QUE BONITOOO!!💞❤️🫰🫶
”But somehow, you broke through. And I want you to know that even if it is too late you'll stay there. I'll keep you in my heart forever."

Fauxmance was absolutely adorable and so much fun! With laugh out loud and sigh worthy moments, this heartwarming story became a quick favorite! And with a fun and flirty vibe, this was YA at its best! If you're looking for a young adult romance that will keep you smiling and laughing, you definitely need this book in your life!
"Let me prove it to you."
My brows pinched together. "How are you going to do that?"
"I'm going to kiss you," he said.
Anything I was about to say left me. My brain went totally blank. What were words again?
"If you still think kissing's overrated after that, okay. I'll retire my player card for good." Hayden's eyes went to my lips, and they tingled in response. "That won't happen, though."
I swallowed to clear my throat. "How can you be sure?"
"Because I'm going to do my best to please you."

After Magnolia got dumped by her longtime boyfriend, the day before her sister's wedding, she was lost without an escort. And her sister was a stickler for how she wanted her wedding to run. Thankfully fate intervened and Magnolia found herself stuck in an elevator with Hayden. And while there was definitely a connection, and lots of chemistry with a swoon worthy kiss, Hayden was completely against weddings. Except Hayden needed to prove he was no longer a player and Magnolia desperately needed a date. What could be the harm of fake dating each other to get what they both wanted?
As he leaned back, Hayden gave me a soft smile. "Don't sound so worried. I'm going to be the perfect fake boyfriend."
I didn't tell him then— but that was exactly what I was worried about.

You will passionately fall in love with Hayden! He was beyond sigh worthy. With a bad boy, cynical vibe, I loved his cocky ways! But he could also make me laugh so hard. Messing up names, comparing Magnolia to his grandma, honestly there was so much uniqueness to Hayden that I loved learning everything there was about him! Especially his sweet side, like how he would stand up for Magnolia or say wonderful things about her. He could be such a good guy. Cookie O'Gorman created another book boyfriend that I was completely obsessed with!
"I couldn't stop thinking about you," he said, and my heart tried to escape my chest— right up until he added, "Your strange fear of peeps and how you refuse to eat without a napkin really made an impression."
"Ha ha," I said.

I loved Magnolia with my whole heart! She was definitely someone you would want to be bff with. She was so honest, but at the same time she cracked me up. With always having her sister's back and her heartfelt dreams of being a bridesmaid, Magnolia was so adorable! I loved the relationship she had with her mom, I loved that she went to therapy and I loved what a good, kindhearted person she was! So watching how far she grew from that first page to the last warmed my heart!
I caught myself staring at Hayden's hands as he drove— the same hands that had gripped my waist and tucked my hair behind my ear. My gaze moved to his lips, and I shivered. I could still feel the imprint of them on my skin.

Magnolia and Hayden were definitely opposites in quite a few ways. I loved how she tried her best to be positive whereas Hayden no problems putting it all out there and being realistic. But their interactions together had me laughing so hard at times I couldn't breathe. So with gestures that were smile inducing, second hand embarrassment that made you feel everything, and moments that will make you gasp out loud, this is the type of book that you can easily devour in one sitting! And with fake dating laced throughout the pages, just try your hardest not to smile from beginning to end!
But what if it could've been more? my mind whispered.
Shaking the thought off, I got back to work.

Fauxmance was swoon worthy, giggle inducing and impossible to put down! I literally squeaked, gasped, laughed and screamed out loud while reading this story. It was entertaining, captivating and the epilogue was the cutest! If you adore young adult romance, or the fake dating trope, you definitely need to meet Magnolia and Hayden!

[Highlights: fake dating, weddings, elevator meet-cute, flat characters, rich people, predictable plot twists]

The acknowledgements were so cute and honestly make me sad to have to say this book kind of sucked like a vacuum. The characters were flat and the plot twists weren't twisty enough. All these things I could've dealt with but the writing just REALLY was not for me.

