I should’ve never come after him. He is a monster… One car accident is all it took for Angelo Preston to come and rock my world.
I was determined to find the man who almost put an end to my life and make him pay.
I don’t even want to think what would happen to my dying mother if she had lost me and the little I make as a nurse.
Yet, I never realized I got trapped in the devil's claws. Until it was too late…
A dangerous Mafia Boss that kills without even blinking is far from my cup of tea.
But the moment I knocked on his door and laid eyes on him, I was a lost cause. I got too carried away by his sweet torture and damned the consequences.
For he made me feel things that I thought I was never capable of.
Now, I’m doomed to love a ruthless murderer that will only destroy me…
I am his forever to break…
*If you are a good girl dreaming of a knight in shining armor, then step away from this novel! If you fantasize about hot, wildly sexy alpha males, then this one's for you! My heroes are dangerous, dark, and demanding—an HEA guaranteed with no cheating but lots of pain and pleasure. You have been warned! Proceed at your own risk…
As a teenager, Faye used to read at night with a flashlight underneath her bed covers. She fantasized of bad boys who stopped at nothing to capture the hearts and bodies of their women, and of equally strong heroines. Make no mistake, there are no damsels in distress in her world.
Her addiction is the “enemies to lovers” trope, and maybe that’s why when she first met her husband, their chemistry was just as sizzling as their disapproval of each other. But as in her novels, passion won, and now they live through their happily ever after.
By day, she is taking care of her household. By night, her shadow self emerges to satisfy her undisclosed desires. Literary and not.
I had to DNF. I’ve read a few of this Authors books & loved them, absolutely loved them. Unfortunately I just didn’t like this one. The H felt way too flat & weak for a mafia boss, he didn’t have that alpha or ruled with an iron fist feeling, even though everyone was scared of him there was nothing shown for them to be scared of. I loved the whole kidnap plot but that was about it sadly.
DNF @ 23% This book had everything to be great, but was reduced to a bunch of clichés wrapped together !
The poor witty h with the sick mother, living paycheck to paycheck to pay the bills! The mafia boss that gets insta-lust because the h is such a "special" snowflake and does everything in his power to force a relationship!
Random thoughts: The h is Latin or Italian? The name did not fit the "person"! (every time the name appear I just remembered Gidget from PETS saying Marrria rolling the rs in an exaggerated way!) The villain is a lazy created, flat, boring character! The H was a lot of smoke, zero fire!
I get excited every time I read Faye's new novel. And I find Angelo quite different from her other heroes. He is not cruel and heartless. On the contrary, he is charming, patient and gentle, even though he is a Mafia boss. But he chose peace over war. But if anyone attacks or starts first Angelo was ready to fight and the result was only victory.
As for Maria, she's had a hard life. She works hard to earn money to take care of her sick mother and pay the bills. until one day Destiny made Angelo and Maria meet.
Angelo was interested in Maria the first time she saw him.
“I came here to apologize… And then I saw that the woman who I was supposed to apologize to is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Now, it is simple: you will become mine.”
after reading this sentence I want to scream 😂
But Maria is not as easy as Angelo thought. So he had to do whatever it took to get her. leaving her no choice make her have no job and not having enough money to pay the bills and take care of her mother. And finally, Maria was caught in a trap that Angelo had set. I'm not surprised why Maria fell in love with Angelo so easily. Even if he did something wrong that ruined her life. But he took good care of Maria. take care of her mother Every time she is stubborn He tried to be patient. He was very sweet. He admired her every chance he had. I could feel the love and passion Angelo had for Maria. Even though he used to speak badly to her and hurt her. But he tried to fix it. and win her heart again And that makes me jealous of Maria 😂😂
And I'm going to say that Angelo's punishment is very hot. Their sex scenes, you guys shouldn't miss.
