I liked the book a lot and, it was fun to read. He did a good job explaining every thing in the book. It very mysterious and very exciting. Scout and the captain were my favroit characters I love Scout😍. Thoe it's to bad that the burgalure was somebody you didn't know. I wish it was one of the characters that you would meet in the book. My favorite part was when the boys went to willows island and got locked in their own hut. The mystery was well thought out. When they found out how the flying phantom was walking on the swamp, that was really cool. The boys had great creative on willows island and of course when they played their games.

A nice little read. It was not written recently, and I enjoyed the little details that revealed this. For example, for these young boys, the Second World War is recent history, and in this book they are reunited with someone who came to their village and helped the resistance.
I appreciated the boys' resourcefulness in solving the mystery, and especially their high morals and obedience to their parents. My kids need to read this book! ;0
I actually didn't get to finish this book before we left for vacation, so I ended up reading it by the campfire. Nice! :o)
I am probably one of the few Reformed kids who never read the Scout books as a youngster! I'm sure I'd have given the books a 4 or 5 star rating as a kid. They were an enjoyable light read full of adventure and heroism (actually I listened to them on audio), but as an adult it's hard to not see flaws in storyline, believability etc.
