5.0⭐️ EXUBERANT The ingenuity of the manner in which the author structured this story, and how she skillfully unveils its shrouded mysteries are quite impressive. The story is captivating from the start, and while I was reading and enjoying the book, my inquisitive mind constantly sought answers to questions that would be revealed only when the time was right.

Additionally, I couldn't help but become immersed in and impressed by the main characters, Ben and Dillyn. Their personalities and backstories are fully expounded on, their innate goodness shines brightly, and their sense of morality is unassailable. Moreover, the secondary characters, namely Ben’s siblings and Dillyn’s gal pals are absolutely fascinating, and the subplots engendered by them add yet another layer of substance, excitement, and intensity to the story.

In conclusion, I didn't include significant details about this book because to do so wouldn't have helped you; on the contrary, it would definitely be doing an enormous disservice to this phenomenal book. In my estimation, THIS IS A MUST READ!

Wow! Hooked from the first page and hated to see it end!

Both Benjamin and Dillyn had mind-blowing pasts. Ben's wife and Dillyn's husband were deeply disturbed and destructive. I am amazed that Ben and Dellyn are still sane. This story was a shocking roller coaster ride and scary as hell!

Nevertheless, I truly loved Dillyn's career as a Digital Forensics Investigator - super fascinating! Plus how she used her skills added quite a bit of suspense to the story.

Lots of twists and turns in this bad boy! I am adding it to my Great Read Again pile!!!

I hate cliffhangers

Just when the story is getting really really good and I've stayed up 'till the wee hours of the morn...BOOM... "the end!" The plot of the story was really good, unpeeling information a little at a time. There is just too much unresolved plot going on. With that said, I loved Ben and Dillyn's relationship. I also want to see what's going on with Cat and Palmer too. I have so many questions. Do Ben and Dillyn get their HEA, will Selah truly recover, was Frank's explosion tied in somehow, what does Wyatt do, why was Steven murdered, who is Syntax? Well, at least both Dillyn and Ben were open with each other and we know what happened to them in their past. I can not imagine what Ben went through surviving what his wife did.

Now come on LaShawn, don't keep us waiting too long. That is why I hate cliffhangers and don't usually read serials until all parts have been published. UGH!!!

A beautiful story about two broken souls, Ben and Dillyn, finding healing in each other from tragedy and betrayal and getting a second chance at love.

My only critique is that there are wayyy to many unanswered questions that left me feeling like the storyline is incomplete.

Wow I was not expecting the book to turn out like that. I was expecting a simple love story of girl moves to start over and finds love but there’s so much more to this story. Cat wait to read book 2

Dillyn is a beautiful successful business owner who is married to a selfish , arrogant, cheater who has almost destroyed her confidence. This book opens with a bang and just keeps getting better. On a chance getaway with her friends, she meets a cowboy and a gentleman who brings out something that she has no idea how to react to.
Ben was home in Tennessee with family, when a neighbor needs a favor. The favor causes his heart to yearn for a guest at the neighbor's home.
Dillyn and her friends return to Tennessee to begin an adventure that will change each of their lives. The new entrepreneurs of a vineyard are set to have a wild night in the small town of Summer. A feisty waitress has heard of them and is elated to meet them. This waitress has three over protective brothers who keep her away from anything that may take her aware from them.
On this night, two if the three are coming to pick her up. Low and behold, Dillyn's cowboy and Selah's brother find themselves drawn together as a moth to a flame.
This story has mystery, intrigue, murder, espionage, and hot sex. I loved this story from start to the end. I hope this author will make at least three books to answer some unanswered questions and give us more insight to Selah, Lucas, Wyatt, Cat and Palmer. Loved this book

Dillyn and Ben meet and have an instant connection, but they’re both married so they of course nothing happens and they go on about their lives. Fast forward two years, they’re both single and back in each other’s lives. While they both try to reason that neither is a ready for a relationship they can’t deny that instant connection.

I like both MCs, they both had such terrible things happen to them but we’re pushing through. Their friends and family were great additions as well. I felt like we spent a lot of time setting the stage for them to succumb to their feelings that when it happens as well as the mystery/suspense really kicks up, it all feels a little rushed and like we didn’t get all the details I wanted. I enjoyed the build up but I would’ve liked the second gals to be longer. Maybe that will come in future books in the series. I know there’s each brother and her friends but I’m not 100% ready to move the focus from these two. Dillyn’s second job alone was super interesting and I wanted more!

Captivating read!

The storyline and characters immediately intrigued me. The underlying mystery and danger kept me interested. However, there are still some missing pieces to the puzzle. I do not want to be a spoiler, but perhaps more will be revealed in the next book.

This started out so great, and I really had such a good time reading it. However…it felt like the book had some kind of split personality, for lack of a better explanation. The secondary storyline, although alluded to earlier really comes out of left field towards the end of the book and it feels SO choppy and frankly like a completely unrelated story.

Similarly, both MCs prior trauma is really extreme and used as plot devices (and thus not dealt with adequately), which I’m not a fan of. I also didn’t enjoy how these really significant aspects of their stories were a mystery for most of the book and didn’t find that this late revelation achieved anything. Even more annoying was the fact that we didn’t even get to learn things in real time as Dillyn was learning them (i.e. about Ben’s family) and there was just no good reason for that imo. The pacing and the way the story unfolded just…didn’t make sense to me, which is a shame cause I really enjoyed the writing and the characters.

I also found it strange how Dillyn’s sexual trauma was just breezed over in the smut scenes. I wish that was given more time on page, at least from an emotional perspective.

I did ultimately enjoy the book cause of the characters and writing, and I’ll definitely be reading the next one. But the spy story really just felt out of place and the book’s attempts at mystery just fell flat for me and I think the story could’ve been much more impactful had it been a little more straightforward.

