Some books leave us happy, others crying and some cringing away. But there are a very few books that leave us shaken. Shaken to the core.
I am completely shook, after reading the book #MeToo by Karan Puri
We are all well aware of the #MeToo movement that began with many rape and sexual assault victims coming out and telling their stories. It gained a sudden momentum and horrible, heart-breaking stories emerged.
The book narrates the stories of 6 sexual assault victims. Each tale is so raw, so paining. I cannot imagine someone going through it. I cannot imagine someone capable of doing such evil. I applaud all the victims who were brave enough to come out and tell their story. I am not sure if I could.
It is saddening that both females and males, of any age group are not safe in our society. It is saddening to see the judiciary fail. It is saddening to witness our values and ethics being trampled down by the very humans who made them. The education, the upbringing and awareness needs a moral boost. Values shouldn’t be lost just to books; they have to be a part of our lifestyle.
I can’t say much about the book. It’s, as I said, very raw. The author has done an incredible job writing it down. The message was very well, or I would rather say, very strongly delivered. The language, the writing style, the stories, all of them brings tears to your eyes.
Who hasn't heard of the Me too movement. It was quite revolutionary, women finding courage to give voice to what happened with them in order to empower others to do the same was a very brave move.
Sexual harassment leaves a deep impact on the victims and it is something which not only women but any human shouldn't go through. We as a society fail when this happens.
This book contains similar stories and the victims or survivors in these stories come from various backgrounds. The stories are heart breaking. This book is short in length but by no means, a light read. It should reach more people in order to create awareness. It shows us how we as a society can improve and how harsh the reality is.
An impactful read on an important topic, recommended to everyone !
Thank god that I am reading this book.. this book has disclosed 6 horrible incidents of powerful women who have been abused by the so called "decent gentle men of the society" .this book describes how the innocence of a young girl is stolen and how they are treated as hoe. Despite the independence of India, indian womens are still dominated by the men of society. Even a 10 yr old baby girl isn't spared. I am not a good reviewer but I can say the author has narrated it in a simple way. I will suggest the readers to have a quick look at it. I bet you won't stop reading it. Actually I can relate it too. Since being a woman, I have experienced such things in real life. Thank you for revealing such a aweful truths to the society.

The Book - "#Me Too" is a collection of six (6) short stories. Among all the six short stories, "Daddy's Little Girl", "Mr. World" and "The Godman" are my most favorites. "Daddy's Little Girl", is a story about a girl, who was sexually abuse by her step-father, and that incident made her overprotective mother, who fear that her daughter will go through the same. The next story - "Mr.World", is about Vishw, the youngest among his siblings, who has to go through a lot since his childhood. His elder brother Mihir, was the one who sexually abused him, and made him suffer throughout his life. The story - "The Godman", is about a women Mahima, a modern women, working in a well-known company, who was sexually abused by a Guruji but that's not all, before her decision to stay in ashram, she has to go through a lot, mentally. Her in-laws made her believe that she was infertile but that was not true at all.
All these stories highlights, one crucial topic - Sexual abuse, which has been going on in our society from a long period of time. In workplace, home, schools, colleges, everywhere, irrespective of age or gender, people suffers, some people come forward and speaks about it while others suffers silently.
Overall, I love reading this book. The characters are well-developed and each story is beautifully narrated. While reading this book, I was able to connect with the characters and the pain they had to go through. The title of the book speaks for itself, "#MeToo" is not a simple hastage. In this movement, women came out with their stories of sexual abuse, harassment, rape and, misconduct. A Book which will help us to understand the pain of the sexually abused person, the way they suffer, emotionally, mentally and physically.I highly recommend this book to everyone.
Me Too by Karan Puri consists of six short stories based on various kind of settings and people but involving the same themes, such as eve teasing, catcalling, rape, sexual abuse to adults and children.
The book is titled on the hashtag that started trending on twitter since few years where women from all over the world started sharing incidents in corporate world, bollywood and even their own homes, how they were assaulted, forced by men for sexual favours, or how in general women are objectified in the society.
