If you in general like Trent Evans' smut you'll probably like this though.
Finally. This is the first fiction book I've been able to finish in over a month. I was wondering if I needed to switch genres or something to get out of my reading slump. What can I say?
I'm a whore for Omegaverse.
This is well-written, well-edited, and 100% pure smut. Strong BDSM & D/s themes so if that isn't your thing you may not like this. This had slight At His Will vibes, but the Omegaverse version. If you didn't like that book than you may not like this one either. The warnings in the blurb are accurate, so take note.
The description of the Omega's heat was hot. I'd like to see more nesting in future Omegaverse books by these authors. I miss good ol' fashioned nesting in my Omegaverse. I'd also like to see an Omegaverse from Trent with more description of the bond between the H/h. There's room for more development when it comes to the depth of the characterization, especially the relationship between both main characters. However, I took this book for what it is - Omegaverse smut. It would also be cool to see this author write a scifi Omegaverse, since I think a scifi Omegaverse from Trent Evans would include more world-building. Overall this was solid erotica. Victoria Johnson is a new to me author, I'll be checking out her catalogue.
This also needed more knotting ;)

I love everything Trent has written,so Primal Claim was a story i was looking forward to.
Knowing him,he’d give the Alpha/Omega genre a twist of his own,one where the Alpha would probably be a REAL Alpha….strong,stern and with a healthy splash of a sadistic streak.
And so when he asked if i was interested in the ARC,i immediately jumped up and shouted YES PLEASE!
What i got was what i expected and só much more!
And i loved every second of it even as i was uncomfortably aroused throughout….
Chastity is a succesful businesswoman who never experienced heat.
She enjoys her work and likes her life as it is.
Even though she sometimes looks envious at photos of lucious Omegas,she doesn’t envy their lives.
Because Omegas are property,to be used as their Alphas like.
And then,one day,Chastity starts to feel horrible at work….
She manages to get home before she really gets sick,but it gets worse from there.
The next day isn’t any better,so she makes an appointment with her doctor.
Who gives her the news she feared most of all….she seems to be in heat!
Overwhelmed by the bad news,she makes the mistake of walking home…..
Adam is on the phone with his foreman when a woman stumbles into him.
When she looks back as she tries to continue her journey,he’s struck by her beautiful dazed blue eyes.
And by her scent next….
Having lived his entire life believing he’d never meet a true Omega,this one seems like the real deal and he follows her home.
It doesn’t take him very long to convince himself of the fact that she is in fact an Omega,and that she’s experiencing her first heat.
As a real Alpha,Adam forces himself into her life after he helps her through that heat.
And what he gets is beyond his wildest dreams….
Chastity’s life is changed from the moment she meets Adam.
What he does to her body is bad,but she finds herself craving the way he treats her.
Even if her mind doesn’t agree.
If only she could be sure he doesn’t merely see her as an object,one he can use whenever and however he feels like it…
Adam finds himself obsessed with his Omega,and the things he wants to do to her.
He makes sure,from the start,that she is his and will have to follow his orders,or else…
But when somewhere along the line,feelings grow,what does that do?
This is what i love about Trent’s stories!
They make you uncomfortable because you enjoy what’s happening.
The men are MEN,and even if they admit they have feelings,they don’t compromise…
The women may seem to suffer,but in the end they love what’s been done to them.
And Primal Claim is an excellent example of Trent’s special brand of rough love!

Don't mind me, just enjoying my degrading smut here. Trent Evans sure can write the squirmy scenes! Giving this 5 stars because I believe in the romance a scooch more than I did in Evans' other book that I read, At His Will.
Trent Evans is a writer for smut with a sprinkle of romance. Romance is defined as the MCs are, more or less, monogamous, have an intense physical attraction, and declare their "I love you" before The End. The romance defined in Evans' universe is thus a sprinkle of what we commonly understand it to be. The romance really comes down to two people finding the perfect dom/sub, master/slave.
That's it.
So then. You will enjoy this work for what it is if you like reading smut and if you are fine with that being the romance defined. If you do not, you are either going to be bored or offended. But you are not judging the book by its own merits. This is a sexual fantasy that will be someone's jam. If it's not your jam, carry on.
Having said all of this, I was fine with everything but I thought it was strange choice to add a disturbing fact about the omegaverse and quickly gloss it over. The existence of breeder farms and the abuse that could transpire, including the pills omegas can be put in to be constantly breeding. This abuse was glossed over by one dude who was like, don't worry. I check in to ensure these are legit sales.
Mmmkay I don't know about that. Sure. You're going to save all the omegas that are being abused... from the bad alphas... even though the "Good" alphas are also breeding their omegas too. I thought this was unintentionally dark and funny. Alphas basically have complete control over omegas, regardless of a heat contract to make it legal or not. That part jolted me out of the fantasy and as you can see, my brain turned on.
However, I did finish this and ate it up like a snack. More Trent Evans reads in the future for me!

