Sion Zona thought he at least had a sense of security in Nordica…

…Until realization strikes that he is nothing more than a pawn in yet another game

He could’ve seen Tamuria playing this game. But Nordica? Sion spent the last year believing that Nordica was the Land of Elementals. A place where elementals could freely practice their ability on their own terms, unlike the perpetual restrictions Tamuria set.

Now that the truth’s out in the open, it’s clear the Nordicans were only using their elementals for their own, selfish gain.

Then again, not everything out there meets the eye. Was using elementals and Elemental Masters really Nordica’s ulterior motive? Or is someone or something more sinister pulling Nordica’s strings?

And if that’s the case, every single elemental in the World of Eidolon is in danger. War has ravaged the region. Death is everywhere. And now, Sion must deal with not just an external enemy, but numerous internal enemies.

Wind Keeper is Book III in the Elementals of Nordica Series and the conclusion to the Eidolon Trilogy. If you love global conspiracies, alternate worlds, sword and sorcery, plus a blend of old world epic fantasy fused into science fiction, look no further!

This was a wonderful ending to the trilogy. Plenty of magic and intrigue, if possible even better than the last two. Loved the characters and their interactions.

I received an advance reader copy of Wind Keeper for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

If you are familiar with T.C. Marti's Wind Wielder or Wind Master, you would expect that this, being the end of the trilogy, would be an action packed finale. You'd be correct, but you might also be surprised by how much heart Wind Keeper brings as well.

With all this heart, Wind Keeper is still the action story that the first two were, and as with the first two entries, it is packed full of brilliant action set pieces. Throughout the series, the author has not disappointed with the action, and once again, shows what a gift he has for it. Here, he ups the ante from the previous two books for a tale that is big, bloody, and brutal.

This comes with a great infusion of science fiction and fantasy elements in a world that gets stronger the more the author builds on it, and the result is a wonderfully realised setting.

It is the shortest book in the series, yet I got through this in comparatively less time. I can attribute this to the prose, which felt tighter than the first two. At its lean page count, it still packs a lot in, without any of it feeling underwritten.

While I didn't think the quieter moments in the first two books were as strong as the action, in Wind Keeper, these truly shine, and is where much of the book's heart comes through. Here, I felt for the characters, and the various plot points were paid off nicely. It is in this area particularly that I found this to be an improvement upon the first two books, and in all, the best book of the trilogy.

The political commentary the author touched upon in the first two books is stronger here, as well. By no means will this be mistaken for a political book, the worlds' politics and its similarities to ours are behind much of the plot. Throughout, the author provides some wry commentary about power and its abuse.

While Wind Keeper does not stand alone (if you are planning on reading it, please read Wind Wielder and Wind Master first), it is an excellent end to TC Marti's trilogy. So much so, that it's the best of the lot. Being the end of the first trilogy within the author's Elementals Universe, there is more of this world to come, and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

My full review will be available on my website, from 2 March. To read it, my reviews of Wind Wielder and Wind Master as well as everything else I've been reading, click here.

Summary

Wind Keeper: Elementals of Nordica is a speculative fiction by TC Marti, and the third and final book to the Eidolon Trilogy. The story revolves around the Chosen Nine, a group of elementals who want to change the world. In this book, the story continues as Sion realizes there is no security even in Nordica. He believed that Nordica was the Land of Elementals, a safe place where he and the Chosen Nine can freely practice their ability on their own terms, not like in Tamuria which restricted anyone from practicing magic. It turned out that the Nordicans were only using their elementals for their own selfish gain, and someone, or something more sinister could be pulling Nordica’s strings.

Review

The first and second book to this series were awesome, but this book is on another level! It's bigger, more complex, and more brutal. I love the character developments! Not only did their powers grow, each elemental also evolved deep within. The plot has also become more compelling as Sion and his group are not only facing their endless battle with the Tamurians, but also have to deal with the Nordicans.

I’m giving this book 5 out of 5 stars for its highly imaginative plot, great world building, and good character development. I’ve had not only an action-packed, but also a heartwarming experience in reading this book. I highly recommend it to readers who are into global conspiracies, alternate worlds, sword and sorcery. This fusion of science fiction and fantasy will not disappoint!

The Review

What a shocking and exhilarating final chapter in this particular series. The action and suspense that went into this narrative were so profoundly felt. The author once again did such a fantastic job of balancing the fantasy elements of the magic and powers the Nine had and how it impacted their character traits with the science-fiction of the futuristic and otherworldly settings along with the political and militaristic aspects of the narrative.

The rich character development and the impact the narrative has on this cast of characters is so expertly told. Getting to see how far these characters have evolved over time and how powerful they’ve grown both individually and as a group was amazing. The themes were so powerful here, getting to see how politics can muddy the waters of any powerful nation, as well as the dangers of being used as weapons and having your freedoms stripped from you in the face of a powerful force.

The Verdict

Mesmerizing, action-packed, and thought-provoking, author TC Marti’s “Wind Keeper” is a must-read genre mashup of fantasy and science fiction! The perfect way to end this particular series, the author does an amazing job of leaving a big enough cliffhanger that readers should expect a brand-new trilogy to follow up this one and continue this amazing story.

Wind Keeper is the third and final book in the Elementals of Nordica series. Wind Keeper like the first two books is filled with lots of magic. It has twists and turns on almost every page. I have truly enjoyed this journey through the world of the elementals. I have loved getting to know each and every character.

The world-building is exquisitely done making it come to life right on the page. I could see each and every scene playing out right before my eyes as if I was right there with Sion and all of the elementals. I could just see each character as they performed their magic.

Elemental Masters are trying their best to change the world for all elementals but always seemed to get knocked down by Tamuria and even Nordica. Sion was real surprised by Nordica. He thought they were on their side. Sion will keep fighting for the elementals until he makes things better for them or until he no longer can.

If you like magical worlds and sword & sorcery stories then you are going to love Wind Keeper. Grab your copy of Wind Keeper today! But I do recommend starting with Wind Wielder the first book in the series.

LOVE this series!

Ì can't say enough good about this series. Great discriptivness and character development in all this series. Each character will become dear to you as you read. The story makes you read as fast as possible so you don't leave a "friend " waiting. This series is clean and free of objectionable writing that could stop a teenager from enjoying. Truly know you will enjoy this series-- the only bad thing is having to wait for the next book-- 😆