"how can I work with a broken arm ?"Maria Doyle's life couldn't get much worse, she was working as a nurse at the Stan Merryweather Hospital, her boss Vanessa Valeska made her life as unbearable as she could but Maria needed the job, she had to pay for her mothers cancer treatment, Maria had to find the idiot who's speeding car ploughed into her and make him pay, she knew the registration but for some reason the police were reluctant to help. Mafia boss Angelo Preston couldn't get the beautiful red head out of his mind, they had run into her , they couldn't stop to help but he must find her. Angelo had taken over from his late father as head of the mafia, his father was respected and kept peace in the city, Angelo wanted desperately to follow in his fathers footsteps and keep the city peaceful but Vasquez and his followers had other ideas, he would wipe Angelo and his team out and take over the city.......he would be rich. This story follows the desperate measures that Angelo would take to make Maria his, Maria's spirited opposition but her need to take care of her mother, the opposition and betrayal within Angelo's team, the corruption in the PD. This is a lovely story of enemies to lovers, there is one thing in this story that didn't ring true and which I can't reveal without spoiling the story but overall I really enjoyed it. I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
A hit and run leads to a man’s obsession for the beautiful woman with her red hair.
Angelo and Benny was escaping a near miss from being killed in a shootout with his arch nemesis. In their escape Benny ran up on the sidewalk where Maria was waiting for a cab in the rain. Maria was a nurse who was catching hell from her supervisor who seemed destined to create all types of things for her to do. When she was hit by the car, the last thing she remembered was the license plate. Maria was struggling trying to take care of her mom who was suffering from cancer. The medicines and medical bills was costing more than she makes. Angelo could not forget the woman with the red hair and started on a quest to find her. When he saw her at the hospital he wanted to apologize and he give her some money but he wanted her for himself. He got her fired and waited for her to come to him and when she did, he kept her. He moved her mom to a medical facility so she could get the care she needed. Angelo had so many issues going on and Maria gave him the stability that he needed until she was kidnapped. A great story with a beautiful happily ever after. Maria got the one thing she desired and that was to become a doctor. This book is worth reading and I recommend to try it you will not be disappointed.
This is the second book I have read and again, I was not disappointed with this enemy to lovers mafia romance, being captivated from the start.
Maria, who after being run over and left with a broken arm, unable to work and needing to care for her illl mother, tries to track the car down to ask the owner for compensation, only to find the owner to be the local mafia boss, Angelo.
Sparks fly as soon as they meet with Angelo determined to claim Maria as his but she doesn't give in that easily. The chemistry between them from the start was 🔥 even if Maria tried to resist him. Angelo shows us both his tough alpha mafia boss side as well as his softer side for Maria as he battles against winning and trying to protect Maria, alongside the usual, but still page turning, mafia turf wars and all that comes with being a newly appointed mafia boss.
There was enough suspense, humour, unexpected twists and some really hot scenes to keep me fully engrossed and wanting more from Faye...I need to go and discover the rest of her books!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
From the time Maria got knocked over by a speeding car on the pavement, she was determined to find the man that did it, the police said they had no record of the car licence that she had given them so she went and asked her friend Johnny. Once Johnny heard the car registration number he warned her to stay clear and forget it, but she was headstrong and wanted to know.
Angelo felt guilty for running the red headed women over and not stopping although he wasnt the one driving he had to track her down. When he met her in the hospital that she worked at he was stunned by her beauty, and he wanted her and was going to have her.
After getting her fired from her job and with lots of debt and left his card for her she decided that she would confront him face to face, and then he kept her there.
As the war got more dangerous, Angelo knew the only way to keep Maria safe was to keep her in his loft as danger was all around them
I loved this book, I am really enjoying the Mafia boss genre.
This is the second book I’ve read by Ms. Pierce. I loved Hunter’s Prey. So I was excited about reading this book. But for me it wasn’t what I expected, fell a bit short. Angelo and Maria were supposed to have this immediate draw to one another but I just couldn’t feel it. There was no sizzle or spark that I could see or feel. Their conversations were strange and felt forced. And some topics that they conversed about had me wondering why are they talking about this stuff. Maria was a well educated person, she’s a nurse and in a described scene it seemed like she also worked in the OR with the doctors, so it’s a given that she is intelligent. But at times I found her to be not smart and her actions not matching her intelligence. Angelo also didn’t give me the mafia boss energy or strength. Maybe because the beginning of the book he wasn’t feared or respected by his peer and his men? But for whatever reason I didn’t get that vibe and aura that dangerous mafia men give off. So while loving the previous book by the author this one isn’t for me.
