Rate this book
An impending divorce. An ornery homicide detective. The cruise of a lifetime. And ghosts.
Midlife on the high seas is proving to be a real killer.
If I thought the first half of my life was a bumpy ride, I’d better buckle up because I’m about to go over the hill and off the rails.

My name is Trixie Troublefield, and I see ghosts. It’s sort of a new thing, and it’s more than a problem.

I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is my travel blog Suddenly Single! What a trip. Has taken off like gangbusters and I’ve inadvertently become the queen for an entire tribe of newly divorced women.

And even better than that? Handsome Ransom Baxter, the head of vessel security, is throwing out more than a few signs that he’s interested in me.

The bad news? My ex has booked a cabin on the very same ship and not only is he determined to win me back—he’s determined to make me jealous with some leggy blonde.

It’s going to be eighteen long nights to paradise and back before I can evict my ex out of my life once again—but a killer has different plans.

Is it bad that I’m rooting for the killer?

Midlife on the high seas is proving to be murder.

This book continues in the same vein as the previous book by being pure unadulterated fun. If you’re watching carefully, all of the clues for Trixie to solve the mystery are there, but I was so thoroughly distracted by everything else going on aboard the Emerald Queen that I never picked up on them until she was putting the puzzle together. I’m not a fan of love triangles, so that romantic aspect of the story isn’t my favorite. However, I’m very curious to see what else Trixie can get up to on the high seas, which means I’m already looking forward to the next book.

Mai Tai Murder Cruise is the second book in the Cruise Ship Cozy series by Addison Moore.

Not to worry, this fantastic book can be read as a stand alone story!

I absolutely LOVED this book. Trixie Troublefield is the main character who I absolutely LOVE. She is on the cruise ship as a crew member now and who show up but her ex, well soon to be EX! Can you believe that?

Add to that a murder on board oh and all the models on board and Trixie has her hands full.

Whoever said midlife was boring?

This was such a great story, I really love this new series and if you loved this book go back and read the first book you will LOVE that too1

Highly recommend !

Such a funny book

I thought I enjoyed the first book in this series. Boy, was I in for more laughs with this book! Trixie is such a fun character. And when you throw in the hilarious Bess & Nettie, you've got gold in the story department!

I enjoyed the first one in the series, but this one was a little too “ghosty”.

Cruise + hot male interest + fun banter + mystery YES PLEASE

I chose this book due to the synopsis catching my eye. It sounded like a fun read and it didn’t disappoint in any way. I am glad that I tried a new-to-me author. The banter among the shipmates and the patrons, those with a pulse and ghostly apparitions, kept me giggling and always had a smile on my face throughout the book.

If you have ever read the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich , Addison’s writing reminds me of that type of banter. You have the primary female character, Trixie Troublefield, who is setting out on a new adventure after finding her cheating husband in her house. She has caught the eye of more than one male on the cruise ship. She has recently been hired by the cruise ship. What a life! We meet the husband, Stanton Troublefield, who is trying to win his soon to be ex-wife back but bless him, he doesn’t know or care the way he thinks will win her back is definitely NOT the way to do so. Let’s not forget the captain, Weston (Wes) Crawford and Ransom Courtland Baxter. How to describe these two? Dreamy. OH! Let’s not forget the lovely ladies who give Trixie a run for her money. If only I could be like those two when I am their age.

I love that this book’s main characters are older. I feel like I could relate more age wise but even if you are not in Trixie’s age range, I would highly recommend this book. I didn’t read book one but I didn’t feel it was detrimental in my enjoyment or understanding the key players who were introduced in book 1.

Murder On Board . . .

Trixie Troublefield can see ghosts, which sometimes works for her and other times can be awkward. After catching her husband enjoying himself with several women, Trixie is divorced and now works as a crew member on a cruise ship going to amazing places. Her travel blog is successful and keeps her busy. She also has two men showing an interest in her! Life was almost perfect, until her ex-husband, Stanton Troublefield, came aboard. Although he was allegedly trying to convince her to come back to him, his method left much to be desired. With 50+ models on board, he kept very busy, and not in a way that would entice Trixie to ever trust him or foolishly return to him!

