I’ve always known I’m a terrible cook. But summoning a demon while attempting to make a simple chicken soup? That’s just next level.
Asmodeus, King of Hell, ruler over too many demon armies to try counting them, is in the middle of my destroyed kitchen, awaiting an explanation. He says I’m a powerful witch, but that’s just ridiculous. He says he’s bound to me, and he’ll fulfill any wish I have.
What do I say? Despite his horns, hooves, and tail, he’s stupidly handsome. And I need to find a way to banish him before he gets under my skin.
Cara Wylde loves to write about strong, feisty women and their hot Alphas who will do anything to make them happy. Her books are filled with romance and just a dash of mystery, suspense, and that eerie atmosphere she fell in love with reading too many gothic novels. With a master's degree in Comparative Literature, she can't help but play with tropes and themes from various genres, trying to come up with fresh perspectives on the paranormal characters her readers love so much. Vampires, shape-shifters, demons, witches... Cara will always make sure they get their own twists.
When she's not writing, Cara is reading, planning her next story, or daydreaming. Her idea of pure heaven is a day filled with nothing but her laptop, a huge coffee pot, relaxing music, and a new, exciting project.
I liked it. Cover of the second book caught my attention. Short and sweet, Katie the unsuspecting witch and the demon of lust and desire himself Asmodeus. Didn’t like the other two waitresses and I liked Az’s influence just walking around. The break up and make up was quick.

This was a very entertaining story, although short, placing you in Katie's life. I will be looking at cooking with other eyes. Maybe one day I will summon my own demon. 🤣🤭🤔
The whole story happens in a few days, and it does have a happy ending.
I started reading this as a recommendation for a spicy book, but it didn't have much action involved.
Overall, it's a good short story with a start and ending and I really enjoyed it.
This book was brilliant, funny and plenty of steam and every page I turned kept me wanting more. Katie has alway be the worse cook in the world she is that bad she can’t even boil water but wanting to make chicken soup for her father so if she follows her grandmother’s recipe it should all work out and be perfect but as usual nothing works out for Katie because it’s a magical spell book that her grandmother owned and was a powerful witch and she has just summoned Asmodeus the King of hell and ruler of demon armies to her kitchen and has no idea how she done it but upon seeing him with horns , hooves and tail he is still quite good looking and he tells her that they are bound together unless she can banish him or he grants her her one desire. Now with a new roommate following her everywhere even to her work pretending to be her boyfriend until they can work it all out but what neither of realised was the closer they got the harder it was to keep there hands to themselves and wow tongues and talented tails are an unexpected bonus in the bedroom. Asmodeus is quite surprised by the witch that has summoned him and doesn’t know how she do it to her kitchen but she is gorgeous and makes to most of it until she can send him back or he can grant her one desire and now he is surfing the tv looking to buy her anything she desires but she tells him she is happy and doesn’t need anything but now she wonders if her one desire I’d him and what it could mean for them both when they live in two different worlds. To find out this all works out get this amazing book you won’t be disappointed.
This was an interesting read. I applaud the author for such a bold story. It’s not often you find “Chicken Soup” in a romantic/erotic title, if ever. The premise was good for me and as I kept reading the characters began to rub off on me. That’s a good thing! What I didn’t enjoy was the depth. It felt like a story that could have been told in 30-50 pages. Also, the spice or smut wasn’t really that hot. Lots of cute flirting but not much payoff for me.

