. Why would they be doing this? With a call to Halliday Valentine (Stevie’s half sister) she and Atti come to help figure out what is going on. While the bruises keep adding up what can they do to fight this evil?

I've read 14 books so far

I have binge read this series. Typically, by now I'd be looking forward to the last book. Not so with this series! The author has created characters that are charming, funny, and smart. There isn't a lot of useless dialog. I just really enjoyed reading these books. I look forward to the next one! #Stewinforever

All things come to those who wait

The tale comes full circle & our team finds out its just them to get things done. It's stressful & dangerous but they come together as only close family can. At the end all is revealed and any hurt feeling & surprise are worked through.

I love this series, and love all the possibilities this book ended with. I love that Hal came to Eb. Falls, but there was entirely too much 'hand wringing' in this book. Hope the next one goes back to more mystery-like.

Great series addition

It was a wonderful tale that kept me reading long past midnight. A nice wrap up for a villain that's been left alone too long.

3 stars. This one was a bit of a mess. Still enjoyable but too convoluted and the resolution too rushed.
