Welcome to the twisted, addictive world of the Society of Secrets! Beneath the glamorous parties and glittering extravagance of Miami lay a dark world of murder, drugs, and corruption.
After four years of hard work at the University of Miami, I scored a position with the city’s most sought-after architect.
My first day on the job I attract the surprising attention of the three Vargas brothers. They’d never deigned to notice me in school, but suddenly I am the object of their lavish affection.
Elegant parties, gifts of jewelry and flowers, luxurious trips on their family yacht—it’s almost as if they’re competing over me. Why, I certainly have no idea.
Then, one night the curtain slips, and I see just what happens in the back room of those shimmering parties, and how the Vargas family have ruled over Miami for decades.
Terrified, I know with certainty that one of two things will happen: Either I become theirs, beholden to them and immersed in their world of wealth and privilege for the rest of my life.
Or no one will ever hear from me again.
Enter the dazzling shared world of the Society of Secrets, where each book is standalone and doesn't end on a cliffhanger.
Hi! I'm Laurel, I love all things fantasy, magic, and sci-fi, so you may find that my books have surprising twists that you didn't see coming.
I'm an avid traveller and adventurer, and I find my travels inspire stories I want to write! I have an amazing daughter and we currently live in the shadows of the Smoky Mountains. I love a good craft cocktail, sunny beaches and snowy slopes, and a cozy chair with a nearby fireplace for the perfect read.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, I actually felt sorry for Sloan having to choose between two families, but I'm glad it worked out in the end. Lots of character building throughout the book and its filled with emotion. Great read.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "GLAM" which hooks you right from the start so full of intrigue, secrets, danger, steam, murder, drugs, elegant parties, twists & surprises you didn't see coming its addicting to the very end. Sloane King gets her dream job as an architect with AJ Kellerman & Associates she become's friends with Rebecca at work, AJ asks Sloane to ve in meeting with Vincent, Elian & Sandro Vargas all who she knew 4years ago at University of Miami but they paid her no attention back then she had a crush on them. Elian Vargas sends an enormous bouquet of flowers after their meeting & wanting to take her to dinner but her boss AJ warned her not to get involved with them, but she couldn't resist & went to dinner he explained why he stayed away from her at school because of his parents. Sloane becomes involved with Sandro & Vincent as well against her AJ's advice she was being pulled into their danger out world of glamours parties, luxurious trips on their yachts, she accidently sees something she shouldn't have & to survive she has prove her loyalty to Vincent SR. Vargas. I definitely recommend to get this book I loved how Sloane, Elian, Sandro & Vincent all come together dealing with their dangerous cousins Miguel & Emiliano who had their own agenda, the ending blew be me away, when her guys show up at her home totally not what I expected, its a must read you don't want miss I thoroughly enjoyed this story. EXCELLENT UNIQUE MAFIA ROMANCE I LOVED THE CHARACTERS 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Glam is the 2nd book I've read in the Society of Secrets series. I love seeing what each author comes up with and I'm really glad to see that they all aren't in a school setting but out in the actual world as well. I like seeing how the Society plays a part in all the different facets of life. The thing I've noticed so far with these books, and it could definitely be different in the others, but the guys sort of don't seem as involved in the Society or you don't see how much influence they have with that group until closer to the end, so the darker aspects in these books aren't incredibly touched on. If you don't like super dark reads but enjoy a bit of mystery and a little bit of thrill with your reading, I think this would be a good one to pick up. Sloane and her guys were really sweet together. I liked how this was a second chance for all of them now that they were at a different place in their lives, each taking a step towards their future and somehow crossing paths again. Despite this being a mafia type of story, these guys weren't the stereotypical men you see in mafia books. They were lighthearted, funny, and serious but in a thoughtful way. Besides their cousins, there were no obvious signs of being linked to any darker aspects of that world and I think if Laurel were to ever dive into their story again, even if the world did end up getting darker around them, I know that their relationship would still stay light and full of love.
