The action and adventure continue in the fifth installment of the bestselling Wolf of Corwick Castle series!
Seven years have passed since Lord Hadrack of Corwick defeated the last of the nine and fulfilled his vow to his murdered family. Now a father of four, Hadrack’s life has settled into a routine of ruling over his immense lands and swapping lies and tall tales with his two best friends, Baine and Jebido. But, when riders arrive with a plea for help from an old friend, Hadrack finds himself drawn into a bloody war against a group of slavers called the Shadow Pirates and their leader, a monstrosity of a man known only as Captain Bear, who has sworn to kill the Wolf at all costs.
But, more is going on than even Hadrack suspects, as powerful forces inside the Empire of Cardia are also moving against him, with their eyes set on a bigger prize than he can possibly imagine. Hunted at every turn by both pirates and Cardians, Hadrack and the crew of his brand-new ship, Sea-Wolf, must somehow manage to survive against enormous odds, with failure not only death for all on board, but also for the one person who means far more to him than life itself.
Terry Cloutier, the bestselling author of the Wolf of Corwick Castle series, The First Emperor series, and The Past Lives Chronicles, is currently writing a stand-alone time travel novel called A Picture in Time, scheduled for release in fall 2025. Following that, he plans to begin work on the tenth book in the Wolf of Corwick series, titled The Wolf at Bay. Terry resides in Canada with his wife and their two dogs. You can contact Terry through Facebook or Goodreads; he'd love to hear from you.
Well, I'm not very happy with Mr Cloutier. The last book made the wolf look dead and the story done. I've been very invested in this character that I actually got a little sad. Well he's back and as mean as ever! Wonderful characters and creative plot make the book come alive. Action? Yeah, there's plenty of that. This is a series that could and should be read a few times. That's probably the greatest compliment a reader can give.
Hot Damn been looking forward to this for a long time. An u can't wait to read more about the Wolf. So keep writing my fiend. This story has all a read wants in fantasy world. In great detail form the eye of the story teller The Wolf of Corwick Castle. The description of the scenery from land or sea, down to the dirty fighting an sneaky around to the love that is shared. Oh hell of a great read so keep them coming an don't make me want to long!!! LOL.
Author delivers another exciting adventure for Hadrack, the Wolf. As with the previous four novels, the story is filled with bloody combat, heroics and subterfuge. The Nobel begins as Hadrack is summoned to the aid of an old friend whose kingdoms have been attacked by marauders who pillaged villages and overran the fortes up headquarters of the tribal king. The raiders carried off the queen , took many captives for the Slavers and set fire to the long house with the king and his children inside. When Hadrack arrives at the scene of devastating, he find his friend barely alive. But he begs from Hadrack a vow to rescue the queen. This the story of Hadtack’s journey seeking the formidable sea raider and slaver called The Bear , a mamas cunning, brutal and powerful as his namesake. Another absorbing, very entertaining book by Mr.Clothier. It can be read in itself , but you certainly will find the other books a great journey. Warning: Combat is vicious and bloody. Soldiers language can be, umm, earthy. Yes, though the book is a complete story, there is obviously more to learn of The Wolf ‘s adventures.
Another great read which unfortunately see's a couple of key characters killed off but leaves the door open to an epic retribution. This book was a while coming, while the author took time out to write something new. Coming back to this series when the book was released was like finding an old comfy jumper on a cold winter's night. It will have you turning the pages well into the night. For me a l but more banter/humour between the key characters would be welcome but as always a great story line.
A lot of tragedy took place in this chapter, but also a lot of heroics. Hadrack is considered to be lucky because he has managed to get himself out of numerous seemingly hopeless situations. Yet tragedy seems to be following close by. There are many well developed characters in this well-written saga, and look forward to the next chapter!
Please continue this story indefinitely. I was so sorry to finish this book. It incredibly written and intriguingly told. Thank you for the pleasure I experienced reading it!
Another great book to this awesome series. Hated that Lady Shana had to pass. We lost a lot of good people in this book. Get the books and leave your reviews.
Captivating, a real page turner that along with the other books in the series, you can’t wait to reach the outcome but are then disappointed to reach the end.
