Bellerive Royals #2
Scarred Crown
PRINCE NICHOLAS
Years ago, she owned my heart.
As my childhood friend, she knew all my secrets,
And my true feelings about everything,
Except her.
When she hurt me,
It was too much,
Picking the one person I loathed,
Over me.
Being the son of a king isn't easy,
Being the second son is even harder,
Which is why I left,
To work harder,
For myself,
For my family,
But away from the pain.
Now, we're connected again,
And she wants me to return home,
To my father,
And that is not on my radar,
But she is,
Every single inch of her.
This time, she won't slip through my fingers,
Or shall I say my crown?
JULIA
He bailed on our friendship,
Disconnecting from me,
And all that we built together,
Shattering my heart in the process.
Now, his father wants him back,
Needs him back,
And has ordered me to retrieve him.
Who am I to tell the king "No?"
One look at him,
And I remember why I loved him,
But I refuse to fall for royalty again,
Even if we're this close,
Sharing one bed,
And our secrets again.
After all, when he discovers the truth,
There's no battling the SCARRED CROWN that's come between us.
This is a childhood best friends turned enemies to lovers second chance royal romance that brims with angst and witty banter.

Scarred Crown is the second book in The Bellerive Royals series.
Nicholas is just amazing. Trying to live a normal life, as normal as possible with his status, he doesn’t expect to see the only person who he thought about all these years. His childhood friend and the only person who had his heart. But life is unpredictable and many times, miscommunication or just a simple assumption can change everything.
I loved their witty banter and interaction. The intense chemistry was felt throughout the story. Their “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” made me so happy because it brought them together even more.
There are a few angsty moments as well as challenging times for both of them.
It’s a wholesome romance story with great characters and subplots. Reigning duties, brothers confronting and of course, a love story that was meant to happen.
I can't recommend this series enough.

Prince Nicholas and the King’s secretary, Julia, invite you to believe in second chances in this, their recollection of past and present and the scars mended along the way.
From the moment their hearts bled on their Tanzanian Safari, to their wild night in Vegas and the ghosts of fourteen years of misunderstandings missed opportunities that haunted the court of Bellerive, I was enchanted. Nick and Jules’ chemistry was undeniable, the pain of their broken hearts and their fall out even more so as these deeply flawed characters and complicated family dynamics came between them.
It’s no secret that 14 years of miscommunication and unravelling secrets would be rooted in drama, and there was no shortage in this instance as veiled truths were brought to light. But it was in the small details, in the emotions that couldn’t be concealed and the sexual tension that overruled these shortcomings, that Million’s elegant storytelling reigned. The frustration, the heartache, the joy, and the love that I felt for Nick and Jules was unrivalled and my heart was conquered.
The depth that this combination of past and present timelines allowed Million’s to reach added an extra layer of tension to this slowly healing rift, and for the most part it was nice to see the two in parallel. I did, however, at times find the past chapters timing to be disruptive, especially in those moments when emotions and tension were elevated (eg. A certain night outside the tent), only to be shattered moments later when the next chapter threw you back in time to reveal info often already disclosed in present day scenes. I would have preferred to see these moments played out while the reactions were prime, and perhaps those moments of their past raised at a different, more suitable, occasion.
This said, there was plenty to love about Nick and Jules’ story, and I cannot recommend this one enough to everyone with a soft spot for flawed humans and second chances, best friends turned enemies turned lovers, and the much beloved one bed trope 😉
Thank you to the author for the advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

This is my first book by W. Million and it definitely will not be my last. The plot was well thought out. The story was well written and developed right down to flipping between past and present. I loved Nick and Jules together. Their chemistry was off the charts hot. All characters were easily relatable. I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn’t put it down. I can’t recommend this book enough. I will be going back to read book 1 and anxiously waiting on book 3, Alex’s story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.