Hayden was attractive but in what was probably the most artificial way I've ever seen a book boyfriend (he ain't getting added to my list fyi) described. If he wasn't some rockstar who had a couple good jokes and a guitar solo in him I have no doubt this book would've only gotten a one-star out of me. Like, I'm sure if I met him in real-life he'd give me a butterfly or two, but Magnolia was into him way too quickly. (PS. They were having way too much fun in that stuck elevator! I am deathly claustrophobic and I can't say flirting would be my first priority.)

The grace of the beatles and smiths references are the only thing that gave it a bonus star.

Magnolia was bland and a little naïve, in all honesty, and her interests were thrown in randomly. (watching bridgerton 👀, reading, etc.)

This book had such a fun plot idea to it and caught my eye really quickly but, once I read it, I couldn't say I was in love.

"It's okay. You're with me now. I'll protect your heart."
- Magnolia, Fauxmance by Cookie O'Gorman

When I read the premise of this book, I knew it would be right up my alley. Fake-dating between a sarcastic, cocky, player-but-not-really male protagonist and a hopeless romantic? It's a trope that never gets old. The thing with Cookie's writing is that she manages to write characters and pace the story so well that makes you feel as if you've known the characters forever. She writes the innocence of romance at its purest and I absolutely love it. Also very thankful that this book got me out of a week-long reading slump.

The characters in this book were my absolute favourite! Hayden's mother, his grandmother, Magnolia's mother AND Hayden's bandmates as well as the bridesmaids are the side characters I'm sure you all will love. I love the very supportive atmosphere that these side characters provide to the main ones and I adore how it was her grandmother that gave that little push to ensure the happiness of her grandson. Hayden is a character I know everyone will love by default. It's the red lobster in him ;). He's that male protagonist that believes he has no heart and isn't deserving of love but ends up feeling the most.

I loved the elevator scene, Smiths and music aspect put into this book. It gives these characters a more homey feel and I cannot express how much I would recommend this book to you all :))

Thank you to the author, Cookie O' Gorman, for providing me with this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I really enjoyed this newest fake dating romance from Cookie O'gorman! She's one of my favorite authors.
.
If you're looking for a sweet romance to help you see the good in the world again, Magnolia and Hayden are here to help.
.
My only issue with this book is that I wish the characters were older. There was a lot of angst and drama and world-weary attitude for such young characters.

Fake dating/ real feelings are prohibited
Sizzling chemistry
love interest snarky/sarcastic musician
stuck in elevator
TOP notch banter

Magnolia is obsessed with weddings, HEA, and true love. Only to be dumped by her long term boyfriend, then night before her sisters wedding. Maggie is scrambling trying to find a new escort because her sister refuses to let anyone walk alone (Bridezilla anyone?)

Magnolia happens to run into how else but the cocky, sarcastic, and not to mention HOT Hayden. Thinking he would be the perfect last minute escort. Hayden hates weddings, and doesn’t believe in love anymore.

One trapped in an elevator scene later, and a super steamy kiss, they hatch a plan for fake dating. The main rule? Nobody catches feelings, this is all pretend. Easier said than done.

My love for fake dating books is unmatched, it’s literally my favorite trope. When I say I’m obsessed with this book, I’m not kidding it’s probably my favorite fake dating book to date. The chemistry between the two is perfect. There’s a twist I DID NOT SEE COMING. It’s sweet , romantic, and laugh out loud hilarious. I’m gonna have to snag myself a copy of this one! It’s a must read for any YA romance, Fake dating trope loving reader. Also Hayden is DEFINITELY a Red Lobster.

I’m so grateful to have been able to ARC read this for an honest review.

Fake romance is one of my absolute favorite tropes and Cookie O'Gorman always pulls it off magnificently.

I adore O'Gorman's writing style because it is so relatable. I always feel a strong connection to the characters that propel me through the story effortlessly. The plot of the story unfolded quite well and I loved the execution of ideas. I did feel like there could have been more conflict in the story though. The world-building was minuscule since this is a contemporary story. The story was mostly character driven.

