Happy Cat #4.5

Happily Ever Aftered

Rate this book
I didn’t mean to fall in love with my grumpy British boss, Colin. Or his daughter, the adorable little girl I’ve been nannying for in London.

I tried hard not to lose my heart, in fact—knowing I can’t give Colin what he wants most—but…I failed.

I’ve become way too good at failure, but all of that’s about to change when I fly home to Happy Cat and win the annual scavenger hunt for love.

For years, the winner has gone on to find their One, and I’m past ready to find mine. And maybe falling for someone new will make me forget that I miss my favorite grumpy Brit like a rogue vital organ…

But what happens when Colin shows up at the starting line, insisting I’m his One?

Will he listen when I confess why I’m the wrong woman for him? Or will he hit me with a love bomb I never saw coming?

Pippa Grant wanted to write books, so she did.

Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.

When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.

The Happy Cat series started when Savannah Sunderwell, former child actress and owner of an adult toy factory, discovers that her husband cheated on her with a sheep. She ends up leaving the factory with her sister and travelled to London to recover from the trauma. There she decided to work as a Nanny for widower Colin Bassingstoke and his daughter Beatrice. It has been three years, and Savannah realizes that she is in love with her boss, but doesn’t think that the affection is returned. She quits and comes home to Happy Cat to participate in the town’s treasure hunt, where the past winners have found true love. Colin has arrived in Happy Cat, hoping that he hasn’t lost his chance with a woman he has fallen in love with. This book has a lot laughs and cameos from characters from the past books, including the raccoon George Cooney. This is a fun novella that ends the series where is started, with Savannah. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author for my honest opinion.

And, for our finale, we get Savannah's story. She's come back to Happy Cat, GA after coming to the realization that she was in love with her boss, the father of the young girl she's been nannying for for the last 2-3 years.

With hope and determination, she wants to win the Happy Cat Spring Treasure hunt, since there is a long history of the winner finding love. And all she wants is her own love and a happily ever after.

SHORT story, fun to read, and we get to catch up with Cassie & Ryan, Hope & Blake, Jace & Olivia, and Noelle and Clint and all of their expanding families - human and fur/feather.

Colin and Savannah

Happy Cat - town of crazy, sex toys, and crazier animals

She’s a former child Star turned sex toy factory owner turned his daughters nanny the last few years. She has fallen for this stoic grump and leaves England behind. He follows her immediately with his daughter - to declare his love.

This focuses on a scavenger hunt where he is tagging along… it takes awhile for them to get to the love declaration part. Finally! But she also has to tell him she can never have children but he just wants her.

Low stars due to not much substance to the relationship.

Prologue - they adopt 2 babies and live in America

Rabbit in backyard - unnecessarily added

I wish Savannah would have been in more of the series or her story being somewhere in the middle. Her divorce started it all, so I kind of expected more for her. I would have loved to get to know her and Colin more! I love a good nanny story! But from what I got I enjoyed it.

This is a new novella that was first introduced in the Happy Cat box set, a collaboration between Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. I recommend you read the whole set because 1) all the stories are hilarious, 2) all the stories are full of heart and 3) George Cooney (the raccoon who is an entity all on his own).

In this novella, Savannah, sister to Cassie, from Hosed is back and is intent on winning a race that will guarantee her true love (local legend). Helping her, mostly because he loves her, is her ex-employer, Colin, who she ran away from because she was in love with him and his daughter. Besides the romance (and the humor), we get a fantastic look at all the different characters that I've fallen in love with across all 4 of the prior books. What a fitting way to say goodbye to Happy Cat!

Happily Ever Aftered is a novella to be read last in the series and only part of the boxset. I love this series so much. It’s hilarious, sexy, and full of the amazing characters, Savannah being one of them.

Savannah left her hometown of Happy Cat years ago after her divorce. She didn’t plan on being across the pond for so long but after becoming a nanny to a sweet little girl she knew she wanted and needed to stay. That was three years ago and now she is back home just in time for the Happy Cat’s annual treasure hunt. What she didn’t expect was for him to show up. Colin, her grumpy but oh, so sexy, smart, and sweet in his own way ex-boss as of yesterday. She was shocked but she didn’t have time to talk. This treasure hunt would led her to happily ever after and she wasn’t about to give that up even for the man she liked more than a boss…

OMFG! This story is funny AF. It is full of cameos, laughs, crazy animals, and one awesome little girl.

Quotes:

“No guesses first?”
“Something to do with that llama, I’d imagine,” Colin suggests.
“Alpaca,” Hope corrects. “But I’ll forgive you for the mistake, because your accent is utterly delicious.”
“Ah, thank you.”