Is it possible to feel dirty after you finish a book? Yes
Yuk I can’t believe I finished it. Yes I love me a good omega/ alpha troupe. Half the omega troupe wasn’t even included and missed the mark to me. The attitudes of the alphas toward the omegas wasn’t one of worship and caring it was just one of a sex toy with no brains and are mindless vaginas that just need to learn. Sure the traditional omegaverse the omega loves sex lots of it but she in honored and worshipped by her alpha just not happening here.
Ughh through the whole book he treated her so callously like an object. Okay I get the turn on but 24/7 with no break and no feelings I just can’t get into. Yeah the humiliation and begging and telling what you want is hot, but I guess it only goes so far and I need the feels, sorry just the way I am. Then he brings in an “expert”. He is disgusting. He just goes around and cops feels on omegas. His concept of women is degrading and he is a prev.
I should have known better because I had the same feelings when I read this author last time. I’m going to give three because I knew what I was sorts getting into. But it really deserves a two.

While well-written, this book lacked the characteristics of the Omegaverse that I like—such as knotting, mutual biting, the mate bond, a protective Alpha, and nesting. I wasn’t feeling the chemistry between the MC’s. Adam was needlessly callous and cruel, especially about her autonomy and her job. I wonder what ended up happening with her job? It seemed she was put needlessly in danger and that the other Alphas were circling like sharks.
Maddox was a super creepy character. I don’t understand what he was there for. There were some hot scenes in this book, but the humiliation was OTT. I wasn’t feeling the love during the supposed HEA. The author has created a depressing world for Omegas, as they seem to be valued only as chattel and not as human beings by all of society. An epilogue would’ve been nice to have seen how things turned out.

I usually enjoy this authors stories and this was no exception. My only disappointment was that it ended. I wanted more. Very well done omegaverse. Great characters. I enjoyed the bdsm aspect.