I really liked both main characters. Magnolia and Hayden were such delights! I felt like Magnolia could have used a little more character development. We get to see what she is passionate about but she still felt a little flat to me in some respects. I did love that she was a character that knew her worth and wouldn't settle for less. She was also well-spoken and informed. There was actually a lot to like about her and I really admired her character. Hayden was a mysterious sort of character at first. We know that something happened in his past that made him close himself off from love so we know there is some past trauma. Hayden was passionate about his music and his band and wanted to do well. He was a gentleman, funny, and all-around charming. I think that both main characters experienced nice character growth in the story. Magnolia's growth came early on in the story when she became more self-aware after certain events take place. Hayden's growth is evident at the end of the story after he realizes what his heart was really telling him. Both characters felt very realistic and genuine. I also really loved the side characters in this book. They were all incredible and unique. I would really love to see some of them in their own stories. Especially Hayden's band.

The romance was simply quite adorable. I loved how comfortable Hayden and Magnolia always felt with each other. Even when they first met there was a feeling of ease between them. Their chemistry was taut with attraction from the start. Their relationship developed very naturally and I loved that.

Overall, this was another fantastic fake romance from Cookie O'Gorman! I can't stress enough how much I love this author's books! If you enjoy witty and romantic young adult stories with lovable and memorable characters then you'll want to pick this one up!

I read ~60% but I’m bowing out.

Poor writing, stilted conversations, overkill acting, and a terrible first impression for the hero (he flaunts his past as a player and I was offended on behalf of the heroine that she was made out to be a dime a dozen).

Terrible first impression case in point. He thoughtfully puts his arm around her in the elevator to keep her warm and then ruins the sentiment immediately with:

"I am a player, Magnolia. Do you know how many girls I've pulled that move on? The arm over the shoulder? Too many to count."

Gee, thanks.

He tells her “I’m a player” repeatedly and that he’s kissed a bajillion girls- “I’m a VERY good kisser” - and then after their moment in that elevator, he drives off without asking for her number. Sending big vibes of “you mean nothing to me.”

It took some time for me to like him, which was around the 60% mark. He still pushes the “cocky” envelope to “arrogant,” jumping at any chance to joke about how incredible he is, which is annoying. But he isn’t a jerk anymore.

I still ended up quitting due to the juvenile, awkward writing.

There are plenty of readers who like this, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

What I liked: the elevator kiss was pretty amazing!

Fauxmance falls somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars for me. As always, I enjoyed Cookie O'Gorman's writing and characters. This was a fun, sweet, and innocent fake dating romance. There was just one thing that kind of threw me off: the age of the characters. Magnolia was 18. Hayden was 19. Some of the other characters who were their friends and family friends were even older, probably early 20's. Some of the situations, especially with Hayden, felt more fit for someone just a little older. It wasn't a big deal, but it was in the back of my mind the entire time I was reading. I was just thinking the story might have been a little more impactful or felt truer if Magnolia and Hayden were a couple of years older. That's just my opinion, though. It doesn't really take much away from the entertaining and adorable fake to real romance.

Super cute!!

I didn’t realize this was YA going into it, so throughout I sort of pictured everyone older than what they were. 😂 I actually, think it would have been a tad better if Maggie was in college, instead of finishing high school. With everything going on and how mature they were, it just made more sense.

Anyway, loved the meet cute and fun chemistry between Hayden and Maggie. Sweet & swoony moments throughout. Good pacing and fun storyline. I think if they were older it would have been a full five stars for me. I hope the rest of Hayden’s band get their own books because I’d love to read more!

Content Rated PG
Kissing, mild language throughout (could have done without that)

2.5 Stars. First, let me say that I'm not the target audience for this book. While there is plenty of YA that I have found very enjoyable, I felt way too old for this one. I found the characters very unrealistic and thought everything was pretty cheesy. There were a few cute moments here and there, but overall, it definitely wasn't for me.

