She ll do whatever it takes to get to the top of the professor s learning curve.

Katrina Keens has discovered the man she longs for, Professor Derek Jacobson, is a Dom. Though BDSM is something she s never tried, the idea of submitting to Derek is darkly arousing. All she needs is one chance to slip past the strict student-professor boundary he has been unwilling to breach.

And now that opportunity has come, a way to show Derek that she can be the woman he needs. Without waiting for his permission.

Unaware of her identity at a masked sex party, he offers Katrina everything she s dreamed of to be her master for the night, teasing her with a promise of intensely arousing discipline and praise.

Only Derek is a demanding master. Learning to serve his needs is a ruthless lesson in pleasure she won t soon forget."

This was not one of those dark or deeply physchological BDSM tales. Nor was it a particularly long story, but it felt like the exact length it should be. Tamed is not likely to win any literary awards, though it was very well written. In the end, this was one of the most satisfying BDSM encounters between a man and a woman that I've read. Somewhat predictable but very creative and erotic at the same time.

This is a story of a young woman who did something desperate to have a single night with a man she has loved for some time as they worked together, but he has kept her at arms length. Derek had insisted he and Katrina keep their relationship professional though she was certain he felt the sexual tension between them as sharply as she did.

One night at a BDSM party with Katrina in disguise could change everything.

This story may be a simple one, but I've rated this book purely on my enjoyment level and the smile on my face as I closed the ebook. I will be searching out more stories by Lynn Maris to lighten my mood after something darker and heavier.

A quick hot read. I'll add a better review when I've cooled down a bit.

The moment they met, Katrina Keats fell fast and hard for Professor Derek Jacobson. Unfortunately for her, she was an undergraduate student at the time. Though she’s now Derek’s teaching assistant and part of his research team, Derek seems determined to keep a professional distance between the two of them. Yet underneath his professorial demeanor, Katrina can see his desire for her.

An unexpected turn of events leads Katrina to the discovery that the man of her dreams is a Dom. Aroused by the prospect of submitting to Derek and showing him that she is the woman he needs, Katrina takes advantage of an opportunity to attend an exclusive Halloween night masked sex party. Disguising herself as “Kitty,” Katrina catches Derek’s eye at the gathering. Will Katrina’s gamble pay off and a night of wicked passion lead to the happily ever after she’s always dreamed of? Or when all is revealed will she lose the trust of the man she loves?

Every once in a while I come across a story that is nothing less than pure pleasure to read. Tamed is such a book for me. It’s a dynamite package of sizzling-hot eroticism and tender romance that grabbed me from the start and didn’t let go.

What I love about the story is that there is an innate sense of kindness about its hero and heroine. While I suppose it’s not strictly relevant to the story, Katrina and Derek’s “goodness,” their likeability and honorable personalities (despite, or perhaps because of, their humanizing flaws) made me connect with them. I was enraptured by Tamed because I wanted Derek and Katrina to overcome the obstacles keeping them apart. Each of them became real to me in a sense, making their story an unforgettable read.

It’s also impossible to write about Tamed without mentioning the love scenes. Lynne Maris definitely knows how to heat up the page! Yet while the book and its characters are sexy as all getout, I was impressed by the way Ms. Maris seamlessly weaved in Katrina’s character development through her sexual submission to Derek. Though at the outset her primary goal in submitting to Derek is to prove she can be what he needs, as the night goes on, Katrina learns more about herself and what she truly needs and desires. Her doing so adds dimensions to their relationship, making it feel more equal and emphasizing how right Katrina and Derek are for one another.

Put simply, I loved this book. The characters are memorable and endearing, the story supremely sensual, and the romance utterly beautiful. Lynne Maris has a new fan in me; I look forward to reading much more of her work. Captivatingly erotic, Tamed is sure to please.

