In a world where every detail is forged in lies and deceit, how do I know what’s real?
I signed a contract: One season on a reality show for loads of money. No more living paycheck to paycheck, financial freedom was finally mine. I would join the world of the elite, rub shoulders with the wealthy.
Old money and secret societies are what rule the world. Everything is at their fingertips but even their secrets have secrets. And somehow I got wrapped in their web of lies, left standing in the ruins of their action.
Everything I’ve ever known is fabricated. Except maybe him. I looked to him for salvation but he broke me more than anything else ever could.
It started with a contract. Now all I want is to make it out with my heart still intact.
M.T. Morgan lives in Texas with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading a good fantasy/PNR romance as well as a good cup of coffee. She has old lady tendencies even though she's in her mid-twenties. And writing her own bio is very cringe worthy to her.
M.T. Morgan tends to bounce around the romance genre. She may make you laugh, cry and cringe. It just depends on her mood.
Wow! What a story! Dear readers, keep an eye on this author, because she walked into the bookish world with a bang!
Rayne is a contestant on a reality show. She's here because she needs that money. The money will go a long way to help her stability in life. Unfortunately, the other contestants are the elite. Some of them are spoiled to the core, and the things they do for views... She just has to stay focused and follow the rules, which is going well until Branson starts getting under her skin. He's bossy, cocky and so sure of himself. And yet, he's also always on Raynes' mind.
Now, can you imagine all the drama, angst, love, hatred, and so much more unfolding up to here? It's a child's play comparing to how the author spinned the other half of the story. I won't be saying a lot about it, I do feel that you need to step into this blindly. (I will only say that I consider myself being 'awake'. If you don't know what I'm trying to say here, then you are not. And if you do know, I just gave you some clues.)
Fabricated had me hooked from beginning to end. This is a dark read, so be prepared. I loved it!
Overall Opinion : This one had me so hooked!! M. T. Morgan just entered the book world with a bang and now I am anticipating much more from her.
Filled with angst, hate, love, suspense, second chances and so much steam, this book was a wonder for me. Fabricated had so many of my favorite tropes that I read this one in a single go. It was a good read for me. The story of a thrilling competition and in between that our protagonists find love and so much more. But things are not always easy, with other participants willing to go to crazy heights to get what they want, this might just turn into a game of survival.
Definitely recommending this book to all the dark/contemporary romance loving people out there.
5 stars! Holy crap what a good story!!!! I couldn't put it down with so many twists and turns ! Rayne and branson ughhh love there dynamic and relationship!!!!! 10/10 for me
This is a new author to me and she did not disappoint! I absolutely love the story that she has created. It has everything you want in a dark romance and more. I loved the idea of them being on a reality show! I have never read anything like it and boy was it refreshing! This book was filled with steam, intense rollercoaster moments that had me turning pages so fast to find out more.
Branson oh Branson! I am obsessed with him. Toxic , dark , sexy and the absolute perfect counterpart for Rayne. I loved Rayne’s character the most. Her past was by no means easy but her strength is what caught my attention the most. I loved the journey these two had.
A 5 mind blowing stars from me. I can’t wait for more from this author!
“Expectations were like people. They always let you down. That’s why I don’t fuck with either.”
I went in Blind for me it was the title that first captured my attention. Then I got the cover reveal and was like ok this looks good (I’m a sucker for covers).
I did not know this was M.T Morgan first book and omg!! I absolutely devoured this book in one whole sitting, well I took breaks but I still each time I put it down I couldn’t wait to pick it back up.
I like dark twisted stories with spice. Talk about a group of rich prissy kids on a TV show . The Children of Nobility are used to the spotlight they grow up in it, while Rayne has a completely different vibe. She was an outsider but she was also strong. Rayne was more of a bookworm and loved reading, but she also did what she had to do to survive. Along the way things get a little twisted.
This book had me turning pages and had me so captivated. There is so so much I want to say but this book is one you definitely should pick up and read.