When a murder occurs on the ship, Trixie’s ex becomes the prime suspect. It would be nice to let him squirm, but she knows he is not a killer. How can she prove he didn’t commit the crime? With a little bit of help from the helpful ghost, Scarlett Skye, and sexy Ransom Baxter, the head of vessel security, she just might be able to figure out who the real murderer is!

So I haven't read book 1in the series, but you get plenty of background of what happened through well placed comments in the book so you can easily get good idea of what happened and how Trixie ending up living life on the high seas as well as having the Captain and the Detective vying for her attention. Alas for all concerned Trixie's douche canoe soon to be ex is on this cruise and causing mayhem not only by being a murder suspect but also vying for Trixie to come back to him then having bimbo's all over him. I loved how you are kept guessing who the killer is and why they did it as well as the fantastic location the cruise goes to, the ghosts that pop up and lets not forget the great characters like Nettie and Bess (oh and Scarlett) as well as the two dashing men who almost push and shove each other to get close to Trixie!!!
I can not wait for the next in the series to see what crazy antics everyone gets up to as well as where things go next for Trixie and her love life. .

This is the first book by Addison Moore that I've read.

Addison has a delightful talent for painting pictures that invites you to use your imagination to complete full picture.

The character are "characters". Bess and Nettie are seniors and comic relief. The detective, Ransom and Wes, the Captain become rivals.

Trixie's soon to be -ex shows up wanting Trixie to come back to him after being caught red-handed cheating.

He takes up with a model that turns up dead. He had the murder weapon in his hand.

Trixie can see Scarlett a ghost once associated with the dead model.

Nettie Bess and Trixie tour the Hawaiian Islands chasing the truth.

With Scarlett's help Trixie solves the murder and tackles the killer. Just as Ransom arrived to arrest the murderer. Not only was the modeling agency providing models but high priced call girls.

This book is appropriate for those19 and older. I think it would appeal to women more than men. It is written through the eyes of Trixie.

I thought this was a good read. There wasn't a lot (if any) foul language

Trixie is trying very hard to move on past her irritating ex and his many ego crushing manipulations and betrayals.

Stanton is making that really hard to do, since he also set sail with the Emerald Queen. Stubborn fool of a man, he seems determined to bed every willing model of yhe agency on board. An effort to make Trixie jealous? Who knows.

When Stanton finds himself tangled in a murder investigation, Trixie sticks her nose in. Jerk of an ex he might be, but he is also the father of her children.

Ransom and Captain Wes seem to be mostly keeping their distance, at least when they are not posturing for each other. Are they uninterested? Clueless? Inept with Trixie?

Dangers and a wild ghost are lurking. With dedicated friends and lots of chaos, a fun read as Trixie navigates the path to her next phase of life - maybe with romance on the horizon!

Trixie Troublefield has had enough trouble with her soon to be ex. With her kids grown and out of the house she has decided to join the Queen Emerald family and cruise around the world teaching art classes for a living. All seems to be well until her soon to be ex books a cruise on her new home ship to try and win her back. As if that's not bad enough there's been a murder on board and her soon to be ex is the prime suspect! Even though Trixe would love to get rid of him for good and sail the seas with her two hot new love interests, she knows he's no killer. Now she just has to figure out how to prove it. With a little help from her ghostly new friend and her hot detective "boyfriend" Trixie just may get to the bottom of it! I'm really enjoying this new series. Don't hesitate to jump on board and order this book!

This is my favorite new series by Addison Moore. Trixie, who has been a traditional housewife, found her life upside-down after an incident with her husband. She took a cruise and was asked to stay on for the next cruise as a crew member which she is thrilled about. Unfortunately, her husband shows up and goes on the cruise! He tells her he wants her back but spends most of his time with all the hot models on board, or are they models or something else? There's also danger on board. Trixie can't help but getting caught up in trying to solve the crime. You'll love this new book so don't hesitate to order it!. The story is captivating and it really transports the reader to the tropical islands, gifting few, priceless hours of light reading.
That said, this book is full of sexual innuendos worthy of a sailor, all out of the ladies mouth, while most of the male characters are much more on the gentleman side of life.
That, and the vulgarity of it all, write it off the list of "cozy" mysteries.
The mystery itself doesn't take central stage in the book, as everything is centred on the romance and the hots of the female characters.
The occasional religious hint doesn't outweigh the amount of slur on the page.
It is a well written book, with a good story, but barely a mystery.

