Sam: I've been desperate to meet my raskarran mate ever since I first saw the gorgeous green guys on the beach. So when the dreamspace forms, I'm beyond excited. So he might not be entirely convinced I'm real, I'm not going to let that get me down. Dad always said problems are best solved one step at a time, and the solution seems pretty simple. We just need to get to know one another better. Step one: Who is my mate. Step two: Who am I. Step three: I'm not sure, but hopefully it involves kissing.
Dazzik: With the big rains soon coming, and my supplies running low, the last thing I need is a distraction. The pretty female in my dreams tells me she is my mate, but even if she were real, this is not the blessing it should be. I could not care for a mate. I can barely care for myself. But the more I speak with Sam, the more I start to doubt my conviction that she is invented. And when my old tribe strike, I know I must go after them. I must save her and claim her before it is too late.

FMCs who aren't terrified, cold, and/or "sassy". Excited about romance and the sexy aliens around her. MMCs who need to be won over instead of insta love/lust/longing!! It gets soooo old reading books that always take the shape of the MMC obsessing over the FMC. So happy to get some variety! Give me cold, dismissive males, give me excited but then hurt females, give me the grovel when he realizes he's wrong.
Now, to be fair, this one didn't have a grovel but it wasn't really needed because the story was so well balanced.
I honestly can't say enough good things about this book. The FMC is amazing. It is so hard to strike the right balance with a FMC who is determined to be happy, but the author absolutely did here. Sam feels like a real person trying to make the best of her situation instead of the mindlessly happy caricature you often see in romance novels. There is the PERFECT balance between plot development and relationship development (I finished reading it in one night) and the building relationship was very well paced. It is such a relief to FINALLY read a FMC who is excited to mate with the sexy aliens in a scifi romance. It's a huge breath of fresh air in the genre where you normally get: a. I don't need no man b. I want him but I can't give in because (name random trauma/memory) c. I'm terrified so will refuse to make eye contact
This one absolutely felt the most completed and I really enjoyed meeting someone outside the tribe! -alien H -human h -h is taken by bad aliens and her H saves her -mates -rough around the edges H this time
ooh expanding the world. I love a good conspiracy to sink my teeth into for a series! Can't wait to theorize and be wrong haha. Side note: there is quite a body count for this series (not the fun kind). I think coming to this series after IPB I didn't anticipate that. The Raskarrans don't care that a sickness killed most of their people; if you endanger their linasha, they will sever your spinal cord.
THIS. This is what the whole series should have been. The start was great but I knew there had to be something more and finally, they find the building where all the mystery is.
The mating of Sam and Dazzik is awesome and I am so glad they have such a unique story.
Sam was always the super happy person that you saw more of in the first book and less since. She was the only one really excited about finding her mate and creating a new life on this planet. In the prior book you realize she went missing and think she’s dead, then in this one you find out that she’s been captured by another tribe who thinks to use her for nefarious reasons. I liked that her mate wasn’t part of any tribes that we’d met before, and he was the one in disbelief that they were meeting in the dreamspace vs them always explaining to the humans how that worked. This one was more action packed than the rest with him having to take down practically his old entire tribe to save her. As with the rest of this series, the book was a very quick and entertaining read. Taken at face value it was fun, when I start trying to think more about it (especially them finding the bldg in the end) I can poke plot/reality holes, but this is an alien smut romance so I’m raking based on how much I enjoyed the story (which was lots!). 3 stars from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Each woman and Raskarran has their own issues to overcome but the story telling is moving and funny in turns.
Lovely new spin on alien romance with the use of Dreamscape where they can converse and understand one another. I also love the use of headspace and heartspace to describe thoughts and feelings.
So good, another series on my to be read as soon as released list!
My only complaint is the author has just got the series to a revelation that could answer underlying questions like the cause of the illness that ravaged the Raskarran peoples and possibly the answer to the prayers of so many unmated males and she's taking a short break... Nnnnoooo!
I read all of these prior to reviewing. Series thoughts: really, really good. Strong individually but makes a really nice, cohesive whole.
Book specific: Sam is so freaking cute, you can totally see why everyone loves her. I was thrilled to get back to mated couples and this one did it well. I always prefer external conflict to interpersonal, which this definitely is. The plot is engaging both for this book and for the series. Dazzik is interesting, adding depth to the world and also just as a character. They're a sweet couple and again Sam is just so cute.
Okay, I’m a sucker for a little trope reversal where the alien is the reluctant one and the human is all gung-ho about a fated mate. Dazzik had a lot of trauma and grief to reconcile with and it was honestly heartbreaking at the start as you realize he’s sort of accepted what he thinks is his end.