“What the devil are you doing?” If I’m the beast, Savannah is Snow White, communicating with the woodland creatures.

“I want to dance with you.”

This ending for the Happy Cat series, Happily Ever Aftered sort of loops us back to the beginning. It could be read as a standalone book but does have the other Happy Cat couples and small-town crazy people and animals in it in abundance.

Savannah fled Happy Cat after finding her husband cheating on her...with a sheep. She traveled some of Europe and ended up as a nanny for Colin and his daughter, Beatrice, where she spent three years healing and falling in love with both Dad and daughter. When Savannah realizes how deep she is in, she quits and heads back home to Happy Cat to be close to friends and family and win a contest that traditionally has the winner finding the love of their life in the next year.

Little known to Savannah, once Collin is deprived of her constant company, he misses her terribly, realizes he is in love also and brings Beatrice on a flight across the Atlantic to find Savannah and win her back.

Finding love

I loved this nanny, single dad romance. It had a wonderful mix of sweet, spicy, funny, swoony, and real life issues. Savannah, Cassie’s sister and the original owner of the sex toy factory gets her HEA in this novella. She’s been in England working as a nanny to Beatrice but she realizes she loves her employer and resigns. She arrives in Happy Cat in time for Happy Cat’s Spring Treasure Hunt for Love. She thinks she needs to win so she can find love. But Collin follows Savannah to America because he’s in love with her. They work on their HEA while they follow the clues around the quirky town aided by the townspeople and the many animals. Despite being short, the story was well written and included three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. I have loved this series.

This quick novella takes readers back to Happy cat for Savannah to finally get her HEA with Colin. I loved seeing Happy cat through Colin’s stuffy British eyes. He is charming and a little blown away by everything Happy Cat has to offer. His daughter, Beatrice, is adorable. Savannah wants her HEA so bad she almost doesn’t let Colin give it to her, but when they finally have a conversation, their love is obvious. I love the heat, the humor, the romance, and the town characters. I really appreciated how their HEA is perfect for them and super sweet. George Cooney and Nutquacker have cameos and we even meet a new animal along the way. I also loved the allusion to Peter Rabbit in the epilogue. A quick enjoyable read, this was the perfect cap on the Happy Cat book series.

I’ve waited for Savannah’s story since Hosed, the first book in the Happy Cat series. I’m happy to say it is worth the wait!

Savannah finally gets her Happily Ever Aftered with Colin, her ex-boss. This novella is funny and poignant, but you know that Pippa and Lili will not leave you hanging.

It’s always nice to read about other characters, human and animals, that we know and love. There are times George steals the show, being his mischievous, cute, adorable self. 🦝😁

Savannah and Colin’s story is a great ending to the Happy Cat Series.

P.S. I received an ARC of this book, and I also bought the Audible box set.

I listened to this story on Audible. Charming little tale about a couple whose love had grown over the course of years finally admitting how they feel. I really enjoyed how the authors gave Colin and Savanah a backstory, with several mentions of things that had happened in the past, instead of making their relationship seem rushed simply because it was a novella. Shane East had the perfect British accent and Lili Valente embodied the character of Savanah. I loved getting to see all my favorite Happy Cat residents again, both human and non-human, and know I will be listening to these books again and again.

A novella that closes the loop on the Happy Cat romances where it all started … with Savannah, the woman who caught her ex cheating on her with a sheep (gulp, hilarious!) and runs off to England after a messy divorce. There she is hired by Colin, a barrister (fancy word for lawyer) as nanny to his adorable daughter Beatrice.

In usual Pippa Grant style, the rom com is peppered with embarrassing but funny moments, many caused by George Cooney, the chubby trash panda.

And then there’s the crazy thoughts of the characters coupled with cameo appearances by the hunky O’Dell brothers and their wives, which makes this a fun way to catch up on their lives.

Savannah existed in the background of the Happy Cat stories since book 1. I was awful curious about her and, as such, was quite happy her story was written! This is a short, novella length read that not only brings Savannah back to Happy Cat for the annual treasure hunt, but also finds her followed by the one she thought would never love her back (along with his adorable daughter!).

With meddling old ladies, her jerk of an ex-husband, and her sister along for the ride, you'll get the crazy shenanigans and heartful ending you've come to expect in Happy Cat.

I absolutely adored the entire Happy Cat series!! Hosed, Hammered, Hitched, and Humbugged were fabulous stories that had me laughing and smiling the entire time I was reading them. I was so excited we were finally given Savannah's and Colin's story in Happily Ever Aftered. I was excited to read their Happy Cat happy ending. I loved their short story and wanted more; but I'm happy we were able to learn a bit of their back story in the UK. It was great to see George Cooney hasn't changed, and the epilogue was too cute!!

