The Harry Potter fanbase is significant. And it has quite the influence. Since the fifth novel, fans have even voted for the book covers in Germany.
To decide which character owned which skills or what each character wasn't good at took J. K. Rowling about five whole years.
It's not easy for every actor to show feelings convincingly on the big screen. Kissing is probably one of the leading disciplines, which is shown in the number of attempts. The actors of the Harry Potter movies also had their problems with it on set. The kiss between Ron and Hermione needed six takes; Ron and Lavender needed fifteen, and Harry and Ginny (sic) needed ten, but the kiss between Harry and Ginny (sic) took the cake with thirty attempts.
One might think the Muggle world has little in common with the world of wizardry. Now and then, there may be an overlap, which can't be seen as a mere coincidence, such as cornflakes for breakfast. That might not be worth mentioning since everybody must have breakfast. However, when the name of the popular cornflakes are as similar as they are in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, there must be a deeper meaning. In the breakfast scenes, movie fans can spot cornflakes labeled "Cheeri-Owls" on the table--a connection to the cornflakes known as "Cheerios" in the Muggle world.