A very Dark Read
I saw a 1 star review for this book on another platform and am curious why, when the publisher came out and told people what to expect, that this person even bothered to read then book and to then give it bad review. The Publisher’s Notes tells you exactly what to expect with this book and it is accurate. So, if this is not your thing, don’t read it. As well, what the reader needs to remember, is that this is not a story about our society and the interactions between men and women in real life. This is a sci-fi style story – it is fiction. I think it is important to remember that.
This is a dark read that takes place in a world where people biologically are either Alphas, Omegas, Beta or Neutrals. Betas and Neutrals go through life much like we do in our world. But the life of an Alpha or Omega is NOT what happens in our world. In this fictional Sci-Fi world, Alphas are always looking for an Omega to complete him. Omegas for the most part probably wish they were not Omegas. The life between an Alpha and an Omega is very different. As much as an Omega would not want to be one, she cannot fight and win against her biology or the Alpha who will claim her. If you are looking for something hot and steamy in this genre you will probably enjoy it. Be warned that is does centre around a non-consensual relationship but this is fact due to the biology of characters. It is a dark read but it can be an enjoyable read as well. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Buckle up. TIGHT.
This one is an intense ride.
This is not your typical Omegaverse tale.
Most important, the writing IMO is excellent. I was smoothly lured into the story of Adam (Alpha) & Chasity (Omega). Yet once Chastity suddenly, after decades as a 'neutral', presented as an Omega, I was immediately sucked into the maelstrom of her new inevitable existence.
And I consider it a testimony to the writing skills of the authors this story deeply impacted me emotionally. Because the Alphas in this Omegaverse are constantly hoping, hunting, living to find an Omega to bend to their will, control & domination. And these Alphas are harsh & cruel taskmasters, owners, of the Omegas in their world. Even the law turns a cold eye to any charges brought by one of the hapless, & helpless, Omegas. The only proviso: an Alpha may not cause permanent harm. But that includes, & leaves, a lot of wiggle room.
And while Adam does insure Chastity is fed & hydrated during her 'heat' there is rarely if ever any true aftercare, only reminding her he knows what her Omega self needs & truly wants, & that's to be reduced to her base Omega purpose in his (& all Alphas) mind: to serve his pleasure & produce babies regardless of any other existing facet of her life.
Why 5 stars?
Because it is superbly written & the writing & characters & situations DEEPLY impacted me emotionally. Something only an excellent book is able to do. I wanted to rail at Adam as well as find a way to have him experience some of what he dished out. But mostly I wanted to know despite everything that he actually did care for, about, Chastity for something other than her body & biological drive to submit & mate. And truthfully, Chastity finds herself desperately craving her Alpha, finds his dark humiliating desires & demands satisfy the gut wrenching agony of her body's needs.
I found this one surprising hard to read (emotionally) yet there comes a point where a small ray of light penetrates the intensity & let me know that perhaps Adam does have actual feelings for his Omega.
This one isn't the usual Omegaverse, these Alphas are harsh, sometimes cruel, taskmasters & owners of the helpless Omegas & the only limitation of their treatment of Omegas is not causing permanent harm. And that leaves a lot of wiggle room for the Alphas, which they take. And even the law turns a cold & blase eye to any claim brought forth by an Omega.
This story contains total & complete power exchange, total & complete domination & control of the heroine. Punishments, humiliation, SCORCHING scenes that sizzle & steam.
Yet make no mistake, it also contains superb writing with characters that engender anger, rage, empathy, sympathy as well as a plot that entangles, enthralls, mesmerizes the reader in this intensely emotional world.
I defy the reader to tear themselves from this one once they start.
I know I couldn't put this one down until the final word.
Dark.

Emotional.
Superb.

An omega verse entry from Trent Evans and he named her Chastity of all things. Ah well… this one is very high on the degradation. Honestly I wasn’t even sure the alpha had any feelings for her until the last few pages. If you like the shaming and that level of harshness this is up your alley. Not mine really so I’m rating this book more on the quality of the writing, which is good as usual.
The plot is very, um singular. There’s no real storyline, just a lot of heats and heat and scenes. Nothing wrong with that but if you are looking for more than that it’s not here. I do think the alpha took it too far in jeopardizing her career with his humiliation demands, oddly that was the most uncomfortable part for me.

Chastity is a high-powered corporate manager and as an omega she never wanted to be claimed by an alpha and then she went into heat. Adam is an alpha and when he catches Chastity’s sent nothing would stop him from claiming her. Fast-paced read with loads of drama, intense chemistry and sizzling scenes. The characters have lots of depth and it also has great world building. I loved it!

1 book I couldn’t finish
I normally can read just about anything, and I have read a number of these types of books. But this book is just degrading.