Love, Pain & Secrets

Ben and Dillyn both are suffering from their past marriages…, so much pain and hurts. They are both afraid to commit to the next steps, but the chemistry between them is enough to burn down a whole laboratory. They met 2 years prior and they weren’t available emotionally or otherwise, since they were both married … but now the hurt, pain and secrets are too great to bear alone and too painful to share. They need each other to heal… see what happened when they finally find the courage.
Steven is the worse kind… can’t wait to find out what happened etc…
I love the Cash brothers and the Dillyn’s friends. Selah is such a sweetheart! 🥰🥲

This book was amazing! The best way to describe this book is by using the annalogy of peeling an onion layer. This book has so many layers to it. It covers a multitude of things. From trauma, abuse, mental health, and suicide. It's a love story with a mystery all rolled in one. It left you satisfied but wanting more! I can't wait to read more about these characters and get the answers to all the questions I have! So with that being said without giving the book away, read this book! You will not be disappointed! Congratulations, Mrs. Vasser on another well written book! 👏🏾

A suburban born and raised country girl at heart who is fairly new to the romance genre and in desperate need of an escape, I decided to seek out a few books about handsome cowboys and beautiful black heroines. This book is the second of two I’ve devoured in the past few days. And wow, what an emotional rollercoaster of a read! Definitely needed some time to decompress and process after reading this one. I completed it in about a day and a half. I should have taken more time with it given the subject matter but seriously, I could barely put this book down; A testament to how engaging and just plain good it was. I had taken a break from reading for a while. Unfortunately, I lost my passion for it over the past few years due to, well, issues. But I swear, this book along with “Earn Me” by Nia Arthurs, have reawakened that passion and I thank them for it.

“Wine, Whiskey, & Lipstick” is about a lady and gentleman who have had a rough time, to say the least. Two parallel lines running along each other unbeknownst to them, and destined to intersect at some point in their lives, they reconnect at a later time in life only to find that, although life and love can be complicated and painful, there is still beauty and joy to be found within those complexities and despite the pain. There was beautiful character development and a very realistic portrayal of human beings struggling with so many tough issues - life, love, secrecy, divorce, death, mental health, sex, sexual violence, grief and healing. I loved that the main characters, Dillyn and Ben, were flawed, something that increased their humanity and made them very real and relatable. They were written in such a way that you felt sad, but never sorry for them. Strength and vulnerability will do that and I’m glad both were displayed by the characters.

As a survivor of sexual violence and someone living with mental illness, I was grateful for how these issues were handled in the book - with compassion and unfolding in a pretty realistic manner. I just wasn’t expecting such heavy subject matter as sexual violence, human trafficking, or severe mental illness going into a contemporary western romance novel. So definitely a trigger warning for anyone who has dealt with or is dealing with these issues. Although the book was difficult to read at times, I’m still grateful for the experience.

This is my first time reading a book written by Ms. Vasser and I really hope she chooses to continue the series. I would love to see how the stories of all of the characters unfold. I was so in love with all of the characters in the book, which rarely happens. Even the damn horse, as one other reviewer mentioned. Ha!

What a fantastic start to an exciting series💕💕💕

My first book by this author and I loved it.  It was romantic, suspenseful, and playful😊.  A first in a series involving 3 hot and confident black ladies from the city that moved to a small town and attracted the hot sexy Cash brothers😍😍😍.

Ben and Dillyn’s chemistry are undeniable from their first meeting and with all the heartache they experienced they deserved a second chance to pursue each other romantically💞.  I loved what brought all 3 friends with different talents to the small town for a fresh new start😉.  Unfortunately, trouble shows up prompting Dillyn to use part of her hidden talent to go after the enemy.  The Cash brothers are protective men and since this mysterious danger hit the family, they are quick to step into action🙌🏽.  A lot is packed in this book and not everything is revealed such as Dillyn’s secret identity and who was behind the attack🧐.  I gather more of these details will be come to light in the next book.

This story had a bit of everything and kept my attention throughout it all.  I’m anxious to learn the truth about the enemy and excited to see what happens with the 2 Cash brothers and Dillyn’s friends hooking up🥵😘.

I couldn't put this book down! From the very beginning I was in love with Dillyn and felt what she was going through. I did not see what was coming for her or what Ben was dealing with but couldn't wait to find out! Cat and Palmer were true friends! I'm on to part II because I want the story to continue!

Well down LaShawn Vasser, I am definitely going through your catalog!

Dillyn and Ben attraction to one another was instant but both being married at time and Dillyn dealing with her demons. The book was described by the author as peeling layers off an onion. I always enjoy reading lashwan Vasser books am so looking forward to next read in this series I am sure Dillyn and Ben have more to discover about theirs lives before they met that needs the last onion layer of the onion to be peeled like what really lead to Ben wife last actions.

Book 2 please

Can't wait until book 2 comes out! The entire crew is giving me all of the vibes. Ben and Dillyan have endured some hard tragedies but still remained sane. I hope Dillyan tell her friends what truly happened to her as a child and what she truly do as employment, seeing as though this is hee family.

WWL

If a couple ever needed an HEA, it was Ben and Dillyn. It’s about letting go of the past looking forward at what is in front of you and finding that happiness again. The heartache these two experienced was heartbreaking, but their love was meant to be!

WWL was a wonderfully well written story by author LaShawn Vasser. The characters, storyline and storytelling was superb! Ben and Dillyn were two broken souls whose journey towards a second chance at love and happiness was paved with heart wrenching pain but was worth it all in the end. Their chemistry was hot and I loved the way they interacted with each other. Her sister friends and his brothers were the best and can’t wait to read their stories. Would highly recommend this story.
