“Good. Good little Omega.” He says the words against her gland, almost sweetly, and Rey—Rey is going to die. A wonderful, delicious death. Depraved, all of this. Filthy. Beautiful.
Modern day AU in which Ben is an Alpha, Rey is an Omega, and they are way better at having sex than at communicating with each other.
I love love love fan fiction and I love love love Ali Hazelwood. This is a smutty fan fic that she wrote before her books. Omegaverse, Reylo, I don’t need to say anything more. It was amazing 😍 You could also 100% tell this was AH just by her writing style, which I love.
I read The Love Hypothesis last month and I knew that one of my favorite pods, Heaving Bosoms (the hosts are hilarious and it’s very fun, check it out!), did an episode on it, so I recently listened to it and found out some things I didn’t know. Like how Ali Hazelwood wrote fanfiction before she got discovered and that one of the guests on the ep, found her AO3 profile based on her Tumblr profile. Since I loved The Love Hypothesis so much, I decided to go looking for said profile and I found it pretty easily. I didn’t immediately read one of her fics because I was already reading something and then I got two of my highly anticipated releases for this year and I just didn’t have the time for it. She’s been in the back of my mind though, so as soon as I had a free spot, I looked at her Works and found Your Pretty Little Heart.
Full disclosure, I’m super new to fanfiction, I only started reading it this year and so far, I’ve just read stories where Draco and Hermione are the main couple. So obviously this was my first my Reylo fic and I enjoyed it. I’ve never particularly been a big Reylo shipper, I don’t hate the ship, I’ve just always been whatever about it. I do still feel the same about it after Your Pretty Little Heart, but I wouldn’t say no to reading more fanfics about this couple.
Anyways, so I should probably say more about the story itself. I had a good time reading it for the most part, though the lack of communication and the wait to get to the full claiming bit was a touch frustrating at times, but there was a lot of sweet, awkward, adorkableness going on that really pulled me in and made it easier to get over those little inconveniences. It was a fun, entertaining story that made me laugh and smile and while Reylo hasn’t even come close to replacing my Dramione obsession, I think I’ll check out some more Reylo fics in the future.