I *love* romances involving royal families and how they navigate the social pressure. W. Millon delivers a great setup with a lot of nuance and fully-fleshed-out characters. I received a review copy for this title, and I will definitely go and buy the rest of the series.
When she's sent to retrieve her old BFF Nicholas from a safari in Tanzania, Julia hasn't had more than superficial contact with him for ~12 years. They spark in the early chapters, and their tit-for-tat pranks are gleefully hilarious. There's a somewhat awkward detour to Vegas once they're getting along better - I wasn't quite sold on why they made that stopover - but it nicely set up the second half of the book with a waking up married subplot that had a fun twist.
I debated between 4 and 5 stars because there's one flashback scene with Nicholas that made me loathe him - it was really despicable behavior on his part.
Julia forgives Nicholas far too easily for sleeping with her college roommate IN HER ROOM and locking her out. He never acknowledges what a completely d*ck move that is, nor apologizes for it. (You too, roommate, although you didn't have all the backstory. Nicholas knew what he was doing. At least take roommate hookup back to your place - have SOME class, you're a prince, FFS.)
I wanted to see Julia give him hell for that moment in particular, and she doesn't, so I wasn't totally convinced he wouldn't lapse back into being a jerk the minute he got all up in his feels about their next conflict. I thought he still had some growing up to do before he deserved her, even though it happened 12 years ago. He seemed quite capable of being that much of a jerk again.
That aside, I ended up at 5* because the ending is very romantic, and I was 100% convinced these characters loved each other enough to work through Nicholas's tendency to jump to conclusions and harbor grudges. Plus, the author handled some really sensitive topics very well, and like I said, I'm planning to buy the rest of the series. So. 5*!

First and foremost, this was a 5+ star read.
There’s books that you read that take a piece of your heart and this is one of them for me. This book…I have no words except phenomenal. I am so obsessed with it and with Julia and Nick.
This is a childhood bestfriends turned enemies to lovers. A second chance royal romance that will have you flipping from one page to the next. I couldn’t get enough of it like it was one in the morning and I was still reading…🫣
Something I enjoyed was how we got chapters both in the present and in the past. Not only do you get to see their relationship flourish from enemies to lovers but you also see why they became enemies/stopped being bestfriends in the first place.
The chemistry between Julia and Nick even in the past when they thought they didn’t have feelings for each other was everything. They were so meant to be even if they didn’t admit it to themselves until it was too late and then had to wait 14 years for the stars to align again.
Obviously, my favorite parts were the present chapters and getting to see Julia and Nick fall back in love and talk through their past obstacles. Communication is key, people! Let’s remember this!
This is 100% one of my top reads of the year, I’m already giving it that title. It was just so incredible and had so many feel good moments that I couldn’t put it down.
I want to thank the author, Wendy Million, for sending me an arc of her book. I am so grateful for this one because it truly took a piece of my heart!

Nick and Julia did not belong together at all. I don't feel that they were good for each other. As friends, maybe? But they didn't communicate at all. After Julia hiding her relationship with Alex, Nick hiding his feelings, and then the mess up later on, why on earth should they be together? To me, it was obvious that they didn't work. Nick had a lot to apologize for, which he didn't. Jules did too, and she didn't apologize either. It was just excuses and buts. And honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of Alex either. Not sure how his book is going to go.

Julia Jensen is King George's secretary. She's replaced her mother who's retired recently from this position. Today the King is making an unusual request of her, find and bring his son Prince Nicolas home. At first, she thinks she's misunderstood, and she merely has to find someone to go get him. This is not what King George has in mind though, he's certain she's the only one who can get his son to cut his trip short and return.
Julia and Nick have a past, a friendship that went horribly wrong fourteen years ago. There's no going back again after what Nick did.
Nick is not happy when she shows up at his camp in the Serengeti. He has three more weeks here and then time in Las Vegas and he has no intention of cutting it short. Not for any reason. He certainly doesn't buy her reason of the King abdication and his brother's coronation as the reason. A coronation takes months to plan and execute.
He pulls a bit of a fast one on her as he arranges for her to stay in his tent, but he doesn't explain any of the plumbing to her. He also starts remembering much of their past and the reason he spends so much time away from home. He can't seem to get her out of his mind. There's quite the banter between them with a little tit for tat thrown in for good measure.
The King throws a curve ball when he requests her to hold off for a week or maybe more since he's working on a government project with Prince Alex. He'll call her when it's time to bring Nick home.
Their time is filled with safaris and Julia sightseeing with Nick protesting a bit because of manipulation rather than just need. However, their guide Kafil has a family problem that Julia wants to help with. A child with club feet, and that child wins Nick over as well.
There is a reporter staying in the same tent village with them and he starts insinuating that there is something more than palace business between Nick and Julia. Nick won't fall for the bait and he's going to have to warn Julia. Her day had been full of disconcerting things and when she changes the subject by going after a dessert, Nick quickly follows.

