ವೃತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿರುವ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ಕೂಡುರಸ್ತೆ ಅವರು ಮೂಲತಃ ಹಾಸನ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸಕಲೇಶಪುರ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಕೂಡುರಸ್ತೆ ಗ್ರಾಮದವರು. ತಂದೆ-ಹೆಚ್.ಎಸ್. ತಮ್ಮೇಗೌಡ, ತಾಯಿ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ಆಚಾರ್ಯ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏರೋನಾಟಿಕಲ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಅವರು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ‘ಹೃದಯದ ಮಾತು’ ಇವರ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರಕಟಿತ ಕವನ ಸಂಕಲನ.

‘ಇಂತಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ’ ಎಂಬ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯು ಇವರ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಟಿತ ಕೃತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಎರಡನೇ ಮುದ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯು ‘ಬಹ್ರೇನ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಡಿಂಡಿಮ’ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಗ್ರಿಫಿನ್ಸ್ ಗುರುಕುಲ ಎಂಬ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಬಿಸಿನೆಸ್ ಕುರಿತಾದ ‘ಬಿಸಿನೆಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ನಾನು’ ಹಾಗೂ ‘ಬಿಸಿನೆಸ್ ಚಾಣಕ್ಯ’ ಎಂಬ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರು ‘ದಾನವ’ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು, ‘ಆಟೋಶಂಕ್ರಿ’ ಎಂಬ ಕಿರುಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ತಾನು ಬರೆದ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿನಿಮಾರೂಪಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕನಾಗೇಕೆಂಬುದು ಇವರ ಗುರಿ. ಇವರ ಪತ್ತೇದಾರಿಯ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳಾದ ‘ಕಾಲಯ ತಸ್ಮೈ ನಮಃ’, ಮತ್ತು ‘ಸ್ವಪ್ನದ ಬೆನ್ನೇರಿ’ಯನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹ ಬುಕ್ ಹೌಸ್ ನವರು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಪತ್ತೇದಾರಿಯ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ‘ತ್ಯಾಗರಾಜ್ ಕಾಲೋನಿ’ ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಕೊನೆಯ ಪುಟದವರೆಗೂ ಓದುಗನ ಕುತೂಹಲವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿಡುವ ಪತ್ತೆದಾರಿ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಇದಾಗಿದೆ.

ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ಕೂಡುರಸ್ತೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಭಿನಂದನೆಗಳು ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂತಹ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುವರು ತೀರಾ ವಿರಳವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯೂ ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಜೀವನದ ಕಟು ಸತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೆಲವೇ ಕೆಲವು ಓದುಗರು ಮಾತ್ರ ಅರ್ಥೈಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Ardha Satya Ardha Sullu by Kowshik is yet another read from this author for me, his 4th or 5th thriller, I believe. The story begins with the murder of a couple, initially staged as a suicide, and follows the investigation that unfolds from there.

It’s a fairly simple and fast-paced book that can easily be finished in a few hours, which is exactly what I did. You can sense that Kowshik is getting into his groove here. The plot is gripping, though the execution isn’t particularly strong; still, it wouldn’t be fair to call it weak.

For readers who haven’t explored his earlier works, this would make for a good thriller. But if you’re already familiar with his writing, this one feels just okay. For me, it served perfectly as a light read after finishing a massive book. Worth reading once.

ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಮಳಿಗೆಗೆ ತೆರಳಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಬಾರಿಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಇಣುಕುವುದು ಕುತೂಹಲ ಕೆರಳಿಸುವ ಪತ್ತೇದಾರಿ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯ ಕಡೆಯೇ. ಹಾಗೊಂದು ದಿನ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ನವಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಮಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದು ಸಹ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಮತ್ತು ಬರಹಗಾರರಾದ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ಕೂಡುರಸ್ತೆಯವರ ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ.
ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಲೇಖಕರು ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣ್ಯವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಂತೆ ಮುಖವಾಡ ಧರಿಸುವ ದುಷ್ಟರ, ಸ್ವಾರ್ಥಕ್ಕೆ ನೊಂದು ಬಲಿಯಾದ ಅಮಾಯಕರ ಸೇಡಿನ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲೇಕಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ .

Revenge based murder mystery.
Gives the feel of watching a movie. As the story progresses, a vague guess can be made on the story however it still manages to hold you hooked until the last page.

A small and quick read.

"ಇದು ಅರ್ಧ ಸತ್ಯ ಅರ್ಧ ಸುಳ್ಳು ತುಂಬಿರುವ ಸೇಡಿನ ಕಥೆ"

My first Kannada detective novel. This was a total movie feeling as it was very less detailed compared to other novels, swiftly paced, but amazingly written by Kowshik. I really enjoyed the way the writer shifted between timelines for each new chapter to keep some interesting details hidden, only to be revealed in later chapters along with necessary explanations.

Looking forward to other books by Kowshik.
