I've been reading Jillian Eaton since 2018. This is my 18th book by her and have 4 others on my fire to read.

What a great read! I loved that this series seems to have a bit more steam than some of her other books, which I love. I really loved this story and these characters. I really liked book 1 a lot but I think I liked this one even better. It's already a quick read but I was reading so fast because I couldn't wait to read what was going to happen (even though you really already know:)) Reading Bridget and Graham's story was great. I love how the story turned out towards the end and I think it’s the way it should have been. If things would have progressed earlier, who knows, they may have not had the intense passion they got.

The first book in this series was so yummy and I expected this one to be just as fun. And it was!!!! If you love funny moments, sexy moments and some heartwarming moments, this is the book for you. I absolutely loved the chapter titles. They are both hilarious and so true. I love a grumpy hero who changes his stripes to become the loving man the heroine has dreamed of. This story is more than a frilly romance. Jillian gives us a story of warmth and compassion. So very good.

This is my first book by this author and at the risk of sounding cliché, it won’t be my last! I loved her writing, very emotional, captivating, entertaining. I really enjoyed the hilarious scenes (quite a few!) which were perfectly mixed with an substantial dose of angst. I would have preferred if the main characters had found each other earlier in the story (I wanted to punch Graham more than a couple of times during the book!), but I loved it all the same. I quite liked that quiet, shy Bridget had a wicked side to her… Just perfect to help unravel the strict hold that Graham had on himself. Five star book!

Love and Fear

Bridget, beautiful, talented and compassionate, is the least attractive of the four Rosewood sisters, so when Viscount Croft asks to court her, she thinks it is like something from the romance stories she loves. Sadly, Graham only wants a mother for his abandoned children.
I loved this, him trying to suppress his feelings and her buoyant optimism. Bridget has a strength and curiosity which lifts her above the compliant heroine, while Graham's struggles are all too real, and well-described.

Just.. what?? This is supposed to be a regency novel, and yet page 41.. 15% in, she’s stuck behind a sofa, he’s rescuing her, AND SHE LICKS HIS PANTS?!?!? You know, because that’s something EVERY girl does? THEN, in the middle of a busy dinner party, she drops her son and proceeds to crawl under the table and jerk him off?!? What the hell did I just read??? Absolutely a 1 star novel, but gets an extra just for pure amusement value.

I confess I close to close the book in the early chapters but as I like the author’s style, I decided to go forward.
And by the end I was glad I did not give up on this story.

Bridget feels she does not match with her sisters, she is not jealous but she understands while each has her own particularity, beauty, astuteness, wildness, quietness and shyness are not the most sought after qualities.
So she is used to be overlooked for her other sisters and she accepts it with grace. When in the inside, she longs for more, passion and ardor.
Graham on the contrary, had a taste of passion and it turned bitter, leaving him utterly broken and determined to never again love. So much he is in search of a permanent governess for his children, one who can not quit, a wife.
Why he has set his choice on Bridget, bookish and demure Bridget. Perfect for his purpose, a woman who won’t tempt him, so he thought.

Bridget is an awesome young woman, she accepts her lot but also is able to see what she can do to better it. She can not change Graham’s will to avoid her but she might be able to win his children’s trust. She does what she must to create a home for herself even when she believes there will always between she and Graham.

Their romance is a very emotional one as Bridget comes to believe she will never be enough and accept to only be a shadow of the wife she is demanded to be and Graham who fights with himself, more than drawn to Bridget but scared to let himself feel again, rejecting the pull he feels at every turn.

Now what nearly lost me to the story : I understand a woman who wants to be seen for more than she appears to be.
So I can only cheer when she takes her life in her hands but I did not like Sinful Bridget, she is vulgar not in the meaning she uses crude words but her actions are vulgar. She has lost all decency. A man who would dare to touch my breast without my consent, he would be in for a dressing down at minima.
So how can she go directly to man’s crotch without even an once of thinking about the impropriety of it and how she imposes on the man, it is abuse.
Even if this was presented as some comic moments, I was unable to see the humorous side of the two scenes.
Why I give this story 3.5 stars instead of 4.5.