I read all the stories, it kept getting more disturbing, there's a story called The Godman, which I think is gonna stay in my head for sometime, it was a harrowing true story based on a Guru who was famous for helping infertile women have babies, and women with other issues and had sevikayens in his ashram.
I liked the introduction and prologue which said that it's not "Me Too" but "We Too" as men also go through sexual abuse often when they were children, and they aren't believed especially in India. The story Mr. World discusses this in the book.
The story Bollywood Me Too, talks about the behind the scenes reality that happens in Bollywood and how newcomers are taken advantage of, in the name of casting, and big personalities that they trusted and looked up to, turn out to be monsters in reality.
People who like non fiction, stories based on real events such as this one should read the book. Books like these are important for social awareness.
The writing was quite engaging, easy to read, quite a bit of Hinglish words are mentioned, and stories were short, it took me two hours to finish the book.
Thank you to the author for the book.

This book story #Me Too is all about the dark secrets & realities of this human world, where the word humanity don't even exist.
Why feelings of women are suppressed, they're violated & used every single time by men. Even men are violated by men too. So many characters, playing their own role, revolving around darkest phases of life.
This book cover itself is revealing a lot. All Black & Red. I was not expecting this story & message from book cover itself but it's true!
To be very honest, I feel my mind can't absorb it & actually I was not able to digest that how people are betrayed, cheated & brutally used by those who mean to world for them at a particular moment ( in past or present ). So, the messages are based on reality!
What I like :- I like the message about reality of this dark world. What I dislike : I feel, this book was not for me (especially, not for a sensitive brain); as I was not able to digest it's language. It's overdosed by sensual & adult content.
Recommended : If you're comfortable to read a story completely based on all black & red. I mean all about the cruelty & lust of men, then you can read it. ( For 18+ )
Karan Puri's book #MeToo is a deep account of the resilience power of those who have gone through traumatic sexual abuse.
______________________ Disclaimer and Trigger Alert: This article is about my own reading experience being an independent reader. This book is an account by the author which speak about how heart wrenching the real ordeals were but as few scenes are raw and brutal so few may act as triggers for some. _______________________ This is a collection of 6 short stories. Sexual harassment has been going on for hundreds of years. Women are seen as the vulnerable gender and when they go through such ordeals they society silences them. But with #metoo movements thousands spoke up. These stories that touch different points in this spectrum effectively burst another bubble of myth. They paint the fact that the word 'Me' in #metoo is not limited to one gender but it is for an individual who may be from any gender possible, age or economic background.
A story that puts question mark on who can be truly trusted if the devil lurks inside the closest of all a kid learns to trust. Another one tells about the healing process of a high performance man hidding a similar past. Few more paints the existence of this heinous crimes in work places and places where in the name of religious-spiritual healing self-claimed godmen take advantage of others.
Their painful journey alongside their healing process has been been highlighted which act as a reminder of our rights to speak up against wrong and not be remain silent and give a way to it in anyway.
When year ago hashtag metoo came into the highlights putting front stories of assaults faced by celebrities, it evoked surprise and anger in the community.
The agenda of the campaign was to make people aware and motivate them to speak against the violence if it's happening to you or in front of you. But are the celebrities only one who's issues can be taken into consideration?
The book Mee Too by Karan presents few stories of different age of women who have been part of this type of inhuman behavior and situation. There's still people who need enough courage to speak about ill things happening to them.
This book point out lack of mentality still being seen In educated people. This definitely can be an inspiration. The stories are enough to take your attention to this certain topic. It'll eventually get you thinking.
Remarkable work. Totally appreciated..