Fabulous and fun story!!

Mai Tai Murder Cruise is the 2nd book in the Cruising Through Midlife series and Trixie and friends are ready to have a blast again until her ex shows up to try and win her back. Except his idea of winning her back is by sleeping with the other women on the ship... yes there are 50+ ladies in board from a modeling agency. Well one less after she is murdered... and her ex was left holding the scissors.

Trixie and her two would be suitors ramp up again... but while i don't root for the Baxter man in her Murder in the Mix series, i am definitely rooting for Ransom Baxter in this one!

This is a wonderful cozy mystery that makes you want to take your own cruise to Hawaii!!!

I received an ARC for my honest review!

Trixie is settling in but then her ex checks onto the ship and tries to win her back. Or is he just into being with all the models aboard? Boyfriend and head of ship security, Ransom and Trixie now have to figure out who the killer is onboard, as her ex is now a main suspect, along with the newest ghost attached to her. We get to visit with the two older ladies and various others from the first book, which I also totally enjoyed. The antics, banter and entertaining situations that happen will keep the pages turning and a smile permanently on your face. If you are looking for something that will take you away from a stressful day, this is it. Enjoy.

A romantic 18 day Hawaiian cruise, two handsome men vying for your attention, what could possibly go wrong? Well, if your name is Trixie Troublefield, a soon-to-be ex hopping aboard the cruise-ship, and a murder can definitely put a damper on things. Not to mention a large group of models that are on this particular cruise. These ladies are not shy about their intentions with the handsome eligible bachelors on the ship. Trixie will have to wear several hats to catch a killer, keep tabs on a spectre sent to help her, and reel in a man or two she has her eyes on. Will Trixie save the day, catch her man, and find a killer? Grab this great read today to find out!

While I am having trouble reading yet another book with a woman who is caught between two men I still enjoyed the book.
Trixie has her hands full with this cruise. With all the great things she has going on in her life she finds out that her ex-husband has decided to book himself on the cruise ship she is working on. He is wanting to win her back but he is going about it and so many wrong ways that he isn't winning any points to make her come back to him.

I have to say that I enjoyed the way the banter flowed with all of the characters in this book. That made it that much better for me.

Good fun!

Not only does Stanton, Trixie's slimy, cheating, soon-to-be ex join them on the Emerald Queen, but there is also a group of gorgeous "models". Stanton is found in Trixie's cabin, drunk and holding a blood pair of scissors along with one of the so called model's hacked off hair. Then Trixie finds the blonde model dead in the laundromat. Of course Trixie can no longer stay in her new cabin (with a balcony yet) and is invited by Ransome to stay in his suite with him. When a noose is left over the cabin door knob, she ends up in the captain's spare room. Some girls have all the luck. To Trixie's disappointment, both men are perfect gentlemen.

Cruising Hawaiian style!

Trixie, along with her two older but sprightly friends, Bess and Nettie, are on a Hawaiian cruise, unfortunately along with her randy and obnoxious almost-ex Stanton. It’s going to be a long 18 days! Trixie has a newly discovered gift of being able to see and hear ghosts and finds one on board named Scarlett Skye, an intriguing woman dresses in a sparkly gown. With two men vying for her attention and Stanton a possible murder suspect, this will be an interesting cruise for sure! Not quite as good as book 1 of the series, but not too bad. The Captain helps Trixie work on the case, which is something he should be against. But, when she tells him that Ransom doesn’t want her to work on it -because she could be putting herself in danger- suddenly my the Captain is willing to help her. His rivalry with Ransom outweighed his sense of protection.
Also, In book 1, either Ransom or the captain told Trixie that their next cruise would be to Alaska. In this book, as well as the next, they go back to Hawaii. So, there are some editing errors with facts, as well as a few grammatical & punctuation. Over all the book was okay.