This is the second book in this series and just as exciting or better than the first!! The Rosewoods girls all have their own specials talents. Lenora, Bridget, Annabel and Eloise. Bridget is the shy, quiet, bookish one.
She has grown up in the shadow of her sisters. She is not jealous of them of them she loves all her sisters. She is happy with her romance books, and playing the pianoforte which she is very talented at. They have planned a house party to try and find husbands as they are almost broke.
She will help her sisters try to find a match but knows she will not be the one getting married. Unknown to all she has a secret. She dreams of a tall, handsome man and the passion and naughty things they could do. She has had dreams of her fellow for years.
Graham, Lord Croft has come to the Rosewoods house party for one reason only. He needs a wife for his unruly children. Someone who can't up and leave like all the nannies and governess have. He is a broken and sad man. His wife left him when his daughter Violet was a newborn and his son Sebastian jut a toddler. Leaving him and his son also for other man. Heartbroken and dealing with the sham and scandal he left London and hasn't been out in society since. He needs a quiet, shy woman who will be happy with the children in the county while he works in town. A marriage of convenience is what he is after, Bridget is his choice.
Oh, my how the best laid plans in thought change in real life.
This is such a fun, interesting, fast moving story of two people both with secrets, hurts and a ton
of other thing to get thru. The learning and changing is great, we meet up with Lenora and Perth from book one which was fun. The kids are a hoot with what they come up when first meeting Bridget. This couple has a lot of ups and downs, but with so much passion and attraction between
they can't stop their feeling. I loved Bridget's naughty side showing up to waylaid uptight Graham.
If for no other reason one has to read this book for the dinner/table scene !
You do not have to read the stories in order but will help understand the history.
This is a steamy book both with actions and thoughts too for those who like to know.

I enjoyed book 1 and wasn't sure the author could invoke the emotions book 1 did for me, but she did. In book 1 the author describes grief and I thought it explained it so well. I even mentioned it in my review of THE ROSE AND THE DUKE!

In this story she explains it in a different way and it tugged at my heart too. The h doesn't want to play on the pianoforte because it was something she did with her deceased mother. These are the author's words: She'd stare at the pianoforte. But she wouldn't play. She couldn't. Because the instant that the air rang with sound of a single note, it would be the first time she made music without her mother. END. My of my, that says it all doesn't it? I could feel the h's pain!

The h is the 2nd oldest of 4 sisters. In book 1 we get the story of the oldest sister. In this one, it is unfolding at the same time but hers is in the background. These are stand alone stories, but I loved book 1 and hope you read it too.

The h doesn't feel she measures up to her 3 sisters. When the H decides to talk to her she assumes he really wants one of her sisters. The h is a sweet, loving, caring and practical women, almost on the shelf. The H wants only a mother for his children and makes it clear love nor intimacy will not be in the cards. The H is caring a lot of baggage due to his first wife. What the poor h has to endure is very emotional.

There's a scene in the dining room that is funny and erotic at the same time. I did find it hard to believe, given the personality of the h she would do what she did - but it was entertaining. Foreplay prior to marriage and lovemaking within - heat level 4.5 out of 5.

Twist at the end that was shocking. No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, little on romance and steam. I recommend this series, story and author. A few crude words used and the Lord's name once I believe.

I love Jill Eaton’s prologues… she sets up her books really well. I was all in with just a few pages and I couldn’t wait to devour Graham and Bridget’s story!!

Graham is the kind of hero that’s my kryptonite… moody, broody, and so determined not to fall in love. And imma like, “Oh Honey, resistance is futile.” I did want to shake him a bit, coz his decision to close off his heart was hurting Bridget. But when he finally opened up, I ugly cried AF. I’m so glad that Bridget was able to bulldoze the ice around his heart.

Bridget is a shy, almost spinster who believes in romance and passion, but she’s also a realist. So when Graham courts her, she knows this is the only chance she’ll get at having her own family… just not the one she’s always dreamt about. But she’s such a wonderful heroine. She’s exactly what Graham and his children needed… someone who is constant, spontaneous, and very patient. I absolutely loved her

PS. I loooooove the Dowager Duchess of Monmouth (The mother of the hero in book 1) in this one. Her “fern” analogy made me kinda teary.