A riveting Alpha, Beta, Omega read, well written with great characters and plot
This was a very different style of sci fi book by Trent Evans and I have to say that I found it to be a captivating read that once I started, I was simply unable to put down until I reached the final page and discovered the outcome of all those characters involved.
Chastity Sinclair was a corporate manager that was in charge of a large group of men that varied in being either betas or the occasional alpha and on the whole, she enjoyed her job even though she found it quite challenging, pressured and extremely busy with very little time for herself until the unthinkable happened.
She suddenly started to experience an Omega heat that had come on her very violently and she had not really known what was happening, to have presented at such a late age was virtually unknown to her.
Unfortunately for her she on the way back from her doctors she crosses the path of an Alpha who instantly recognises exactly what she is and decides in that instant that she is going to be his Omega. This was a very different style of sci fi book by Trent Evans and I have to say that I found it to be a captivating read that once I started, I was simply unable to put down until I reached the final page and discovered the outcome of all those characters involved.
Chastity Sinclair was a corporate manager that was in charge of a large group of men that varied in being either betas or the occasional alpha and on the whole, she enjoyed her job even though she found it quite challenging, pressured and extremely busy with very little time for herself until the unthinkable happened.
She suddenly started to experience an Omega heat that had come on her very violently and she had not really known what was happening, to have presented at such a late age was virtually unknown to her.
Unfortunately for her she on the way back from her doctors she crosses the path of an Alpha who instantly recognises exactly what she is and decides in that instant that she is going to be his Omega. can’t get into it
Ok I want to start by saying that I usually like dark, gritty romances. I like Alphas and Omegas and the whole dichotomy. But I just can’t get behind this one. The books starts by saying Omegas are supposedly the only ones who can give birth meaning every single person’s mother is an omega but then they are treated like whores - umm no. No one treats their mom that way. The alpha literally doesn’t even tell her his name just grabs her off the street without care to who she is or if she has someone in her life like a partner or spouse and the book states that he cares for her but his actions don’t match which kept pulling me out of the story. I kept waiting for him to show some kind of care but the only thing he did was feed her but even that was while his cock was in her - she literally doesn’t know his name, he calls her slut and whore instead of her name, his internal dialogue is all about how she is going to do whatever he wants and he doesn’t care what she thinks or what she wants - oh but the book repeatedly states Alphas are all about protection and caring. I could totally get behind the book if they were upfront that alphas are assholes and take what they want. I’ve read some really dark and twisty stuff and loved it. But to say repeatedly that all alphas care about are protecting and caring and then insert his total disregard for her as anything but a fuck toy and I just can’t do it. That is not care and it is not protection. It is exploitation and sadistic selfishness. Only made it to 30% before I couldn’t do it anymore.

The male main character's/society's concept for what an A/O arrangement (not relationship) should look like is completely one-sided: his pleasure only; her thoughts/comfort/needs/personality don't matter. Lots of degrading name-calling and physical punishments. Plus, almost zero emotional connection -besides lust and possession- even by the conclusion.

Garbage
I found myself skimming through this book because it was so offensive I couldn't tolerate it. I'm not a prude, and I'm a big fan of BDSM, but this book is NOT that! It's a bunch of misogynistic garbage, a fantasy for the kinds of men who want to control and utterly subjugate women to the point that they literally have no control over a single thing in their lives. I'm all about safe, sane and consensual, and am not into dubious consent, which is what we have here because in this world, an omega's biology overrides what her mind wants and causes her body to literally make her incapable of saying no to something she doesn't want. In the case of this particular book, it takes a strong, independent woman who has a thriving career and robs of her of her freedom, choices, independence, basic dignity and the respect of her subordinates at work because her alpha forces her to wear degrading clothing that displays her breasts and just barely covers her butt at work. The tops aren't just low cut, either. They're all essentially see through and since she isn't allowed to wear underwear, EVERYTHING is on display! It's not bad enough he subjugated her at home; he has to discredit her authority at work too, and turn her into nothing more than a sex object on display in the workplace. It's thoroughly disgusting!

I got 110 pages in and I just couldn't put myself through it anymore, it was that horrible. If I could give it zero stars, I would.
In the content warnings they claim that it's dom/sub dynamics, and I don't particularly agree with that. This story was very heavily steeped with non-consensual acts, which they like to hide by saying that alphas are sexually sadistic and punish their omegas to obey them... which is icky enough as is, but then you have Chastity very clearly saying no and setting boundaries that are not only ignored completely but then she is basically sexually assaulted into submission. I don't mind a bit of dubious consent, but this was straight up non-consensual that they masked behind an omegas biological need for an alpha so "even though she's saying no, her body is responding so that's obviously a yes" disgusting mentality. Then they have Adam take advantage of her during her heat, and act as if Chastity is clearly asking for it. That's like the equivalent of giving someone a date r*pe drug and then saying that they didn't fight back so they wanted it. Absolutely disgusting.
I also have a very very big problem with the portrayal of alphas and omegas in this story. The alphas are shown as being leaders and sadistic, who love inflicting pain on their omegas. While the omegas are viewed as sex toys who need constant discipline. That's just gross. I don't mind dom/sub dynamic but there is a very big thing called consent that is completely absent from this. The omegas are basically pushed around and forced to follow what the Alpha wants even if they don't want to. The only time there is any mutual agreeance is through fear tactics and physical punishment. Ew.
Which brings me onto the absolute worst MMC I've ever read. Adam slaps her in the face, has intimacy with her when she says no, he ignores her when she's in pain (that he caused) because he admits that he likes hurting her, he calls her degrading names constantly, doesn't care about her personally only cares about what he can take from her sexually, and doesn't respect her to the point of even saying he doesn't care what she thinks or has to say. Absolutely vile, and not someone I can even remotely like.
Over all, horrible. This is basically just 200+ pages of the authors r*pe fantasy and it's disgusting.

