A wild, untamed place of forests, rivers, plains and mountains, and home to the Clans, people almost as wild as the place they dwell in, territorial, vibrant and fiercely loyal to their own.
Ri, Healer and Herbalist, likes a quiet life, a life without drama, without messy emotions - yet to her exasperation, she seems to be living in a world that revolves around just that. It's all anyone cares about, finding one's mate.
Well, that won't be her.
Ri has a secret. She has managed to suppress her scent, so her mate can never find her. She has other plans and they don't involve having her head and heart messed up by hormones and matehood.
The storyline in theory seems simple—Ri doesn’t want biology to make her life choices for her, so she finds a way to hide from her theoretical mate, even right under his/her nose. She is successful for YEARS and at the end of the planning stages to make all her dreams come true when a bear attack literally puts her theoretical mate in her care as the acting healer of Pendragon. Disaster of disasters, her theoretical mate isn’t just any person, either, he is THE Clan Son and sparks fly between them despite their “non-mate” status caused by her efforts. How can she effectively hide and escape to live her life her way not controlled by The Clan when she is thrown in the spot light by his very presence? The story proceeds from there. Simple, huh? Shockingly, the story is anything but simple between these two despite the “simple” premise. The level of detail and character development is intense and VERY in depth. This book is LONG, and I still found myself reading it in one sitting because I was so invested in Ri’s and Damian’s lives. Can they both get the HEA they deserve under the circumstances before them? It was an absolute joy reading to find out. There are some minor typos that are not unreasonable for a self-published book that in NO WAY take away from the story. Once you are immersed in this world, you will literally fly over them. There are also some stylistic differences as this author is not American, but personally, I forgot about those, too, once I knew that was the case. If you like big books that allow you to literally live the lives of the characters involved and enjoy a little angst, you will love this book. I’d say it is PG-13, so don’t expect a lot of smut, either, even if it is a Romance.
This is one of my favorite books strictly for the storyline. The writing is a bit rough and there are errors and inconsistencies in dialogue throughout; in spite of this I still love it!
I first read this story on Wattpad and when the author announced she was publishing it through Amazon I immediately bought it. I reread it every so often.
i remember reading this so long ago and absolutely tearing !! it up !!! little has changed since then ig. i love all the details about healing and the world building is so cute. explores relationships v nicely
This book was fantastic. The writing was great, the story telling was amazing. Yes, there were a few mistakes and clarity issues in a few spots, but all of them were minor. I honestly really enjoyed this story. Is there a part 2? I'm here e to buy it right now!
Discovered this beauty back when it was available on Wattpad. Love the style of writing and I could not put it down. My only negative is that they have not since written any other books.
Read this when it was on Wattpad. Loved it!! Years later I wanted to read it again and found out it was already published on Amazon. Bought it and enjoyed it all over.
I’m not one to write reviews on books but for this one I had to. I read this story back when it was on Wattpad and it absolutely changed my brain chemistry. The characters, the plot, the world was absolute perfection. I adored it. So when it got taken down I was really sad. For some reason I couldn’t find it on Amazon so I wasn’t able to reread it. Now, years later, I got my hands on the story again and I can confirm this isn’t one of those stories you read when you were younger and when you reread it as an adult, it absolutely sucks. I once spent 6 hours straight reading the story, you just get sucked into the plot so easily. This story was really important to me as a young adult and I really can’t thank the author enough for having written it. Thank you for sharing your work :)
