A quick skim/re-read before moving on to Revenant.

Wow book 15 and still going strong or Stronk as Olga would say. Anyway I really enjoyed this one and I found I’d missed these guys (okay so mainly Peaches but still) while waiting for this book.
When this series started I loved it but I think my problem was coming late to the party and reading all 14 books almost consecutively. Like with anything you can have too much of a good thing. And because I read them like that the constant recapping got on my last nerve. That wasn’t a problem here the recapping was gone and the book was far better for it. Let’s face it if you’re reading book 15 odds are that you’ve also read the previous ones.
The story continues and the guys are going to have to take on Chaos. Problem is they’re not strong enough. So with the help of Dex they head to England to power up Monty.
Now I can’t wait for the next one….

Monty and Simon never fail me. I love Monty so much and I’m so happy to jump back into this world after taking a long break. I can’t forget Peaches either. The day this series ends will be a very sad day for me!

There were a few laughs from Simon. A very quick read, finished it in a day. There was a serious lack of action in this book. It was like it was a prelude to something that never happened. Very disappointed in this one.

Level Up
The threat is real & in an effort to combat that threat the boys will take it upon themselves to do whatever is necessary to protect this world. Simon is still trying to find his place in this world but one thing is certain, he will have Tristan's back thru it all. Monty showed a little more "humanity" in this book, his conversations with Simon more personal. There's definitely more back story to Dex and the introduction of Witch Josephine just adds to the depth of the story. This story ARC just keeps getting better & better, it's hard to wait for the next book.

Not a stand-alone due to continuing storyline arc
This entry in the continuing storyline forces Monty and Simon, plus Hellhound Peaches, to travel to England—which has banished the duo and threatened death should they return. Only in England can Monty repair the life-threatening damage to his body—caused by his use of a Dark Rune whilst not fully healed from a Schism state.
I thoroughly enjoyed this M&S entry, because I liked the brief appearances of secondary characters like Olga, Cece, Rags, SuNaTran employees, enemy mages, etc. There’s interesting info about scary Dex’s background; the reappearance of grandmotherly Nana; and a surprising connection between Cecil and the Montagues. Of course there is wonderful, ever-ravenous Peaches.
Author Orlando Sanchez shores up his protagonists’ powers and tightens their relationship—needed for the story arc they continue on. There is some theology about Simon’s Kali-caused condition, his interactions with various Goddesses, and his long, long future. Simon finally (I think) has an inkling about what Kali’s Curse of Immortality really means.
There is a denouement of sorts, but the story arc will continue. I docked 1/2 star, because even in extraordinary UF series, I prefer stand-alones. That said, I’m ready to read about M&S being schooled by TK and LD at Fordey Boutique. Much pain to come.

The Dark Rune was hidden away, never to be used, but when Monte used it he didn’t know the consequences. Now Monte must find a way to justify his actions or die. He, Simon, Peaches, and Dex travel to London, which is now back in one piece after their last visit, to find York, an old and powerful Mage. To find him they seek the help of Josephine, a witch called Tempest. They plan to confront Chaos, an old and powerful mage, whom they have no chance of defeating without help from both York and Josephine. Meanwhile, there is an assassin in Simon's trail which must be diverted before they head to London, lest all of their plans are discovered.
Yes, it’s a tangled mess, and you are there with them every step of the way. It’s typical Montague and Strong but with even greater complexity than normal and lots of fun reading. Although we all know they will somehow succeed, I was at a loss to figure out how. Every move they make is dangerous and potentially deadly, as are the people they meet and depend upon to help them. This book follows on the previous story, so it is not a true stand-alone, but if you are thinking about this book you already know how they tie together. Be sure not to miss this one, a lot of loose ends are dealt with. Enjoy!

What happens when you have to face off against a god and you just don't have the power? Monty makes the hard (and potentially lethal) decision to rush his shift to Archmage. But the path to achieving the shift is just about as difficult as facing off against the god. Simon and Monty must depend on Monty's crazy Uncle Dex to make arrangements, they must go where they're not wanted, ask for help from a witch who doesn't want to talk to them, find an unstable and powerful mage who doesn't want to be found; all while fending off very persistent and powerful entities who want to kill Strong. Oh, and there's no guarantee that Monty will survive the Storm Blood. Just another wild adventure for the Montague and Strong detective agency. If you like tight, fast-paced urban fantasy with intriguing characters, terrific dialogue and a good story - you'll like this book!

Too much filler and just bad syle
Come on for real ? Like its not enough that they have enough dangerous issues as is, the people coming after simon and having to find the person in London oh and just getting into London should be enough but no you have to waste so much space filled with garbage like having to waste time with the blood rune thing. Oh and your endings suck too. Oh and its book 15 its getting old with Simon doing the constant lame whinny child thing, he needs to grow a set and grow up and stop being so willful ignorant. Oh and you never give him the time to mature the story is so run run run fast paced thee is little room for real story content in these books. You build and build the story then poof the end.

I can't help but love this trio of destruction.
After Monty used an Elder Rune in the last book, Verity is now targeting him for death. A successor is trying to kill Simon so she can take his place as Marked of Kali. And our Duo is realizing they are going to need a lot more power to take on the God Chaos. Their best hope may be an old, powerful witch and one old, powerful, possibly unstable mage. Don't worry, with the help of Peaches, Dex, Cecil, and some destruction they might be able to obtain Strom Blood.
This story introduces us to some new characters in the world of magic users, answers some questions, and has you looking forward to what's next for Monty and Simon.

