“Deadwood Creek Mystery” was a quick, engaging read full of suspense, and an excellent series conclusion. The ending feels as satisfying to the reader as it does to the detectives who fought and chased their way throughout the four novels. In this, book number four of Peyton Dinwiddie’s series about Deadwood, justice triumphs as both of the men being hunted by the three detectives have been found. Theo Bradly, responsible for Lona’s murder, is dead, and Yule, the man who murdered Grace, has been apprehended. Yule portrayed himself as an ally to the detectives, but it was merely a front for his criminal empire. After all of the times Bradly just barely escaped their grasp, he will never elude Marcus, Raymond, and Gina again, giving Marcus the peace and closure he has been looking for. He was finally able to fulfill the promise he made to his mother as he stood over her casket: his sister’s killer will never hurt anyone again.
I’d like to thank Peyton Dinwiddie for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