Katie is just a lovely person. She has no real idea at all of "what" she is though. She is not so bad that she manages to burn water instead of boiling it yet it would be a fair comment to say she not exactly gifted in the kitchen. She makes the mistake of trying to follow a recipe for chicken soup out of her grandmother's old recipe book. Somehow though the result is not a succulent and aromatic stew, nooo it is a succulent and aromatic demon. Right in the middle of her kitchen and he's not happy. Beautiful to look at (although he might think that a bit girly) but not happy. He might also be a little impressed but he's also not admitting to that either. Asmodeus is a King of Hell, minions at his beck and call and somehow he has been summoned by this little witch that seems to have absolutely no idea who he is. Well he's going to teach her and then he's going to get her to send him straight back... Yeah about that.... Deep breaths Asmodeus, deep breaths. This was such a fun read. I loved it. It was quirky, filled with fun and humour, not to mention a little bit of the sweet stuff. I really hope to either find out more about Katie and her Demon or others in the same situation.
I loved the cooking and food element in this one! The premise and the entire story is very unique as well. I bet Katie's grandmother was a kitchen witch and I hope to see more of her spells guised as recipes in the following books in this series. It's very lighthearted, fast, and fun to read. I would definitely read more from the author.
Katie attempts to cook chicken soup from her grandma's recipe book, but it goes wrong in a puff of smoke and she accidentally summons a demon, Asmodeus. It turns out her grandma was a powerful witch and the recipes are her spellbook. The demon can't go back to Hell unless he can grant Katie's desire or unless Katie banishes him but she can't tell which recipe would be a banishment. A demon as a roommate is not all bad because he is good at fixing things but it is a bit annoying that he makes her click through a ton of ads for useless stuff in the hopes that she'd see something she desires. He tags along at Katie's work, pretends to be her dream boyfriend there, and she finds out what a demon's tail and a forked tongue are good for in the bedroom. But a witch can't keep a demon as a pet without bad consequences so she has to find a way to let him return to Hell.
This was a really fun paranormal novelette, entertainingly written and I would definitely read more from this author. Asmodeus was cute for a demon and I liked the way Katie was able to resist desiring stupid material possessions because she was happy about her life.

Interesting premise, but needs more time in the oven
I picked this up because I thought the premise was interesting; a witch who accidentally summons the prince of hell while trying to make soup...amazing, I'm in. But unfortunately, as hilarious as the idea is, the reality falls short. The pacing is too fast, with no world building or character development. The heroine acknowledges that the demon magic is messing with her judgement, but then instantly falls in love. There was so much potential for funny moments or interesting plot twists, but ultimately the whole thing is just lackluster. Even the sex fell short, which is means this doesn't even work as erotica. I didn't really care about the characters, which meant I just couldn't get excited about them getting together, in any sense of the words. Overall, I would pass on any of this series.
This was an awesome short PNR that is a bit different than other stories and I loved every word of it.
Katie finds an old journal of her grandmother's under her dad's bed. Thinking it's a cookbook, she makes the chicken soup recipe and low and behold she accidentally summons a demon. But not just ANY demon, she summons Asmodeus, one of the princes, and has absolutely no clue how to send him back. Linked to her, he is angry that she summoned him and doesn't want anything from him and can't send him back. But the more time they spend together, romance starts to bloom.
Loved this story and the ending was b just gaaaahhhh!! 😍😍😍
I have never read this author before and this book did not impress. The writing was ok, no big glaring errors; however, I have never read about a less frightening demon...ever...in any book. Other than being physically different than a human, he was basically a nice guy, who apparently instantly fell in love with the human/witch who summoned him. I have read of demons who had some good hidden deep within them (usually very deeply buried) but this guy would be the teddy bear of demons. In my opinion, don't make one of your MC's a demon if you really don't want him to be demonic.
I see there are other books in the Food and demons' series, but I will not be reading them.
Asmodeus, a prince from down below, is summoned by Katie who is making chicken soup out of an old cookbook. The cookbook belonged to her grandmother, a powerful witch and the recipes are spells. Love the characters, their surprise and his battle to get her to wish for something..... anything. The characters are terrific, with great backstories, intense feelings, fun banter and some steam. The storyline is unique and the entertaining situations are a hoot. Was sorry to see the end of the storyline come so soon. . The plot beginning is hilarious - who could imagine a simple kitchen recipe book could be, in fact, a bunch of magic spells. Our unsuspected witch didn't and summons a powerful demon that has no patience for mistakes like this - at least until he discovers her charms are something new and irresistible. The barter between the two of them is fantastic (she plays hard to get) and when her demon enters her real life the clash is hilarious and super fun. I wish the story would continue because I would love to see more of her mistakes as she cracks the rest of the recipe book and learns how to be a proper witch.
I found the title of the book so original that I had to read it. It's really well written for a short story.
I really liked Katie. She's not the best cook and tends to set things on fire. Chicken soup, at least that's what she thinks, should be easy to manage. - Stupid only when grandma's recipes turn out to be spells and you suddenly have an angry demon in the kitchen... Her "You were supposed to be chicken soup!" brings a real kick into her life.
And said demon? - Well, he doesn't like boredom and is an expert when it comes to lust and seduction. And if he has to wait until he is sent back to hell, he can also pass the time in a useful way...
Katie cannot make even chicken soup without calling forth a demon that she does not even know how she did it. A delightful story about a human girl who does not know that she comes from a long line of witches and at her grandmother‘s cookbook is actually a spell book. When she makes the recipe for chicken soup all she is thinking about is giving her dad a healthy meal. Instead, she calls forth a demon who is not very happy that she brought him into her world.. that’s the fun begins as they try to find a spell to send him back and chaos issues. Absolutely a delightful tale and I cannot wait to read more.
Too short! D: I wanted more!! I loved the concept the author built off of and the characters were interesting; I definitely wanted to know more about the FMC’s family history. It’s a charming little story though, I enjoyed the amount of heat the author was able to achieve in such a short time. And the way it wrapped up was satisfying enough, although I would definitely read a full length novel if given the chance!
It was a nice taste of the author’s writing and I will definitely be looking into her other work after reading this.
Katie was Trying to do something nice for her father, she had no idea that cooking up a pot of chicken soup with her grandmother's recipe would, or even could, summon a demon. Asmodeus is King of Hell and he has been summoned by a powerful witch who insists on denying wat she is, he has to convince her to release him, he has armies to lead after all. Wonderful characters in a sweet, sexy and funny read, with a happily ever after. I loved it!