I loved getting a chance to go back to Happy Cat, this one of my series. This a novella about a single father and his nanny. I loved getting to see Savannah get her happy ending after what she had been through. This story was cute, has that trademark Pippa and Lili humor and all of the crazy antics with the residents and their animals.

Shane East and Lili narrate this book and they were great as Colin and Savannah and delivered on all the comedy. I loved every moment of this novella and only wish we could have spent a little more time in Happy Cat.

4 ⭐ 1 🌶️ 4 🎧

I was really disappointed after listening to Hosed when Savannah's story wasn't up next... I wrongly assumed this book was a bonus epilogue for all four couples and was so flipping excited to find out that we do get her story after all and with the amazing Colin, her boss over in England. This was short, but oh so sweet and I loved it to pieces.

I really enjoyed Virginia Rose, but the star of this series was Shane East and his lovely British accent. I had such a great time listening to this novella!

Ridiculously over the top and fun read

Happy Cat makes everyone happy! This is a fabulous set of stories that will have you laughing and then laughing some more. Each story makes us fall in love with ridiculous people who make this world a better place.

Samantha’s story at the end is a cherry on top of the sundae of this series! Samantha deserves her HEA and seeing her reach out and make sure life works on her schedule is perfect ending!

Loved it!!

Happy Cat was the first series I read by Pippa Grant! I was already in love with Lili Valente's writing, so I tried the series. It was so cute, fun and quirky! I loved it! I went on to read the rest of the series. Now a huge fan of both authors, I found this and had to read it. I loved this story of Savannah and Colin! I remember Savannah and her ex Steve from the series. So glad she got her happy ever after!!

A very fun quick read

This is a very short novella but very enjoyable nonetheless. I had hoped, while reading the Happy Cat series that they would give Savannah her story. Even though this is a short story, the authors did a great job portraying both Colin & Savannah. You get a sense of their character and how much they care for each other. This had cute & funny antics and several feel good moments. A great way to end the Happy Cat series.

I really enjoyed the entire town of Happy Cat with all it's quirky characters. Books were fun and a good time. It's odd to say the best part was the pets without being flippant but it's not meant that way. I just really loved the animal friends. This was my least favorite of the series but it was a necessary bookend as Savannah leaving Happy Cat is what starts off the whole series and her homecoming is a great and fitting ending.

This is the best series! I love Happy Cat!

I love the characters in this book! Savannah, is from Happy Cat, a town I would love to visit. The people and their animals are a true delight! Savannah goes to England to work as a nanny for a little girl named Beatrice and her widowed father. Read the antics that finally brings the three together as a family. I highly recommend this and all the Happy Cat series. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Last in the happy cat box series about Savannah who left in the first book. She took off overseas leaving her sex toy company in the care of her family. It turns out she has been being a au pair to a young British girl and her hot lawyer British dad. She finally realizes she is nuts about him it's going nowhere so she comes back to happy cat to participate in a scavenger hunt the winner will win true love.

I can’t believe it ,did I actually read a five book small town romance series and not hate my life after ? Yes, yes I did. For me, small town romance books are a “read one because I’m in the mood than go back to normal sponsored program” but these five couples (even though I lowkey found Noelle’s and Olivia’s book weird) actually kept me so intrigued that I wanted MORE and than before I know it I was 5 books deep. (4 and a half but whatever)

Quick, sweet, satisfying rom com. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m going to quote the author for my review summary:

“And it’s flat-out awesome. Five out of five stars. Would highly recommend.” - Savannah (FMC), Happily Ever Aftered (Happy Cat Book 5) by Pippa Grant, Lili Valente

*Note- It is helpful to read books 1 & 2 (at least) in the series prior to this book for full context. The alpaca, raccoon, sheep-ish jacket, & many other things will make more sense to you!

I love it! It was life altering! I'm sitting here laughing and crying. This is the perfect addition to the wonderful town of Happy Cat. I so want to live there. So Deliciously Cute

I can always count on these two authors for a fun sexy read. I loved this read and I love the town of Happy Cat and all the shenanigans that go alone with it. Colin and Savannah are perfect along with Beatrice. I absolutely loved the ending and their happily ever after. Sometimes you just need a really cute and fun read.

A bit meh. I know it's short, so it's supposed to be too fast, but it bothered me. Everyone, even the top barrister (Bridget Jones style introduction), came off as ditzy. Would read both authors together and seprately in the future, as well. I think I wasn't in the mood for the side of woo-woo this time.
Loved the British accented rabbit at the end, though.