4.25/5 stars!

"It's okay. You're with me now. I'll protect your heart."

This book contains: napkins, peeps, handkerchiefs, motorcycles, red dresses, disguises, elevators, soup kitchen, wedding cake, escorts and the fake dating trope.

Another great cutesy YA romance from Cookie O’Gorman!
Once again, I fell in love with the story and the characters. But is anyone really surprised by now? I really liked the romance and the characters in this book: the bad boy vibe from Hayden combined with Magnolia’s sweet personality made my little heart flutter! They had great chemistry and brought life to the book.
Not only the main characters were captivating, but I also loved the side characters as well. Especially the other guys from the band and Hayden’s grandmother.
One of my favorite things about this book is definitely the way Magnolia and Hayden met for the first time: by being stuck in an elevator together. It was everything my romantic heart could have hoped for!
If you like wedding themed books, you should give this one a try. A big part of this book talks about weddings, which I personally don’t love or hate as a theme. It’s just not my go to scenario when it comes to books, but I didn’t mind it as well.
Once again, I applaud the writing because it made the story flow easily and it made the reading experience fun and captivating the entire time. This is a very easy book to read, with simple language and fast pacing. I would recommend this author’s books for the younger audience (teenagers and pre-teens).
I had a lot of fun reading this! It was a nice, feel-good YA romance, and I’m sure I’ll pick up more from this author soon.

A story that will have you laughing out loud, feeling all warm and fuzzy, and going "damn, that was deep"! There were so many things I loved about this book like my kindle is FILLED with all kinds of notes and highlights! 😄 I particularly liked the fact that it's the guy wanting to do the fake dating than the girl like 👍🏾! And oh my god, Hayden is the absolute cutest! 😍 He's over here like " I'm not good" or something like that and then he goes and does such a good deed "like bro you're a good person"! And Magnolia is such a BADASS! Like there is a scene where Magnolia just whips out a knife out of her purse, like DAMN! Make sure to check out this book on April 28, 2022!!!

This is another sweet little cinnamon roll romance from Cookie. There are less pop culture references in this one, only a few scattered music references. I have no problem either way, but I know they can put people off (so if that’s the only thing stopping you, you’re safe to go ahead).
Magnolia is obsessed with weddings and lands the role of a lifetime: maid of honour at her sister’s wedding. Only her boyfriend and fellow groomsman dumps her the day before. She takes her role very seriously, along with her southern manners, and is always polite and sweet, even when being dumped.
But then she gets trapped in an elevator for a few hours with a hot guy, and figures if she’s about to die she needs to get some things off her chest first.
And Hayden happens to be there.

I loved the MC’s name. Magnolia Wilhelmina conjures all sorts of sunshine and pearl clutching. She’s one of those wholesome dream girls who’s always supportive and looking on the bright side. Such a sweetheart. When the MC is such a genuinely nice person you can’t help but root for their happy ending.
The cover does not match Maggie at all though. She’s meant to be plus sized and scared of motorcycles, and she’s pretty teeny and leather jacketed up on the front. And they only agree to fake date 45% into the book. When it’s the title I was expecting it to be hashed out a little earlier. But… it didn’t go as I expected. I know! Fake dating and there was a trick up someone’s sleeve so it wasn’t just the same old story.

I will admit you have to ignore the parts that seem very fake and a bit much, like a bunch of the coincidences and that all the side characters have amazing banter. And just go with it. It will sound very unrealistic in the beginning but the rest is so fun that is worth it.

It’s a pretty solid fake romance book! In terms of that is actually one of the best of I have read. It’s not too heavy and there is no harsh line between the fake and the real moments!

Entertaining, G-rated, YA romantic comedy, with a terrific Meet Cute in a stalled elevator

The day before 18-year-old Magnolia's sister Jasmine's wedding, out of the blue, her boyfriend Sean dumps her. Magnolia is devastated, not only because he is as callously casual about ending their seven-year romance as if he were merely mentioning he can't join her for lunch. He doesn't care at all that he has a crucial role to play in the wedding, and there is no time for Magnolia to find a replacement.

