Slowly making my way through this series in between longer books and this was so fun! I was cracking up because even though I knew the end I still gasped over the twist. 🌕🐺✨
This an another adventure-thrilling book by R.L. STINE. In this book, the story is about were wolfs, a scary swamp hermit, a deadly swamp, a peat bog and more. The story starts when Grady's family move's into a new neighbourhood. There they hear the stories of Werewolfs living in the swamp next to their house. So, Grady decides to go inside the swamp to check it out.
But he gets so much frights that he's convinced that a Werewolf actually lives in the swamp, and to top it of, the scary swamp hermit is always scaring him nonstop and pretending to be the Werewolf.
Then he finds a dog on their doorstep and keeps him but this dog is very different than other dogs, he howls at the moon and disappears at midnight. Grady's family is convinced that this dog is a wolf breed and is a wolf. Slowly after the dog came, mysterious things started happening, like teared-up wild animals shredded to pieces and disappearing people.
Everyone is convinced it's Grady's new dog, since his behaviour is just like a wolf. But Grady doesn't believe his dog is a wolf, since this dog protected him from the scary swamp hermit, and is very loyal to Grady.
Then his father tells him he can't keep the dog Wolf anymore. So Grady urgently tells wolf to run away since Grady loves wolf very much. Then the next night, Grady goes outside, to find Wolf outside standing there, lumbering in the direction of the swamp. Suddenly someone startles him. Grady turns to see one of his friends, Will. He says he's investigating the mystery of howling at night. Then he tells Grady to come over and see if the howling is coming from the swamp. When they get there, they start walking over to the middle of the swamp, when suddenly a Werewolf attacks Grady.
The Werewolf starts growling and biting when Grady recognizes his face, it's Will!!!
Just then Wolf appears, growling at Will, they fight, fight and Wolf wins!!!
But then there's an another twist!!! Grady is now the Werewolf!!!!! Yes, when Will bit Grady, he passed down the curse!!!
This book is the exact type of book that will surely give you goosebumps and making you want to read every book in the series!!!
Goosebumps is an amazing series with spine-tickling stories which will make you rate this series with five gigantic stars!!! I rate this book with five Humongous Werewolf stars!! Congrats!!!!
Continuing the the Goosebumps series with the kids; here are their reviews:
Malcolm: I think the creepiest word was "stab." And I also like the word "sarcastically" and "frantically" and the word "frantic" because they're fun words to say. And my favorite chapters were probably when the first time they went to the swamp (maybe chapter 2 or 1) and the scariest chapter, which I don't know which that is.
Rose: I really liked all of it, even when he found out who was the wolf. I also liked when something stepped closer to him, and I liked all of the rest of it. My favorite chapters were really all of them - I liked the whole book.
I found this in a little library a couple weeks ago and decided I needed to read it. I loved reading these books as a kid, so it was a fun trip down memory lane. This was a fun story. I couldn’t imagine living next to a creepy swamp with a history that included a swamp hermit. Grady and his family were fun and the ending was a bit of s surprise. Overall, a fun middle grade read.
This is the most GOAT-ed Goosebumps book ever! Grady and Wolf vs. Werewolf is so cool! Be ready for animal violence (not as much as Prey). And...there's a swamp hermit. Grady becomes a werewolf and he goes hunting with Wolf, his dog.
A quick and easy audiobook for in between books. While a little slow to get to the plot, The Werewolf of Fever Swamp had a fun, creepy ending. The parents continue to be the absolute worst throughout these books, though.
