The third installment in a bold, new, action-packed historical western series by Max O'Hara featuring fearless railroad detective Wolf Stockburn.
Riding the rails across America's uncivilized and unpredictable western frontier requires true grit. For Wolf Stockburn, Railroad Detective, it takes a keen eye, quick draw, and dead aim to protect passengers from the most dangerous outlaws in the west--or avenge them...
WHEREVER HE RODE, HE LEFT BLOOD AND BODIES IN HIS WAKE
Red Miller is more than a thief and a killer. He robs banks and trains not just for the money, but to spit in the eye of every badge-toting lawman who dares enforce law and order. He surrounds himself with only the deadliest of desperadoes--and takes a perverse pleasure in deadly bloodshed.
Five of those people have banded together. They have all lost something to Red's murderous rampage. There is no place in America or Mexico where the bandit and his gang can hide from their vengeance. And they're led by Wolf Stockburn, Wells Fargo detective and a dead shot who knows that sometimes justice comes only from the barrels of smoking guns.
The third installment of the series is an excellent addition. When a truly evil bad guy shows up determined to not only steal, but to kill, the only solution is to send Wolf Stockburn to the rescue. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and voluntarily provided an honest review.
The series started very well, fleshing out Red and his job. This story is just silly and lots of descriptions are repetitive. “Fiery Chili Pepper” is just one overused example. Went from a fairly entertaining series to a dime novel.
a western full of blood, guts and glory. Wolf Stockburn joins efforts with a small posse of men who intend to bring down the toughest outlaw ever seen in this part of the country. Along the way, there are many gunfights where many will die. A good, not great addition to the series. Book #3 in the Wolf Stockbun series could have used a few more characters who didn't die.
Wolf Stockburn does it again in this wonderful Western yarn. Loved the characters and like in the previous two books the action is constantly in motion. Wolf Stockburn for president. Looking forward to seeing him in more adventures.