Jillian Eaton knocked it out of Hyde Park!! I’m totally invested in this series and can not wait for the next installment in the Ravishing Rosewood series!! Good job, JE!!

This is the second book in the Ravishing Rosewoods Series and Jillian has given us another great story. Bridget and Lenora are so different and their stories are too. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Bridget Rosewood is the sister that is overlooked and would rather read a book than go to a ball or social function. At the house party, Graham, Lord Croft, approaches Bridget to spend time with her. She has always found him attractive and admired him from afar and can’t believe he wants to court her.

Graham has been hurt very badly by his wife when she left him and his two young children, he is looking for a wife to take care of his children. He has no intentions of developing feelings for Bridget if they do get married and he will make sure she understands their marriage will be one of convenience not romance.

Bridget is a romantic and even though the thought of not having a romantic relationship with Graham bothers her she takes a chance and agrees to becoming his wife.

Jillian has written a great story with a lot of emotional ups and downs. I absolutely loved Bridget she was funny, caring, and showed so much compassion to Graham’s children and had the patience of a saint with Graham. You will be rooting or screaming for Graham to wake up and see Bridget for the wonderful person she is and recognize she is nothing like his ex-wife.

So much hurt…so much pain. Graham suffered greatly when his wife walked out on their children and him. He was emotionally distraught, and found himself dealing with scandal and rumors, while trying to protect his son and daughter, as well as his heart. Several years and multiple governesses later, he decided it was time to remarry so that his children could have a mother figure. It would be a marriage of convenience only, as he was unwilling to risk his heart ever again. He selected Bridget and attended a house party with the intention of courting her and marrying her….which he did. However, he did not expect Bridget to be love personified or so surprisingly passionate. Keeping her at arms length was going to be difficult. This is a ‘one step forward, two steps back’ kind of story. Both Graham and Bridget were desperate to give love and be loved in return, and Bridget’s agreement to enter into a marriage where love was one-sided is a testament to her ability to love unconditionally. Graham’s fear is quite understandable and his emotional turmoil simply bleeds off the page. The story is sprinkled with steamy moments and the children provide comic relief as well as a catalyst for healing and bonding. This is an engaging, heart wrenching and heart warming story that will leave you wanting more.

This is my second book read of this author’s Rosewood series. A very engaging read, well-paced and well-written, this heart-tugging love story pulls the reader in, making one invested in the lives of the lead couple, Bridget Rosewood and Graham Croft, Viscount. The characters are convincing and relatable. Like Lord Croft, I know of many who choose to push people away out of fear of getting hurt or having their heart broken. And like Lady Bridget, there are also those who have the compassionate, empathetic and forgiving nature, ever hopeful and positive, almost willing their happy endings. Although many may not get their happily-ever-after, it is lovely and skillful the way this author maneuvered the story into a believably inevitable romance.

The best parts about this novelette is its brevity, humor and it’s focus on characterization. I found myself truly rooting for Bridget and hoping Lord Croft will finally see what a treasure Lady Bridget is. As of now, Bridget has gained the position of most favored Rosewood, and for a reason. Also, there were moments which we very affecting and heart-tugging.

It is commendable how the author featured a character who embodied selfishness and how the couple reacted to the dereliction of duty.

Highly recommended to anyone who desires a great romance.

Okay, so Bridget was an intelligent, gentle, shy, forgiving, thoughtful, kind wallflower. She would do anything for her sisters. I admired Bridget when she became "sinful Bridget". That was too funny! I did feel badly that she felt less than her other sisters. She did not feel she compared at all to any of them. If she disappeared from a room no one would even miss her. That made me sad. However, she had an optimistic outlook on love. Graham was still hurt over what his first wife did to him and to the children. So, he amended his expectations of marriage to be one of convenience for his children's sake so they could have a mother. The only problem was that the time he kissed Bridget he felt things he did not want to feel. This is how he felt and I quote from the book "She tasted of warm summer nights and cozy winter mornings. Of coming home after a long day and that first sip of coffee after a late night. Of dreams he hadn’t yet dreamt and possibilities that he hadn’t known existed." I thought that was so romantic. But Graham was not about to let himself get hurt so he denied all these feelings he had for Bridget. Poor Bridget got the raw end of the stick. But in the end, she got her happily ever after. I do recommend this book. It was great fun to read.