Oh I loved this story. It has so much potential to another great series but it is a standalone and I truly did enjoy it. I loved Sloane and how determined she is to make this right and be so independent. She has a sweet and caring personality that is felt throughout the story. The guys are this sexy mix of fun, playful, and serious. They are protective and kind. They have such fun personalities as well. The support characters add such a fantastic element to the story with their add in with either a comment or just a look. I loved Rebecca and her feisty personality. The descriptions are vivid and this allows me to easily picture what is occurring. One of the reasons I read is because I get to travel to places I have never been to and with descriptions like what is in the book I can easily see being in that location. Laurel Night always puts so much work into her stories and you can easily see it as you read through them. This one is no different. It is well written, developed, has an amazing storyline that draws you in and doesn’t let go. I would love to see and book with amazing characters. This is absolutely a must read. It will not disappoint.
Part of the shared world of the Society of Secrets, Glam is a short, full-length why-choose contemporary romance based in Miami. The FMC, Sloane, is a recent hire to an architectural firm and finds herself in a meeting with her three college crushes – the sexy Vargas brothers. Now caught in the sights of the three brothers she drooled over in college, they attempt to woo her and convince her that three is better than one. A shared wife to lavish with attention so she will never be lonely.
The build-up is quicker than we usually get from Laurel, but as a standalone, it fits perfectly into the plot. In a different spin of a why-choose romance, there are no group or MFM scenes. All s3xual interactions remain MF only.
For a short story, there is just enough drama and angst to give it some bite, and I loved their HEA. Plus, there are a few easter eggs for those who have read Laurel’s other contemporary release, Secrets Kill. Happy hunting!
Glam is a standalone book in the shared world of Society of Secrets. I haven't read the other books in this series yet, but they are on my TBR list now after reading this book by Laurel Night.
In this book, Sloane is fresh out of college with a degree and job in the architecture field. While on her first day, she comes across the three men who she crushed on during college. Little does she know that her life is about to change. These three Vargas men sweep her off her feet and into a glamorous lifestyle. She ends up becoming a witness to something she shouldn't have come across and it causes friction in her life. Her parents are cops after all and the men she is dating are part of the mafia/secret society. There was a nice little twist near the end that I was pleasantly surprised at. I only wish that there was more of an epilogue as I would have liked to read more about their life in the distant future. I do like how the story wrapped up as a whole though.
This was a great and refreshing read, even though there is mafia involved, it didn't really seem like the typical mafia romance, which was refreshing! Don't get me wrong I love it all mafia romances, but this seemed a little different.
Sloane has just graduated and gets a dream job in architecture. She ends up working on an assignment, where her crushes are her clients. There is an instant connection between the three Vargas brothers and Sloane. They are definitely swoon-worthy and are all, trying to capture her attention and heart.
This was an enjoyable read with suspense and twists. Even though it seemed pretty short, there was angst and drama, but all wrapped up nicely for them to get their happily ever after.
This was ok. I’ve only read one other story in this series and that was Luxe. Compared to Luxe this one was very watered down. I did see the message up front to stay the secret society link is light on, but it was a quick mention at the end to wrap up the issues. I would have loved to see the danger of the brotherhood come out to play more. I liked the FMC though. And it was an easy read. Although I was surprised that the main protagonist and challenge was the mother of the FMC? Not the brotherhood, mafia or anything else? Sure she rubbed a few of them up the wrong way but there wasn’t real challenge there. It was just things that happened to push the FMC to the next decision point, with little angst about it.
I enjoyed this contemporary romance. I loved that it was set in Miami since that's where I grew up so it helped really visualize where the characters were. The guys were all sexy, latin Mafia men. Sloane was a smart girl but my only issue was that she was just too accepting of the guys & the family when she found out. Considering her parents jobs I expected way more of a freak out and some distancing. However, this is also a standalone so unless I wanted a 700 page book I understood the why. And it didn't take away from the story either. I mean if 3 hot, rich brothers suddenly turned on the charm and it turned out they'd been wanting me for years I too would've jumped at the chance. If you like Mafia romance then definitely check this out.
A new job, a the architectural firm she wanted, and Sloane feels like her dreams have come true.
