The world of John Green’s kid-favorite InvestiGators series expands with the first volume of AGENTS OF S.U.I.T., a brand-new spinoff shining a light on some of Mango and Brash’s colorful coworkers.
Cilantro the Chameleon finally gets what she’s been waiting for: a field assignment. Only…it’s literally out in the middle of a field, and her orders are so vague, she can hardly tell what she’s supposed to be investigating. But as she begins to uncover a sheep-led worker’s rights revolt and an alien invasion conspiracy—not to mention a spooky haunting at the abandoned S.U.I.T. field outpost—Cilantro steps into her own V.E.S.T. as a valued member of the team. Joining this series is co-writer Chris Hastings and artist Pat Lewis, with John heavily involved in guiding the Agents along this standalone but complementary saga.

Both my sons and I are fans of this series so when I told them we received an ARC copy, they jumped up and down and hugged me to thank me! Then they stole my Ipad and wouldn't let give it back until they were done. I think we can say it was a success!
They say that: - it was a very really good book - it was great to see the other agent for once and the little cameo made them laugh! - they love that they always break the fourth wall - they enjoyed getting to see so many different animals instead of just Brash and Mango in this story and that the ending was shocking but really good. They can't wait to see what's next!
We'll get a physical copy to add to our shelves and I'm sure they'll reread it as much as they do with the previous books!
Did you miss Cilantro in the recent InvestiGators books? Wonder what she's up to now that she's a secret agent? You have come to the right place!
I will give nothing away (which is hard, and you need to read this book right now), but suffice it to say there's sheep, there's bad puns, there's a serious tale about being accepted, and there's a massive twist.
Love puns? Love graphic novels? Hate conspiracy theorist tubers on YooToob? Get this book.
Thanks to NetGalley for an advance reading copy, and thanks for John Patrick Green who is expanding his InvestiGator universe. (You're a cartooning hero!).
This book is amazing. I read it in one day because I could not put it down. A part that I liked was that the alligators from the InvestiGator books, Mango and Brash, popped up at the beginning and end of the book. I also liked that the main character who also works for S.U.I.T., Cilantro the Chameleon, has a entrance to the HQ of S.U.I.T. by a telephone booth. For getting to the jail he enters 5-2-4-5 which spells out J-A-I-L like in Harry Potter when you go into the Ministry of Magic you would also go into a telephone booth and press 6-2-4-4-2 which spells out M-A-G-I-C. This book is great and if you love the other InvestiGator books then you will love InvestiGators: Agents of S.U.I.T..

My daughter loved, absolutely loved all her InvestiGators books - she has read them all! This one was no different, she loved it. She was sooo happy, absolutely over the moon, when I gave her my tablet with the book open in it and told her I have a surprise for her. She laughed out loud, she giggled, and she smiled all while reading it. I am sure this book will bring so many fun moments to other kids also! When she was done with the book, I read it also. The drawings are super nice, the text is fun, this is just the perfect addition to the older investigator series. Loved it, I loved it also. At the end there are tutorials on how to draw characters from the book – that is a lovely and fun addition!
Cilantro wants to be a successful agent of S.U.I.T. but she has trouble with the rules and regulations. She's given the opportunity to demonstrate her ability in a field assignment, but she's not quite sure what she's supposed to be investigating. It's a silly adventure, but it's cute and fun, and full of fantastic word play and puns. I'd read more from this series.