This book is fun, exciting, sizzling and there are plenty of surprises as well.

Scarred Crown by Wendy Million is the second book of the Bellerive Royals Series. Fake Crown was the first book and if you read that, you will definitely want to read this next addition to the series. It was so good!
The first book was about Posey and this one is about her sister Julia, nickname Jules. Jules has a lifetime friendship with the second in line for the crown of Bellerive. His name is Nicholas or Nick. I love that name for some reason. Anyway, about the time they reach 16 and all those teenage hormones start raging, other people in their lives come into the story. I loved these two characters. They had a lot of passion, compassion and just downright big hearts.
I have to give Wendy Million a lot of kudos. She has tackled some pretty big subjects in this book and makes it not only a fun romance read but, a book that will make you think and question some of your beliefs. I’m going to let those come as a surprise to you. It is better if you don’t have prior knowledge of the subject and are faced with your heartfelt feelings. I think this book would be a good bookclub choice because some of the subjects brought to light in this book would make good discussions.
If you love a good book that is all fun and games on the surface but, makes you stop in your tracks and think about your feeling on a controversial subject, then this book is a good one for you. You do not have to read book one to understand what is going on in book two. That is the beauty of this series. These two books do very well as stand alone novels.
The third book in the series is named Heavy Crown and is slated for publication on August 17th. I am so excited and can’t wait to read the next installment! It is up for pre-order. My suggestion? If you haven’t read either of the first two books, go order them now and then pre-order Heavy Crown to be delivered to your in-box upon publication. Happy Reading!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book made me believe in second chance romances. The flawed characters, the drama, the royal demands, and the complicated family dynamics were convincing and captivating.
Prince Nicholas, or Nick as he’s sometimes known, has a real, complex personality with many goals and wishes. One of which is staying away from his dad and spending time on Safari in Tanzania. Julia, as the king’s secretary, is tasked with bringing Prince Nicholas home and finds herself on safari in Tanzania, too. Except there’s no bed or tent for her to stay in, so of course she ends up bunking with Nick. I mean, Prince Nicholas.
Their old friendship bubbles under the surface and old wounds are unmasked as the two try to navigate being close to each other again with a wonderful amount of enemies-to-lovers style banter. They grow closer in such a realistic way it had me staying up to finish the next chapters.
This story is told with the present and past timelines interspersed with each other. I thought this generally added depth to the story and made my heart break for the messes the young teenagers found themselves in.
Occasionally, though, I did think the past chapters were giving information I already knew from the present, and could have probably been cut to help continue the suspense established in the present day chapters. No spoilers, but one scene outside the tent in the dark comes to mind as a scene I really wanted to see play out in the next chapter, rather than returning to the past.
Overall, I didn’t find those small things to detract from the overall story and I really fell in love with these two and watching them navigate life together. I would highly recommend you check out this book, especially if you love second chances, complicated histories, royal politics, or exciting settings.

Scarred Crown is a friends to enemies, second chance romance story.
Jules and Nick. They need to learn communication so bad. I really just wanted to shake both of them and convince that so many of their problems would go away if they would just talk.
Jules is a sweet soul with a “bleeding heart” as Nick says. She’s just wanting to help all those in need, but she’s been stuck in limbo as the king’s secretary. In comes, Nick, the second oldest prince and Jules’ ex-best friend. Nick is doing his best to forget everything that he and Jules used to share using he favorite method of women and booze (his words). But as they spend more time together, they both start remember how deep their connection used to be and how much they miss it. Despite their stubbornness to communicate and a meddling older brother, Jules and Nick have to decide if their friendship can not only be repaired but if they could possibly be more.
If you love an enemies-to-lovers, second chance, and a forced proximity romance, go ahead and add Scarred Crown to your TBR.

Raw Joy and emotions
I shouldn’t be writing this review when I’m a blubbering mess. This book has restored my faith in a royal romance books. Hey, everyone has their type, but this style used to be a no for me. Well it’s a Yes once again with WM. She has taken me on a rollercoaster of gut wrenching emotion and I’m begging for more.
Nick & Jules! Goodness (bonks on the head for good measure). This was a slow burn of epic proportions but worth the ride. Love doesn’t come with instructions, sometimes it does require some work, especially when you have a torrid history. I honestly didn’t think the HEA would happen the way this went. These characters has me questioning my sanity. I was yelling at them, alas they couldn’t hear me.
WARNING: Book may want you to put it in the freezer.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the hotness of Nick and the thrill of Jules finally getting the royal treatment. Good gracious. I’m telling you now, the hubs will approve of me reading this book.
This story weaves a passion years in the making that explodes beyond Nick and Jules expectations, but not for their souls 14 years mated. Read it! Love it! Share it with your friends.