In this book you will find Secret society, drama, betrayal, reality tv, angst, enemies to lovers vibe, and spicy this book literally had a lot of my favorites! I highly recommend this especially if your looking for something different from your normal.
Quotes:
“Everyone has secrets. The question is, do you want them to know yours?”
“I believe everyone faces their own demons. Some just get easier ones.”
“Pulling out my book, I sit down, take a deep breath, and for the first time in a while, I read. Getting lost in someone else's bullshit that is not my own.”
Mind-blowing, gripping and euphoric. Fabricated is a thrilling and engrossing read that will leave you desperately flipping through the pages.
This is M.T. Morgan debut novel and wow what a debut I was glued to my kindle I finished it all in one- setting the chemistry between Rayne and Branson was Electrifying, toxic and raw I couldn’t get enough of the dynamic between them it was everything..
This book will blow your mind I can’t wait for more from M. T. Morgan I’m hooked on her writing..
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
I signed a contract: One season on a reality show for leads of money.. No more living paycheck to paycheck, financial freedom was finally mine. I would join the world of the elite, rub shoulder with the wealthy. Old money and secret societies are what rule the world. Everything is at their fingertips but even their secrets have secrets. And somehow I got wrapped in their web of lies, left standing in the ruins of their action. Everything I've ever know is fabricated. Except maybe him. I looked to him for salvation but he broke me more than anything else ever could. It started with a contract. Now all I want is to make it out with my heart still intact.
This is the story of Rayne who is a girl who needs money. She is struggling and she is tired of living paycheck to paycheck so when a reality show offer comes her way she is ready to jump all over that. The money she makes will set her up to be able to do a lot of things and not have to worry about money. She never expected though when she signed up for this show that all the other contestants would be elite. These are some of the most spoiled rich kids there are and they don't know what it is like to have nothing. They will also do anything to get views and to their very core are just spoiled rotten and sometimes big ole brats. I know that makes not a bit of sense to just read and know what I am talking about. But when you read this book you will totally understand what I just referred to and why I said it. Rayne just has to stay focused, follow all the rules and make all her dreams come true. That is all she has to do and that plan goes right out the window when the most bossy, cocky, and very sure of himself Branson starts getting under her skin. However no matter all the negative things she thinks about him she just can't get him out of her head. How will it all go in front of the entire world and will Rayne get her money or lose everything? You have to read and find out but I will say that you are going to love this book. I know that I did. The characters are amazing. There is a lot of drama, some angst, love, hate, and a lot going on that you will not be able to lay this book down. I loved the concept of the reality show in a romance book. It was something totally different for me and I loved that fact. Also, unless I looked wrong and trust me I searched for back books by M.T. Morgan, this is her first published book and she totally blew me away with this dark romance. This is a book that you do not want to miss and an author that your going to fall in love with and need so many more words from for sure.
My mind is BLOWN! This books is such a phenomenal read! MT Morgan slayed it with their debuts book!
Fabricated is a new adult, dark romance standalone that will have you going on a wild rollercoaster! This book was definitely a book I don’t know I needed in my life! It is fast paced and has so much detail in it that you really question every little thing. This relationship between Branson and Rayne is something so intense and raw. It looks toxic but is a couple you root for to win in the end. Oh and the steam!! 🔥🔥🔥 hands down so steamy!!
Rayne is such a strong character. Just when you think she is gonna be one way because of her difficult life growing up, she really surprises you and shows there is so much more to her. Branson….oh where do I start with him. Branson is top of the line broody! For sure he is the broody alpha male who finds his weakness. I absolutely love his character. I love the character growth for both of them through out the story. They really opened up with each other and it was nice to read. I also really loved the other characters on this book! Tucker and Emerald are so cute and sweet. Plus I enjoyed Raiden! I think they were great friend for Branson and Rayne.
I enjoyed this book so much! I felt it was different than any book I read before which felt great to me. I really love how raw it was. There were so many great quotes I got to highlight. Just such a wonderful read that I think everyone should definitely read this book!