Sam was beyond sweet and a real breath of sunshine in a novel that could have ended up pretty heavy. Dazzik needed a counter to a near decade of solitude with only a ghost for company and Sam provided that. Her personal grief was similar but confronted in a way that Dazzik hadn’t quite managed with his own and I enjoyed the way they managed to help one another with their fear and history.
I feel like there’s an expansion on Lina as an entity as well in this book. The aliens talk about her in the previous books but it’s mostly as like, an intangible goddess that maybe has something to do with the dreamscapes. But it felt like her influence was a little more direct in this book than in the previous ones which I think we’ll see even more of in later books, given the mystery of the Mercenia building that’s revealed.
Every time a new book is added to this series, I am overjoyed because once again I am able to forget about my troubles and immerse mysellf in the Raskarrans fantasy world, where the Raskarrans are kind and protective of women while not being sexist or domineering. The writing is so totally great, because it powerfully takes you away from your life and to a world where characters you would like to know exist. !
Sam and her tribe are moving camp and she starts dreamsharing with a Raskarran outcast. Then a nasty group of outlaws nab Sam and after realizing Sam's tribe is way tougher than they are start running. Dazzick figures out his old tribe has grabbed his Sam and goes after her.
honestly, i’ve been waiting for this but i didn’t know what to expect, and it is so much better than i could have thought. i love all of these books (i have a soft spot for endzoh’s honestly) but this is probably a top choice. will definitely read again, i strongly suggest reading yourself!! thank you, heather fox, the ending has me SUPER excited for more!
Wow! Things are heating up in the Raskarran’s World!
Seized is an exciting, riveting story of Dazzik, an outcast warrior and Sam, a wild haired, bottom tier human. Their adventure starts just before the big rains and has a very unexpected ending! WTF! Can’t wait for the next novel in the series!
Fascinating tale of the outcast blue Raskarran and his slow opening of trust to his human mate. I am so happy I took the Kindle recommendation for this author. Love the series. Can not wait to more truths of humans come out. Hope the find some good human males that help them as well as way to get truth out back home.
Really enjoying this series. Sam and Dazzik story had me really excited to finally see Sam got her HEA. It got real interested at the end when the came across the warehouse in the middle of the forest filled with females in statis pods 🙀. Lina's forest will not be the same. Looking forward to the next book.
I love Sam(h) & Dazzik (H)! I loved how Sam was so eager to find her mate and this time it was Dazzik who thought it wasn’t real, a role reversal of the second book.
I wish I knew when Grace’s story was set to release and I’m still a little bummed that again it’ll be just a different POV instead of continuing the story but I’m excited nonetheless.
I’m a sucker for a “wounded” MMC. The dreamscape and having the FMC being the one to instigate and be excited first while the MMC is in denial is a refreshing break from the typical alien romance that I really enjoyed!
I wish we got to see more of their relationship after they got together, but it was still so good and melted my heart.
Another great read from Heather Fox, continuing my love for the raskarrans and the Earth women given a new life on their planet. I loved the backstory of Dazzik, and I loved his and Sam's story, it was so good I read this in a day. Given the little surprise at the end I can't wait to see where things are headed!
These installments are getting better and better. The romances. The overarching story. Ugh! I'm going to have a hard time waiting for the next book.
I loved sweet Sam. And I cried over Dazzik and his sordid tale. He'd been living in his own personal hell for years, yet still managed to keep his humanity, for lack of a better word.
If you're not reading this series, you're missing out.
This is the sixth mates for the raskarans book series in which human women struggle to survive on an alien planet after crash landing on the rainforest setting. One by one each of the ladies fines her faded mate from several of the surrounding tribes of aliens. Only one more to go!
They found an abandoned military base on the planet from Mercenia (the evil corporation). Inside that base are many human women in cold stasis. They don't know why the frozen women are there. Probably later books will wake them up.
Sam wants a mate badly. Dazzik wants a mate too but he doesn't know what to think when Sam shows up in his dreamscape. He must fight for her. Lots of suspense to come. Enjoy
Great story line with lots of captivating action. Sex is great but if it is constantly the only subject writing about gets boring . This book has a great interesting storyline and great amount of romance and sex. Nothing boring here people . Love it !!
More angsty than the previous books, ends with a cliffhanger, and there’s a few inconsistencies here and there, but nothing off-putting, not at all. Will be definitely moving on to the next book in the series!
So there is more going on than an innocent crash . Whatt is the evil corporate earth up to ? I look forward to finding out if I've guessed correctly or not.
