Myra North is a troublemaker. At twenty-one, she’s an alcoholic, a cult survivor, and a terrible actress. Selflessly, she moved to Fulwood to help her pregnant teenage best friend. He takes one look at Myra, and his need to teach her manners takes over.Diego knows what his unruly and hurt kitten needs. It’s a firm hand. A man who’s going to take control.
No cheating. Forbidden elements. HEA guaranteed. Steamy novella with eccentric intimate scenes that aren't for everyone. Age Gap, Best Friend's Dad. Single Dad. Daddy-calling (major Dd/lg).
“Have you tried with another person?” Diego asks, and I want to forget that he’s my best friend’s dad. He’s another addiction waiting to happen, and I can’t afford another vice.
Myra is a 21 year old recovering alcoholic who had a bad childhood. She falls for her best friend's dad. They both had meh personalities but when they came together, their personalities and chemistry for the other shined bright!! As always with Lya Harper, her spice is SPICY and well worth the read!
safety: virgin heroine age gap (21h, 40s-50sH) ddlg/rough sex/golden shower/anal no OM/OW no cheating/sharing HEA ♡

Synopsis Myra, a 21 year old, is coming to terms with the fact her best friend Auri, the only family she has, is getting married and moving on with her life at only 19. Worried she'll be left behind and forgotten, she finds solace in the last place she expected: Auri's father.
A widower of over a decade, Diego can't accept his daughter's pregnancy and marriage to a man older than he is himself. Trying to get on board, he finds himself being called to Myra, the woman he first thought was a bad influence on his little girl. When they start to get to know one another, he realises this is the first woman since his wife he craves.
My Thoughts This was a quick read at less than 100 pages. There was a lot of heat and some very intense smut scenes throughout the novella. Harper is able to capture a full story in a short amount of time.
I enjoyed the writing for the most part, though it felt rushed in a few places. I wish there was more build up to Myra and Diego getting together. A few more days, build the tension a little more in depth before both opening up completely and deciding to dive in head first.
The week long timeline was short, but the two did already have somewhat of a relationship before so it wasn't too much from first encounter and marriage.
I really just want to be warned about surprise pregnancy tropes in books before I read them. It just never seems realistic to me and no one would be that happy to find out you're pregnant after less than 2 weeks together. None of this appeals to me much and I do get annoyed by it. It removes part of the enjoyment for me after getting the satisfaction of overcoming the climax of the novel. A HEA to me doesn't need to be marriage or a baby.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Caveat lector: Any reviews I write for Lya Harper’s books will automatically receive 5 stars. I do this in support of her as a smut author and in support of myself as a smut reader. Plus, I just plain enjoy all the Fulwood books. See after my review for “The Team’s Virgin Pet” for my why.
Myra (h21) struggles to overcome the challenges she’s already face in her young life, including alcoholism and escaping a cult she was raised in. Her AA youth drama group needs a new leader, and Fulwood High principal Diego Ramírez (H), and her best friend’s father, steps into the role. Diego and Myra are drawn to one another, and after he witnesses a panic attack she tells him about her abuse in the cult. Diego and Myra are trying to balance their secret relationship, even as Diego tries to come to terms with Aurelia and Theo’s upcoming marriage, which is putting a strain on his relationship with Myra. Ultra-hot and steamy best friend’s dad age gap erotic smutty quickie, with a DDlg, water sports, and more. It's fiction - please don't read this is you're looking for reality. A fun hot read! This is a standalone, but Myra is friends with Diego’s daughter, Aurelia, from “The Pretty Prom Queen” and you may want to read that first. In addition, you may want to consider reading the author’s other the books since there are so many recurring characters and familial relationships.
Myra North had a troubled upbringing and is now a reckless alcoholic 21-year-old. She does what she wants and doesn’t like to follow the rules. Diego Ramirez is the principal at the local high school and is helping guide the young AA community center where he sees Myra. She’s much younger than him and acting like a brat. It doesn’t take long before Diego teaches Myra a lesson. All she needs is someone to take control and Diego does just that! This was a quick read with taboo elements but the author wrote them so well!

Our heroine is rather out of control with no regard for herself or others. But when she does something for a friend, it brings our hero into the deal. He may be off limits, but he is exactly what she needs.
This is a novella length erotic romance. The story is well written and easy to read with a small, but well done cast. I really enjoyed this one as our leads have great chemistry together and are precisely what each of them needs. Throw in a little kink and a good bit of steam and you have a very enjoyable read. I am looking forward to more from this author.
Highly recommended.

Wow! This seemed to start off a bit slow (and a bit confusing to be honest) but quickly sucked me in. Diego's daughter tells her BFF Myra that her dad is so vanilla....LOL...you have to read to see how truly NOT vanilla he is. The main h, Myra, is super damaged and has suffered from sexual abuse as a child, so heed the warnings in the beginning. Lots of daddy love and kink in this one.