Y'all, you might not think this is a dark romance when you start reading it but you best believe that it does live up to it's trope! There are secrets and oh so much angsty moments that will blow your mind and make your jaw drop. This is a dirty world and Rayne was thrown right into the middle of it, without even realizing just how much. I also just found out that this is the author's debut novel, freaking bravo for that because I definitely could not tell from reading it!
All in all this book might seem lighthearted in the beginning, but there are so many things happening in the background and you will be shocked when you learn it all- which is definitely one of my favorite kinds of books to read! It is an interesting premise and I was sucked in from the beginning. I definitely enjoyed it and the only reason it is not 5 stars is that it seemed to move at a leisurely pace, but then when things are revealed it moved extremely fast and made my mind spin. I totally get it and see why this happened, I would have just liked it to be even paced! I give it 4.5 outta 5 stars and will definitely be looking into future books by this author!
PS: Thank you to MT Morgan and Social Butterfly PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!
This is my first time reading from this author. I was really excited when I read the blurb. This book started off strong and I was really enjoying it. I connected with the heroine (Rayne) and I was loving the whole 'reality TV' type thing going. But then I had quite a few jarring moments that just brought me out of the book. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, it was just something that I know (personally) I don't like when it happens. I want to be all-in and totally immersed in the world that I'm reading about. So when something comes up in the book that takes me out, I don't care for those moments. The plot twisty thing came along and it was good but then the end of it seemed a bit rushed and I just had a lot of questions when it came to the conclusion.
Things I did really like: Rayne has a very healthy, platonic, friendship with a male character. I really enjoy seeing this in books because I don't see it enough in or when it does show up in books they always end up having non-platonic feelings for the best friend.
Overall opinion is this book was good. It may be something I come back to and read again but it may not. I will want to read more from this author just to see if those moments were in this book and not something that regularly occurs for me with her writing style. So stay tuned for that because I definitely want to read more M.T. Morgan.
All I can say is OMG !!! I cannot Believe that this is M.T Morgan’s Debut novel . I was honestly not sure what to expect when I first sat down and started reading . I went in with a completely open mind and let me just say I was not prepared for all the emotions I was going to feel. Rayne is a contestant on a reality show . The main reason she there is because she needs the money to support herself . Unfortunately she does not expect to be surrounded by the Elite , contestants who are not only spoiled but rich as well , and not always the easiest to get along with . What she doesn’t expect is Branson or the feelings that start to develop between them as he slowly works his way under her skin . She Bossy , Cocky , and very self . assured. Drama , Angst ,love , hatred , heartbreak, humor , darkness , witty banter ,off the charts chemistry, and so much more . Get ready to be taken on the ride of your life . Unforgettable and unputdownable
Not everything is at it seems with The Children of Nobility…
Everyone knows they are the rich, spoiled, entitled spawns of the elite. Everyone wants to either copy them, be them, or f*ck them.
Then entire Rayne Marshall—a penniless nobody—who joins the rich and famous as part of a reality TV deal and disrupts their dynamic.
And here she meets sexy, brooding, bad boy Branson Lexington.
She shouldn’t be drawn to him, but she is.
He shouldn’t want her, but he does.
Throw in a pinch of enemies to lovers goodness, a sprinkle of laugh-out-loud banter, a healthy dose of darkness, and the mother of all plot twists… and you get Fabricated. I was hooked from the start.
I cannot wait to see what M.T. Morgan releases next!
Tropes: enemy to lover, fake dating, secret society, reality tv romance, poor girl and rich guy, dark romance
Review: This book takes a twist on enemies to lover and “reality TV” romance tropes. Rayne is an “orphan” from the wrong side of the tracks who enters a contest to be featured on a reality tv show called, “The Edge of Nobility”. She realizes right away that she does not fit in with many of the contestants and discovers that the upper echelon have dark secrets that are best kept hidden.