Here is the thing, I was so excited to read this book that I feel disappointed with it.

1. I am not a spelling police but LORD, there were so many grammar issues here. Some of the font was also off too. I distracted me a bit, as I wonder how on earth some of the misspellings were not corrected.

2. The mentioned of Graham's ex-wife was too much. It felt like I was reading a love triangle, and I loath those. There was no real threat to the relationship here, but the shadow of the ex-wife as greater than life. Every move Graham made toward Bridget, was compared to the ex-wife. The ex-wife was ever present. Even the scene in which Graham brought Elsbeth to the manor, it was distasteful. I did not liked that.

3. Some of the things that Bridget and Graham did during the house party were very out there. Some of the stuff were so out of the realm of reality even for a fictional book. lol. But it was still fun.

4. Bridget sometimes felt like a child/teenager, that I felt weird shipping the MCs.

5. I did like that Graham was passionate with her, even if it was at the end of the book. I like enjoy the feeling of will he or will he not. I did feel this desperation from Graham to have Bridget but a resistance of protecting his heart.

Overall, the story was okay. Maybe I expected more. Things seemed to have been resolved at a hasty pace.

I loved the first book in this series & couldn't wait to read the second - it was worth the anticipation & more!

The four sisters are hosting a house party & it's the first social event since coming out of mourning after the loss of their parents. Bridget Rosewood is the quiet, calm, polite sister - she would rather be off by herself with a good book than attend something like this house party to find a husband for one or more of her sisters.

Graham Northam, Viscount Croft, has come out of seclusion in search of a wife. He needs a quiet, sweet wife to be the mother of his two children in a marriage of convenience. He has sworn to never get caught in the love & emotions he experienced in his failed first marriage.

Bridget has been attracted to Graham since her first waltz with him three years ago but he is too handsome and worldly for her. I realize steam level is entirely a matter of personal preference. The premise was predictable but promising -- jaded handsome lord seeks loveless marriage so children will have a mother, sets sight on wallflower for this purpose. They're at a house party, she is somehow stuck behind the settee because her dress is caught, or something. I honestly couldn't figure out the logistics of how a settee would land on top of her dress when there's no reason the furniture would get lifted up as she crouched down. But romance reasons, so okay. Our hero comes to help her. Without thinking she LICKS HIS TROUSER BUTTON. This is not the behavior of a wallflower, or any respectable maiden of the regency but historical accuracy is not the hallmark of the genre. But is that a thing people do in the present day? Is sewing notions sucking a kink I'm unaware of? But then his dong becomes so erect it is poking out of the top of his trousers and I stopped reading. This is the SECOND CONVERSATION between our hero and heroine, the first being her fleeing his presence out of being so shy and flustered from interacting with a man.

I gave it two stars only because it is possible that someone who enjoys an uninvited penis bared during the meetcute might still enjoy this book.

Jillian Eaton has written a story filled with remarkable emotions, unforgettable characters that are well thought out and each and everyone comes across clearly as their individual personalities become more than just part of the tale, a enjoyable plot, and with visits from characters who you found a special place in your heart from the previous novel that leaves you eagerly anticipating the next in the series.

A charming hero, a kind heroine, a house party in the country, some stolen kisses (and more?)… what more does a lady want?

I’ve done it again, I have descended into the depths of regency romance that I cannot and do not want to emerge.
Regency romance will always hold a very dear place in my heart, and this story is sooo beautiful.

I’m fairly certain that this was a re-read for me, although I cannot find any mentions of this book in my Goodreads or my notes, but I definitely read this story before.