Trixie and her friends are travelling the high seas… this time with a trip to Hawaii. It won’t be smooth sailing though as her soon-to-be ex will be on board as well! When a fellow guest is found murdered and her ex is fingered for the crime, Trixie can’t help but wonder if this is someone else’s doing.

I loved the first book in this series so much! I’ve never been on a cruise and am living the cruising life through cozy mysteries and it’s so much fun!

This one was full of delicious drama and fun adventures and I loved it. Especially the crossover with the Murder in the Mix mysteries. The next book is set in Honey Hollow itself, so I think more shenanigans is coming Trixie’s way!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is so well written that as i am reading I see and hear the story playing out in my head. I sometimes wish that I was the main character Trixie and two men were fighting over me, in front of my ex husband. However, I think that is the thing that dreams are made of.

I recommend this book, it does help to have read the first book in the series. I can't wait to read the next one.

Mai Tai Murder Cruise is book #2 in the Cruising Through Midlife: Cruise Ship Cozy Mysteries series by Addison Moore.

Trixie Troublefield writes a travel blog and teaches art on a cruise ship. She also sees ghosts and has the ship’s captain and detective after her.

This was an OK read for me. The whole Wes and Ransom back and forth and the worrying about what was up with her soon-to-be ex-husband and the models wasn’t interesting to me.

Thank you to the author and Booksprout for the copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Trixie's can now see ghosts. This is very new to her and it's very disconcerting. The good thing about this
is it gives her a lot of information for her travel blog which is now very popular. Also her and her new friend,
the security guy from the cruise she is on, are having a great time. Sadly her ex is on the same cruise and he's
brought a cute new friend of his own. Now toss in a dead body. What else can go wrong? Will she be able to find
the killer before anything else go wrong?.

Intriguing and suspenseful mystery!

Great story with wonderful characters and beautiful setting! Addison Moore takes the reader on a journey on a cruise ship around the Hawaiian Islands. There are plenty of twists and turns and surprises that keep the reader's attention to see what will happen next. There is romance also brewing between Trixie and the Captain and Trixie and the detective. You must read this book to find out who the killer was and who gets Trixie. Happy reading! ☺️

Mai Tai Murder Cruise is book two in the Cruising Through Midlife series and I am loving this series. I absolutely love Trixie and how she handled her ex-husband who was trying to win her back in a crazy way. This is a well written murder mystery with fun characters, ghosts, ex-drama, double love suitors, paranormal twists, and a page turning read that held my attention until the last page. Fun, Tropical Murder Mystery
This is definitely a page turner! It was so much fun to read! I laughed all the way through it. The characters are great and relatable. The setting is tropical. Trixie has two hot men trying to woo her. Plus Trixie’s soon-to-be-ex-husband continues to be a thorn in her side, and he has a “strange” way of trying to win her back. I also enjoyed trying to guess who the murderer was. This book is a “must read.”

The extreme horniness of every female character is getting old. By every, I mean the main character, old ladies, and even ghosts. I quit reading another series by this author for the same reason. At first it was kind of fun, but now it just seems annoying as I find myself constantly eye rolling. Maybe if it wasn't classified as a cozy, I don't know. Too bad, it's a good storyline and doesn't need all the tacky sex craved banter.

Cute and entertaining. I enjoyed this visit on the Emerald Queen with Trixie and her friends but found so many things unbelievable. I am all for creative license, to an extent, but the set up for the next book really bothered me. Ditto for love triangles, although that seems to be getting resolved as the series continues. Otherwise, the mystery was interesting and the paranormal aspect works in a strange way. I will probably continue with the series.

There is nothing i like better than a woman with intelligence, common sense, and loyalty, but one has to earn those attributes. The main character has those qualities over and above the norm. My ONLY complaint is too much snark in the story, although the ex-husband deserves all of it and more. The plot is easily followed and the premise is finding out who killed the main female in the visiting modeling agency and why. The answers were again sad, but not warranted. I do recommend this book.