The only saving grace of the particular moment Sean has chosen to reject her is that it is the same day that Magnolia has had a weekly therapist appointment, for the entire eight years since her beloved father died of cancer. Unfortunately, on arriving at the door to her therapist's office, Magnolia is massively distressed to discover that her therapist has been called away on an emergency, and is not available. On her way out of the building, due to a power outage, Magnolia ends up stuck in the elevator with a handsome, 19-year-old boy named Hayden. During the hours they are trapped together in the dark, with only the ever dimming flashlights on their cell phones to provide illumination, Magnolia fearfully decides that this might be her last day on Earth, and instinctively treats Hayden as if he were a cross between a therapist and a priest, confiding in him her deepest secrets.

I had a lot of fun with this adorable romantic comedy. One of my favorite Meet Cutes is a stalled elevator. It's not very common, and the few times I've seen it used, it hasn't always been done well, but it definitely is here.

This is a G-rated, YA novel that is suitable for all ages. There is no foul language, no wild parties, and no sensual activity beyond kisses. However, there is plenty of vibrant, emotional chemistry between Magnolia and Hayden.

Though this novel and the author's most recent YA release, "Introvert," are not listed by the publisher as being part of the same series, Hayden is a significant subcharacter in that novel.

“Fauxmance” by Cookie O’Gorman is a MUST read! Cookie O’Gorman has quickly become one of my favorite authors, and I can honestly say she will not disappoint with her stories. This was such a fun read! My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. I absolutely loved the characters and fell in love with Hayden before I even knew his name 😂. “Fauxmance” is the perfect mixture of sweet, funny, and romantic with such a swoon-worthy love interest. If you are looking for a new book to read I cannot express how strongly I recommend this book (especially if your looking for a new book boyfriend)!

“Fauxmance” follows Magnolia after her boyfriend dumps her the day before her sisters wedding. Magnolia is her sister’s made of honor and Magnolia’s sister insists that each of her bridesmaids must have an escort. After Magnolia gets stuck in an elevator with a handsome stranger named Hayden, she thinks the cards are in her favor and she can ask him to be her date. The only problem is that Hayden hates weddings. However, Hayden needs to prove that he has changed his playboy ways. So with Magnolia needing a date and Hayden needing to show he can be in a mature relationship, a fauxmance ensues. Will Hayden and Magnolia be able to keep up their facade as boyfriend and girlfriend without catching actual feelings? Find out in Cookie O’Gorman’s “Fauxmance”.

Fauxmance is a young adult contemporary romance by Cookie O’Gorman. Fauxmance was wonderfully fun read. Once I picked this book, I simply could not put it down. Cookie O’ Gorman writes the cutest romances with characters that you cannot help but fall in love with and root for.

In Fauxmance we meet our main characters, Magnolia and Hayden. Magnolia is adorable. She is polite, opinionated and completely and un-apologetically true to herself. So when her jerk of a boyfriend broke up with her and blindsided her not only with the breakup but with the double whammy that he was seeing someone else, all one day before her sister’s wedding, I was heartbroken for her. So when she met the hot and totally sweet Hayden in an elevator later that same day, I instantly fell for him. I have no idea why Hayden has such a bad rep, because from the very moment he met Maggie, he was an absolute sweet heart. He is the stuff book boyfriends are made of.

Their story will put a perma-smile on your face. I was utterly charmed by both of them and I loved Fauxmance so much. It might be my very favorite Cookie O’ Gorman book yet, which is a saying a lot because I have loved so many of her other books. If you are a fan of contemporary romances of any age, you need to check out Fauxmance. You will love it.

**I received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest voluntary review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**

This was so great! It might just be m my new favourite Cookie O'Gorman book?

I loved the fun plot line. I've read many fake romance novels but I enjoyed the "be my fake wedding date" scenario. There were also quite a few twists I didn't see coming that had me going "oh, that's a good spin!". I was thoroughly entertained reading this!