A book like this is very rare to be found and needs a bunch of guts to write something like this. To be honest not only females but other genders also face sexual violence and that is dreadful to see something like this happening everyday and every minute irrespective of the gender. Karan shared few stories of sexual violence happening to any age group say it 10 years old or 72 years old and mostly those victims knows their criminal and rapists. Karan says that we hear a new #metoo story every day these days by some popular celebrities but in reality nobody cares about that and specially something like that happening to a normal unpopular human being. He portrays the trauma and depression any person goes through when she/ he is violated and gets too timid , feels too helpless and wants a lot of support from the known ones. This book taught us to speak up for ourselves and stand up with courage and believe in ourselves. The author written these stories too well depicting the true side of this world, that these are quite gripping to read as the effort by him is clearly to be seen through this book. Sexual abuse isn’t just a word but a terrible and unforgiveable crime by those who does not believe in humanity and it is reality in today’s world indeed, a person is not an object to be used so evry body should raise their voice and speak up against it and punish the guilty.
"Me too" is a movement that almost every one of us is aware of. So when I came across this book I was super intrigued to read it. The author has talked about this movement with such honesty and grace.
This book is a collection of 6 stories that talks about sexual abuse with different people and in different circumstances only the same factor being harassment. All the stories are heart-wrenching to read and know that this happens every day around us is just scary. There is a line in the book that goes like" all of us are told how to protect ourselves but assault comes to us in such an abrupt and unknown manner we can never see it coming" and I don't think anything ever has made so much sense before.
This book is a very brave attempt to keep this fire ignited in the heart of the world to seek justice and to raise a voice. The author has done justice to all the incidents described in the book with an amazingly raw and intriguing narration. There are few illustrations and drawings that accompany the write-ups.
Congratulations to the author for bringing this amazing and very important book to existence.
It’s time we hear the “We Too” stories. For the ‘ME’ in the ‘Me Too’ is a person, an individual, a self-respect, a sanctity, a sentiment, an emotion, a breach of trust, a scar, an uncomfortable moment, an unfair gesture... irrespective of whether it’s a She or He.
Me Tooo: A collection of short stories of the pain and despair which have been experienced as an nightmare leaving a mental scar forever on the victim. The victim of sexual abuse, sexual assault and sexual molestation face the terror which is unforgettable for a lifetime.
Each short story in this book brings out the bitter experience of he or she of any age. It is the truth of our society which can be solved by speaking it out and giving the positive vibes for the victim to speak out her pain.
The author has done a great job which requires a lots of guts to speak up . The language is simple and realistic as narrated by the protagonist of the stories.
It's the time we wake up and hear the pain and bring a society of compassion and understanding. An exceptional reading experience.

is written by Karan puri. This book is a compilation of 6 stories that talks about sexual vitriol with numerous people and in diverse occurrences merely the related aspect is being harassment. Each story of the book highlights crucial and vital issues. The stories of the book are based on subtle sentiments, harassment, sexually insulted victims, etc. The author has finely discussed all the issue with the sense of deep.
Once I have listened to this movement and now I can easily relate the book with that. metoo is not just a hashtag but an endurance for a soul to speak up against any offensive happening with them. Doing an illicit act is undoubtedly wrong but concealing it is to stimulate.
Stories are plausible, well penned. As you are reciting on such a big issue you have to prepare all the genuine things about that to connect with people and the author has done it well.
#Me too. This isn't just a hashtag. Rather it symbolises a movement that has gained prominence recently. Sexual abuse is something that has been going on for a long time but talking about it is still seen as a taboo and almost always it is the victim whom the society blames. But recently, the victims have become vociferous and are coming forward to speak about sexual abuse and it has finally taken form of a movement. The stories in this book highlight incidents about people from different walks of life who have been victims of sexual abuse. It is mostly women, of all ages, who fall prey to the sexual predators but men also can be victims of such incidents and the book has story about male sexual abuse as well. The writing style is very good - raw, engaging and convincing. The stories are so bold and touching and they'll leave deep impressions upon your mind. The emotional conditions and the trauma faced by the victims have been portrayed so vividly that it gave me goosebumps while reading. The language is simple and lucid and there are some graphics which made the stories even more alive. Kudos to the author for bringing forth stories about such a prominent and sensitive issue. I'm sure it'll create awareness among more and more people and together we'll be able to make attempts to curb this evil!
