Scary look into the future?

This is a book that is scary in light of what's going on right now in our world! Just being without power for a few hours is upsetting! A week or so because of a hurricane, tornado, floods or wildfire are things most of us watch on TV but few of us have experienced! I'm our enough to remember not having central heat or a bathroom but we always had electricity, radios, telephones and cars for as long as I can remember because I was born in 1940! Just think about how many skills you have? Could you survive? What would you do? Really makes you stop and think! What would you do?

Better to be the good guys

I'll admit I was not lo g into the story when it felt very familiar. Had I read it before? I read many apocalyptic novels. As I continued I really enjoyed delving into the characters. I was reminded of my dad, in the main character.... Humble, strong, knowledgeable, smart and brave! At that moment I couldn't wait to read more! So glad I did! Well written and interesting.

First was good, second wasn't

I enjoyed the first book. Its base premise made some sense. The action was good.
The second book would, I thought, tell the story from a different viewpoint. It didn't. It could have but dropped into a wholly unlikely scenario and a tiresome plot that I didn't like. I abandoned it.

A lot to ponder

This series tells the stories of a variety of people faced with EMP events and it makes one wonder if we need to be preparing for this in our own future. Losing all chip controlled electronics is a huge problem that puts us back into a more primitive lifestyle where food and shelter are scarce and people!e are forced to loot, siphon gas out of stalled vehicles and fight to protect their fami!ies. We have become so dependent on our cell phones, our computers, our electric grid, planes, trains, grocery stores and the conveniences that make life easy. What if this is taken away in an instant by one massive electrical magnetic pulse?

Loved reading these books , shows how much can be done if they work together. Love the suspense and action. Hope it never happens here but best try to be prepared.

No need for the F bomb

Good stories and good characters, it gets only 2 stars because every single character in each of three stories used the f bomb which is offensive to me, Will not be recommending this book for this reason,

really exciting stories

Also scary. I hope and pray an EMP strike never happens. So many people are so
unprepared for this kind of thing. So many people would parish. So many people now a days are so inconcosiderent when it comes to other people

Too much alike

I have now read several EMP books and these were so similar to others I have recently read that I had to check to see if I had already read these. I was hoping they would be different enough to keep me interested. They failed in that respect. There were also grammatical errors that I felt if you wanted people to read the books would not have been in the stories.

EOTWAWKI, A Bit of a long story. Lost interest towards the end. Have only read the first book so far, the books do not seem connected except they are in the same world situation. REad the second book and enjoyed it more than the first one.