Also, after getting his upgrade, Simon is now being hunted down by the Successors, who want him dead!
See an emerging pattern here?????
They need to go find a mad Mage 🤔🤔 to help Tristan, but things don't go as planned, do they ever?
I was so engrossed, that this book flew by whilst I read it and I wanted MORE lol.

Montague and Strong Excelence
Orland Sanchez keeps the ride going wit this new entry into the Montague and Strong story arc. I always look forward to these stories because they never disappoint and this one is no exception. Dex shows up and is really angry. Monty, to save the world from Chaos, did something that is unforgivable by the mage community. Because of this, he and Strong must go on an quest to obtain a power that will let them live, and fight the evil that is known as Chaos. A great read.

Leveling up
Okay I may be a little slow to catch on here, but it took a long time into this book to realize it wasn’t about going to fight a God. It was about leveling up and getting everything ready to stand a fighting chance. The emotion you get from their allies is immense. The sacrifice and willingness to see and do what must be done from the oldest people they come into contact with is beautiful and also leaves that room for mystery because they also seem to all be dramatic and ‘hard to kill’ like Nana. I am so looking forward to the next step in this fight.

Consistently Amazing
Read this book. Don't START here - the journey is greater than the sum of its parts. And read all the other books in this universe. Or make it easy on yourself; become an obsessed Orlando Sanchez fan like I am, and read EVERYTHING with his name on it. I swear, if he wrote a shopping list, I'd read two lines and then sit down and read it straight through.
Then ask when the next one is coming out, and if he needs me to shop in any other somehow-related stores.

Orlando Sanchez really takes action to the next level with a story so fast paced and immersive that you don't want to put it down. As usual the humour and wit really pull you in and leave you wanting much more.

In this latest installment of The Montague and Strong Case Files we see more adventure, more character development and more Dex. Monty is still recovering from his schism, Simon seems to be maturing (or at least figuring out when to and when not to) and Peaches is hungry for Extra extra meat. I enjoyed this book immensely and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys humor, action and a well crafted story!

The author delivers another great story in the Montague & Strong world. The destructive duo is headed back to London, seeking a lost blood rune hidden by a mad Mage. They need it to battle the god Chaos, who wants to destroy them. It will take the help of one of the Ten, a Lady who just wants to be left alone in her forest. A must read.

Back in London
While i detest both coffee and tea, I am a huge M&S fan. The series is definitely beyond the point of just jumping into them at these later books but even then, a new reader could follow the story. My biggest ask is that Simon still seems to be fumbling along and it is past time for him to really start learning what he can accomplish whether by himself or with Monty and/or Peaches. With Stormblood, maybe this will start happening sooner rather than later.

Monty and Simon return to London. Most of it is still standing when they leave. Chaos is still a threat Monty and Simon must seek the power and knowledge to be able to beat Chaos. They meet old enemies develop new ones and make new friends, their bond as mage and shieldbearer continues to grow and develop. Orlando has most certainly moved the guys forward into developing who they are and what they are meant to be. A hell of a read.
Monty and Simon return to London. Most of it is still standing when they leave. Chaos is still a threat Monty and Simon must seek the power and knowledge to be able to beat Chaos. Book 15… can you believe it? This series continues to grow and improve the characters and their stories. Edge of your seat reading, while the surround sound of your imagination fills the soundtrack and explosions like any blockbuster movie…
My only complaint - BOOK 16 is not written yet. If ever there were a series bingeworthy, this is it. Prepare to lose time while you are locked into this story.

The Destructive Duo know they must face an old god. And they know they're outmatched. So how does one achieve god mode? Of course it's via an ancient and likely lethal ritual. But to do so, they must travel to a city from which they've been banned for questionable renovation judgement, all to hunt down a mage who poses similar lethality. Action and humor ransack as events unfold in surprising ways including a cameo from someone thought deceased.

Together they must overcome the obstacles thrown in their way.

The Terrible Trio is BACK!
As always, Mr. Sanchez has written a captivating story. I simply adore our boys. I am and am not looking forward to things ramping up. On the one hand: we get even more badass Monty, Simon and Peaches. On the other hand, the stakes are going to be so much higher, the losses so much greater. I'm praying that our boys make it through but...who knows? Only way to find out. Onto the next book!

Another disappointment by Sanchez. The last 2 books were so incredibly boring and dastardly to read. This was such a promising series, I was surprised at my dislike of books 14 & 15. These books contained zero plot twists and cliff hangers and I was able to easily predict what would happen - and could have done so in 1/4 the amount of time. Overall big disappointment. This book gave a lot of introspection for Monty making him face the consequences of his previous actions and learning that destruction isn’t always the first answer. Nice seeing Nana again also Josephine was cool too. This book also shows how deep the bond between Simon and Monty that being together is always better. Honestly if they didn’t have their own partners I wouldn’t mind them being together 😭

Simon is being hunted by Kali's favorites. Monty needs to find a reclusive mage of questionable sanity and perform a dangerous ritual. Peaches is hungry. And they need to visit London, the collective population of which would rather never see them again. I mean, they *just* got the bridges back up!
