Who Would Think Paying For A Date Would Turn Into Something.....Nico & Bee were set up by a mutual friend in exchange for a little cash to help with Bee's struggling online business....The couple successfully attend Nico's firm holiday party and the next day head to his family's annual Thanksgiving Dinner.....It turns out to be something more between the two...instant chemistry!
Review for the 3 novellas in this series. Christina C. Jones story was the best in the series. She’s one of my favorite authors so that’s exactly what I expected.
I really enjoyed this and it was a great way to end this thanksgiving novella series. Highly recommend for a quick, steamy and fun time!
The final book of the Fiennes cousins series. Like the other two, I enjoyed this one. Short and straight to the point. What started off as fake dating between Nico & Bee blossomed into something more. Happy that all of the Fiennes cousins got their happy ending.
Okay but why did I like this story better! I had to finish reading about the Fiennes Family. It was a cute story. Strangers to lovers…Nico’s mom being the woman his “fake” date Bee met years ago and sold her sewing equipment to…a connection they didn’t even know existed. I enjoyed it.
We can always count on Ms. Jones to give us a little plot twist even in a short. Nico, a junior partner at a law firm, was going through a rough patch in the way of relationships. Trying to navigate his path forward he needed someone to hold court with him at his business events. However, right now a relationship was not in the cards. Bee, a thrifter/seamstress of sorts, who was doing a favor for a friend ended upset being just the woman he needed. What was meant to just be a night of fun ended up being....more. Their chemistry was clear and she seemed to put Nico at ease. The sweet little back story added an unexpected sweet touch to their new found situation.
I enjoyed the series and would read more about all of them bruhzins.
Cute novella with the fake relationship trope that ends with Thanksgiving dinner! Bee had a real knack at getting Nico out of his shell. This easily could have been developed into a longer story—I wanted more details about Bee’s sewing business and Nico’s family. A lot of stuff got glossed over but I did appreciate It ends on an HFN.
Characters: Bee is a Black vintage clothing designer. Nico is a Black lawyer.
Content notes: past death of MMC’s mother, family pressure for them to have kids, on page sex, somnophilia reference (dubious consent), alcohol, inebriation, N-word (in-group use), gendered pejoratives, ableist language
Nico needs a date for a work event as well as for his family's Thanksgiving dinner. Both events end up laugh out loud good! But the connection between Nico's deceased mother and Bee is absolutely shocking!
Nico and Bee happened so effortlessly. He needed a date for his work event, then Bee happened, which led her to being invited to the Thanksgiving dinner with the Fiennes. Thanksgiving at the Fiennes is always a hoot.
Nicholas needs a stand-in date for a company party and Beatrice has a use for the money. What they both didn't expect was an actual connection that turned into something more.
There's something about the Fiennes!
This was my first read by @beingmrsjones and I enjoyed it. I recommend this 💎💎💎💎book and the mini-series as a whole.
Nico needed a date for his office holiday party and was hooked up with a friend's friend. Bee was what Nico needed and seeing them together was so sweet. She supported him and he supported her. They grew from strangers to new lovers and I was here for it. I loved how Bee bought Nico out of his shell. I didn't want this story to end!!
Synopsis: nico needs a date to a company event and bee needs money for her business! What happens when this set up has more layers to it than they realize?
My thoughts: this was my first book my this author and it didn’t disappoint at all! I loved how nervous nico was the whole time! And I loved how sweet bee was with him! These two were a perfect match!!
Alright now, CCJ! What a cute read! Although this was all for show, one could tell that Bee really wanted the best for Nico! Once they spent a little time together, their fate was sealed! Their chemistry was hot, even as they tried to downplay it all! I hope we get to see more from these couples in the future! Great read! 👍👍👍
Great trilogy for Thanksgiving of the Fiennes cousins. Bee and Nico’s story was really sweet. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 To Alexandra Warren, Nicole Falls and Christina Jones.
Ms. Jones, it seems like just been forever since I read something by you. This was magnificent and I enjoyed the Fiennes family. Nico's setup turned into someone he was truly interested in. I loved the connection Bee had to sewing which also pulled in Nico. I love how Bee's sewing materials were a full circle and linked to Nico. It seems they were a lot more compatible than it first seem. Nico is going to be there for Bee while she builds her business. The saying that it's better to give than receive holds true for this novelete. I hope 🤞🏾 that the Fiennes bruhzzins appear in future masterpieces. I would love to get an update on all three. It would be great to read about engagements, marriages, and babies.