This book is a collection of 6 short stories where the lead roles share their sexual abuse. A kid is abused by her stepdad, an 18-year-old girl who was raped by her best friends' father. A woman's wish to bear a child makes her live-in ashram where she is abused and used and never went back to her home. The elder brother abused his younger brother which is still a scar.
I think there are a lot of people who keep it to themselves about their abuse as they are threatened or the victim's side is never understood and blamed. There are men and women who face physical and mental abuse. Many say that it happens only for women. I don't know why society is like this. Men should not cry, men won't face any sexual abuse.
# Me too was trending, people shared their stories so that they may get justice to more people will say their problems so that this will not happen again for any other person, if happened they should raise the voice against the wrong things and share with the close ones for help.
This book narrates the story where different people of different age and circumstance are abused by people who they have trusted a lot. This is a lesson for us.
"#Me too" written by Karan Puri is collection of 6 stories of men and women who went through sexual abuse by people in positions of power. This book highlight incidents about people who have been victims of sexual abuse. #Metoo is a slogan to make people aware and motivate them to speak against the sexual assault or harrasment if it's happening to them or in front of them.
By reading this book i got to know that each day, each passing moment there are people who are being assaulted, mostly the women's, which is really heart-breaking. Each story of this book is deep and heart touching and surely will give goosebumps to the reader.
The author has done a remarkable job by speaking up on this topic. This book is surely an inspiration. Book contains some articles and the illustrations add to the reading experience. Well written. Recommend for all.
This book is an aggregation of 6 stories that discussions about sexual bitterness with various individuals and in assorted events simply the connected viewpoint is being badgering. Every account of the book features essential and crucial issues. The narratives of the book depend on unpretentious notions, badgering, explicitly offended casualties, and so forth The creator has finely talked about all the issue with the feeling of profound.

It takes guts to write a book with super striking title and ensuring that it serves justice to the story or vice versa. And in case of #Me too, undoubtedly, it has been done perfectly. This contains short stories about abuse, harrasment and molestations faced by all of us (she, mostly) in life, throughout. Creating and sharing generic abuse situations, making us feel empathetic and heart wrenching without discerning as repeatitive was very appreciative, which is one of the reasons why I would honour this book as gripping and worth- a- buy one.Every story will resurrect as real while reading.Commonly unique, is what the stories are when read. The narrative style and language is flawless. I cannot recommend this book enough , hence giving it a 5 star. With the deciphering of #Me Too ,to #We Too, and depiction of pain of the people with simple art , I have already become a fan of the author's mind /work.
#metoo is not just a hashtag but a strength for an individual to speak up against any wrong happening with them. Doing a wrongful act is indeed wrong but hiding it is to give encouragement.
The book is about Six short stories wherein an individual in different phase of life is sexually abused. The stories were short and straight to the point. You will feel your body heating up with anger. It makes you think that is this the world you want to survive in???
A quick must read to understand how important it is to speak up, not just for yourself but for another person as well, who can be a victim just because you kept mum.
#MeToo movement is a social movement against sexual abuse and harassment . This is a collection of six short stories based on this #metoo movement. These six stories focused on different women who faced the same problem. Women empowerment is the need of the time as the female is considered as second gender. The narration is kept simple and easy for better understanding of common man.The language used is lucid. I love the fact that the author has written down a well paced plot based on the real world topic. The hashtag was initiated in 2006 by a survivor and activist named Tarana Burke.
Me too movement is an effort to give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem. This book is collection of 6 stories how does the human soul get haunted by the atrocities like pedophilia and dehumanizing act against someone. It is a good read to understand the depth of me too movement.
As we all familiar about Me Too movement, I don't need to clarify what this book about. # Me oo by Karan Puri is a painstakingly briliant book that inspired from real life. This book is a short story collection, it would be better to say real life incidents collection instead of saying it's a story collection. YUP IT'S TRUE, ALL THESE HAPPENED. It's written from the victims POV, which is perfect for this kind of book. Storytelling is lucid and penetrating, will evokes you in the characters.