Branson is the show bad boy and enters the books as a playboy who rarely does anything but glare. While he is portrayed as grumpy and dark at first, we soon read how much he is interested in Rayne despite all the secrets he has. We also get some chapters from his POV that shed light on the darker plots in this book. Branson was my favorite character in the book because I felt like he was more complex and the few times we read from his POV he had exponential growth.
The main arc in this book is the secret society of the Nobility. We see the inner workings of the upper echelon elite and are exposed to this world’s dark underground. The development of the couple and supporting characters was what pulled me into this book. M.T. Morgan did a phenomenal job with setting the stage and then revealing secrets and twists at the perfect moment.
The couple in this book was not clean cut which I enjoyed and not of them were vocal about what they needed to do to improve themselves. I really loved how Branson took it upon himself to grovel when he messed up and how he was Rayne’s number 1 supporter THE WHOLE TIME. My only upset was not having more about the secret society and involvement since we do not read much until the end of the book on it. Other than that this book is a great shorter read and is very well developed for dark romance readers!
Rating: 5/5! Even though this was a quick read, it is perfect for secret society and dark romance readers!
I’ve said this many times and I’ll say it again. This app needs to have decimal stars! It’s not fair to the book. A three star book isn’t the same as a 3.5 or a 3.75 star book. That’s what this is. A 3.75 star book. It was great. The story was good. About an underground cult which I never saw coming. The story starts of pretty basic. An orphaned woman makes it onto a reality show about rich privileged kids. She’s the loser girl in the show that quickly becomes the heroine. Then the story takes a weird twist. Nothing is as it seems. They were all actors yes but not in a reality show. This was in her life. So effed up! It was cool that they staged it all. It was staged from the moment she was born! The one thing that made the rating go down .25 stars was at the beginning of the book there is a warning about trigger and the book being super dark. Um I’m sorry this was zero dark. Like zero. Yes there were a couple of cringy scenes but not dark. I started to question myself if I have read too many dark stories that I’m immune now? Anyways this book is in no way dark. It’s twisty but not dark.
This book is INSANE and a MUST READ. I am going to try not to spoil to much but I will say...get ready for the dark twists...no spoilers. The book definitely lives up to the book title. I love it when a title links with the story beautifully.
Rayne is a strong heroine especially with a the darkness she been thought. However she had a her nest friend Jordan and we her encouragement she signed up for "The Children Of Nobility"
Briggs is the BAD alpha hero however he does have a heart which we do learn. AND he has some dark secrets to share and one of them does lead to a very good result...no spoilers
"The Children of Nobility" is a reality TV show and I love that we see all side the set up, drama they create and the fans. With each chapter we get a quote from Briggs and Rayne like they are posting it online and LOVED each one. Some a very motivating or just make you smile:
"Do you know why the bad guy everyone's favourite? Yeah, me neither, you twisted fucks." @ BransonLexington
This book has suspense, action, witty, dark pasts and a tense love story that can not be broken
It was so refreshing to be in the minds of characters written purely to captivate you.
Blogger turn author M.T. Morgan has set the bar very high with her very first release. I can’t wait to see what follows.
Branson is toxic for my ego, you want to pound his beautiful face repeatedly and then kiss it better, Morgan definitely expressed her love for Alphaholes while creating him.
Rayne is most definitely my woman crush Wednesday. I enjoyed her emotional roller coaster the most. Morgan’s story took her female MC from struggling and traumatic events to a romantic and steamy environment with Mr. Branson Lexington only to flip her world upside down again.
All events tied up to a very unexpected and eventful ending, displaying both lead characters in a more refined version than what you meet at the beginning of the the book.
I completely enjoyed getting lost in this world.
Morgan’s next release comes in June and I’m itching to get my hands on it.
