Graduate high school, then college, then become the world’s greatest sports journalist.
That is, until she is assigned an interview with Kane Bryson, Fankirth High’s swim team captain.
She has no room for dark, handsome boys with olympic sized ambitions, but his quick humor and shadowed past—so eerily similar to her own—have her second guessing everything.
Split is the prequel to Shatter, The perfect stroke series Book 1. This novella ends on a mild cliffhanger and DOES NOT HAVE A HEA. Darcy and Kane will have their HEA in Shatter. I promise.
Split was previously published within the Let's Play anthology.
If you are a fan of sports romances with all the feels them you are not going to want to miss Split by TL Hamilton . This is a prequel to TL Hamilton’s upcoming new series ( The perfect strokes ) And is the perfect introduction to what I already can tell is going to be a phenomenal series . We meet Darcy and Kane ,two characters that are not only very Likable but also so very intriguing. Kane is a jock and Darcy is a nerd two people who couldn’t be more opposite or at least that’s how it first appears. As for what happens next well your just going to have find out for yourself. When I first sat down to read this awesome prequel I was not quite sure what to expect as this was my first time reading this author but man was I pleasantly surprised. Two of my my all time favorite tropes high school / first love and sports entwined in a story that’s fun , sexy , angsty and sweet. I cannot wait to see what happens next
This book was great/heartbreaking! The characters were well written and the plot so far is well thought out. I really felt for the two main characters and the lives they led and wished they could have had longer together. However that being said i think there was definitely an overabundance of miscommunication and strife. It was hard for me to read this book though because when I got to the end I just wanted to read the rest. I can't wait for the rest of the story and chapter 1 just made it worse 😆 I can't wait to see how it concludes in Shatter!!
I'll be honest, this is a little different from what I normally read - I prefer paranormal to contemporary - but I enjoy TL Hamilton's writing and was happy to give it a chance. A good author can overcome genre barriers!
Split is a sweet short story about high school first love and sets up a further story later down the line. The characters are well written, and their actions are believable. I'm looking forward to the follow up!
This story was previously released in the Let's Play anthology and that is where I read this one. It is a lovely sportstory which always has my interest and it is perfect when you are only having a short trip in the train or having to wait somewhere. I love the jock and the nerd story and this one is really good in that. Not really interested in the guy with a huge ego but his charm might win her over.
This is a prequel to an upcoming book Shatter. Both of the characters have a path to what they want to do with their life. Chemistry gets in the way, the girl who thought the hot guy would never want her is shown otherwise. Having a significant other may make their course deviate. Can these young lovers stay the course or will love get in the way?
OH My gosh….with such a short story she draws you in and gives you all the feels. I know it was an anthology and there will be more but damn i need more…..I loved the jock and nerd romance…..and that temporary cliffy leaves me wanting to scream and cry
Split is one of the best high school sport romances I've read. Darcy's passion for sports is inspiring, just like Kane's determination. They fit together so well, but they're teenagers and teen things happen. This sets up Shatter so well, I'm very excited to see them all grown up.
This is a prequel to Shatter (which is book one of the perfect stroke series). This short story ends on a series cliffhanger but Conti yes in book one with a HEA. I love Darcy and Kane's story. This prequel is fabulous! Definitely a must read!
I previously read this as part of the Let's Play anthology and enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the story develops between them. It's a good short read, perfect if you're in a slump. Good intro to the characters.
If you love sports romance then this is the series for you. This book is a prequel to Shatter about a journalist and a bad boy gorgeous swimmer who seem to have nothing in common. Love the book and the cliffhanger to book one.
Darcy and Kane are two teens who shouldn't have fallen in love - but they did. Most things has consequences - some are life altering. I am so ready to read the full story. The tension is high, just like I love it. I recommend this book.
I loved the beginning of Darcy and Kane’s story! He fell first, and she didn’t even know. Then, of course, life happened. Will they find their HEA in the next book after the lovely little cliffhanger at the end? I hope so!