Having read Fake Crown i've been looking so forward to more from this author! Ever since i reached the end of book one, i couldn't wait to get into this second installment! I picked it up as soon as i could and got right back into the Bellerive Royals world! I so enjoyed this second book!
Julia aka Jules and Nicholas aka Nick's journey pulled me in! Because of the king's orders Julia is tasked with bringing Nick, her once upon a time best friend back home. As these two reunite, i couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for them.
I really liked how these two had history and getting to see them tackle not only that, but the present and their feelings as well. I was so glad that i got to dig deeper with them. They had great chemistry! I loved the way these two had me feeling so many emotions throughout!
With Scarred Crown, Ms.Million has created a great read that i didn't want to turn away from! I can't wait to dive back into the Bellerive Royals world with the third installment Alexander's book, Heavy Crown!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the author*

Second book of the Bellevue series and I was hooked once again.
Character development and family dynamics are truly enticing in this series!
I love childhood friends romances and this one surely did not disappoint, seeing Alex and Julia’s perspectives and core memories throughout their childhood, teenage, and adult years was truly wonderful and so well detailed that I felt really close to the story.
I appreciated a realistic narration of their miscommunications throughout the years, which has led them to be separate for years for false pretenses, and it was therefore amazing to see them grow feelings and get to know each other again in a different context, outside Bellevue.
This story is great if you want to escape to far places with exotic nature and elements of the local cultures, which is definitely refreshing in a book.
W. Million has proven to be a great narrator again, I really enjoy this series and her engaging and well-detailed writing style.
Looking forward to the third book of the series!

4⭐/5
It is a book full of #forcedproximity #angst #past . I found the first half of the book extremely interesting and full of emotional turns and events 🤫. Although I found the implication of certain things a bit of a stretch in the second half. But overall I found it realistic because it is actually very difficult to let go of past.
Nick is our asshole kinda main character and not like our 'gentleman-ly' heroes, which was refreshing. And obviously Jules is Posey's elder sister 🤷♀️.
I am really addicted to the Bellerive Royals series after this book and really excited for Alex's story. It would be really interesting to see Alex falling in love with someone else 😂.
Tropes: #bestfriendstoenemiestolovers #firstlove #frenemies #lovetriangle #royalromance #workromance #secondchance #romance

The second book in the Bellerive Royals series and it did not disappoint at all.
At first, the way Nick deals with his feelings and with Julia (regarding her reappearance, his position in the family and her odd request to return) seems selfish and insensitive, but though the mixture of current and past narratives, his actions are a true testament of how pure his heart and his love is.
This book is about Nick and Julia and we love their interactions and witty behaviour, but it is also about family. The relationships within a family, with parents, siblings and family responsibilities. It speaks about the harder decisions in life, harsh realities and the importance of communication and loving wholeheartedly.
If I wasn't already obsessed with the Bellerive Royals after the first book, I definitely would be after this one.

If you love a book about friendship, love and rekindling relationship this is your go to book!
It shows that assuming is never good and that talking is very important in a relationship.
Love how the main characters (Julia and Nicholas) are forced back together by their parents and have to face their lost friendship and potentially find love with each other again.
You also get a little peek in the live of the royals of Bellerive, with some very current and ethical questions being discussed in a very political way which shows the views from all sides.
Loved reading this as an ARC reader and definitely recommend it!!

I loved this book so much. I was totally emotionally invested with the characters and could hardly put it down. The back and forth of their story, getting to really know them and what went wrong years ago to cause them to not even be friends at the start of this story had me emotionally wrecked many times (and from the preview of their relationship I saw in the previous book, I kind of figured that would be the case- so glad it lived up to and surpassed that expectation).
I'm actually not someone who usually reads a romance that includes royals, but this story is so good and I can't wait for the next one!