I am amazed that this is a debut from this author as she has done a remarkable job in weaving this storyline. Rayne is a contestant on a reality show which will gain her the financial security that she seeks, and she is determined to stay focused and follow the ruler, unlike the other contestants who are wealthy and elite. Brandon is broody, bossy, and cocky, and he and Rayne are drawn to each other, and their chemistry is combustible and undeniable, and they complement each other perfectly. This is a well written fast paced story, which is dark, raw, gritty, intense, and twisted, with secrets, drama, angst, emotions, betrayal, romance, hatred, humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to a riveting and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this author and I highly recommend this story.
I’ve read quite a few bully romances….This storyline was like none I’ve ever seen! I’m going to try not to spoil it with my review. My only complaint was it was hard to keep up with all the characters, but I think that was more because of the fact you’re introduced to them all at once in the first chapter. Other than that, I had no complaints. I had a tough time figuring out where the author was going. I found myself going back to see if I found any hints or clues from previous chapters I had read and found nothing. Don’t get me wrong, it all tied together beautifully, but there really wasn’t a way to find the outcome before you got to the back of the book. Great first book (I’m guessing first book, since there’s only one on her page.) I will definitely be looking for more!
Oh my! This was such a roller coaster ride of a red for me. Just when you think you know what is happening in the book something happens that throws you off. I could not have read this book any faster than I did. I didn’t even realize i had devoured this story I til i saw that i was on the last page and the end was there. This story has drama unfolding that you won’t want to miss. Yet we get a live story with a big of angst thrown in. Rayne and branson will captivate you and once you stray this book it will be hard for you to put it down. Highly recommend.
A reality show is a fabrication of the truth; Rae is a contestant among the rich elite. She doesn't fit in because she is a poor orphan who needs money and the others are spoiled rich to the core. She's here because she needs that money. She just can't get sidetracked by Branson.
This story is full of drama, angst, love, and hate too. If you think you have any idea how this story will play out you'll be very surprised to discover all the twists and turns.
I was hooked from the beginning and enjoyed this dark read.
I wanted to love this. I really enjoy MT Morgan’s writing but this just fell short for me.
The premise was so good, a reality show! I don’t know if I was expecting love island vibes but I didn’t enjoy it. It’s short enough that it didn’t drag. I didn’t like the main couple, I was more invested in Tucker and Emerald who were more likeable than Rayne and Branson.
Branson was shagging people left, right and Center and Rayne wasn’t bothered and then when he showed her attention she fawned over it! I was like girl what are you doing? The rapid change from the first half to the second half was crazy. We went from one extreme to the other. Going from a reality show romance to a family cult with blood sacrifices. I feel so much more could have been done.
Do not read. This book was fascinating in the sense that I didn’t want to put it down but I didn’t wanna keep reading it. It says that it gets dark and I think that it does get dark and hovers over lines that I think might be crossing for me. Definitely found my hard no’s in child sex rings, incest, secret societies
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
There's a idea here for a book. One that could be a good story, I just don't feel like it was complete or well executed. So many holes in the story. So many things readers are just to take as a natural progression. It wasn't. I finished feeling conflicted and confused as to the point of the whole story.
This book was so good! A lot of twist and I couldn’t put it it down. Branson is soooooooo sexy🔥🔥🔥🔥couldn’t get enough of him! And she’s just a badassss who I loved . This book was soooooooo good!!
This book held me captivated as I read the twists and turns not knowing what the author was going to throw at me next. I think MT Morgan has just jumped up to my number one must read author. I am off to devour her other books.
I thought it was good, but I feel like the whole secret society/cult aspect was underutilized, as was some of the hero's reasoning for doing the things he did. This book may have been better as part of a series to fully flesh out that universe.
As soon as i found out about this book i couldn't wait to pick it up! I started reading it as soon as i could and was pulled in. I so enjoyed it!
Rayne and Branson's journey grabbed my attention from the get go! Right from the first moment their paths cross, i couldn't wait to see how things would play out.
With Fabricated, Ms.Morgan has created such a good and dark debut! I can't wait for more from her!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Social Butterfly PR / the author*