I don't know why it took me so long to read this because I love it.
Was it the best book ever? No but it made me laugh really hard. There were points where I had to put my kindle aside to laugh because there is no way I'm taking a chicken soup demon seriously. And I don't think you're supposed to tbh. Some of the descriptions were. There. That's all I can say about it but hey not a single "member" was mentioned and thats a win in my book.
It also made me crave chicken soup and I don't eat chicken. But I did immediately buy book two because as a horrible cook, I wanna be prepared okay.
Katie uses her grandmother's old recipe book and gets more than she bargined for. She now has a hot and bothered demon in her kitchen, making her think all sorts of things. Katie is a witch in denial and Asmodeus is a lust demon, things are about to get interesting. Love this story and look forward to reading more in this series.

All she was trying to do was cook a chicken soup but somehow she now has the king of hell in her kitchen. He tells her she is a powerful witch and he will do anything she wants of him. She is stunned and she wants him gone as quickly as he had appeared. How did she do it? Can she send him back? How can she send him back? See how she gets on with the king of hell

Katie's a lousy cook but decides to try cooking up some chicken soup from a recipe in an old family cookbook. A recipe that is actually a spell that summons a demon, Asmodeus, complete with horns, hooves, and a tail. Unbeknownst to Katie, she's a witch with casting abilities, too bad that she can't give Asmodeus what he wants...to be banished back to hell. And the longer that the two are around one another, the hotter and steamier their relationship is getting.
Katie & Asmodeus’s story was a cute, sexy instalove-ish novella. It was a quick bite, perfect if you can’t sleep but have an hour or two before you absolutely, positively must get some zzzs. The biggest detracting factor for me was the “Katie’s not like other [redacted]” plot device… that is one of my pet peeves, but if it’s not an issue for you, you’ll be into this novella for sure.
This was a great read full of great chemistry and a female main character that just isn't what the main male character expects her to be. I loved the characters and seeing how they came together this was full of steam and great dialogue. Quite an enjoyable read.
Five out of five stars.

That tail was a nice addition. Interesting dynamic, 1 hot scene, and a sprinkling of adorable mush. Minimal typos close together, so I think a page was skimmed while proofreading. I'm confused about the next book. Is it the same FMC? A new guy in addition to Asmodeus? I'd buy that book.
This is an entertaining short story with strong characters. It's a fun paranormal read when Katie conjures up a demon while making chicken soup with her grandmother's recipe. It's well written, moves quickly and smoothly and is an enjoyable read.

Great Premise, Terrific Book This story was such fun to read; an accidental summoning of the great Asmodeus by an accidental witch, what could be more fun. I really like how Katie didn’t succumb easily to Asmodeus’ charms or his influence, but stuck to her principles. A great read - I’m excited for the other books in this series!