When Sloane graduated from college, with the degree she always wanted, she never realized that was just the beginning. Now, after her first meeting with new clients, she finds out that her firm will be working with the three men she had a crush on. Then, she finds out that she might not have been the only one hiding a secret attraction. The characters are fun, the romance steamy, and the secrets that their families have been keeping, set the scene for a fun adventure on the wild side.
Once again Laurel knocked it out of the park. I had previously only read her paranormal stuff so I wasn’t sure what to expect but honestly I loved it. The relationship development between Sloane and her guys, not to mention her professional drive was outstanding. You see a lot of meek FMC who totally give up their dreams and goals when they meet their harem but Sloane was absolutely not like that. I adore all the guys but Vincente is just such a softie by the end he might be my favorite. But I digress, I went into this book totally blind and ended up loving it. You won’t regret picking it up even though it’s different than Laurels usual style
I received and ARC of Glam and was warned from the beginning that this isn’t Laurel’s normal style.. let me just say that you would NEVER know! Glam was an absolutely amazing story with an instant connection between the main characters that I loved!! The Vargas brothers are absolutely swoon worthy and may have become some of my favorite book boyfriends!😍 this book will have you laughing one moment and screaming WTF the next. I’m only upset that their story has ended. If you’re on the fence about reading this book, take the dive and do it!!💜
I really liked how different this book was compared to what Laurel Night normally writes. I loved the suspense of how Sloane is reintroduced to three of her college crushes and how we are able to see how the relationships progress. The suspense of how her mother and father are both police officers, and she is seeing the sons of the mafia make it even more suspenseful. I love seeing how the relationships grow and the trust that is built between the characters. The ending did have an interesting turn, which made it even better. Would definitely recommend reading this book!
The three Vargas brothers are dreamy and absolutely delicious in this standalone crime syndicate tale! Add in a determined and driven FMC for the perfect quick read!
Sloane is so relatable for all of us oldest children who helped raise their younger siblings! If only we all had our own trio of hot, super rich men to worship us!
The writing was just as incredible and easy to read as all of Laurel Night’s other stories! With a softer take on the criminal world to pull you into this shared world of secret societies!
I loved this! It's a very low angst and totally non-gritty mafia romance. I usually like them a little darker and with a little more substance, but you know what, this was cute, and I totally digged it. 🤷♀️ All the characters are easily loveable, it's all just quite adorable. It does feel like it wrapped up very quickly near the end, I could have done with a bit more depth or angst in the last few chapters, but I actually kind of loved the chill factor for once, felt like a nice warm hug!
Mafia Why choose romance FMMM Total cinnamon roll guys Low angst Low spice
Mafiosos can be good people The Vargas brothers were raised into a crime syndicate with expectations to take over their fathers empire. Sloane kept her head down in college and achieved high marks as she graduated with her architectural degree. The chemistry between Sloan, who doesn't even realize she's being courted, and the guys is notable when reading. The anticipation for her HEA makes this a definite pageturner and despite their combined circumstances they make the best of it and it's delicious. Awesome series with some twists.
This was a great read, it was just that perfect little mix of warm spice and mafia. I loved Sloane, she was a great character, very independent, intelligent, and lucky because her men, the Vargas brothers, were drool-worthy and treated her well. It was great reading about them, I loved how clearly one could picture things because the storyline was well written. The storyline also had romance, angst, drama, and a beautiful ending to make you smile. This was worth the read and one I recommend!
This book sucks you in straight away, on a ride filled with three hot brothers. We meet Sloane starting her new job when in walks Vincente, Elian and Sandro walk into the office, and she see's the guys she has fantasised while she was at U of M.
This is when Sloane and the guys twisty journey begins, with some sweet moments and some twists that make her wonder if she's doing the right thing. Especially when a few bad things happen. To then come to such a great ending I really loved and enjoyed reading.
Glam by Laurel Night is part of a shared series called Society of Secrets. We meet Sloane, who has just started a new job in Miami at an architectural business. She runs into the Vargas Brothers, who she knew in college. This is a RH story, but the smexy times are only with FMC and one MMC. No group scenes. I loved this short, hot story. Sloane is great. The brothers are spicy! This does have an HEA, which was great.
