The Watchers, Book 2 The countdown is on for Louisville, Kentucky’s fireworks show and the Watchers are in place. Rogue vampires, being the ultimate party crashers they are, are expected to join the revelry. Rosa Bella, standing-room-only singer at the Black Panther Lounge, has her own chaos to manage. As a vampire who manages to blend in with society, she doesn’t need any more complications. But a gorgeous one has just turned her life upside down—Vane, a Watcher assigned to hunt down and eliminate Rogues prowling the downtown streets. Vane, dubbed “Latin Lover” by his fellow Watchers, fills his nights with his favorite letter of the alphabet, “F”—females and food. But nothing fills his empty heart like Rosa’s soft, sexy body. Still, a Watcher’s life has no room for attachments, even one who can defend herself with a pair of red stilettos. Then two unexpected players join the game, and Rosa is thrust into the middle as the prize. They never expected their relationship to be a bed of roses, but as the festival-ending horse race looms, the only way to survive to the finish line is to face the dangers—together.
D. McEntire lives with her husband and two children in Southern Indiana. However, both she and her husband are originally from Louisville, Kentucky. D. McEntire relishes life in the peace of the country along with the menagerie of animals on their small farm.
Being hooked on romance novels for several years, she decided to try her hand at writing her own. Even as a child, she had a vivid imagination—or so her mother says.
By day, she is the secretary for the nursing department at a local health care clinic. By night, she works on her books after her childrens’ homework assignments are finished. Weekends are for fun, which can be found anywhere on their little farm in the country. A menagerie of animals keeps them all busy and entertained.
D. McEntire’s first and foremost love for romance stories is paranormal romance, particularly vampire love stories, but she also writes stories set in medieval times, along with modern-day adventures.
An avid reader of romance novels, she decided to try her hand in putting some of the ideas bouncing around her head to paper, and thus The Watchers Series was born. To learn more about Diane send an email to diane@dmcentire.com.
Another great read. This is Vane and Rosa's story and I loved them both. I also loved that the characters from the first book were back. Kept me on the edge of my seat, fast pace that kept me turning the pages. The intensity and senuality where rocking. I'm so glad there are more books ready to read and more in the works. Highly recommend this book and this series.
Rosa Bella is a well known singer from Louisville, Kentucky. So when she starts receiving red roses with notes and gifts from someone, she starts to think that these gifts are from the vampire watcher named Vane. Ever since the night that her best friend Robyn was almost killed by a rogue vampire, she has never been able to stop thinking about the embrace she shared with Vane that faithful night. How wrong Rosa is to think that these roses are from Vane, what she doesn't know, is that these gifts are from a crazy, obsessed, vampire stalker, who wants to have Rosa as his mate. Will Rosa figure out that Vane is not sending her these roses, or will she fall victim to a rogue vampire?
Vane is known as the Rico Suave of vampire watchers. He has had his share of ladies, but ever since he held Rosa Bella in his arms the night her friend Robyn was almost killed, he has not been able to stop thinking about the beautiful Rosa. He decides that he must see her, and asks Rosa out on a date. Everything is going perfect on his date up until four Rogues corner Vane and Rosa in a back ally corner. Vane manages to kill the rogue vampires, but notices that Rosa is visibly shaken from seeing him kill their attackers. Is this end of Vane's chances of capturing Rosa's heart? Will this be the last date that he has with Rosa, or will she be too shaken up to be around Vane in fear that other rogues will try and attack, or possibly kill him?
Midnight Rose is a romantic love story of a player vampire who falls in love with a beautiful singer. This book will touch all of the warm fuzzies in your heart. I loved this book, and was not able to put it down. I have read the first book in the Watcher's series by Diane McEntire, and I loved it as well. This series is fast becoming one of my favorite vampire series. Great Job Diane, and I can't wait to read the third installment to this series.

The second book in the The Watchers series is a thrilling vampire romance.
Singer Rosa Bella is a vampire hiding among the humans and her life is turned upside down when she meets Vane. Vane is a Watcher and no female has ever filled his empty heart like Rosa, but a Watcher’s life has no room for attachments. Then a vampire hell bent on taking over the city of Louisville Kentucky also has Rosa in his sights. As the danger escalates, the watchers find themselves in a race to save the city and Vane is torn between helping and saving Rosa.
The fast paced plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense, action and romance. The author describes the story with vivid imagery and detail making it easy for the reader to get caught up in the book. The characters are strong, compelling, easily understood and leave the reader wanting to know more.
The attraction between Vane and Rosa radiates heat from every page, but the relationship is has a lot to overcome, not only the bad guys getting in the way but these two need to work on their communication skills. All the characters are intriguing ensuring the reader wants to read more about them, but Rosa is this cross between a vibrant outgoing person who sings on stage, but really vulnerable and unsure of herself capturing the hearts of the reader as well.
This vampire world is thrilling and interesting with some unique attributes that keep readers engaged and this story some surprising twists that the reader doesn’t see coming. The author also does a fantastic job of setting up the next couple books in the series because I really want to read Rayne’s and Tank’s stories soon, and I want to know what happened to the ‘good’ (ha!) doctor that got away from the watchers.
D. McEntire’s is a great suspense writer. Her use of certain plot conventions naturally seem to creat a story which keep a reader guessing, reading, and therefore waiting with bated breath for the other axe to fall, or should I say, next bite to happen. Midnight Rose is different and in some respects is the same as Midnight Reborn, the Watchers Book 1. I must say, I liked the blend. This series is definitely not one composed of several books with the same basic plotline, but different character names
Book 2 was a new romance, new issues, new battles with a rich back story to pull from. I enjoyed the return to Robyn and Trigg from the first story and the way this one begun where the Book 1 left off.
There was a constant interlacing of the new bad guys, new agendas, with the old connections. This book is more blood and less violence, if you know what I mean in the vamp world. And, I found it just as addicting as the first book. Even the relationship complications were different giving an interesting twist to the conflicts of the plot. McEntire is a true genius at writing a series!
With a satisfying ending which left open and lingering aspects of other supporting characters you are still lead right into the next book. I am looking forward to reading Midnight Revelations.
"Midnight Rose" is the second exciting installment of "The Watchers" series. In this sequel to "Midnight Reborn," Louisville lounge singer, Rosa Bella, continues the story after her best friend, Robyn Andrews, is shot while trying to protect some loved ones. Things appear to look bleak for Rosa until the handsome Vane sets his sights on her. Like Rosa, Vane is a vampire, but he is also a Watcher who is on a mission to seek and destroy all Rogue vampires. It does not take long before Rosa and Vane fall in love then fall into bed.
Just as with the beginning of something great, however, complications arise. After she hears some distasteful rumors about Vane's past sexual conquests, Rosa leaves the restaurant, and their date, in a huff. Meanwhile, evil drug lord Evan has plans of his own. In the midst of trying to legalize gambling in Louisville, and having a batch of unique, addictive drugs concocted then manufactured, he tries to claim the beautiful Rosa as his prize. Once Vane finds out that she is missing, he decides to take matters into his own hands. From there, it does not take long for the two lovers to find themselves caught up in some serious business.
"Midnight Rose" is a taut and gripping thriller, packed with plenty of suspense and romance. For any readers who are looking for an engaging story, the book is sure not to disappoint.