Nevertheless, this is just a beautiful one. I love a good house party setting and the Rosewood sisters are charming. Lord Croft is an absolutely stunning hero and I loved to see how he tried to keep his passionate side to himself, but sometimes just couldn’t help himself (sigh…)

+ Kudos to Lady Bridget and her interests! Loved that she wasn't shy, but wanted to experience passion and romance

Lord Croft has decided that he needs a new wife to be a mother to his two young children, who have been allowed to run wild. At the Rosewoods house party his choice falls on quiet, well behaved Lady Bridget. Fortunately, Lady Bridget has been in love with Lord Croft for several years despite the fact that their paths have barely crossed and they have hardly spoken to each other. Sadly what follows is a thin storyline padded out with lots of unlikely, and boring, steamy sex scenes. The only element of the story that I enjoyed, and that felt genuine, was the description of the family life of the Rosewood siblings as they grew up and the interactions of the four sisters at the house party. I felt there was genuine affection between the sisters as they looked out for each other.

A well-known theme, written in a light and humorous writing style, with original twists.
Graham has two children and is separated from his wife. Disappointed in love, he now only wants a practical marriage and a mother to his children. It's not exactly the proposal the romantic Bridget has been waiting for, but against her better judgment she accepts it anyway.
Because there have been the few moments where she did see the passionate Graham, would he reappear in their marriage? Well structured, well written. Well-developed characters. I found both Graham and Bridget a bit annoying at times. I found Bridget's boldness a bit strange at first, and Graham wasn't the most sympathetic character, but they fit together.
A smooth running story with some spicy scenes every now and then.

The four Rosewood sisters are hosting a house party after mourning the loss of their parents. Every one who is anyone in Society is in attendance and some hope to find their match. Bridget is not interested in a husband, but instead gets her romance through reading.

Graham, Viscount Croft, is in search of a wife who will be a mother to his two children. After his disastrous first marriage, he plans to protect his heart at all costs. However, when he meets Bridget, he has a hard time keeping his emotions in check.

This was an entertaining book, full of humor, emotion and a few steamy moments. It has everything that the Regency romance lover needs: fashion, parties, a few misunderstandings and a happily ever after ending. All in all, it is a quick read, full of romance mixed with just the right amount of humor and pathos.

The Rose and the Viscount is the 2nd in the series, Ravishing Rosewoods, by author Jillian Eaton. This is the story of Graham, Viscount Croft and Bridget one of the four Rosewood sisters who meet at a house party given at their home. Graham is there to find a wife to be a mother for his two children who were left behind when his first wife left him for another man. The relationship between Graham and Bridget is chaotic as he is determined to have a marriage that is in name only and is free of love. After the marriage, Bridget has to find ways to develop relationships with the children, Sebastian and Violet while at the same time find a way to break through her husband's defenses. The story contains some steam, romance and a happily ever after.

This is book two of The Ravishing Rosewoods though you don't need to read the first to read this one. Though book one is great too, so go read that one too! This book is about sister, Bridget and Graham, Viscount Croft. Bridget is often overlooked so expects to become a spinster, though she longs for a family of her own and love. Graham is one damaged soul! Can Bridget's love heal him? Graham is so damaged from his first marriage that he can't let love in again. He frustrated me so much through out this book, the idiot man! Bless Bridget's loving heart. Most women would of given up on him! This story kept you interested...you just had to find out what happened in Graham's first marriage!

The funny thing about this story is they both have crushes but only Bridget is willing to be very haughty and risk her heart first! When they get married but are they!? The children pull pranks and lack discipline!
Bridget puts a quick end to their shenanigans with her love and discipline! When the past comes back to haunt them Graham has some chooses to make!? Love Bridget his Rose and let go of the past for the future! Love this series! Bravo!!!

I started reading this novel and found I couldn't put it down! They each had "wounds" that needed to be healed. In Graham's case, it had to do with his ex-wife's treatment of him and their marriage and Bridget needed to realise that she was just as passionate as her siblings!

I found Bridget was hilarious and lovely when they first meet and he wants to speak with her. The things she did were shocking but so very funny!!

I love how she became the healer and the glue that brought them all together with her kindness, compassion and love. I would recommend this novel wholeheartedly. I feel it is one of the best that Jillian has produced in quite a while. Loved it!!.