Glam is a fast paced and steamy RH standalone! Sloane is a headstrong and driven young woman who put herself through college and earned herself a great career. That career though brings the Vargas brothers back into her life after knowing two of them in college and dreaming of the third. The guys are all very different but I do think Elian is my favorite. I loved the romantic aspect that’s behind the Vargas’ and Sloane and the bedroom scenes are spicy are on point.
This was a great read! I did not put it down once I started. Sloane is a perfectly relatable character. I love the hot guys coming in and immediately going after her. I really love the way they go about it. I was in shock, serious open-mouthed shock over the incident with Sloane’s mom! I really want to talk about more, but everything is so connected it will give stuff away! I’m recommending this book to everyone who likes a contemporary mafia rh!
Another great story in this shared world. Sloane was is a hardworking girl that just got her job at the firm of her dreams … in walks the men of her dreams. The three guys she crushed hard on in college. Well college is the and it’s game on! Thrust into a world of glamour and glitz she experiences her own Cinderella story.. of course there is some crime and a secret society. Great fast paced quick read! I highly recommend this book and this world!
As many of us will agree, the Vargas Brothers are absolutely delicious in this crime Syndicate story. Add a relatable FMC in Sloane and you have a rather entertaining read. I loved the connection between Sloane and each of the brothers. I mean, who wouldn't want three brothers to dote and love on you? The pace of this story is perfect, with minimal angst and drama, and it leaves you feeling content and eager for more from this shared world!
This was a nice slow burn, standalone in the society of secrets series. Sloane works hard to get were she is as the first female architect where she works. On her first day, she has a blast from the past run in with 3 guys who want to hire the company she works for. Sloane soon finds herself entangled in family business, that put her in danger. The guys are so sweet and caring. Surprises turn up and shocking ending will have you reading this to the end. Great read!
Sloane is an architect, and on her first day at work she runs into not one, but three of her previous crushes, who also happen to be rich brothers. I went into this book without reading the synopsis and was pleasantly surprised when it turned into a why choose romance.
If you like some light mafia vibes, this is the book for you. Spice-wise, I'd rate it 1 out of 4 chili peppers🌶
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
This was a great book, I really loved the opening scene it had me. Sloane really does a great job putting Frank in his place. She is an architect, just graduated, the story starts out on her first day in her new job.
There is some great scenes in here, I really enjoyed reading it. The scenes are nicely detailed without being over the top descriptive.
The book is set in the same story era as Society of Secrets but this is a stand-alone so you don't need to read anything before this book.
Sloane is a driven FMC filled with sass but also very caring and has a vulnerable streak. The Vargas brothers are very attentive and sweet but are surrounded by mystery. Their connection was beautiful and I loved the twist which I didn’t see coming.
Glam even had a sneaky crossover with 2 characters from Laurels Avenge her series.
Overall a great read and a fantastic addition to the Society of Secrets collection
Glam is a standalone book and a great addition in the Society of Secrets world. I think the pacing was good for a short story, and quite a different spin on the mafia world. Loved that the boys are basically all in from the start and no messing around with OW drama. I think i would have liked some of the plot to be explained better and the H's reaction to a lot of situations was under done for the gravity of the situation. Overall its a really good/easy book to read.
Sloane is an architect fresh out of university. She gets hired at the best architecture firm. On her first day she runs into the three brothers from the university that she has had crushes on for years. They turn on the charm, give her gifts, and take trips. She is falling for the brothers. Once she finds out what happens behind the curtain, she knows she has to make a choice. There is only two options, which will she choose? If you like Mafia stories, I highly recommend this one.
Sloane never dreamed how well all her hard work and discipline would pay off, but here she was working at one of the best architectural firms in the easten US. Add to that the phenomonal luck of being added to a project for 3 of the hottest men she's ever known, and what more could she ever want??
Well, aside from not walking in on a drug deal, or having to pledge loyalty to the local mob family... Wow, life just got a WHOLE lot more complicated for the daughter of a couple of cops.