When I saw this book on amazon I was like I have to have to read this lol.. Oh My Goodness I Was so right about it, I Loved it the book and the writing and how the BDSM was in this book. The Professor Derek Jacobson is A Dom in his personal life and His TA Kat has been inlove with him since she was a soph more in college and no matter how she tries to hide her feelings for him she asked him out for Dinner but he refuses but when her best friend tells her that he is a Dom and he doesnt have a Sub and usually doesnt settle for anyone.Trista her best friend and another Dom helps her understand the d/s world and ends up going to a Halloween party disguised as a cat and changes her eye color to help hide her idenity. Her friend tells Derek she has a sub he might be interested in and he should come to the party.when he shows up he is drawn to her not knowning its her but he knows he only feels that way about one other person could it be his Kat? lol
well you have to read the play they share and how he tames her and brings her to new height in her sex life and at the end of the play he wants her to take out the contacts to see her eyes but she gives the safeword and he leaves . In the end he knows its her and wonders why she ended it. they find out they do care for each other and love each other and love to play.

I like my books long with in-depth character development so I am always a bit frustrated with novellas & short stories. I found this book more frustrating than normal because you had to suspend your incredulity too much. I found it unlikely that someone who couldn't articulate their attraction after years of working together would be able to find the balls necessary to perform sexually in such an unsafe & public venue. I also find it difficult to believe that a mask would make someone anonymous enough to be unknown during an intense sexual encounter. I wanted to enjoy the book because the Alpha male Derek was hot but I just couldn't stop rolling my eyes at the implausibility. Having said that, the story was well written grammatically. The sex scenes were great. The characters were very likeable. If you don't mind the fairy-tale-like storyline then this is an enjoyable little read.

I was really excited about this read as it incorporates several things I find super sexy (BDSM, teacher-student, male dom, etc). I just finished it and was generally disappointed, and am frustrated as I can't quite put my finger on why.

I think the author could have improved greatly upon this story if she'd taken the time to flesh out the characters of Katrina, Derek, and Trista*. There is such good detail in some areas of the book and I think that if the author had worked with a good editor or gotten some good criticism prior to publishing this could have been an AWESOME read. As it is I'd give it 2.5-3 stars.

As far as short stories go, this one has pretty much everything. A great plot, seriously steamy scenes and likeable characters. (Plus it centres on a student/professor relationship, who doesn't love that?). What i will say is that I was hoping for a big emotional explosive scene where Derek finds out that Katrina was Kitty, but nope, it pretty much went "I knew it was you", "Why didn't you say".... yawn... Still, maybe that's just me. Either way it was a great read which I'd definitely recommend to other BDSM lovers =]

Mmm, I was reading this and I suddenly wished that I was Kitty (undercover Kat) who gets her only chance with this Master whereas in real life, she's working and learning under him as her boss/professor. The scene was hot - it almost felt like it was actually here.

So with that said, I think that is obvious that I enjoyed this. I don't usually read short stories and enjoy them but this one I did. I like especially how Kat took a risk in the BDSM world with him as a virgin (not in the literal sense, but she was definitely vanilla before this).

Katrina has been Derek’s Teaching Assistant for the last few years. And madly in love with him since she first took a class with him her sophomore year. But he has never acted on her obvious hints and she can’t understand why.

It turns out that Derek is a Dom and not willing to settle for a Vanilla relationship. The question Katrina asks herself, can she be the submissive he is looking for? And how will she get the chance to prove it. She finds a way - one night that will decide things once and for all. Or will it?

Warning: Read this and you will never look at a bullwhip the same way again.

Not a bad short....61 pages. I don't usually enjoy anything shorter than 200 pages but we pick up where the student explains the past for us....so I don't feel like I missed much. Graduate student has the hots for Professor....he keeps her at arms length....she believes he is into some kink and goes, undercover, to experience it with him. Couple corny lines at the end as it wraps up but pretty darn hot and not a bad, quick, read.

A nice story, though I felt the language was awkward and too removed at times when, as a reader, I had hoped for something more deep POV drawing me right into their heads. Also, the rush with which a newbie is brought into BDSM without even so much as talk, and the lack of aftercare, threw me off a bit. But this is a short story and fiction, and I realize that especially in shorts, realism has to be sacrified at times. Overall, a nice read.

For a D/s book, this was very well done. The professor/student scenario is not my personal cup of tea, but the author did an excellent job of developing the relationship. Note that the student is a grad student/teaching assistant of the professor's. Well crafted story, well developed characters and character motivations. Nice job!

This was really good short story. I liked how Katrina didn't give up on Derek and the BDSM party was great. For her first time it was quite intense. I liked the professor/student relationship, even if he was trying to stay away.
