For over 70 years, DeVorss Publications has been the proud publisher of Neville Goddard, who was among the last century's most articulate and charismatic purveyors of the New Thought philosophy. The Power that makes Achievement and Attainment Inevitable.
Neville Goddard was a writer, speaker and mystic. He taught various self-help methods for testing his own claim that the human imagination is omnificent, therefore God. He achieved popularity by reinterpreting the Bible and the poetry of William Blake.
Really enjoying this book, very insightful. Would recommend this book for anyone who is seeking a better understanding of self and a spiritual life. I bought this bestseller from: https://www.amazon.com/Awakened-Imagi...
Neville Goddard's Awakened Imagination is founded on the principle, also enunciated in such books such as Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich and more recently in The Secret, that in order to achieve any goal we must first gain it in our imagination. This principle can be applied to anything from fulfilling material desires to genuine spiritual seeking. In a way, it's the key to just about everything, because most of our problems in life are due to a perceived gap between where we are and where we want to be. This book elucidates the spiritual mechanics that underlies our existence. To enter into any state of being, we have to consent to the ideas and feelings that it represents. If we want to be successful in any endeavor, we have to consent to that success. So much of our time is spent putting up barriers to exactly what we want to gain and what we want to accomplish. Essentially, what we are all doing with our lives is learning how to put this principle into practice.
some really good things but too much Jesus Christ and Bible quotes for my none relegious ass. I love the message tho. give me so much energy and hope and makes me want to create something beautiful for myself and for others. I'm thinking of one person in particular while listening to Neville Goddard's books and it makes me so happy. it's like a miracle to me even though I thought about it so much and so hard in the end it's not a miracle, I made it happen and I can't wait to witness the next part of all of this.
This little book is very similar to Neville's other books. It is filled to overflowing with citations from Blake, who apparently was of great inspiration to him, and from the Bible.
Neville's main teaching is that God or the Christ in us is our imagination and that we can become or achieve anything we desire by imagining that we are, or have achieved, it. He illustrates his tenets by stories both from his own personal experience and that of others. He tells us that we need to sustain the feeling of the wish fulfilled.
He is wonderfully articulate though his language can for modern readers seem slightly obscure or difficult.
A useful exercise he suggests is at the end of the day to revise mentally any scene that has occurred that was not to your liking. If you receive an unpleasant letter, for instance, rewrite it in your head and make it to your liking. In your imagination read the revised letter again and again. This will lead to positive results/changes regarding the matter in real life.
The message is:
Everything that occurs in your life has been created by you yourself. You can just as well become conscious of this and take an active part in creating a better future by means of your imagination.
If you're a Neville fan, you will want this book too!
This isn't for everyone, I know that, but it's a great read for those that are on a journey to understand the power given innately if we choose to unlock that mystery. I enjoyed the stories that others shared in the book although they are truly dated it's still applicable to us now. If you enjoy "higher-conscious" and "your thoughts are what make you" type of reading material then you will enjoy this book
“The future must become the present in the imagination of the one who would wisely and consciously create circumstances. We must translate vision into Being, thinking ‘of’ into thinking ‘from’. Imagination must center itself in some state and view the world from that state. Thinking ‘from’ the end is an intense perception of the world of fulfilled desire. Thinking ‘from’ the state desired is creative living.”
cus i feel like this made everything click. almost like my years worth of introspection and hard work made Sense w this book. need to take more notes to remember but it’s like… i finally understand why i’ve been failing omg..
Metaphysical teacher, Goddard Neville, explains how the human imagination IS the medium that creates each person's experiences. This book teaches how to harness this infinite power which we all posess.
Fascinating book about the power of our imagination. We can do sooo much more than we ever imagined (pun intended!) with our thinking. Interested to see how this book affects real, tangible, every day situations in my own life and not just the conceptual.