Wow! I loved every little thing about Nicholas and Julia! I really enjoyed seeing their friendship before everything changes between them! It was great seeing how close they were. You see how much they still care about one another years later! I’m glad they made their way towards each other! They gave me all the feels! I couldn’t help but keep rooting for them! They definitely were meant to be! ☺️💚

What makes a good book?
✅ Makes the reader feels
✅ Great story
✅ Engaging plots
✅ Tropes I love (Bestfriend to lovers or enemies to lovers?, second chance, royals)
✅ Satisfying ending
✅ Can’t put it down
✅ Swooning over characters in spite of their imperfections
Scarred Crown has them all. Wendy Million did a very good job. Scarred Crown is an amazing book about love, friendship and family. One of the best I’ve ever read. I love it on Wattpad. I love the published version even more. I hope it becomes a movie someday.

This book was such a great read. You get sucked in from the very beginning and it just gets better and better. This book is one that was hard to put down, I just wanted to finish it in one sitting. We learned about Julia and the Royal brothers. It was super enjoyable and should be read by everyone.

Great Story!
This author really did a great job with this book. Any story that can make me tear up has done an excellent job with their writing. The emotion and history that these characters shared was what made this so much more. To see Jules and Nick go through pain, suffering, self discovery, humor and steamy romance all in one made this the book to read. Enjoy!

This book is amazing I finished it in a go. The chemistry between Nick n julia is something you can clearly imagine it's kind of a tug of war between thm. I'm not giving any spoilers but the plot twist is really amazing you will actually laugh about. The emotions, quirks and their friendship, love in this book is so amazing and engaging.

Cute Love Story
Scarred Crown was A cute story. It was a little bit confusing at first with the flashbacks of the past but it helped understand both characters position in the lives of each other. This romance novel was more about the love and adoration two people have for each other no matter what happens.

4 star read
Book 2 : Bellerive Royals
SCARRED CROWN
Tropes: Friends to enemies to lovers
Royalty
Second-Chance
Angsty Romance
Ever since I read Fake Crown, I was intrigued by Jules. I've been counting days for this since Fake Crown came out. This book just exceeded my expectations there is just something about Wendy's writing which makes you wanna read the whole book in one sitting.
NickJules were everything one would expect in A Second Chance romance and more. Their Banter was exhilarating. Their Chemistry was overwhelming and their Characters were flawed but so loveable. There had been some moments which were so raw, they pulled my heartstrings.
Jules is exactly the kind of heroine I love in my romance books. She was intelligent, kind and passionate. She has made her place in my top 10.
Nick was my misunderstood hero. You actually see throughout the story how smitten he was with jules even after so many years. Although I admit there were some moments where i wanted to budge some sense into him.
If you are a fan of second chance romance with a lot of angst you should DEFINITELY read this book .

Definitly a 5 star read! Wendy Million never disappoints when it comes to addictive, heartwarming romance novels. This book has them all, the tropes we all love and want. From friends to enemies to lovers directly into the all time favourite only one bed available. There is drama and there are swoon worthy moments that make you fall in love with Nick and Jules again and again.

Awwww
My heart in this one. I love these two. They went through so much to get to where they are now.
Friends since birth, it always seemed like they would be together. A 14 year break is a long time to be apart. I love their story and I may or may not have shed a tear or two.

friends to enemies to lovers
What a roller coaster ride. Nick and Jules are best friend for the first 16 years of their lives until a secret and questions not asked rip them apart. Years later familial manipulation throws them back together in hopes of them finding their way back to their friendship, if not more.
I’m not going to lie, there were a few parts of this story I had to put the book down because it was making feel all of the feels.

This book was absolutely amazing. I can't even find the words to describe it. This book kept me on the edge the whole time. I was constantly reading this book never putting it down. If you love books that are about enemies to lovers than you will definitely love this book. I highly recommend reading this book.

This is a good second chance story for these former best friends who missed out on love the first time around. I really enjoyed the forced proximity aspect of the story along with the flash backs that allows you to get a look at how their former relationship was and things that lead up to their distance in the first place. After all of that, it was very nice to get to their HEA ending

pleasantly surprised
This book was not as fun, flirty or fast as the first one. I would say about 30% into the book I wasn’t sure I was quite liking it, but then I just could not put it down. There were definitely some heavy topics discussed but I guess maybe that’s the part I liked - some substance to this story. And I also liked the going back to the past to understand the the relations and dynamics, it flowed well for me.