This book highlighted some experiences that never have been told. Not all the stories can be told, not all assaults are meant to accept as assault in our society. Yes our society has a serious issue of accepting these kind of humiliation when it happens in our own home, when it came from our own family. All the # Me Too incidents are not happening only with our celebs or high society girls, some are happening with normal average babies and they couldn't tell it to anyone because sexual assault is a very humiliating and dehumani-zing act against someone. The victim really feels invaded and defiled, and it’s a pity that it’s only the victim who feels ashamed and abashed. The victim also feels unworthy of any love and finds it difficult to trust anyone.
This phrase of the book is enough to understand tha survivor's struggle throughout the rest of her life - "When Sam had proposed to me after 7 years of us having known each other, I’d still not trusted him. I was wary of passionate physical intimacy initially. I would push him away whenever things got too intense. This baggage, though, had been a part of Abha all along, was like a broken limb that is not attended."
Heart wrenching, it started to harboured me with deep intimate pain and had me thinking how much we know our own family members or friends. Do we know them, do we really know?
I liked the great narration style, when it comes to this kind of mind boggling book, it's perfect to tell it in multiple POV , this will helpe you to understand the real storms that blowing the victims' life.
What i liked was the way victims' mind work, what it preserves is a lifelong wound and it never stops bleeding. We don't realise how people are living different lives in the same house. Under the same roof some are living in hell and some are in paradise ! And we don't realise....Let the society know what it feels like living an abusive life !!
Book cover is perfect and graphics inside the book makes it a modern age book, i liked this style, these images gives the book another level of serious touch.
But what i didn't liked about the book is its only a collection, why author didn't put some own words ? In the end it's sounds like just a journalist copy, atleast he can raise some question, he can root some thought, there's no conclusion, he can asked why girl's are not safe but he didn't. People are not so prone to thinking, an author is who can create thought, who have the power and ability to sow the thought into reader's mind, but for an unknown reason he didn't use the power. Atleast i was expecting that. But it's a good book and kudos to him. I wish he will do it again and i am waiting for his next book and hoping it would be great. I would rate this book 3 out of 5 Star
I'll start the review by saying something I feel is terrible but essential. Sexual abuse is something that someone might take weeks, months or years to get over and yet it haunts us. I feel so terribly sorry saying this but it's a bitter truth that every girl I know has experienced some form of assault, harassment or molestation and I am no exception. The worst part is there are times when someone doesn't even know what's happening to them because they are that young (maybe even kids) or naive or have not yet even been taught that something like that can happen to them. Imagine that!
#japreviewslit
"All I wanted to be was 'Daddy's little girl. Sadly, I never knew he would make a woman of me."
There are many heart rending statements in this book but this one tugged at my heart because what do you do when you are all of ten years old and trust a person and he is the one who molests you? The first story in this book titled 'Daddy's Little Girl' is of someone who lost her father when she was 3 years old and all her life has wanted a father figure to guide her and love her and when she finally has someone, a step father and this is what he does to her.
The other stories are about a girl whose friend's father rapes her and said "Don't wear dresses like those to grab attention of men." A man whose brother assaulted him as a kid but neither the victim's mother nor the rapist's wife believe the victim. There's a story about a Godman taking a woman as a disciple and what follows is horrifying to say the least. Another one is a corporate #metoo story wherein we have a girl who abuses and drinks & smokes and that is because she wants to 'pretend' she is 'cool'. Now this is where I find a problem. I felt stereotypes about women are brought into play and it somehow felt like the author is judging the girl for her choices. The girl was slightly annoying, I agree but just because she is unconventional it makes her an easy target? That to me seemed problematic. And a Bollywood #metoo story.
The stories are written with utmost honesty and are grim but it's an important read. I recommend it.