Untamed Obsession has some twists and turns that I didn't see coming. It definitely has some steamy scenes as well. It kept me interested in the story. There were some slow parts that had me putting book down, but I came back to it after a bit.
I wish Maria had more spunk. I think I would have been more invested had she fought harder for her freedom. I just think she gave in too easily. Most of the book transpired in a 2 week timeline. I was thinking it was more like months that he kept her imprisoned but I realized it was only 2 weeks. Their feelings for each other would have been more believable in my opinion had they had more time. And with a mother on her death bed, I find it odd that she didn't inquire about her and there was no emotion or fear that her mom was left alone.
I think Untamed Obsession had a good plot, but just needed a little more character development.
Angelo is a possessive alpha, mob boss trying to run his side of town like his dad. Maria works as a nurse in a poorly paid job. Her mother is ill and the bills are overwhelming. Maria is hit by a car, loses her job and falls into Angelo's trap. He wanted her from the first time he saw her and she fought against her attraction to him. As she spent more time with him and learned more of what he did as the boss, she had time for reflection. A quote from our author- I found interesting. "But I feared what might happen if I was let into all of that darkness, how it might change my perspective on things and change me as a whole person." A good story, many parts were very good and well worth your time. Good character development, interesting interactions between couple with great steamy scenes.
The plot was well placed but the time line throw me for a loop. It jumped a lot. The POV of the two MC didn’t tell you when it went from a day to a week or a month. I love to learn how some people perceive how the Mafia is. Maria was a smart women that know what she was doing. Angelo was a possessive but sweet guy. Benny and Dorothy was great too….
This is the second book I’ve read by this author. I first read “Merciless Romeo” which I thought was pretty good, but this one, not so much. There were time skips that you had to piece together yourself because there was no indication by the author. And it felt like there was so much more that could have been added to the plot. It felt rushed, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the lack of relationship build there was. One day they hated each other then like 2 days later it seemed that the heroine was head over heels for him. I wouldn’t recommend.
This book got me out of my mafia book funk; it keep me stuck on each page until the end of the story. I love Maria's character! She's a strong willed woman, and Angelo... well he's just a different story. He's not used to getting "no" as an answer and he does what he needs to get what he wants. I really enjoyed this book a lot and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from this author!.
Trying to lead as a Mafia leader may not be for him. His father wanted him to lead with less violence as possible. It was a struggle because he was letting his feelings for a woman take his focus away instead of leading his people during a time when they needed him the most. The person who doubled cross him was a little surprise It was a fantasy story
I received this as an arc. I had trouble reading from all the editing that needs done on it…. That being said the overarching mafia plot line was interesting. The dialogue between Maria and Angelo was hard to believe and even childish at times but mixed with spice?? Idk it was decent overall but not something I would ever read again.
I liked the chemistry between Mario and Angelo. I would recommend the book to anyone over 18. The reason for rating I gave was it took me a while to get into it but once I did it was pretty good.
Absolutely loved this book!!! Such a good mafia romance with something always happening to keep you on edge!!! I loved the characters and how much it pulls you in!!!! Well done!!
A story of a rich mafia boss and a strong passionate heroine who both have their lives turned upside down through a hit and run accident. A journey that eventually leads to love.
is Maria and Angelo's story How it starts doesn't how sexy Angelo is I really didn't like him but like the book as he revealed his true colours you change with the story. Great read
For me, this book started out interesting but the middle of the book kind of dragged on and seemed repetitive. However, the twist towards the end I thought was great. Overall, this book pretty good.
This is the second book of the series and it a good book and I cant wait to read the next book and I got this book as an arc and I loved it cuz it my type of books and the story keep u on ur toes
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was very original and super hot and stalkerish. Totally my jam. Both characters were well written and the detail Faye Pierce went into with this book was amazing. If you do have any triggers please read with caution. This book took me on a ride that I fully enjoyed!! I loved the plot and all the twists and turns I got to read. I couldn't put this book down!!!
Maria is a strong FMC that doesn't give up and keeps on fighting even when everything is against her. I loved this about her. She wasn't weak or meek in any means and I loved her mother. Angelo was a dark, obsessive, and hot MMC. He always got what he wanted and wouldn't stop until he got it. I see him as one who would burn the world down to keep Maria.
