Nixon's Promise **I read this as part of the Gemini Group Boxset.

I knew going into this book that it would hold the suspense and chemistry that I have come to expect from this author. I was right in that assumption. However, I am not sure if it was because this book was setting the foundation for the rest of the series or what, but it lacked some of the oomph that I was coming to expect. I loved watching things fall into place with McKenna, Mandy, Zack, and Nixon. I liked watching them grow and heal. The other stuff that was happening in the background with this group didn't hold my attention. In some ways, that bums me out. In other ways, I'm glad because I didn't want to leave those moments that these characters shared together. I still enjoyed it. This is a great book for anyone that likes the style of Kristen Ashley because this author creates men just as Alpha/OTT and KA does, and the steam is just as HOT if not HOTTER.
Jameson's Salvation **I read this as part of the Gemini Group Boxset.
4.5 stars
This might be one of my favorites from this author. There was something special about the characters. I absolutely loved Kennedy. LOVED her. I loved that she wasn't afraid of hard work and that she did so many things because she wasn't afraid to work hard by being creative in how she survived. They were all things that I wished that I could do, well, except maybe the bees to make honey because I am allergic to those.
Her connection with Jamison was special. I loved how well-suited they were. They both were what each other needed to see in order to put themselves out there. I loved her history with Nixon and his dad and how they both shaped her to be the woman that she was. The climax of this scene hit me hard. Her words in those moments where she knew that McKenna and Jameson could hear them hit me in all the feelings.
My only real gripe with anything that this author writes is that there is no real epilogue. It is a HFN and picks right up in the next book. I understand why she does that, but it still leaves me wishing for more.
Looking forward to Weston and Silver's story next. I highly recommend this series and this author.
Weston's Treasure 4.7 stars
If I didn't love this author before, after reading this book I would have. I loved the way that the author depicted a leading character that self-sabotages. Not in an intentional way, but rather, as a way of defense. She knows it is wrong but she lashes out. I was able to connect with Silver in that way. Only, unlike Silver, I did not have the most beautiful of a man that had the patience of a Saint on my side. Weston is/was/forever will be one of my top book boyfriends. I love how he just laid things out for Silver and didn't let her fester. It wasn't controlling. It was just the firm hand of guidance and support that she needed so that she never had to be invisible again. He truly saw her.
This book had all the suspense that I have come to expect as well as the HOT steamy times intermixed. Strong secondary characters that I am counting on getting their stories told too.
Alec's Dream **I read this as part of the Gemini Group Boxset
4.5 stars
From the beginning, it was apparent that this book was moving at a different pace than other books by this author. Sure, it still had the OTT intense alpha man and strong woman needing protection in some manner or another. However, this story built on the relationship and connection first and then added the romance to it. I found that I really liked that. For Alec and Macy, I think, it was the best way to go for their story. I liked that the first thought was how to get Macy away from her ex. Granted in Macy's way of thinking she thought she would be doing it herself, whereas, Alec would be helping whether she was in agreement or not. I loved, loved, LOVED the kids in this book. They added so much to the story and strengthened the relationship that much more.
Were there a couple of areas that I wished had been expanded on? Yet, it didn't diminish how much I enjoyed myself watching these characters traverse that crazy little thing like love. Up to this point, the Triple Canopy series was my favorite from this author. I loved it so much that even though I knew that this series was not part of KU, I would be investing in it anyway. For that I am glad. This boxset was amazing. I then went on to purchase the last books in the series. I cannot recommend this series, these characters, and this author enough. With every book that I read it gets better and better.
Read as part of the box set. Fresh, interesting and suspenseful. Fabulous characters and a certain amount of heartache. For McKenna she is struggling to try and help her two younger siblings deal with their grief with little success. On top she is working both to earn money to keep them all and look after all the animals they have given a home to. Nix returns home to deal with the property his father left him, not sure what he wants to do now he is no longer a Seal, but there are people in town not happy he is back. A chance meeting, an unexpected visitor change all their lives. This had excitement, intrigue and action. There was a lot of emotional stuff as well, not just for McKenna and her siblings but also Nix, as he deals with being home and missing his dad, dealing with trouble and falling in love. It gripped and had a nice steady pace, the characters are well developed and each has their own issues including the team guys. I felt this is the start of a great series and am thankful I have the set so can carry on reading.
Wonderful believable characters, plenty of action and some suspense. Steady moving flow and interesting plot. Lots of emotional scenes and one that is definitely breath holding. Jameson falls hard and fast and they are well suited, I'm glad she gave him fiesty and determined as well as soft and sweet. Gripping and romantic with lots of bad guys as well as good.
Wow. Silver has had a rough and very unusual life, lonely and used as a weapon between her parents to hurt each other. She learnt to hold her pain, anger and frustration inside, lock it up tight. Despite travelling the world she has no friends and no life other than her job. It takes patience and a whole lot of love and understanding for Weston to win her trust as well as her love all the while trying to protect her from the bad guys. Emotional story with a lot of angst and pain. Suspense and a little action. Loved Weston and his steadfast determination to break through Silver's barriers and doing it a caring but blunt way. I loved her independence and determination to stand on her own feet and help with the case, but also that she backed down and took on board everything Weston explained, I'm glad when it came to the crunch she made the right decision. Intense but gripping and powerful story.
