I am a creative professional and communications strategist supporting NASA human spaceflight at the agency’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. and based in Golden, Colorado.
When not telling the story of human exploration in space, I write about adventures on Earth—with articles and photographs appearing in The Travel Channel, blogs for The National Geographic Society, Thrillist, The Huffington Post, and The Lonely Planet.
In 2016, I took on “the Greatest American Road Trip,” exploring and documenting 59 of the U.S. National Parks over 52 weeks.
I have written multiple books on the subject of national parks. My newest next book, 'The National Park Journal', is available from your favorite booksellers here!
A quick snapshot of what are the most important things to see in the most popular/most visited national parks. If you want a more in-depth exploration of the parks, this book is not for you. Most of the parks are just given a 2-page spread with some of the more popular getting 4 pages. This is the kind of book for the person who says, "I'm going to be in Yellowstone for one day, what do I absolutely have to see." If that's what you're looking for, this may be a helpful book for you. There are no photographs, which is unfortunate.
I found this in my local library, and I was pleased at this resource! Not only was it super helpful and up-to-date in terms of reliable information, but I loved how it contained information about additional National Parks across the US! I used it to plan my next bucket-list trips!!!
How do you rate a travel book so poorly? Well, I wanted photos. There are no photos to reference anything they suggest visiting. And then the information given was so minimal. Simple might work for others, but didn’t for me.