Great story. My 8 year old had already read it and wanted to reread it with me. I haven't read any of the other books related to this series (I believe investigators came first?). But he loved it so much he wanted to read it with me to see how I liked it. It was pretty good!
I really liked this book and think kids will love it! The puns are great and the storyline is entertaining. Looking forward to more from John Patrick Green!
It is about time that Cilantro gets her own book and gets to be an agent of S.U.I.T. I really loved the message of this book. Finding your own way can be hard, especially when everyone thinks that things must be done one way. Cilantro is just such a fun character who really allows her strengths to shine and when S.U.I.T. tries to hide them, finds out that just because she does things differently doesn’t mean that it is wrong. I truly love the messages that this series brings to children, all while giving them fun situations that will keep them laughing and engaged. It doesn’t hurt that Mango and Brash do get to make a couple little cameo appearances in this book as well. I really hope that Cilantro continues to get her own adventures. I love reviewing these books they never disappoint. I have honestly started checking out the entire series from the library to get caught up. My 3-year-old even loves these books. Thank you so very much to First Second Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.
The first in a new spinoff from InvestiGators. Cilantro the Chameleon is assigned on a vague mission to the "sticks." There are reports of something there (her assigning officer is vague about everything). When she gets there, she discovers that crop circles keep randomly appearing and there are sightings of UFOs. She soon discovers it's just sheep, but then real aliens do show up!
I like the characters here, but the writing wasn't my favorite. I think it did get better as it went on, but the first 1/3 of the book was a little dull for me.
I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
For a comic book this is an amazing opening line. I will write this down in every notebook I own❤️ Even though I am well over age expected group for this comic I really enjoyed it. And so did my six year old daughter. Additional bonus is the step-by-step tutorial on how to draw the main character. Big thumbs up for this comic and I will recommend it. Thank you to @netgalley and the publisher for this free eARC.
I loved this graphic novel! There is so much fun word play for both kids and adult readers. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and I love the overarching message that being yourself is the best path to happiness and success.
Cilantro has finished her first case all by herself and put away a condiment thief, but she is having trouble balancing her natural talents and S.U.I.T. regulations (like wearing a V.E.S.T. that kind of defeats the purpose of going invisible). Her newest assignment is in the field with Monocle as support. They are in a cornfield where crop circles have been popping up lately. Can they figure out who is making the circles?
Shhh. Don’t tell Mango and Brash but I think I liked this spinoff better than any of the InvestiGators graphic novels. Some of the lines actually made me laugh out loud. Yes, there are still some groan-worthy puns too, and Mango and Brash appear several times, but Cilantro is in the spotlight. The plot was a good combination of mystery, scifi elements, self-actualization for Cilantro, and humor. And I really enjoyed the fun twist they did with crop circle mysteries. Hand this to InvestiGator fans as well as spy story/scifi/humor fans.
Notes on content [based on the ARC]: No language issues. No sexual content. There’s an alien invasion but they are just mind-controlling and not violent.
I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Despite a few struggles during her first field case, Cilantro captures a criminal and puts him in the doghouse. She's requested to help out on a secret mission from Division IV, so secret that Cilantro and her partner aren't even given a case file or any guidance. They arrive at a farm that used to have a S.U.I.T. outpost long ago and now just has an old robot, some crop circles, and a flock of sheep that are under strict sheep rules. Is it aliens or something else? I couldn't believe how many animals puns Green squeezed into this book. I enjoyed them. I can't remember if the InvestiGators had this many, or if this is a new thing. For fans of InvestiGators, Dog Man, Pup Detectives, Chicken Squad, Real Pigeons Fight Crime, and First Cat in Space Ate Pizza.
Did this as a read aloud with my 7 year old daughter. She and I both LOVED InvestiGators and we couldn’t wait to get our hands on the spin off, Agents of S.U.I.T. This was fantastic!! We enjoyed Cilantro’s story, we loved the cameos from Mango and Brash. The puns were punny and I enjoyed all the pop culture references that sometimes I explained to my kid and other times just chuckled to myself. We can’t wait for the next installment!
My students will LOVE this book 😂 it’s not really my type of book but it is an awesome book for elementary students who enjoy graphic novels but want to read longer chapter books. Very “punny” which I did enjoy!
My son thoroughly enjoyed this story and read it with ease. He just turned 8. He found the story interesting and stayed up late finishing it because he enjoyed it that much.