The couple in this book is Chastity Sinclair and Adam Morgan. This is an Omega and Alpha romance novel. However, it does not include typical elements of this type or romance novels such as knotting or nesting.
In this book, Chastity is coming home from work when Adam catches her scent. There is not much of a plot in this book, so I consider it more of a novella. Adam has inexperience with an Omega and brings in another character to help him gather more information. However, that is the extent of a plot. Their relationship does develop. The book consists of 24 chapters with rotating points of views.
The "romance" scenes were steamy. It covers about 95% of the book, which is why there is lack of a plot between the characters. It was instant steam, no slow burn. I will never judge on the amount of romance scenes in a book, but more the quality of the scenes. The scenes became redundant including the dialogues between each scenes. In my opinion, reading Adam stating, "You are mine" can only go so far.
The ending of the book tied the book together and the character's conflicts were address. In my person opinion, this will be my last review done for this author for a while due to the type of writing produce that I am just not interested in reading.
With that being said, I give the book a 1 out of 5. There was no plot and the steam scenes were extra.

Wow. I read this book in one sitting, it was mesmerizing. The world seems to be like ours, but there is an Alpha/Beta/Omega element. Chastity has thought that she was a null or a Beta. She has a satisfying job where she is high up in the company. Then, the unthinkable happens; she goes into heat. While returning from the doctor, who confirms what Chastity already knows, she literally runs into Adam. Adam is an alpha and he has always wanted an Omega of his own. He grabs onto this opportunity with both hands.
If you have never read a Trent Evans book before, please be aware that his books are not for everyone. He writes about many BDSM themes that are extreme and make people uncomfortable, but also is very arousing. I squirm at the humiliation and the power exchange, but I still keep reading!
I highly recommend this book and I read this book through the KU program.

I really struggled with this one. While I'm familiar with the author’s work and was sort of prepared for what to expect, the harsh narrative didn't fit the trope in my opinion. There’s very little if any romance here, barring the rushed "I love you" in the last 1%. This is pretty much straight up humiliation and degradation bdsm erotica with little story or character development. I would've been ok with those elements if the author explored the emotional bond that is so integral to alpha/omega relationships. This just made me cringe and feel bad for Chastity and mad at Adam. I did finish, all the while hoping for something that clearly wasn't going to happen. As straight erotica this was solid, so the stars are for the smut.

Omegaverse, but no knotting or nesting. Just heats and hierarchy. Omegas really are chattel in this. Sadistic. Degradation. Humiliation. I would not say I ever felt romanced by the “rough alpha romance”. 🥴 erotic bdsm that’s nonstop. Would consider this dark. Lots of kinks. I love dark romance. I like the Alpha/Omega dynamic. But this book steaminess seemed senseless, gratuitous, brutal. The degradation was way to much, there was no dubious consent, it was ra*e simply. Not for me.

Scorching hot is just two words to describe this story. These two authors really have done an excellent job. This story will keep you glued to your ereader.
Chasity has come into her first heat, and on the way home Adam gets a wiff of her scent and takes her home . Taking care of her the way an Alpha does, however its not long before she is more than his omega. Floundering though his feelings he soon realises her loves her.
This really has to be worth much more than five stars.

Dirty filthy fun. I could not figure out if I was turned on, turned off, appalled, or just plain fascinated by the idea of what an omega was in that crazy universe. An object and not a person, a plaything with no rights or voice at the whim of an alpha who held their lives in the palm of their hand. Totally crazy.