The Me Too (or #MeToo) movement, with variations of related local or international names, is a social movement against sexual abuse and sexual harassment where people publicize allegations of sex crimes. The phrase "Me Too" was initially used in this context on social media in 2006, on Myspace, by sexual harassment survivor and activist Tarana Burke. After millions of people started using the phrase and hashtag in this manner in English, the expression began to spread to dozens of other languages. The scope has become somewhat broader with this expansion. . This amazing book consists of five short stories dealing with the me too incident s. As we all know, women in our country are not quite absolutely safe these days especially. Rape or physical harrasment is the fourth most common crime against women in India. According to the 2019 annual report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), 32033 rape cases were registered across the country, or an average of 88 cases daily, slightly lower than 2018 when 91 cases were registered daily.Of these, 30,165 rapes were committed by perpetrators known to the victim (94.2 % of cases), a high number similar to 2018. These numbers are really scary. This book recapitulate about child abuse and safety of women as well. These days various disputed judgements are also coming from various courts which are quite difficult to digest. And ultimately the society and it's preconceived notions are fueling it up more. The author has done a really commendable job. . I really love the author's approach as well as his writing style. Reality really hits hard while reading the book. I'm truly recommending it to everyone. Kudos to the author for selecting a sensitive and essential topic.
I will keep this review short. There are overflowing emotions but words fail. This was a shocking read for me. Ever since the hashtag me too started and did a huge round in the social media we have heard and read a lot. There were many who opened their hearts about their deepest and darkest secrets, horrific incidents of sexual assault at their work and some happening in the family itself. This book is about six such incidents. Its not that only women are victims of these assaults but men too. Where is this world heading? There are wolves lurking in the dark ready to prey up innocent lives just for their short-lived pleasure. What shattered me the most was the fact that these evil ones are those trusted people or a close-knit family member who commit such crimes. Why? Why? What should we call these people? Should they be even considered as humans? Heartless souls? I think they should be called DEMENTORS. The presence of dementors suck out the happiness and these people suck out the life of the victims and leave them as empty shells with no life within. Fearing rejection from the family or the society, the victims don’t speak out. For some, these are childhood horrors. Does a child need to carry such a horror? This changes the nature of the child and impacts their future in a way that is beyond repair. To those who are reading this, you maybe a parent/brother/sister/friend/colleague. Keep a close watch on those around you and the ones you love. we never know where these demons are hiding. These are wolves in sheep skin. Always be attentive to your child’s behaviour. Keep a watch over them always. Just’s it. I am done. A great appreciation to the author for bringing out the hashtag into a book. It was eye opening yet gut wrenching read.
🍁The title and cover page describes it all.. This is a set of real Life incidents stating the abuses faced by the People and how it affected their life. 🍁we knew the fact that harassments are not gender based, but men are judged if they open up their issues. (He was told that he was a man and this couldn't happen to him. It only happens to Women and only they can feel.. these words from a mother to Son clearly states the real Problem Men are facing today).
🍁Few cases in this Book, clearly mentioned the responsibility of a parent. A Good/Ideal Parent can recognise even a small change in behaviour of the kid and could rectify before they go out of their hands.✔️
🍁Most of the child abuses happens with the ignorance of the kid. When they come to know the intention of opposite person, their confidence is slashed.❌❌
🍁Godman - One of the sensible case brought both tears and shock at the same time. It clearly portrayed how an educated and independent women can get exploited since she couldn't fit into Social Norms❌❌ 🥺The worst part is that , she had no idea on any abuse happening to her and she mentally accepted the wrong person in her life.
🍁This book is a must read as it holds information for all generation.
🍁Lets be more informed to avoid these situations and struggles.✔️
🍁Only disappointment was, the author failed to add her views / notes at the end. it was like reading case studies and the conclusion is left with the readers🍂
□ QOTN :- Have you read the series of Harry Potter?
■ Book Name :- #MeToo □ Author :- Karan Puri ■ Publication :- Invincible Publishers □ Language :- English ■ Genre /Theme :- Fictional Short Stories.
○●Firstly I would congratulate Karan Puri for his your journey as a Author. ○●
🔻#MeToo :- Not just a hashtag, but a movement which started on social media to highlight the sexual assualt / Abuse or anything which comes under sexual crime.
