Max and Arinna are together at last but their troubles are far from over. Before Max can count his task fulfilled, his newly secured dark goddess must return home and claim her throne. Unfortunately, there's only one way to go. The light knows that all too well and they'll be waiting with everything they've got.
To make the journey, Max will need to call in every favor from every living being he's met along the way. Given the enormity of the task, however, that alone is unlikely to be enough. It might be time to enlist the dead as well.
I am Tim Paulson, writer of fantasy and science fiction.
I'm currently writing the Bone knight litRPG series. It's fun to revisit the game worlds I enjoyed when I was young. I grew up with Final Fantasy, Mechwarrior, Dragon warrior (known to many as Dungeon Quest), and X-COM. These games, along with a whole lot of movies and books, have informed what I think is cool: Impossible odds and grave decisions with monumental stakes.
Bone knight book nine, the finale for the series, is currently underway. After that is complete, I have a new litRPG series already planned that should come out in time for Christmas 2022.
Also: Audiobooks are on the way and a Boneknight RPG game is currently in development.

READ THIS AWESOME BOOK! There are many reasons why you should read this book. Mytten the most amazing giant spider in the world being a big one. She gives awesome hugs too. Spiders duly mentioned, this book is just so much fun that it was a tragedy when it ended. As usual the book was really too short, bordering on being more of a novella than a book. But it is packed so full of action, fun, and great characters that you don’t mind too much.
Each of Max’s summons has an amazing character and personality, Scruff and Mytten are so affectionate and caring of Max. I hope Neline doesn’t turn out to be evil. There is action overload in a good way in this book. It stream rolls from action piece to action piece, each getting bigger and better each time. The author obviously had a great time writing this book, and that oozes out of the pages and infects the reader. Its fun, its full of action, warmth, character, great dialogue, brilliant set pieces, and an undead skeletal army. You just can’t ask for any more than this book gives. It is truly awesome!
One criticism, Max has opened access to several advanced classes, he often stresses how much overpowered advanced classes are, so why on earth hasn’t he unlocked or used them? That makes no sense. Especially as the one trial he did do for Gladiator was virtually instantaneous in real time. There is no reason that he hasn’t. And that is honestly my only criticism.
I enjoyed the book, you will too, buy it, read it. You won’t regret it.
The gang is back! This time Arinna takes a more leading character position as she joins Max and Trina’s team. We don’t know her very well and she has some very low, disappointing experience points. Overtime as her point value increases, so does her bond with Max and Trina. I will say I was expecting a certain type of relationship between Max and Arinna and it is different, but I think this is better overall.
Every book has a similar vibe. Max and company are fighting bad guys, losing points, gaining points, picking a new job class and Max is trying to figure out the mystery of his father, his betrothed status and how he will get Arinna back on her throne. In every book we see Max become a little more confident as a person and as a leader of his party. He is still the same goofy, witty Max though. He continues to be by far one of my favorite characters. I look forward to when he is at center stage. “Hey guys, got any sugar I can borrow?”
Another highlight is Scruff too. I like his little tentacled friend. He is kind of a little demon that likes to kill things and ask no questions. I always hope that he pops up in a scene from time to time. My absolute favorite is Raeg. Since he “died” I have been waiting and waiting for him to come back. You get a solution with his character, I will not spoil it. I will say this book picked up steam and ended at a place that has me excited for book eight. The team is seriously going to kick butt. Be ready!
A decant read in series nothing major to add if like previous books will probably like this one too & around two more to go in series I'm looking forward to see how ends.
I hugely miss the status screens especially when changing classes for instance just really like way look in this book series so shame as books go on seem see it less and less.
P.s. one thing did really bug me is constantly referring to vita as puppy as I am sure in previous book she was cat like cute and purring when mc petted her. (So why now referred to as a dog.) Also found way Arrina had be with mc all the time very annoying especially but got better as went on. Also Tela the pegasus spirit is alsome & mytten nice & offers summons cool.
Max is getting the band back together. What's better than 2 undead monsters? Three undead monsters. Can Max return his goddess to her homeland? This and more. Tom out.
This was a good romp. Lots of action, more classes explored and more character development. All in all a great addition to the series. Off to read the next one!