I think Hayden is my new book boyfriend. Cookie has a great talent for writing swoon worthy book boyfriends but also making them believable as well. It gives me hope that my Hayden is out there somewhere and is just as wonderful as the book version is.

Magnolia was a fantastic lead. I loved her confidence. She reminded me that being a strong heroine doesn't mean that nothing ever bothers you or gets you down. It also means that you can show your vulnerability and I think Magnolia had a great balance of that.

The rest of the cast was a blast! I know I would definitely read more books about Hayden's bandmates!

Cookie O'Gorman is my go-to author for feel-good, purely entertaining novels and this one hit that right out of the park!

I read an ARC of this book and it is amazing. In the first couple of pages Maggie gets dumped by her tool of a boyfriend the day before her sister's wedding. Not a game changer you would think, but Maggie is maid of honour and the now ex had promised to stand in for the best man who flaked. She then goes to see her therapist who has had a family emergency and gets stuck in a lift with a guy who is also looking for the therapist. On the way back down the lift gets stuck and as a result Maggie meets Hayden. She basically uses the lift being stuck as a excuse to bear her entire soul to this strange boy, thinking he is in therapy too. This all happens in the first couple of chapters, yet the story keeps its momentum brilliantly and doesn't feel slow at any point! Maggie asks Hayden if he knows of anyone who would be a date for her and he tells her no, he doesn't do weddings and his bandmates all hate them(which turns out a total lie!)
The next day is the wedding and at the start of the procession Maggie is refused entry because she doesn't have a partner and Bridezilla has nothing on her sister. It looks like it is all going to hell in a handcart until Hayden shows up. Unfortunately it turns out that his gran is a guest too and so they end up lying to both families about being in a relationship, or fauxmance. The only person to know the truth is Maggie's therapist.(prepare for a big reveal in the story there too!)
The storyline is fabulous and despite this being the fifth of sixth book I have read like this recently it felt fresh and new. Cookie O'Gorman has really outdone herself. It is a fabulous book and well worth a read. I love the character development and how Hayden reminds me a lot of the friends I went to school with and how they didnt want to follow in family footsteps although none were quite as extreme as Hayden I love how he develops and how it is clear to everyone but Maggie and Hayden how he feels. Definitely worth a read and I hope, like Cookie O Gorman's last fake relationship story, we get to hear more about them in books to come!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I loved it

I love Cookie's books. From the first interaction to their final kiss. The relationships feel authentic, the character growth legitimate.
I loved how Hayden brought Magnolia out of her shell a little. He encouraged her to be strong without actually telling her to be. He just helped her realize she was worth it. The band mates were such good side characters. Constance is a wonderful grandma and I love every scene with her in it.
But most of all, I love how Magnolia brought out the best in every person she was around. (Except maybe Sean haha)
Overall, I highly recommend it. If you like fake relationships, bands, elevators, weddings and great kisses, add this book to your TBR now.

Another wonderful book from Cookie O'Gorman! I have read and enjoyed a number of her books, so I knew I would pick this one up. Once I read the blurb, though, I knew I was going to love it.

Maggie and Hayden had great chemistry and it was easy to see their relationship wouldn't stay fake for long. It was fun watching the two of them work through everything to get their HEA.

The fake dating and opposites attract tropes combined with great characters made this a sweet, fun, and entertaining read. There are lots of swoony moments, plenty of humor, and an elevator kiss that was the perfect moment.

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

I loved this book, I have to say. I read it in like a day. I’ve read many fake relationship books and I don’t even know what it was specifically, but this was honestly one of my favorites. I just thought it was such a good mix of sweet, but with that obvious chemistry mixed in. There was also just a good amount of humor and light hearted moments in the book. I loved both main characters but pretty much all of the supporting characters as well.

All in all, I loved it and will reread in the future.

good read

The ex was a total jerk how are you friends and date that long and do her how he did. His ex was no better his whole family except maybe three people weren’t jerks .