🔻Talking about the cover, it is plain, subtle, informative and classic. You can know by the wordings or quotes mentioned on the front cover. It could have been enhanced, if cover was made bold.
🔻 I bought this E-book from @kindleindia , I am a huge fan of reading crime, suspense, thriller and this book was a must pick out of all. Author has revealed the dark side of this world, where man can lust over women of any age.
🔻 The book is collection of few stories, talking about inhumanity against women. #Metoo movement started to encourage people out there to open up the wrongs they went through. Author speaks about lack of knowledge regarding the same in this book which encourages this crime.
🔻Overall a average read book, could see more coming from this book, not bad.
Sexual harrasment is one of the worst act and it shows how much inhumanity our society has . It degrades a person and leave a bad impact on the victim's mental and physical health . It is the most evil thing to do and one should educate himself and learn to respect each and every person .
The #Metoo was seen on internet and it gained worldwide popularity . Victims came up with their story and how it has affected them deeply and they have still not totally overcomed from it . There are many such stories which are not even said even today and the evil persons do not bother and care about the victims .
This book has six such stories that will definitely break your heart and you will feel helpless and your trust in humanity with shake . In today's world if you are someone who has never gone through sexual harrasment , bullying or assault then you are very much blessed . 80% women face such situation everyday be it at work at home or any other place .
We need to teach the next generation the right thing and author has done an incredible job with her work he has tried to make the readers realise how important it is to protect others and educate others .
Language used is simple and easy to understand and narration done is very well. Must read 👍😍
I think almost all of us must have heard about Me Too movement and probably... sadly have faced them once in our lifetime as well. Whether they are HeToo, SheToo, or WeToo.
This is what exactly Karan Puri have portrayed with real life experiences through this book.
The stories are brutal, intimate but honest. Very honest. And I think that's the saddest part. That how real they are. It's not something fictional that you can cry about or feel guilty for just for a little while then move on with your lives. This is something most of us have faced on daily basis. They are cruel part of our lives.
Some, we face because of some mere ugly strangers, in the outer world. But some, it happens within our family, or right inside our home, by the people we used to trust so much. The place and people who were supposed to be our safe zone.
What I loved most about this book is that it not only tells the story of wound and pain. But it also tells us the journey of healing. That bad past experience is not something that defines us. But how we get out of it, that does. Yes, we can never forget it. But we can move past it, bury it at the back of our head and live our lives the way we deserve... happily.
This book tells us about the resilience of the human beings who've lived through the trauma of sexual violence and inspires all of us to become more evolved and compassionate in our intimate connections. Sexual abuse will not be accepted for both genders whether it's female or male , both are human being so the action would be equally taken towards them .
It book tells us stories about six different women, who were sexually harassed. Many women belonging to different age groups face some form of sexual abuse or assault, some decide to make their stories heard and many become ashamed of something that was not their fault. It highlighted some experiences that never have been told. Not all the stories can be told, not all assaults are meant to accept as assault in our society. Yes our society has a serious issue of accepting these kind of humiliation when it happens in our own home, when it came from our own family. This is what exactly Karan Puri have portrayed with real life experiences through this book.

Do you think much has changed after the 'Me Too' movement??
We all know about the #MeToo movement started by Activist Tarana Burke that encouraged women to speak up and share about sexual harrassment they faced.
In this book, Karan Puri shares some 'Me Too' stories but not limited to only female. The author sheds light on the scars of women as well as men.
There are 6 'Me Too' stories in this book. The stories come from contributors as young as 16year old to as old as 72. Both men and women and from common people to celebrity.
The stories here are shocking and the author very well describes how sexual harrassment starts to takes place. The author also sheds light on the trauma that one faces due to sexual harrassment.
👉The book is fast paced and engaging but at some places the descriptions should have been cut short. There are also few graphics in the book. Its a short and quick read of around 150 pages. I completed the book in a day. While reading this it felt like just another collection of adult stories. I wish there was something more added, to give it a #MeToo touch. Altogether i appreciate the efforts of the author to write a book on such topic which is much needed to create awarness, to encourage more victims to speak up.
