When Jay met Laia, it was love at first sight. But when Laia’s parents met Jay, disaster struck. To such an extent they forced her to choose between her family and her fiancé. Laia chose her fiancé, and that’s when the trouble started. The young couple soon became the victims of a harassment campaign, which led them to Odelia, who promised she would find the vicious stalker intent on their destruction.
And then of course there was the whole art class fiasco. I’d tell you more, but sometimes it’s best to find out for oneself. Also, I still haven’t fully recovered. Let’s just say that a sudden wave of artistic fervor swept across our family, affecting first Marge and Harriet, then Gran, then Tex, and finally even Grace, the most recent addition to the family roster. Suffice it to say, things soon turned ugly. Very ugly.
Nic has a background in political science and before being struck by the writing bug worked odd jobs around the world (including but not limited to massage therapist in Mexico, gardener in Italy, restaurant manager in India, and Berlitz teacher in Belgium).
When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.
He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.
Max and the gang have quite an adventure which actually includes all of cat choir to save one of their own! As usual Max big brain figures out the murders while he working on something else. Lots of family hijinxs included, not gran totally, was good story! Entertaining and delightful
I can never get enough of this series! It's so much fun to read. Max is a marvel and I absolutely love Dooley! Every new case they solve is so involved it keeps me on the edge of my seat until the end. I adore all the different characters and the story lines are so interesting. There's a lot of humor throughout the story and I enjoy that. Can't wait for the next book in this series!
Art Leading To Murder? Not What Anyone Would Expect!
In this story, painting is the rage! Either people want to paint or even catnap in order to get art created. How does painting lead to murder? You have to read to find out. A very surprising ending in which baby Grace helps Max figure out who the killer was. Fun moments with some surprises. A truly fun read!
Another great book by Nic Saint. Read it straight through and thought I knew who the killer I was wrong again! This book has many side issues, including catnapping, art models and of course, murder!
So this is another cat story with yet another twist. It seems this time it involves artists and models. But the author has figured out how to get baby Grace involved in the story.
Who killed Dylon and why??? And then Jay??? Thank you, Max!!! How do you keep the cats still long enough to paint them??? I enjoyed the story and recommend the book.
Another Brilliant book for the cat detectives. And who would have thought that beetles could be so entertaining 🐱 and extremely funny, you make my day. Thank you.