Scary, heartbreaking but also uplifting story. Out of pain angst and abuse comes support, friendship and love. What a rollercoaster of a read this one was, I honestly stopped breathing at times. Alex was absolutely wonderful, firm, blunt but so caring and understanding especially with the kids, he knew Macy was wary and scared of getting something good after all the bad and then losing it, so he was blunt in making sure he told her straight where he was at and what he wanted. I'm exhausted from the final dramatic scenes, poor Rory my heart heart broke for her, I wanted to wrap her up and never let her go. Powerful and full of dramatic scenes to give a person nightmares, thankfully all ends well so I can calm down and dive into book 5.
Nixon’s Promise – A story that proves coming home can be the start of a new life. Nixon and McKenna have loads of obstacles in the way but it is through honest and true love that they come together and balance the old with the new. I was hooked from the opening pages and cannot wait for more in the series. Jameson’s Salvation - Walking through life unhappy and with a frown on your face is exactly how Jameson has been living, that is until Kennedy comes into his life and with an instant connection and the right spark changes the grumpy man into one that has found his soulmate and puts a smile on his face. The pages turned quickly, and I fell in love right along with the characters. Mayhem and love are the plot holders and it was a joy to read. Weston’s Treasure –Things are not always the way they seems especially when Weston and Silver are at each other's throats every time they are near. But as they say there is a fine line between love and hate and once the tables are turned nothing is going to get in their way of finding their HEA together. Another wonderful read from Riley Edwards. Alec’s Dream – The last things Alec every saw coming was to find out he has a daughter. SO when the single dad falls for the director of the daycare Alec's life not only adds Macy into the fold but her two children as well. Filled with high action and the right about of love and mayhem this was a fabulous read. Love these characters and they are the perfect addition to the series.
Got this box set for a pound a great bargain for four books sadly there is 7 books in this series and the rest is not on unlimited or in a box set,we still got two of the team to find love and even Jonny not part of the team but is the local sheriff who calls on them for help plus a friend. I did question a few things in the writing why did they not check for cameras if someone breaks in and takes nothing you look for cameras? They are smart men after all trained navy. Also Alex's baby wasn't she 9 months when he was told of her, then she is three month? Not sure if I'm wrong it was not very clearly delivered. I liked the team and wants to see the last three find love.
Great way to be sure you have all the books you need for a long trip- go boxset! From nix to holden ( and honestly jonny too) this series is amazing- only the first 4 are in this box but you can pick up the next 3 easy enough- its a good primer for the takeback series ( its loosely mentioned a time or 2) and once your in takeback they call back to these guys sometimes too... great series- worth the read- hate that box sets count as 1 in the system but i get it
I was extremely disappointed in this box set.I have read most of this authors books and have rated all of them five stars. this box set was an extreme letdown for me and found myself only really enjoying one of the four books. I completely skipped over Weston’s book and only read every few pages to get the gist of storyline. I plan on sticking with the series with the hopes that the books get better.
I enjoyed the 4 books in this series. I'm not even sure which book was my favorite because I really liked all of them. I liked the character development, the storylines, and how the characters interacted with each other. I'm excited to read the next box set in this series. I read the books on Kindle and listened on Audible and I absolutely The voice actors definitely brought the characters to life. Very fun series.
Oh my word! I was on the hunt for something different and that is what I found with Riley's books. To say I am in love with this series and all her other works is an understatement.
I have binged on each and everyone of her books and love each and everyone.
Hot, steamy, sexy, sizzling with hot alpha males. I am in heaven.
All 4 books were great reads couldn’t put them down. The guys and ladies are strong characters all with different personalities and secrets. Alpha hot males always protecting their women and having each other’s back’s. Now I’m going to continue on with books 5 to 7.
This is a fantastic series! I love boxsets for binge reading. I highly enjoyed getting to know this group of BA men & women! Each story has an interesting suspense element, or several, and the overall story of building a family as each couple gets their HEA is excellent throughout each story.
The stories were well written and held my attention. The obscene language was a turn off. Some of the words should never be said out loud an I was disappinted to see them in print. I am broad minded but this went too far and little significance to the story. Too bad because the author has a lot to offer
So so loved this book. The whole family. Riley did such a great job of letting us “know” each of the characters in the story. Alec and Macy were great as were each of the kids.
Wow, this was intense. A lot of alpha-ness in one sitting with plot twists I never saw coming. Had to take my time with this to absorb it all but worth it. Definitely will complete this series so the guys just pull you in.
Great from book one to book four. I couldn't put it down. I love these characters. I love the great apps males and the strong women. This was exciting, romantic, and horrific. But love and family always wins.
This is a collection of Romantic Suspense books, and this is first through fourth books in the Gemini Group series. I really loved the characters in this series, and I loved getting to know them. I loved the action, suspense, steamy romance, and the cute parts. This was a great read.
I really enjoyed all the stories but I was so confused on why the author did the male lead in third person and the female lead in first person. It threw off the rhythm of the book.
Absolutely loved all four stories four alpha men, protective and just easy to fall in love with, four women who were strong and knew their worth, now on to book 5!