This is a quick but witty series. All three of the guys found their ladies and wanted more with them. Once they started to want more the competition died itself. However, uncle Rico finally retired from the "ISYN" competition that went down during the holiday season himself. Mrs. Jones delivered the last part of this series with her expertise. It's two other parts to this series as well. I most certainly recommend all three books.
Thank Me Later is another Fiennes Family novelette in a series of interconnected standalones. I love how each book connects to one another, but can be read in any order. Plus, you don't see a lot of Thanksgiving stories, so it was a perfect way to spend my Turkey day coma. ;)
Nico needs a date for a work party and his friend sets him up with her friend, Bee. But what happens when a blind date turns into a family dinner that just may have more of a connection that either one of then could imagine. Another sexy, sweet and fun story in this series. I liked the way Bee was able to relax Nico and the way they connected quite quickly. I'm not usually a fan of insta, but this definitely had more to it than that. Do I wish we got more of their backstory? Of course. But then that would've made it a full length novel. I'm happy with the little we got, but could've definitely used more. Quick and fun read that can be read in one sitting or maybe in between preparing your thanksgiving dishes. ;) Perfect holiday read!
Nico is in desperate need of a date to make a lasting impression at work. Bee is busy and needs funds for her shop. A favor for a friend turns into huge dividends that go beyond monetary.
I always love how the author writes the friendships and their interactions with each other. The dialogue between characters is always rich, at times funny, other times emotional, and always well written. I want friends like them! For this to be a novella the characters were very developed. I was able to get them without a drawn out description.
The ending and how it all connected was beautiful. Many thanks to go around between friends, between Nico and Bee, and between Mrs. Sarah.
Thank Me Later by Christina C. Jones was such a cute Thanksgiving novelette! I really liked Bee and Nico. Their dynamic was charming from the start, and the fake dating-to-relationship setup was adorable. I think this officially confirmed that I really enjoy the fake dating trope because it was done so well here.
I especially loved Bee’s creativity, from thrifting clothes to repurposing them into something new. That detail made her feel so real and lovable. And the reveal that Nico’s mom was the woman who gifted Bee the old-school sewing machine (plus the other machines she owned)? That was such a sweet, full-circle touch that made the story feel even warmer.
Overall, this was a cozy, cute, feel-good Thanksgiving story that left me smiling.
I enjoyed Nico and Bee’s story. I wish it was longer. I understand these are novella but two of the three left me frustrated! That is not your fault Christina I knew what I was getting when I started reading. They were all of your books left that I had not read. A friend got me hooked on your stories about a month ago. When I tell you all I’ve been doing is tearing through them, BABY! So nothing left…The full length novels re better edited, no typos or words left out or in the wrong place like the novellas. They are still wonderful stories though. Keep writing and I will keep reading and harassing my friends to read your books!!
Oh wow🤗! …Mama Knew! “Thank Me Later” what a prophetic statement! “Thank Me Later: A Fiennes Family Novelette” - Book 3 of 3 was brief and yet a delightful read. I appreciate the intuitive perspective while exposing the pressures, anxieties and or social stigmas associated with navigating the corporate culture of achievements as B.U.Ps (Black Urban Professionals) or struggling Entrepreneurs. Nicholas (Nico) & Beatrice (Bee) were an adorable unconventional couple. ..socially acquainted…professionally escorted….divinely selected…Nico & Bee journey to a HEA is serendipitous🥰‼️
This was sooo good and just when I got comfortable the story ended. Nicholas and Bee are now my favorite couple😊 I Loved how Bee seemed to sense what Nicholas needed and was ready to do what ever she could. To make him feel at ease and help him all of his holiday hurdles It was clear that there was definitely a love connection.
Now I hope there will be more books to the Fiennes Family series because I really want to know what comes of the relationships of the Fiennes cousins and the women who have stolen their hearts ♥️
Nico had been closed off to women & relationships since his engagement broke off. Focusing solely on his career. Unable to dodge his boss any longer about meeting the woman in his life, Nico hired someone off a dating site to take to his job’s holiday party. Bee was the perfect fake girlfriend & eye candy for the Nico. The night was perfect until his boss insisted on taking pictures for the company’s website. After Nico was tagged in the pictures on his social media, his family insisted n meeting his new love interest.
